Photon chuckled, "Would seem we have a slight problem then." He winked. "Can ya keep your powers under enough control ta prevent the cities from being destroyed? Ya see, we'd be getting way too much complaints then and... well... let's just say my boss's been shouting more than enough with all the damage that Flashcharge's been doing," he chuckled and winked.
"Nice ta meet ya, in any case. Have ya been livin' all by yerself up in those mountains? Must've been lonely," Photon asked. Even as they spoke, he had motioned to the police officers and they had fallen back a bit. Despite that, they were still aware of their surroundings and LoQuinn. He had started walking to the car, motioning for LoQuinn to follow him.
"We'll be goin' down to da agency now. I'll be introducing ya to my boss. He'll be wanting to meet ya, too."

"Should be able to." he said simply, eyes drifting around to their surroundings. "'Smore of being unable to manipulate it. Has to be something to do with the compounds, I got good enough control of the natural elements. They speak to me, tell me what I can and can't do with 'em." He eased himself from the ridged position he'd been in only moments before. He held his hand out and the dirt on his body removed itself, forming into a sphere in the palm of his hand leaving his clothing spotless.
He gave a grunt at Photon's attempt to delve into his past. If they wanted to know that he'd been smuggled away from them at the age of 13 then they'd have to do their own research, he wasn't going to volunteer any information that might link him to his mother. He followed, despite to police. He wanted to be a hero and this was about as close to a silver platter as he'd gotten thus far. Besides he'd been saved, and if anything he deserved to give Photon a shot. "Not as lonely as you'd think." He'd put his trust in people many times, and many times they'd failed him. It was a statement that would have held true even if he hadn't been trying to hide his mothers identity.
"Sure, but who exactly is your boss?"

Photon nodded at LoQuinn's first words, understanding that. During his carreer he had spoken to tons of evolveds, and most of the elementals would describe the elements as being able to speak to them. He smirked a bit when LoQuinn removed the dirt from clothes. "Ah! Now that must be mighty convenient," he told him, grinning widely.
He hopped into the car and gave LoQuinn a look at his reluctant answer, but didn't say anything about that. He merely nodded in appreciation of the answer. "My boss? Dunno if ya've heard of him, but he's the guy that always appears on tv, issuing statements and whatnot," he shrugged. "Everyone only knows him as Charles. Not even us supers know his last name." He paused for a moment, and then grinned again, relishing some memory. "Not fer lack of trying either!" he laughed, "Man, ya shoulda seen Flashcharge and I, back in the day." He was still grinning broadly.
((bla bla, this'll probably go along one or two replies. I'll set up an RP for LoQuinn meeting Charles? We could keep on going with this one, if you'd like. ;D Character development and all that.))

((I'm fine tagging along this one for a bit more if you're interested. Otherwise we can assume some small talk between LoQuinn and Photon on the subject of his powers with more failed attempts to get anything aside from generic info about his past/training.))
"It definitely comes in handy. You'd be surprised how much you get on you when you spend all day practicing."
He got into the jeep resting an arm on the door frame. "Oh, yeah I think I've seen him. Looks like a lawyer, always in a suit. I thought he was just a PR guy, well I mean I guess he is but not the head honcho."
LoQuinn was entranced, one of his idols talking about 'back in the day' made him feel about the best he could be with the day he'd been having. As he listened he relaxed further allowing the dirt mask he'd been wearing to this point to exit the Jeep and return to the earth.

Photon grinned again, eyes twinkling merrily. "I can only imagine. That sorta thing would really save time on the laundry costs of these things." He pulled at his suit rather ruefully. "Really, ya'd think they'd manage something to repel dirt with all of their gadgets, but nuh-uh. Still haveta be washed manually." He pulled a face, an obvious enough indication he didn't like that.
"Yeah," he agreed to LoQuinn's statement, "Charlie's priss and prim, never a flecka dirt on HIM. Then again, he ain't the one to go out there and do what we do," he winked, his eyes were still twinkling. Photon appeared to be in a very good mood, and even more so when LoQuinn's dirt mask came off.
"Aha! Victory!" He grinned at him. "Some sort of revelation about yerself and not even an hour's passed!" he was grinning triumphantly at the younger evolved.

