“No,” Jethro replied in all honesty, “I really haven’t tried to join any prides. I’ve thought about it a little… but I just don’t think I would fit in, you know? Maybe I’ve just been doing things on my own so much I wonder if it would be too hard to try and listen to someone else for a change. Rules frighten me.” He heaved a sigh, shaking his head. There was really no need to be worried about something so silly. Listening to someone else -like the leader of a pride for example- wouldn’t be that terrible a change in lifestyle.
Would it?
“I think I have a little more rogue in me,” he said lightly to finish the thought.
“No one huh?” he chuckled faintly, “well, I’m sure you’d be able to change that real easy if you ever wanted a switch. You seem like a nice enough wild dog. Not that… I know a lot about how wild dogs are supposed to act or anything but… well… by a dorky loner lion’s standards- you’re alright.” He laughed again, this time at himself. A more awkward sentence could not have come from him at that moment.
Though he agreed about free time, he still knew there was someone in his life he would be willing to change everything for. He just had to make sure she was willing to do the same before actually going ahead with anything.
Watching the other finish up a moment longer, he allowed his eyes to wander away, edging towards the sky. It was nice.
