"No." The red haired kit whimpered slightly, but obediently sat down besides her father. "Dadda, why did Viree switch off all the lights?" It made no sense to her, and she was so worried, she was about to cry. Her brother had always dragged Pib, the flashlight around with him, switched on, whether day or night.
And to his close sister, switching it off was frightening and out of the ordinary. "Nyx?" She whispered softly, ears perking up at the sound of her sister's voice, but staying where she was all the same.
It took a while for Ayako to realize she needed to calm down. Xanul had been so scared before, when Liliana was hurt, and she had seemed to be at a loss of what to do. She had to be strong, for those around her. That was the job of a mother. She nodded mutedly towards Saix. "Lia dear, don't go near it." She warned in a gentle tone.
"Xerviree." She spoke her son's name sternly, turquoise eyes still watching the 'portal'. "Go to your sister." She meant Axis of course. It hadn't escaped her that the two were the closest, and the redhead needed comfort at the moment. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to, so that responsibility now fell on Xerviree.
"I don't think it grows..." Ayako murmured softly. From what she had seen from Xanul's powers(and he used them a lot), they grew to a maximum size before one entered it.
"Lia." She said warningly, the corner of her eyes catching sight of the blue kit pawing at the portal. It all seemed so fast, and she could only watch in horror as the oldest of the second batch stumbled into the portal.
"Lia!" She gasped, looking around to see if the portal had appeared anywhere else. Where could she have gone? Could she be stuck in the hallways between the portals? At the moment, Xanul wasn't here (And she definetely didn't want the kits to see how emotionless he was at the time), and that meant that only one could help. Turning her eyes towards Saix, she said firmly. "We need to find her." There was no use losing her cool, especially when the four teens were in such a panic...except maybe Xerviree.

While Xara sat by Nyx and tried to urge her up, Saix was frowning at his youngest son. How odd - wasn't this kit usually a lot more...well, scared? He had always been lugging around that flashlight of his, but now...
"Just stay away,"He stepped between the portal and Xerviree, his voice firm. "It's not something you should touch." He glanced over his shoulding at the swirling, black hole. Even he wasn't sure what would happen if someone were to walk into it. Was it exactly like Xanul's portals? Or was it somehow different? Not to mention that this was the first time Lia had created a portal - she couldn't have too much control over it yet.
Looking down at Axis, he reached out to pat her head rather gruffly. "He's probably not the same Xerviree as usual, right now." He replied, decided there wasn't any reason to explain further. Hearing Ayako call for Xerviree to stick by Axis, he stood up with a sigh. "Stay here Axis, and don't move."
As if he were a dog, and his children were sheep, Saix bent down to pick up Nyx while leading Xara towards their sister and their mother. He figured it was best to round everyone up.
He turned at the warning tone in Ayako's voice, just in time to see Lia fall into the portal. He was aware of Xara behind him, calling Lia's name frantically, but could only look at Ayako and nod. "She could be anywhere, though. We don't know where that portal leads, and she probably doesn't have a hang of her powers yet." He spoke softly.

A nod came from the young male as his sister who was unable to move mumbled. Good, she did need to calm herself. If she just centered herself, stayed calm then maybe she'd be able to figure out what she could do to force her legs to allow her to move again.
A frown formed upon the blonde kit's face as his father told him to stay away from the portal. His voice was firm, and he certainly did not want to upset his father, but he so wanted to touch it. He wanted to know what it did, if it worked the same way as Xanul's portals....Because it certainly didn't look the same.
Ears perked, flipping back as the sister he was closest to questioned why he turned off the lights. It was something that he would have not been able to explain. It was confusing to say the least, when his father told her that he probably wasn't the same him at the moment.
Was he different? It certainly did seem that way.
As he was bumped by another one of his sisters he tumbled back onto his rump with a tiny thump. Eyes widened as the sister that had bumped him, Lia, stumbled rather off balance and into the swirling portal. He blinked, canting his head to the side, the swirl had vanished the moment she had entered it and now....Now she was gone.
Slowly he stumbled over to Axis, rubbing his snout under her chin gently hoping to get her to cheer up some. "That's not fair~" he almost huffed, speaking about what had just happened to Lia. "I bet Lia's on a cool adventure now, getting to fight all the mony.......monsters!" It seemed as though the male's current lack of fear was helping with his pronounciation. "I want to go to. She doesn't even have a sword or anything. She'll have to be fighting them all with her paws and going 'wacha'! .....I bet she's having a lot of fun." The frown on his face remained. Oh being sent off on a grand adventure and getting to fight monsters. His sister certainly was a lucky one.
The urgency of the matter certainly hadn't clicked in his mind.

