User ImageThis is ultimately her purpose in life, to be there for those who need comfort and guidance the most. It has always been thus, and she's of the sort who doesn't shirk her role. It's who she is, what she does, and what her soul says is right.

Holding him close, she soaks in the negative emotions that have been plaguing her dear friend. Taking them into herself, or at least as much as she can without threatening her sanity, she tries to ease his burden. It's instinctive that she starts to murmur a prayer to her Heavenly Father, asking for his blessing for Silver, and requesting that He guide her Guardian down the path of forgiveness and atonement, for himself as well as others. She whispers of her love for the fa'e in her arms, and how she knows He loves him, also. "... for he has served me, and in so doing you, Father, so faithfully. He now stumbles, and feels the sting of guilt for doing so. May you catch him up in your arms and carry him through these difficult times. I thank you for your gifts unto us, Father, especially your listening ear. By your loving light, amen."

Eventually, the tears run dry, and he sits back a little, still holding Shina, eyes still closed. Eventually he'll open them, and give a half smile, almost shyly. "Its good to have you back Shina. More then I can ever put into words..."

He'll brush the back of a hand across her cheek, and lean back into the tree, looking up at the sky as he is lost in thought, eyes far and distant. "Not all the news, at least on my end, is bad at least. I'm, ah, kinda seeing someone right now..."

User ImageAs her cheek is brushed she smiles, then tucking her head back under his chin as the half-fa'e nestles against him once more. They are like two siblings, snuggled up together and speaking of what only those related by blood can truly comprehend. Admittedly, an outside observer might think otherwise, as lovers also often cuddle as they are now, but those who know Shina and Silver would likely smack that silliness out of anyone else's heads.

"Going to tell me about her?" Her tone carries with it a hint of playfulness, which is rather miraculous considering the powerfully emotional moment they just shared.

"Maaaaaybe. Depends on how nicely you ask, oh ward of mine." He'll chuckle deep in his chest so that she can feel it from the way she's laying, and stretch out his legs, seemingly completely relaxed, which in truth he is, for the first time in a long, long time. "Besides, you havn't told me anything about what you have been off doing my silly angel, and don't think you can talk your way out of it..."

User ImageShe echoes his chuckle, though hers is soft and musical in quality, as if numerous individuals are ringing tiny silver bells in harmony. "I wouldn't dream of that, my friend. There's much to explain, but I shall strive to keep it short."

A pale hand lightly pokes him in the side. "Promise me something first, please. I want to meet her. You can choose the time, the setting, whatever you wish, but I want to meet her."

"You will. Reason I brought her up. You'll met her, and her adopted son as well." He'll smile a little, a touch of contentment on his face. "But, your evading, so now its time for little shina to tell the big bad wolf a story, before I bend you over my knee and spank you..."

User ImageBlue ringed blue eyes meet Silver's readily, and for a moment the half-fa'e seems rather serene. She's calm, quiet, and studying the features of her old friend. Taking her time, she sits up a bit more. All the better to look Silver in the face.

It's not till several seconds pass does she lightly tap her friend on the tip of his nose with a single fingertip. "You? Spank me? Hah! Even if you claim to be a "big bad wolf", I know you haven't that in you, Silver." A slow grin bears the fruit of more words, Shina's silvery voice loving, if hinting at a buried sadness, as she continues, "I went in search of Hoshi. I tracked him from place to place, but he always seemed to be just ahead of me, every time."

That is when she looks away, to hide the flash of guilt and longing that she knows will show. She can't tuck these emotions away when they are still so raw. Just saying Hoshi's name feels like a hand is squeezing her heart, another twisting up her insides.

He'll give a playful n** at the finger that tapped his nose, and sit and listen for a while, eyes closed. "So, you went looking for you love. Worthwhile journey, to be sure." He'll stop a moment, eyes opening as he looked at her, raising an eyebrow. "And the results?" He'll prepare himself for the worst, and hope for the best. It was the same way back when they lived the first time. He always hoped things would be the best, but was prepared for the worst. Some days, even now, that was the only way he made it through them...

User ImageThe results ... Had there been results? She had thought so, once. Yet Hoshi has not returned. Surely her information had been accurate? Surely her message had reached him? "I received a letter. It was by his hand, I'm certain of it. It read that he would be coming home, very soon, and to wait for him."

