When God says my name, he is calling me his lamb. I am a lamb of God, and he is my shepard.
What does your name mean - what is God calling you when he says your name?
This is just a nice, lets think about God topic, with no discussion, worries, fights or any of that.
God bless. heart

I don't like it when God calls me names. crying
Seriously, my names mean roughly "beloved/dear to God" and "God's grace/mercy".
Hopefully knowing that will give me a better sense of purpose. 3nodding

God calls me Beloved. I am a child of God, a princess in Christ. For if He is the Kind of Kings, and we are all His children then we must be Princes and Princesses for we are the children of a King. I am His beloved child.

If God calls me by name, it means I can let out a shuddering breath and just sink against the wall, knowing I'm OKay.
My name means Defender of God in Hebrew. whee

My name (Ellen) means 'luminous' from Greek.
It would be a great compliment for me if God were to say, when I finally finish my life on earth, "You lived up to your name."

My name means, "Protector of Man"... I think Giod gave me this name to represent my love of people and how I love to help people! If God were to call my name, I would be... so happy. So happy words couldn't express! heart

awwww you guys have cool names. I like my name, but I don't like what it means. Mostly because no one can figure out what it means. It apparently means "to bind" or cow or captivating or servant of god. I'll take servant of God thank you very much.

I think the TO meant more what God calls you when He speaks to you rather than what your actual parent-given name is. My name has nothing to do with what God calls me, because He calls me by my true name, the name He has given me and that He will call me by when He calls me home. But when He speaks to me, I feel He is calling me "daughter" more than anything. I am His daughter, His princess, and He is my Father Who made me, Who knows me, Who loves me, and Who died so that I could be with Him for eternity. 3nodding

Fushigi na Butterfly I think the TO meant more what God calls you when He speaks to you rather than what your actual parent-given name is. I am sure that my names signify something of my purpose and/or nature, which is why I mentioned their meanings.
When I'm in prayer, one of God's favourite names for me is "Son" in line with the way I address Him. I've also felt Him address me depending on the issue about which I'm praying, or a particular worry on my mind. Sometimes it's comforting, sometimes it's strict, but it's always strengthening and reinforcing.

My name, roughly translated, (Fabiana) means "bean farmer." Or that's what "Fabian" means. xd I guess God wants me to farm beans. But maybe "beans" could be a metaphor, like how Jesus uses fruit from a tree. Or like "fishers of men." Like I'm supposed to harvest people. whee lol Heh.

My name is Zoe and translated from Greek it means "life". I like my name and when God calls me, I'm glad my name doesn't mean "death". I am proud to have God call me by my personality. 3nodding

I'm his son. When he calls me by name I'll be happy, and jump for joy. Till that day comes, I'll serve him, and follow him. My name has no translation as far as I know. Except the reason my Dad gave it to me (his favortie QB, Brain Allen Sype). My username though. Squire of the son. I am a student of the Son of God, who trains from childhood to death to be like him. It's my life's devotion, and job. (medivel-fanatic warning).
