Honestly, I have the answer to everything that happened in the books that seems iffy or contradicts with something else: Jo just wasn't thinking about it. That's pretty much it. As I've said before, it's impossible to keep track of everything you write, and she remembered the underage magic thing when it was important, and forgot it when it wasn't It's as simple as that.
As for Sirius' death, there was no excuse for them screwing it up like that. I mean, what possible reason could they have?

And although I'll admit that that I myself am also lazy, I would NEVER sabotage a Harry Potter film!

Well, my whole thing with Sirius' death is that it would have been just as difficult to make it a red spell as a green, and quite frankly, the line 'Stupify' is shorter than 'Avada Kedavra' by a few letters.

I think it was so mobiegoers who hadn't read the books would be able to get it... supposedly...really it's just a silly directing thing.

In the second movie Hermione uses the repair charm on Harry's glasses...at Diagon Ally. Magic out of school!

I can't wait to see how they cram in all the information they left out for the last two movies to make sense.

I think it's pitiful that you guys haven't said anything about the most crucial mistake they made on the film. Daniel Radcilff has BLUE eyes, NOT green. Which isn't as good because that takes the whole thing away where snape loved lilly and every time he looked at harry he would see James except for his eyes.

I agree when I saw the movie for the first time before I even read the 5th book I was like that was messed up instead of being sad that Sirius died I have saying in my head how much better they could of made that death. Over all the 5th movie failed to even come close to the book.

Wow. Reading this thread has really opened my eyes. -__o' I've never really noticed any of this stuff before. I guess I'm just a bit ignorant like that.
Anyway, the underage wizard thing is really bothering me now. It makes me think, "Jo, you could have thought this through way better! You should know your fans well enough that we would notice this stuff."
It has /always/ bothered me, ever since the fifth movie, that Cho was the 'betrayer' of Dumbledore's Army, though. I mean, I don't really like Cho's character (she cries too much...) but that was still a bit cruel for the director to do the poor girl. xP
And Sirius' death bothered me, too. This is why I have thing against the third movie and up; so many little things are changed to 'make the movies more interesting' or something like that.
Oh, yeah. And Daniel Radcliffe's eyes? I've always known they were blue (didn't they look kind of green in the first movie, though?) and his hair is brown, not black. And in the movie, they don't make his hair stick up enough. But still, it's not like they're just going to fire Daniel because he has the wrong colored eyes.

Well, I don't think it'd hurt for the people in charge of Harry Potter to give Daniel some freaking eye contacts.
Or make him colour his hair a bit darker. Wouldn't kill them, now would it? Also, to be honest, if you look at how much Daniel makes for each movie, they could certainly use a bit of extra money on some hair gel or something! It wouldn't bankrupt them.
I really hope that in the future, perhaps twenty years from now, they'll re-make the movies.
Oh, and about the third movie.. Is it just me, or did they never tell Harry that his father was an animagus, and that his animagus form was a stag? ._.;

I don't think they ever did... Wow. That's just wrong. I can't believe they did that. And what's worse, it completely slipped by me until you mentioned it. -__o'

It really bugged me that in the 5th movie, at Harry's hearing, that he hair was like flat against his head, annnd that it was brown. His eyes have also bugged me. And now that you say something, I DON'T remember them ever telling Harry about his dad in the movie. This is small flaw, but in some of the movies, I can't remember which, Harry's scar keeps switching sides of his head. I noticed it...

This doesn't have anything to do with the movies, but I remembered it when you mentioned the "moving" scar.
Has anyone else noticed, that on some of the book covers, Harry's scar is on the middle of his forehead? I mean really.. What is he? A hindu who has forgotten that it's supposed to be a dot and not a lightningbolt? <.<;
