It was the same old tech. shop she had been living in for the last 7 years, nothing had changed except for the few things Kalliope had added to make it a little more homey. A bright blue chair in the corner with a lamp and a stack of books on the bedside table, a small aquarium she had to promise to keep away from the electronics, and several abstract pictures she had drawn and decorated the walls of the house. It was just the same place she'd come to call home.

The techno music was blaring as Kalliope carried on at her work station, ocassionally she'd mimic the music in it's exact likeness and other times she'd completely loose herself and start off in some spontaneous dance.

It had been a busy morning, she didn't have just the locals to deal with but even some rich out of towners who travelled all the way to Yuris looking for specialists. Not many came seeking out Kalliope, but every now and then word would get around and she'd get around to dazzling some technical-know-not. This morning she seriously had some man bring in a metal detector and ask if the circuit board was broken. He had explained that it was brand new but was completemy broken. Kalliope saw the problem right away, the guy hadn't even put batteries in it. Of course she hadn't charged him for such a mistake. Right now of course she was finishing up a hover board for the Mairson boy's birthday, his mother was to pick it up in a couple of hours.

"Kalli! will you please turn that music down." The man who had taken her in those so many years ago, a mechanic named Jack, was standing in the doorway with a a pair of headphones on shielding his ears.

Kalliope eyes seemed to glimmer as she looked up from the circuits, "Come on Pop, It's my last day." She smiled, that pleading smile of hers. Jack hated being called; Pop, Pops, old man, or anything else other than Jack, Only Kalliope, who was like a daughter to him, could get away with it. The music turned down a few notches to a more understandable volume.

Jack pretended to wipe some grease from his face as he tried not to appear sad. "You sure you want to go. It can be dangerous out there. Not everywhere is like Yuris, Kalliope."

Kalliope put down the wrench in her left hand and turned to lean against her workshop table, facing the doorway. "I know." She paused for a moment. "I don't remember much from when I first came to the island. I don't remember what the cities were called or where I had been. I've been surrounded by machinery, technology, and electronics, for more than half my life. It's just a short break, just enough to get out and stretch my legs." She paused and a smirk crossed her face "And danger. Pops you tell me which cyborg or any creature could stand up to this?" She flexed her arms to which few muscles showed.

The two broke out in laughter which carried on for a good few seconds as Jack made his way across the room and clapped Kalliope, who stood just an inch shorter than him in comaprision, on the shoulder with a smile. "Ok." He said trying to muffle the continuing chuckles, "But take my word for it, you'll be missed dearly while you're gone."

Kalliope smiled, "You don't have to tell me that, I already know they'll miss me." She turned around and pointed to a cubby that served as Kalliope's mailbox. It was full of flowers, cards, stuffed animals, and random pieces of machinery. "With everyone expecting me to go. I've got to now. I promised little Trini that I'd pick wild flowers while I'm travelling and bring them back to her. You should have seen how happy she was to hear it."

"Yes, I can imagine. Little Trini reminds me a lot of you when you first came here except that instead of a love for flowers, you loved technology." Jack smiled.

"That and I didn't have a cybernetic leg. That poor girl, she's living in the wrong city if she loves flowers." Kalliope sighed.

"Yes, but maybe she'll grow-up and be like you following what you love." Jack smiled and turned for the door. "Well you finish that hover board order and don't forget to see me before you go." He headed back out in the main shop area, closing thw workshop door behind him.

Kalliope's smile softened and slwoly faded as she turned back towards the hoverboard and picked the wrench back up. "Yes, maybe she will follow her love of flowers." She paused to flip a switch on the circuit board. "But my so called passion for technology was pre-determined at birth. Little Trini's passion is genuine." She uttered quietly and watched as a blue light lit up on the mainframe and the wheeless board lefted up into the air.

The brown haired man with the olive colored robe started to hear things, something high pitched that wasn't something Tyronus was used to hearing. It was th frequency of some sort of technology activating, as soon as the puppet heard the high pitched whirring, it started to follow each machine within the city. Tyronus was having a reactino to the electric frequency of the city thansk to the activation of a technology, his ears had adapted to listen to eletronic frequency because of his. It was causing Tyronus to feel great pain within his head, he just needed to adapt to it so his ears would becoem use to it. Technology osmetimes gives off high pitched noises, most people don't hear it because they live around it all their lives or their ears aren't adapt at lsitening for high frequency noises. Since Tyronus was away from theo utside world for so long, his ears weren't ready for it. The organic puppet felt msot of the blow, already in a fetal position on the ground covering it's ears.

The man slammed his fist down on the table and stood up pointing at Zorlan.
"You must of miscounted there's no way that you could have ten more fish than me, we went out at the same time!"
Zorlan stared at the man with confused eyes and smiled, "Just must be better than Vince!" He smiled and took ten of Vince's fish as was the agreement.
"Zorlan come on man! Those are rare Crastio Plasina I need those to help pay for rent this month..." Vince looked down and then looked up at Zorlan, "Please man."
Zorlan sighed and gave him all the fish back except for one big Crastia Plasina, "I be keeping this one I will." He smiled and shook hands with Vince who was smiling back, a small crowd was around the men and they were all happy that things turned out well.