Nyx whimpered loudly when she father picked her up. She hoped her legs would curl up towards her body like always but apparently they didn't, they just dangled down like a puppets'. Nyx was calmer know and seemed to be able to analyze the situation with herself. Her joints could be just described as ' Overly Oiled '. Nyx had a small smile on her face, that would be it.
Her blue eyes turned to observe her other siblings when her ears picked up a ' hmph ' from Lia. She looked into the swirly black " portal " again. It was THAT scary looking... It just looked never ending... It looks like the library we went to... And in the midst of her thoughts down went Lia. " LIA! LIA! DADDY!! " Nyx cried out in alarm when she noticed that Lia went down the hole which promptly dissapeared. She wriggled her upper part of her body which she COULD move. It felt weird doing it. Nyx confirmed she liked squirming better.
Nyx landed with a small bump on the floor. " OOF! " She said closing her eyes tightly. She tried to get closer to her mother but failed miserably. In the very least she was lying down on the floor. Nyx's fringe fell down and covered her eyes, she huffed. From fright, to fear, to worry and now...? Nyx was irritated alot. " A little help please? " She called out to her sister Axis and brother viree.
" Dadddyyyy~ " the little kit said closing one eye because the her fringe was poking it painfully. " The portal looked like the library, do portals look like things? " She asked quite curious indeed.

"Eeeek.... OMPH!" Lia tumbled onto a hard flat surface. She frowned... at least she thought it was hard and flat. It was pitch black where ever she was, and she could see nothing, not even her own nose. Frowning and attempting to look around Lia realized that she now knew exactly what Axis had meant when she'd been complaining about someone turning off all the lights.
For some odd reason Lia wasn't feeling scared. She felt perfectly safe in the black. Though... Lia frowned. "Mama and Xara... and everyone are probably worried"
She glanced around again. It would probably be best if she tried to find a way out of here. There wasn't any point in staying, it was boring after all. Lia blinked and tried to focus an a particular spot, it wasn't exactly "lighter", more that the darkness seemed to ripple. The same way the air had rippled before the portal thing had appeared.
Curiously she poked her paw at the spot. It disappeared the same as it had into the portal. "Hmm" It probably wasn't smart to stick her head into unknown things. ...that reminded her of just how she'd gotten into this mess, now that she thought about it Mama was probably going to be mad once she found her, but she didn't really have many other options other than to try going through.
"Oh well." With a mental shrug she pushed through the ripple.
"....Huh?..."
Lia blinked. Wasn't this Grandpa's library? What on earth was she doing here?
"Well..." Lia looked thoughtful for a moment. "...at least it's not boring."

"But he's never turned off Pib before!" Axis's voice rose, somewhat frantic, but she stopped sniffling at her father's touch, somewhat comforted. The blind teen was confused, hearing her mother call out Xexilia's name and from they way her parents and the others were speaking...Lia was gone. But how? Why?
"You never wanted to fight monsters." She relaxed at her brother's nuzzle, but shoulders were still tense. Xerviree was still scaring her, but she had to keep calm for now. Momma was worried, and she didn't want Ayako to feel more confused as she continued to harp on Ree's change.
"Nyx?" Her head turned about, ears perked, trying to figure out where her sister was. What was happening exactly? She was very confused. And she was picking up something...some kind of sense...
"Not all portals go to the library." Ayako said, frowning, trying to figure out where Lia had went. It was probably because Xanul had taken the kits to the library through the portals that Nyx thought this way.
"But she is in the library, momma. Why is she there?" Axis piped up. She had no idea how she knew, she just did. There was something tugging in her, telling her that her sister was safe in the library. It made her feel a lot better, knowing this.
