Squireof the son I'm his son. When he calls me by name I'll be happy, and jump for joy. Till that day comes, I'll serve him, and follow him. My name has no translation as far as I know. Except the reason my Dad gave it to me (his favortie QB, Brain Allen Sype). My username though. Squire of the son. I am a student of the Son of God, who trains from childhood to death to be like him. It's my life's devotion, and job. (medivel-fanatic warning). Yargh, me too! blaugh (About the medieval obsession...)

My name (Elizabeth) literally means Consecrated to God, which I find funny because I didn't grow up in a very religious household, but my faith is one of my strongest aspects, I feel.

Both my name(Nikalus) and the name I wish my parents had given me(Nicodemus) mean "conqueror of the people" and I feel as if God calls me his son most of the time. I feel as if he's calling me into youth ministry. So, it's like I'm supposed to conquer kids in a spiritual sense.

My name is Matthew Joseph -----. Matthew means "Gift of G-d" in Hebrew. Joseph, also Hebrew, means "He shall add." ------ means "Nailmaker" in German. So apperiantly I'm a bag of nails with interest. Interesting. The name I WANT - and almost was named, Nathan, is also Hebrew, and it, too, means "Gift of G-d." And the last name I wanted (my mother's maiden name) means "Kosher Butcher" in German. So I was almost an expensive steak with intrest. Go figure. But, I'm with Fugisha- names are not important. Your soul is what counts.

My name has no Biblical meaning whatsoever. Roxi is Persian for 'dawn'. I kinda always hated my name. It's lame. It's not really any relevant to my personality and when people hear it they think of a stripper :XP:
But I think God calls me 'warrior'. At least, that was the first word to come to my mind. Maybe protector or lion or soldier or some such. I'm a pretty aggressive person and I have got some guts, let me tell you. I kind of have that warrior spirit. =^^=

My friend knew someone named Bambi Victoria. Now THAT my friend is a stripper name.
Anyway, I suppose the main thing God calls me is "lover of all" for lack of a better term. I feel like my purpose in this world is to love people as completely and unconditionally as I can.

In any case, if you can't laugh at yourself, you just take things too seriously. Every last one of us is silly. Especially me 3nodding

I do wonder what name I'll be given in heaven, though.

I do wonder what name I'll be given in heaven, though. Heh...I got picked on a lot in school. I HAD to learn to laugh it off. And really, I have a lot of stuff top laugh at. As long as no one is thinking any less of me for it, I'm good. I just make sure the whole world is laughing with me rather than at me ^^

I've always hated my first name, but I found out it means believer in Christ. I do agree, names don't make the person, however, my middle name I am very proud of considering I'm the seven generation who bears that name (which means pure one). There is something meaningful when your parents take time to find just the right name for you.

I don't know what God's name for me is. Child, Daughter, Servant; at one point or another they all apply.
While earthly names don't matter so much, it's sometimes fun to discuss them. My first name (Samantha) was originally derived from the Hebrew Samuel (Heard by God/God has heard), but something was lost in the translation to female Aramaic, because Samantha means Listener. *grins* But I don't mind.

Well, if we're gonna talk about given names, mine isn't biblical at all. Andrea is the female derivative of Andrew, which, last I read, means "man." So ... I guess my name means "woman"? confused When I have children, I want to name my first son Isaiah, not only because I love the way the name sounds, but he was an amazing prophet. My first daughter I would like to name after my best friend...
I guess that's definitely a girl thing to pick out baby names before you're even seeing anyone. sweatdrop
