Aiden hesitated, but only for a moment. He trusted her. And, whatever happened to his flames, hopefully he would still have her. Taking a second to let himself prepare, he shuffled his paws. Big mistake. He slipped on the mud that had overtaken the lake's bank and fell down, down, into the bright blue-colored lake water.
Aiden rose above the water, sputtering. "I'm fine, really," he said, but was he? Were his flames still intact? He wouldn't know till after the swim.
Aiden's cheeks were burning red. He slipped! In front of... Tulip. In front of anyone else it would've been okay, but, Tulip? What was he doing wrong?

Tulip watched him as he fell into the water. Half of her screamed to stay calm and not react while the other commanded her burst out in laughter. There was a playful look in her eyes and hardly stifling a giggle she laughed, "Oh come, the mud's not that slippery is it?" There was gentle teasing in her eyes as she swam confidently to him taking long graceful strides. Before long she reached him and smiled. "Do you want to go slowly?" She inquired.

Aiden was happy that Tulip didn't poke too much fun at his clumsiness. "Ha ha," was all he could think to say in reply to her gentle teasing. "S-s-slowly?" his mind was still on the whole relationship thing, and at first that's what he thought she was talking about. Quickly he recovered, realizing she was talking about swimming. "Why would we need to do that? Are you not as good as I in swimming?" he laughed and swam forward, a twinkle in his eye. He was happy here, with her, and it was the most fun he'd had in a long while

Tulip giggled. "I just didn't think you could swim." Turning around she phed her hind-legs against the mud and swam foreward to Aiden. Tulip felt as if she could live today over an over again. It was just perfect. Simply perfect. The lake, the breeeze, and most importnatly, Aiden.

Aiden laughed slightly, following up with, "Aiden? Not swim? Ha. I laugh in the face of... uh..." Aiden faltered for words, then came up with something. "Water. Hahaha!" Aiden gave a really deep, evil-sounding laugh. Though, inside it was a nervous laugh.
He smiled at Tulip, them swam away from her, flailing with his front paws, where she couldn't see them, he thought. It was his first time in the water, and, considerably, he was doing quite well. He had been very nervous because of the fire situation, but now, with Tulip, he felt fine. He felt... dream-like. It was like he had never felt before, and he liked it.