A soft sigh, and then, "I'm glad I returned, if only for the opportunity to be with Sei while he is yet a child, and to see my family and friends again. Yet I miss him still. I feel so selfish when I think on him and find myself wishing I could bury myself in my memories forever ..."
PostPosted: Thu Jan 03, 2008 10:27 pm

Well, not the best, but not the worst either..."Sometimes we have to abandon memories. We live here, in the present. Not in the past, which are the domain of memories, or the future, which is the domain of plans. So all you can do M'lady, is to live here and now the best you can. Not saying that you shouldn't miss him, cause i don't blame you for missing him, but don't let that make you miss the joys and living you could be doing right here and now." He'll stand up, streaching slowly as his joints popped one by one.

User ImageAs Silver rises Shina adjusts so she's now the one sitting by the tree. Wings tuck up and back, though their feathers do scrape in part against the bark of what the angelic half-fa'e is now resting her head against. "I see you have decided to remember the lessons we went over so long ago."

She smiles and closes her eyes, trying to relax and unravel the knot in her gut. "I won't allow myself to miss a thing. Here and now, these are when my focus needs to concentrate upon. Ah, and speaking of which, have you met my son?"

Shrugging slightly, he'll look up at the sky. "Never said I was all that good of a student." He'll smile over his shoulder, and stretch his arms up into the sky, popping his back and shoulders as he did so. He felt so old some days, especially when it got cold and damp this time of year.

"Hmmm? Sei you mean? I've met him a few times. Nice kid, and smart to from what I can tell." He'll scratch his head a moment, and turn around, sitting on a stump and facing Shina. "Why do you ask?"

User ImageFinding herself relieved that Silver has met Sei on a few occasions, she tucks her wing forward to cover herself in their feathery warmth. "You've had plenty of time to learn, old friend," she teases the wolf fa'e, though there is a lot of truth in her words. Silver by far has the most experience of them all when it comes to the ups and downs of life, what with how many times he's been reincarnated and now with the memories from each individual existence lodged up in his head. At least, that's what she last remembers his condition being.

"I ask because I would have my son get to know his "Uncle Silver", if you would be so inclined. I want him to be secure in the knowledge that I'll be well taken care of if you accept my next request." Blue on blue eyes meet Silver's and try to hold his gaze. Within them glimmers determination and hope, both traits that fit the angelic half-fa'e like a well worn glove.

"What do you see when you look at me, Silver? Do you see how I've changed?" Pale hands lift and splay their fingers, showing the wolf fa'e their palms. "Can you tell how deep these changes go?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 13, 2008 6:55 pm

Sticking out his tongue at the angel, he chuckled. "Some of us take more time to learn. Or maybe its more patient application of a 2X4 of knowledge to out head by those that love us?" He'll give a smirk, and tilt his head to one side, listening. Request was it?

As she held up her hands, he'll furrow his brow. "Physically, you look different. Spiritually and emotionally though your still the same person. As for how deep the changes go, i suspect, if you scratch the surface, your still the same ol Shina that we know and love. You just have a different way of doing things then you did before. As some options fade, new ones open..."

User ImageHis laugh inspires a smile from the half-fa'e, as always. The belittling of himself draws out a different reaction, with Shina shaking her head. "We've all made our share of mistakes, even those wielding their share of 2x4s."

It's just like Silver to try and reassure his Shina that she's still herself, even after all this time. Yet she sits up, not letting the conversation head down that road. Her individuality is not what's in question here. "As with any of the fa'e, when Sei was born a part of me went to him. I am no longer quite who or what I was." These are facts, spoken with little hint of how long it's taken Shina to fully accept them. "I feel drawn from this place, Silver. There is something that my Father wants me to accomplish. He calls to me, and I feel he is directing me to discover who I'm to become."

Pale hands lower to her lap, fingers tangling together. "I want to ask if you will go with me. I only know the first step in the journey ahead. I have to finish my preparations and then leave, to face the unknown with God's will as my guide. Yet it is my belief that he will not begrudge me the company of my friend and Guardian." She smiles again. This time it reaches her eyes, lighting their blueness from within as candles would from behind stained glass.
