Brass Knuckles, cause a master of the brass knuckles would know the body's presice weak bone points, and the perfect way to hit it with hurting one's self.
Plus I just love the weapon.

i do not like to consider myself a weapon. I would like master the staff or the knife, becuase they are the most practical weapons for the average american to know. Almost anything can be used as a staff and it is legal to caryy knifes where as a lot of areas have heavy restrictions on guns, swords, nunchuks(illegal nationwide without a note from an instructor) kamas, etc.

For the sake of enjoyment, I like working with staffs and sais. But if I could choose to be proficient with any weapon it would probably be knives. Knives have the fewest restrictions and are most often involved in muggings and attacks. Training with a knife lets you know its strengths, weaknesses, limitations, etc. It seems like having knife training would make it easier to fight against one. And if you carry a knife with you, which a surprising number of people do, then it'd be good to know how to use it well.

Statistical fact: If you carry a knife you are far more likely to get cut/stabbed. There's also a saying about knife fights that is very true. Winner drips, loser gushes. To illustrate that point, with a partner, both put on old rubbish white tshirts you dont want anymore, then "spar" with large marker pens and see what happens...

Really good knife training teaches you to prepare for that fact. You WILL get cut in a knife fight. If you don't you are just lucky, or your opponent is still standing.
I would definetly want to become proficient with short sticks(kali). considering I'm already on my way I think its more of a realistic goal. you get the same "live by, die by" experience with most weapons though, even sticks. I've had the welts to prove it razz

I doubt that statistic is based on anything other than correlational data though. Correlation doesnt imply causation. It might not be that you are more likely to be stabbed BECAUSE you carry a knife, it could be that the stat is based on the fact that people who carry knives are people who are more likely to get into knife fights in the first place. I know, off topic >.<

I know, off topic >.< But dont you see? Thats one and the same thing. If you are the type of person to carry a knife, you are the type of person to get in a knife fight, ergo you are the type of person to get stabbed. Either way its a bad result. Forget "learning to use a knife" and learn sticks like Neph said. Because a) You can find sticks anywhere. b) You cant get arrested for carrying a stick. c) You cant get touched with a stick then bleed out all over the floor... Someone could kill you with a stick but they'd have to trying to kill you, whereas with a knife it just happens.

My personal favorite is pipes, they're everywhere! You better believe a stick is just as lethal to!

I want to learn the chain rope, double sword ended staff, and naginata.
I know it's not practical, but you never know.
