Just a mini announcement to each of the four common rooms:

Nicodeamus grinned at Moira's words, smiling. "Lill woke up, but she's still unstable. It's a good thing your still smaller than me, because then, I can still do this," he said as he swept Moira off her feet and into his right arm, "It's funny that I can probably lift the Headmaster off her feet." He chuckled as she set Moira down. The moment Skyla entered, he smiled down at her, bowing his head in acknowledgement.
"First years are getting smaller every year. Either that, or I'm getting taller. Nice to meet you Skyla. Moira and I'll be glad to help you out, won't we, Moira?" he told Skyla, grinning widely.

Moira blushed deeply when Nicodeamus scooped her up, seemingly without effort. Once she was on stable ground again, she straightened her robe, trying to seem put-off but failing. I haven't smiled this much all summer. She gave up, and laughed.
"Of course we will!" Moira gave Skyla a friendly pat on the arm, smiling. "Although if you're taking Care of Magical Creatures, you're on your own! I was never any good at that." She frowned inwardly and thought of the incident with the Blast Ended Skrewts. She shuddered.

Anna, too, closed her eyes, letting the warmth of the fire seep into her skin, into her very core, and warm her. It was nights like tonight, though it was only the very first night of their Hogwarts stay, term hadn't even started yet, it was nights like tonight that one could just fall asleep by the fire and to yell with the pranksters and their no-sound-making spray paint.
She chuckled only lightly. "The Slytherins aren't that bad. It's the Ravenclaws you need to watch out for. All so pompous, perfectionists, the lot 'em; they'd freak out if the library was closed for an indefinite amount of time. Book worms, nosers, pompous, stick their noses up in the air, my horse is better than your horse, Ravenclaws." Finished with expression her distaste for Ravenclaws, she fought sleep and opened her eyes, a gut feeling telling her that should she have not opened them, she would've fallen asleep right then and there. And, even worse, she would've ended up slumping over on Damian's shoulder. Not. good. Not good at all.

Damian gave a soft laugh. He was too tired to really give a good loud laugh. "I like the Ravenclaws. Who do you think I copy off of during tests?" he said jokingly. Truthfully, he thought the Ravenclaws were an alright bunch, a little too much of studious one, but an alright one nonetheless.
Damian sat up. Laying down on the couch was only encouragement for him to fall asleep and he wasn't gonna do that. As much as he loved the people of his house, he was not looking to become an easy pranking target again.

Anna shrugged idly, summoning the last of her energy and springing off the sofa. When she was on her feet, she wobbled a bit, no doubt due to the sudden change in both position and pressure on her calves, and waved at him tiredly, the patty having worn off.
"'Night, Damian." She gave him a small smile and felt the oddest urge to hug him good night. She resisted, however, as she'd see him first thing in the morning. Giving a slightly wider tired smile she trotted off up the girls' staircase.

All of sudden Damian realized that he didn't want Anna to go just yet. "Anna, wait." he said, getting up, though rather unsteadily because he was also tired. But wait for what he didn't know. Then he remembered the conversation that they'd had in the Great Hall. He had told her about the dragon preserve and the baby dragon that he had helped care for. He had told her about the pictures that had been taken and thats what would keep Anna just a bit longer. "I want to show you the pictures I took while in the dragon preserve, including the ones of the baby dragon."

Anna titled her head, her back to Damian, on her tenth step. 'Did someone say my name? Damian?' She then turned on her heel, nearly tripping herself in the process, and listened while he spoke. She gave him another, less tired, smile and nodded a tad enthusiastically, bounding down the steps. However, this time, she didn't get back on the sofa for fear that it would lull her to sleep. Instead, she sat on the floor near the center of the common room, the wall propping her up. She patted the space next to her.
"Let's see, then. I do hope they're wizarding photographs. You never know." She defended herself without provocation, as was her nature.

