Frostfur paused for a heartbeat at the sight of the she-cats, before moving to stand by his mentor. "Hello." He mewed, nervously glancing at the she-cats. He was positive the blush he felt could be seen through his thick fur. "My name is Frostfur."
Frostfur shifted his weight a bit. He'd stepped a bit funny on the way there and now one of his hind paws ached.

Cinderpelt had finished putting together the traveling herbs she would need for the journey to the moonstone and had eaten them, but she had also made another bundle for a certain apprentice she anticipated would accompany her. Setting it just outside the medicine den, the grey she-cat made her way around camp, looking for Mistpaw.
(Blah, sorry, I'll throw her into the rp more. I don't remember if I got the response on Mistpaw being able to come or not. I'll talk to Kiomori about jumping over to this thread to join us too Xp)

Starpelt nodded towards the apprentice. He must be one too like her. She sat down and awaited the ThunderClan medicine cats to arrive.

Mistpaw raced around the camp after hearing that Cinderpelt would take her to the Moonstone. The small apprentice nearly ran right into the medicine cat after swerving around a group of grooming cats. "Cinderpelt, can I really come to the Moonstone with you?" she asked with bright eyes.

Larksparrow's whiskers quivered as she tried to keep herself from lashing out at Koisplash. She'd never seen the cat accompanying around before, and his pelt still had its own tang lying just beneath the fishy scent of Riverclan.
If he wasn't clanborn, there were few options left.
None of them good.
With great restraint the white she cat made her fur lie flat, meeting Koisplash's gaze with her bright blue eyes.
"Where is Frostfur from?" she mewed.

Cinderpelt jumped in surprise as the smaller grey cat nearly hurtled into her. She flicked her tail with amusement and smiled at Mistpaw. "Of course you can come! Starclan must meet you and approve my decision to take you as an apprentice before you can begin your training." She explained, pleased at seeing the young she-cat so eager to go, "Before we leave, I have prepared some traveling herbs that you must eat, as we cannot hunt on the journey. They are right outside the medicine den; eat them and meet me by the gorse tunnel." The Thunderclan medicine cat made her way over to the entrance of the camp and looked up at the half-moon as she waited. Surely the other two clans would be waiting for them already at the Windclan boarder. They were late.

Frostfur felt that it would probably be best if he stayed silent. He didn't like the feeling he got from the she-cat (Larksparrow? Or was she Heartpool? She never did give her name), it was like she hated him for no reason.
He knew of the distrust between the forest-born and the kittypets. Koisplash and a few other warriors had told him so. Silvershallow had played a few tricks on him until Hawkfrost had put a stop to that. While he was grateful the older cat seemed to be looking out for him, he knew it wasn't because Hawkfrost was worried about him. He was more worried about the impact on the clan if anything happened to the new Medicine Cat Apprentice.

Koisplash had hoped that Frostfur's kittypet background could go undiscovered for now. But of course Larksparrow was the one nit-picking about it, so she'll have to find out sooner or later.
He glanced over at him, seeing that he was nervous as well. Though he's convinced that Starclan will accept him as a medicine cat apprentice, he couldn't say the same for the she-cat.
Turning back to Larksparrow, he spoke in a confident voice. "Does it matter where he is from? What counts is where the heart lies, not where it came from. Backgrounds should not be a factor here."

"Backgrounds and tradition are everything," Larksparrow mewed softly back. "If we do not follow the warrior code, if we do not follow the paths of our ancestors, we are nothing. Does Riverclan have no clanborn cats worthy of becoming a medicine cat?"
Her comment wasn't exactly harsh. To the right ears it may have even sounded sad.
"I did not think a medicine cat could be so foolish as to trust an outsider who owes nothing to the clans," she continued. "Kittypets are born into a different life. They are not prepared for the trials forest life will put before them. You do not know if he'll stick around when he is needed."
With that Larksparrow turned to look at the sky, shaking her head. What were the cats of Starclan thinking?

Mistpaw nodded and headed toward the medicine cat den. She spotted a small bundle on the ground and sniffed it. It didn't smell like anything she wanted to eat, but if it meant going on the trip, she had to do it. The young cat closed her eyes and swallowed the leaves. They didn't taste good, but at least they were gone. She shook herself and went to the gorse tunnel where Cinderpelt was waiting.

Frostfur nearly wept with relief at his mentors words. That was one less hurdle he would have to jump, though he knew his path would be filled with more of them, each much more difficult then the last.
He winced though, at Larksparrows words and felt a sense of failure envelope him. "I will be a good Medicine Cat." He mewed softly, though doubt strongly colored his words. His gaze sharpened, "I wont be a burden to Riverclan, and I wont abandon them in their time of need!"

Starpelt watched quietly as the cats argued. She felt it was not her place to talk so silently she watched hopeing there would be no fight. She wondered why Larksparrow dispised kittypets so much.

Cinderpelt's gaze lit up when she saw the apprentice making her way towards her and she nodded approvingly when she scented the traveling herbs on Mistpaw. "Alright, follow me now. We've got to meet the other clans' medicine cats at Windclan's boarder and we're late." With that said, the grey she-cat climbed out of the gorse tunnel and began pelting through Thunderclan's territory as swiftly as her crippled leg would allow her. The night air was crisp as her breath billowed out behind her like a ghostly trail. Her paws followed the path instinctively and she wondered if the other clans would still be waiting. Before long, they reached the Fourtrees clearing, and Cinderpelt led Mistpaw straight on through to the Windclan side. They emerged from the bushes at the boarder and the Thunderclan medicine cat slowed her pace and raised her tail in greeting to the other cats, her amber gaze traveling over the familiar shapes and picking out a few that were new to this journey.
"Sorry we're late," She meowed as she approached them, "I had a few things that needed to be taken care of before we left." She nodded her head to Larksparrow and Koisplash, pleased to see them again. "How have your clans been doing since the last gathering? I noticed you've both gotten new apprentices by the looks of it. Starclan will have quite a lot of welcoming to do this night." She glanced to Mistpaw and flicked her tail for the younger cat to join her before returning her gaze to the others proudly, "Meet Mistpaw, she will be my new apprentice and so far she's done an impressive job of learning herbs and healing techniques!"

"You do not know that for sure, Larksparrow. You're basing your assumption off an ordinary kittypet, and Frostfur is no ordinary one. He had to guts to escape his soft life, he will do well as a medicine cat.
Remember that it's up to Starclan to choose whether he is fit or not. It's not in your power either way-"
Koisplash caught the foresty scent of more cats, and whirled around to find the Thunderclan medicine cat, along with her new apprentice. He purred with satisfaction, and an excuse to break up the arguement.
"Hello Cinderpelt and Mistpaw. Glad to see we aren't going to have a shortage on medicine cats soon." He laughed a bit and gave them both a smile.
"Since we are all here, except Windclan of course, shall we get moving?"

Starpelt let out a small purr as the ThunderClan medicine cats came. She was excited that they would finally go to the Moonstone. "Hi Mistpaw." She mewed friendly to the young she-cat.
