Kallisto blinked as her fists met nothing but air and she slowed, gaze sweeping round in front of her. Not seeing Grave, she spun, backing up as she did so, eyes narrowed and fists up in a defensive posture. When she finally spotted Grave, she tried her spell again, elemental quinary. And then flung another circle up, this one sextile. Their battle was heating up and she wanted to be ready.
(( Actions: Elemental Quinary : Elemental – target suffers -3 pts of dmg or defense to physical moves they make; last 3 rounds, 40% Sextile: After sextile has been cast, the caster can call upon it at any time but only for an offensive action. The caster can only do this once per time the spell has been cast and only one sextile spell can be active per caster at any one time. When called upon, sextile grants a -20% difficulty bonus to the caster when they feel the time is right to strike, 40%
Dice order: Quinary, Sextile))

Grave felt the spell wash over him in the same uncomfortable sensation of saltwater drying on and pinching his skin. He rolled his shoulders and moved in forming mushti and sending out another Strength card. There was no point in trying to dance and feint this strike, Grave decided grimly. He had to have a solid footing to put his all into his kick. He snapped his foot out towards her thigh, trying to make it have the sharp, swift finish of the Academics to focus the attack.
((10/15

Kallisto jumped back from the kick, deactivating the hoverboots as she did so and dropped back to the ground. Then she whipped out her hand in a haeto strike, focused entirely on that strike. If she could make it, the duel might just be hers.
After that strike, she kept forward with an intense look in her eye and struck out with another punch.
((15/15
Actions
Sextile active - -20% on chosen action (chosen action is haeto) Demon's dance in effect - 3x damage (last turn)
Haeto - Haeto does 6 points of Damage (due to the demon's dance), and stuns the opponent for 1 turn, 20%. (if successful block, no stun)
Punch - 25%, 12 damage

Grave saw the strike as it began, and saw the good form behind it. He knew how strong Kallisto was, and knew that with the way she stacked her moves, she put all her eggs into one basket for an all or nothing strike. He'd have to be faster than her if he was going to defend against this and stay in the fight. Being an Academic, he was faster than her; he could do it if he just timed it right. There! He saw where he'd need to go, he moved, using his Academic Speed and Dodged under the haeto, pulling his hand into Pran as he targeted Kallisto's groin with a kick. As he kicked he tapped his Howlite Aberration and set him free to join the fray, and followed his mudra hand up with a punch, hoping to catch her off guard in the wake of his kick.
((10/15
Speed: +4 to defend, 30% (success) Dodge: 5 to defend, 25% (success) Pran Mudra: -5 to targeting, 30% (fail = targeting still a 10% diff) Targeting - Groin: +10 (-5 from Pran = +5%) difficulty on kick. Winds 1 turn, increases difficulty to use strength and stamina 5%. (success) Kick: 3 damage, 30%. (25% +5% difficult from targeting) (fail) Punch: 2 damage, 25%. (success)
Dice order: Speed, Dodge, Mudra, Targeting, Kick, Punch.))

So close, she nearly didn't see the kick and tried to twist away that took her outside the other's reach. As she moved she tried to block his punch as well, unsurprised by his speed and precision. Grave was one of the people she knew had an outstanding ability to fight... perhaps he'd finally mastered his skills well enough to shine?
She hoped so.
When she fell to the ground, she twirled and tried to trip and grapple him, one hand quickly activating Jadeite to set her free and face against Howlite. Following her grapple up, she rolled back to try and throw the melacholy in the hopes of gaining some space.
((15/15

Grave faltered for just a moment before Kallisto clamped onto him. She was so much stronger than he was and Grave had a sudden surge of dread as he wracked his brain in that split second as to what he should do. There was no way he could contend with Kallisto in a grapple...unless... Grave didn't bother trying to fight her, instead he set his feet into musubi-dachi-heiko stance. Then, sure enough, Kallisto threw him and Grave pushed off into a jump and formed two mudras, Bhudy with one hand and Mushti with the other and then he released his Tomb from his technoring. He landed with all the snap and precision of the academics and hoped it would be enough to absorb the shock from the throw. Seeing the space now gained, he cast Strength out of his Tomb and prepared his assault.
((10/15

Howlite settled into form, glowing white and shining in the light of the duel. Howlite took a moment to resiter that he was in fact in a fight and realized he'd not yet served in one for this master. Howlite soared upward to get a better view of the battelfield and took tally on the odds. At the moment, his master was taking a defensive stance, so Howlite let fly his Lunar Beam directed at Kallisto. ((15/15 Lunar Beam……….Effect: 4 points of magical damage, 6 points to Elements weak against Light.……….Difficulty: 30%……….Action: 4/5 Light Shield……….Effect: Defends against 4 points of magical damage, 6 points of Light aligned magic.……….Difficulty: 30%……….Action: 5/5 Virtue……….Effect: Takes the best skill of the master (select one to apply Virtue to) and lowers the difficulty to perform it by 5% each turn until Howlite is defeated or retired, at which point the skill returns to normal levels.……….Difficulty: 40%……….Action: 3/3))

Kallisto frowned as she felt the throw turn into a launch for Grave and shifted around to look at him just in time to see him try to cast a spell. Without thinking, she tapped the ring with the ether armor in and paused while it swirled into existence around her torso, glad to have bought it a while ago.
Quickly, her fingers drew out the symbols for one of the first spells she'd learned and was most familiar with - Quinary. Specifically Chromatic Quinary. and hoped she did a good enough job of it for Grave was a dangerous opponent if he started casting spells.
(( 11/15
Action Quinary - 40% (Chromatic - target suffers +5% difficultyto all mental efforts like mudras and spellcasting)

Likewise, Jadeite soared away and settled above Kallisto, scanning the area. Realizing they were in a fight situation, Jadeite started to turn and fully inspect the place... Kallisto was on the offensive, safe for now...
And then she spotted Howlite and the attack. Immediately, the Abberation cast Earth Shield and returned the attack with her own Eclipse Beam.

Grave inwardly cursed himself, while without his expression only grew more serious. He'd muddled a spell he'd used so many times before! He focussed his attention and took a deep breath, needing all his attention due to the headache of the Quinary in effect. He carefully formed his Mushti, and then pressed his hands together into Prayer. He exhaled deeply and readied himself to reattempt his spell, and selected another page of Strength from his Tome tore it uot and tossed it into play. Then he dashed in with the best of his speed and lunged a kick at Kallisto, focussing on power rather than finesse for a change.

Howlite focussed on jadeite as she materialized and his vibrations increased, heightening his impetus. At the moment, she did not seem to be doing anything, so Howlite looked back to the fight, to see his master failing to catch magic. Blinking languidly, Howlite directed his Virtue at Grave's Grimoire Spell Casting. And then sent another Lunar Beam at Kallisto, keeping his attentions peaked for some move from Jadeite. ((15/15 Lunar Beam……….Effect: 4 points of magical damage, 6 points to Elements weak against Light.……….Difficulty: 30%……….Action: 3/5 Light Shield……….Effect: Defends against 4 points of magical damage, 6 points of Light aligned magic.……….Difficulty: 30%……….Action: 5/5 Virtue……….Effect: Takes the best skill of the master (select one to apply Virtue to) and lowers the difficulty to perform it by 5% each turn until Howlite is defeated or retired, at which point the skill returns to normal levels.……….Difficulty: 40%……….Action: 2/3))