Damian felt ecstatic that Anna had decided to stay, even if it was just for the photographs. "Yes Anna, they are all wizarding photos." Damian replied, stifling a yawn in the process. "Only sad part is that the dragons in the photos can't breathe real fire."
He bounded to the entrance of the boys' dormitory. "I'll right back with the album." he yelled to Anna and disappeared into the dormitory.
At this point, Selena walked into the common room, breathing in the familiar scents of the Gryffindor common room. The thing that she loved most about the Gryffindor common room was that it was always so warm and cozy. She looked over and saw Anna. "Hi Anna." she said quietly. She knew the girl really well, as Damian always talked to her and about her. Damian was just plain crazy when it came to Anna. Of course, he would never tell her just how crazy. Selena didn't even know if Damian had finally manned up and asked Anna on a date.

Anna smiled a little and watched him leave, suddenly shaking her head incredulously. She would never understand boys. For one thing, when they were little they played games where they killed people with toy guns. They pretended they were soldiers in freakin' Viet Nam. They rolled around in the dirt and made pies out of mud. Then, when they got older, they pretended to run over screaming people with their toy trucks, and ravage downtown Tokyo with Godzilla's cousin. She would never understand boys as long as she lived.
Now alone in the common room, she asked the silence, "What's wrong with accio?" Then Selena came in. She smiled cheerily at the young girl, she often thought of her as her younger sister, and, for some odd reason, looked to the team when Selena had her first crush - if she hadn't had it already - and telling her that boys were stupid, immature, and would not get it. So her best hope was to try to forget about everything boy-related and just be friends with them. But, most importantly, she would tell - yell - her to stop being such a girl. Of course, if a boy asked you, that was a tad different and certainly preferable.
"Hey, there, Selena." She beamed, silently wondering if Selena went with Damian to the dragon reserve. (Internet died out, and then it restarted, and I had to do a new post. Apologies. >..)

Nico grinned at Skyla, winking. His grey eyes seemed unnatural compared to his rough and frightening appearance. He hadn't smiled this much in quite a while. "I dunno what I'm taking, though, I know I'm taking History of Magic. Professor Marshall'd be insulted if I didn't take his class," the Norseman said, grinning. He remembered the Care of Magical creatures incident rather well, and always thought it funny, despite his lasting burns.
He grinned, and with one arm, lifted Skyla up off the ground, and grinned to to girl as he set her down. "You are one light girl. It's pretty unnatural," he taunted her, winking again.

Moira shifted her weight, spotting the first year as Nicodeamus swept her up. There was no need, of course. She was just being cautious. Edgar teased her at home, or what could be called teasing, from a six year old. He called her "Second Mum." But, she had had every reason to worry, with what he had been through just last year. Moira's face crumpled for a moment, and then as quickly as it had came, it had passed, and her attention was back on Skyla as she was lowered to the ground. "Well, I've signed up for Charms and Muggle Studies. Shouldn't be too hard right?" Moira gave a half smile and gave Skyla a once over. She did look thin, but she doubted she could lift her.

Selena looked around the common room, expecting to see Damian somewhere around. She was surprised that he wasn't. Since the feast in the Great Hall, Damian and Anna hadn't really stopped talking, so it was odd to see Anna sitting there alone. "Are you waiting for something?" Selena asked Anna, though she knew that if Anna was waiting, then it was something Damian-related that she was waiting for.
At this point, Damian came back into the room. "Hi Selena. Where have you been off to?" he asked her in the inquisitive brother tone that he always talked to her in. He then turned his attention to Anna. "I got the album!" he said happily, handing her a slightly scorched, bound book. On the cover were the words: The Russian Dragon Preserve. Damian felt a bit embarrassed by the fact that the title wasn't too creative, but it was informative.

Anna nodded to Selena with a content expression on her face, sprinkles of impatience showing through. The phrase "patience is a virtue" was a phrase Anna responded to with "Oh, boo" as was her latest new phrase she said. "Yeah, your brother." She said in an informative tone, though she gave only the bear minimum of information. Just then, Damian came back in. Now she looked a tad eager. "Speak of the devil," She muttered under her breath, grinning innocently right after she'd done so so as to throw off Damian's suspicions he would surely about what she'd just said when that action almost always did the opposite. "'Bout time. You didn't get lost, did you? I mean, after five years you shouldn't still be getting lost." She stopped teasing him for the moment and snatched the album from him.
"Nice title." She smirked and examined the book itself for half a second, admiring the singed binding. "Get in a squabble, did you? Some dragons didn't like their pictures?" Then she began flipping through it, intent on the pictures.