The twins waited for their moment and ran for the Light rail station, got two tickets and were aboard the next rail to Aquil faster than you could say run. "I am so glad! We have been saving for this for a long time!" Rikku said happily looking to her brother. "Yeah I know, we haven't been here in at least five years... since mom and dad took us last." He said brimming with just as much excitment as his sister. THe light rails were fast.... to say the least and within 30 minutes the lakes were in view. "The man at the rail station even gave us a small discount, we'll even have enough to get a new pair of swim clothes." Rikku said showing her brother the money. The rail slowed to a stop and every one on board began to get of the rail. "I am so excited we are here." Baralai said to Rikku.... only Rikku wasn't there. "We must have gotten seperated when people where getting off the train... RIKKU!" he yelled. "BARALAI HELP!" Rikku screamed."RIkku where are you!" He yelled as he saw her some man had her slung over his shoulder and was running away with her. "RIKKU!... SOMEONE HELP ME THAT MAN HAS MY SISTER!" Baralai yelled running through the streets of Aquil, after his sister and the mystery kidnapper. Rikku normally would've used magic to free herself but this all happend so quickly she was in shock and didn't know what to do.

The people that were around Zorlan and Vince started to go about on the business that they were doing before hand. They always liked to see people try to people beat Zorlan in a fishing contest, the one thing he has never lost at. Zorlan shook hands with Vince and then started to walk to his hut which was close to the center of the town, suddenly a man roughly pushed him out of the way and a little kid was chasing after him crying. He then heard the kid crying out a name,
"Rikku! That man has Rikku!" (Sorry about the small controlling speak)

Zorlan instantly put down his tank and twisted the fishing rod he had in his hand, he then leaned back and snapped his wrist the wire on his fishing rod wrapping around the little girl's legs. He then pulled back and the girl flew through the air and landed into his arms.
"You be okay yes? I hope I didn't hurt you."

"Yes I am ok, Thank you." Rikku said calmly smiling kindly up at the man who had just saved her. Baralai, however wasn't entirely sure of what just happened he just knew one thing, This new man now had his sister. "Put her down!" He said witha commanding tone Raising his arm to attack him. "Baralai, it is ok He helped me." Rikku said wiggling out of the mans arms, and running over to him, "He used that amazing fishing rod to pull me straight from the mans grasp." She said calmly. "Sorry...... and thanks.." Baralai said feeling stupid. "THERE HE IS!" Rikku yelled pointing at the man who had grabbed her, who was now running back after them. "C'mon!" Rikku yelled grabbing her brother by the arm and running behind Zorlan.

"Leave me alone, I don't want help."

The man stood up, Tyronus was now able to dron out the high frequency noice generator by the cities technology. He didn't respond to the girl, he only stood up and jumped from the ground to the nearest building to follow the twins, they seemed odd. They weren't exactly human, but something like twins intrested him. They looked alike yet seemed differnt. Then there was the Water Being, he was also odd, but other species were common, not twins.

Zorlan took a step forward and spun the rod around him the wire getting longer and longer until it was whipping around him. The man kept charging at Zorlan even though he was a little more hessitant. He stopped a little bit as the wire bit into his skin leaving a gash across his shoulder.
"Ugh!" The man knew he was outmatched so instead of going for a fight he ran off in the direction of the Light Rail.
Zorlan spun the rod above his head and the wire went back into the cach mechanism. Zorlan then looked at the two kids behind him and smiled, "Bad man gone now no worries!"

"Rikku why did you pull us away we could've taken him easily." Baralai said calmly. "I know but I freaked ok... it isn't like he tried to grab you and run or anything." She said coldly, and then looked up at Zorlan. "Thank you for saving me." SHe said shyly. "Yeah, thank you for helping us out, oh and by the way my name is Baralai. "oh and mine is Rikku." The two said Happily. "Rikku..." Baralai said. "C'mon we need to find a place to stay..... lets find one quick so that we can have time to swim." Baralai said urging his sister along with him. ".... Baralai... I don't really know if we have the money for a room at the in..... looks like we are camping tonight." Rikku said calmly with a sigh.

Zorlan looked at the talk between themselves, the girl was Baralai and the boy was Rikku. (I think?) Zorlan heard them say that they didn't have enough money for the local inn and that they would have to sleep outside. Zorlan's instincts of helping out instantly took conrol of him and he looked at the two. "Stay at my place you can, just no steal stuff."
Zorlan walked over to the tank full of fish and picked it up he then started to walk towards his hut, hoping that Rikku and Baralai would follow him, so that they wouldn't have to sleep outside.

