When she knew she was on Clan territory again, and Duskpaw was close, Darkmist bounded towards the half-caged area, the closer she got the worse it smelled, and the hills of twoleg garbage became larger. "That is carrionplace, where we sometimes have to find some crow-food to eat...rarely, though. Some twoleg food is okay, but there are a lot of rats, with infectious bites."

((We should have a few rats attack them. Perfect time to teach Duskpaw about fighting. 8'D))
Duskpaw wrinkled her nose and took a step back. The stench was overwhelming. "It's so repulsive though." Eating this trash was the last thing on Duskpaw's list of things to do. She could feel as though millions of rats had their gaze upon her and her mentor. It sent chills up her spine. What if they attacked?

She only shrugged. "Clans become desperate, and the last thing our past leaders would do is beg for food from other Clans-" Darkmist heard something scuttle behind her. She turned to see a good few rats. Her claws immediately unsheathed. "Looks like you're going to learn battle moves early."

Duskpaw spun around to come face-to-face with three giant rats. Duskpaw jumped on a rat and dug her claws in it's fur. That's what she should do right? Instantly the other two rats were upon her and she slashed her claw wildly hoping to inflict damage.

Darkmist threw them off of her apprentice, after shaking them madly, her teeth securely in the scruff. "That's the scruff shake. Good at killing rats, but you'll need to be bigger to be able to do it..." Something made her crash onto the ground, and Darkmist swiftly rolled over, seemingly pinned by a large rat. It flew off after a swift kick. "All right, we need to get out of here..."

Duskpaw nodded after kicking at some rats she dashed foward as she looked back she noticed that the rats were following her. She grabbed one by the scruff and shook it remembering what Darkmist had taught her.

Darkmist scared off, if not killed, most of the rats near her, explaining the moves as she used them. "Need any help?" she asked, getting tired.

"No." Duskpaw gasped for breath and as soon as it came she was at it again. Five rats were in front of her. She grabbed one by the scruff and flung it at another rat. Three more. She pounced on one and clawed its fur. Two more. She grabbed them both miracously and flung them away. Unaware that another rat loomed behind her she lunged at more rats. That was when the rat slammed on her. She clawed back, but it wasn't working. The rat scored its filthy claws on her face and she felt her right side screaming with pain.

"You remind me of Ebonyheart." she said before seeing Duskpaw hurt. "Filthy!" Darkmist flung herself at the creature, headbutting it then kicking it. She hissed menacingly at the rest of them, now standing in front of the injured apprentice. The black she-cat had not expected so many rats this far out. Either way, she'd kill anything that would lay its paw on her kin.

Duskpaw didn't hear Darkmist over the screeches of the rats. She slowly staggered up and felt blood dripping down her face. She saw with one eye a rat coming up behind her. Ignoring the scream of pain from her face she spun around snarled and clawed at the rat's pelt.

Darkmist threw a rat that had dared to jump on her pelt into another, and looked towards Duskpaw again, noticing the drops of blood on the ground. "Duskpaw! Get out of here! Run to camp, and don't look back! Now!"

((Is it alright if I let Starpelt join for awhile to help with Duskpaw's recovery?))
Duskpaw only heard the words "Run" and "Camp". As fast as she could she stumbled foward. But... But... Darkmist had never shown me a route from here to camp. She managed to pick herself up and run in the direction of what she thought was camp. After ten foxlenghs or so she collapsed. She couldn't get away. She was too weak...

Darkmist swerved around to see how Duskpaw was doing, rat blood on her claws and fangs. The lump on the ground not too far away didn't completely suprise her, and after clawing the other rats that were near, she barreled towards the apprentice, picking her up by the scruff, and ran the other way to camp.

Duskpaw felt herself being lifted off the ground by a cat. She knew that she probably didn't make it far away from Carrionplace. She relaxed herself and let the other cat carry her.
Starpelt had been gathering herbs when she smelyt the sour scent of blood. She ran in the direction of the scent and nearly collided with Darkmist. "What happened?" She asked as she focused her concerned eyes on the mangled shape of whateemed to be a cat.

"Rats." she almost hissed. Stupid scrap of fur, how could a medicine cat not be able to see or atleast scent? Darkmist looked behind to see if any were following. "They expanded territory."