Kalliope switched off the board and stood up. She wasn't entirely sure why she had zoned so suddenly, maybe she was having second thoughts about leaving, she wasn't sure. She looked at the board and then the clock. 'How long have I been sitting here?' She wondered. There was another thing about Kalliope, time always seemed to escape her.

Kalliope took out the old energy core and put a new one in as Mrs. Mairson came in through the workshop door. She put the last screw in place and turned around to present the lady with the finished order. "Here you go Mrs. Mairson all done and ready to go." She handed the board over to mother looking at it rather cautiously. "Don't worry Mrs. Mairson, I added tons of fail safes so if anything goes wrong, which I assure you it won't, Todd will be perfectly safe." Kalliope felt slightly uneasy as Mrs.Mairson didn't move and continued to look the board over.

"Mrs. Mairson, you paid in advance, so you can go." Kalliope paused but the woman said nothing. "Right, Well I've got to get going. I'll see you later Mrs. Mairson." She said quickly and hurried out of the workshop and out into the the shop front where Jack was waiting for her, her travel bag already packed and sitting by the door where she had left it that morning.

"I was expecting you to have been waiting to give Mrs. Mairson the hoverboard not finishing it up as she arrived." Jack said a little worry lingered in his voice.

"Yeah, It was finished, I just sort of.... I must have dozed off for a bit. I came to and the battery was almost dead. Silly me." Kalliope said her voice more distant than usual. She picked up her travel bag and flung it over her shoulder.

"You got everything?" Jack asked glancing at nearly empty bag, being her only luggage.

"Of course I do Pops." Kalliope paused, not really wanting to say goodbye because it wasn't just a quick trip to the market this time she wasn't sure how long she'd be gone. "Well I'd better get going." She said and headed out the door.

"Yeah, the light rail will be leaving soon." Jack said quietly from the doorway.

"I don't think I'm going to take the light rail. Too fast." She hymned. "It'd be a great time to practice with my flight boots, hover board, who knows I may even just walk the whole trip. Excercise couldn't kill me. I could stand to loose a bit of weight." She laughed. Over the years Jack had called her a twig with arms and he was probably was right. The girl was basically skin and bones even muscles were scarce. She probably owed the petite figured to her Siren heritage as well. Sirens had an alluring voice but they were also suppose to be beautiful to their prey, almost like Vampires only Sirens didn't eat humans, as far as she knew. Sirens killed for sport but that was centuries ago and Sirens had since lost their thrill of killing humans.

"I never thought Kalliope would ever use the word excercise. What a day for the records this is." He laughed.

"Yeah, yeah. Keep laughing old man. When I come back I'll be stronger than you, even." She teased and started for the city limits, "Don't forget to feed my fish!" she called and without another word she took off in a sprint towards the edge of Yuris and onward towards the next city, looking straight ahead the whole time, fearing she might change her mind if she looked back. 'you'll see them again silly, besides it was you're choice to go.' She chidded herself and wrapped a hand around her blue pendant for reassurance.

((Rikku Is the girl and Baralai is the Boy. The names are from final fantasy X-2))

"THank you so much that would be amazing!" Rikku said kindly running after him. "Is there anything we can do to make it up for you?" Baralai said running towards him as well. "We could cook you dinner, or help you catch fish, or help out around your hut, or we could make you breakfast tomorrow." They chimed in one after another and then looked at each other with a wide smile. "Do you like eating flame cooked fish?" They asked in unison.

((Purple means they are talking at the same time... red+blue=purple))

((Oh my bad! sweatdrop ))

Zorlan chuckled as the little kids looked up at him talking one after the other, they were practically circling him in excitement. He couldn't answer their question fast enough,
"I can cook dinner but- if you want to- yeah cleaning sometimes gets- I'd have to show you where-"
He kept smiling as he wasn't really able to anser all the questions that the kids were asking him, they were just too fast for him. He finally arrived at the hut when they asked him a question in unison, "Do you like eating flame cooked fish?" That was something that Zorlan could answer,
"Yes flame cooked fish good always is!" He then opened the door and put the fish in the bigger tank by the window watching them swim to the bottom with the other fish who usually sleep at this time of day.
"Come in you can!" He called to the two kids.
Zorlan's hut was a little bit bigger than all the other huts in the village, because he was always hosting for those who couldn't afford to live in other places. It had three room on the first floor and one room on the top floor the master bedroom. The kitchen could be seen from the front froom and a bathroom was down a hall off to the side. There were no doors but beaded seperators that looked like seaweed by the way it swayed.

The cloaked organic puppet had followed them to the hut, wanting to know why those two children looked alike. It was soemthing Tyronus had never seen before, he wanted to study them undisturbed from their natural habitat. The puppet was on the roof of the hut, his ear disconnecting from his head attached to a tentacle listened closely to the roof, wanting to hear what they were speaking of.