"Victory eh?" he said with a smirk "Well soak it in cause it's 'bout as much victory as you'll be getting from me for a long time. I'm sure you know better than anyone else the need to keep secrets. You've got a bit of a name and it's got polish if I do say so."
LoQuinn was willing to accept that all of humanity had their fatal flaws, Supers included, but one didn't get to be known as a bastion of good without some truth. Suspending his cynicism this once was likely going to do him no ill. Besides he still had his goggles on. And unless they wanted to do some sort of retinal scan while he slept he'd keep a little bit of his body to himself.
"Just so you know, I mean. I figure that you know you're famous... well, talked about anyway. I heard they were planning on releasing action figures next May."

Photon opened his mouth to respond the Graveler's first words, but whether he was ready to compliment, scold, or throw sarcasm back at him was lost as Graveler gave his afterthought. Photon's mouth shut closed and he turned to look ahead at the road. If Graveler could notice behind those tinted glasses of his, he'd see that Photon's whole face turned red in an embarrassed blush at the statements of his own popularity.
Photon took a breath in, "Yeah, well, I doubt I'll be a part of that. Ain't like I've done nothing recently. You know, out here yer being smart, but don't try and play the secret agent game with Charles, and don't take it so far that ya place yerself on a lonely plain. There are trustworthy people, and you gotta take that leap of faith and trust just to stay sane. And you gotta just follow procedure and admit to Charles who you are, or else we can't help ya."
Photon's words hadn't gotten heavy and serious, though they'd lost the extreme light heartedness of a few moments ago.

Mood killer. Two words that often walked hand in hand with LoQuinn Sumert. He was good at grounding things by over thinking a situation coupled with bad timing and poor delivery. He wasn't sure what had stunned him. Though he wondered how many could boast about making Photon pause. LoQuinn guessed vainly that he had more fingers.
"So you've given him your name then? The names of your loved ones, your friends, your family? Addresses? Telephone numbers?"
LoQuinn wanted to dissect Photons reply and badger him to see how much trust the Super had in a man. He was being paranoid, neurotic.
"Sorry," he said a little sheepishly "it's just not possible right now."

"Who says I have any of those to give him, or had a choice if I did?" Photon asked, matter-of-factly but not darkly. He took a breath, "Ain't everyone as lucky as you must be, if you got all those. He's the government though, it ain't gonna be long before he finds out a lotta of that stuff from you even if you don't volunteer it. He'll get it one way or the other. It ain't hard, really, once you start searchin'. You know, like Sir Aquifer. Everyone knew who he really was, and that was 'cause of his beginnings, but even now that he's gone and taken an alias, it ain't hard to figure him out. And he's over in the United Kingdom. Just gotta know how to look things up, ain't even gotta be like the government. Ya see, we can't live on an island. That ain't possible. But we can change the island we're on. I guess that's what yer out here trying to do?"

Lucky. Yeah, that about summed it up. Even though it really meant that he had an awful lot to lose. It was obvious that he'd given more than he'd intended to but he wasn't going to chastise himself.
"So you're saying that there's no real way to keep the ones I love safe? Even if you put everyone I know into witness protection, someone will find a way." He knew that at this very moment there were only three people in the world who really knew him. Samuel the man who had betrayed and left him years ago, his mother who had always been by his side, and Lydia. Truth of the matter was that he only cared about what happened to one.
"I'm out here trying to do the right thing for everyone. For myself so that I have a future, for others so they don't catch the fall back. That means putting distance between me and them as I can. The more time it takes for people to find them the more time they have to run. Because they're nothing but walking, talking leverage to all the wrong people."
LoQuinn wasn't stupid, he knew how the world worked. Hell if he were of the persuasion he'd use every advantage he could muster. Evil people didn't need to worry about the morality of a situation.

Photon frowned as Graveler spoke. He took a few moments to reply as he considered the words, "Just don't take it too far. In anything, the two extremes are always errors."
Photon could understand what Graveler was saying. He didn't entirely disagree, but nor did he think it was healthy; however, also knew that arguing with someone that had his mind decided was useless, especially within the short amount of time they'd met and had time to speak now.
"I'm glad I metcha before that bunch of rocks did." Photon went back to being cheerful, "Even if yer gonna block everyone out, sounds like you got the right idea at least!"

Hearty laughter erupted from LoQuinn despite the scolding. Photon was probably right, and it was unlikely he'd be able to keep people out of his life for all that long. He had a way of letting people under his skin. Complete solitude was impossible for LoQuinn, it just wasn't something he could visualize let alone practice for all that long. Taking a cautious approach was one thing, becoming a hermit was another.
"I'm glad you did too. Never thought that I'd go out being crushed under a ton of my very own specialty. Doesn't read well in the obituary either, 'mystery man killed in freak landslide on flat clearing'. I mean come on, it would've been about as heroic as being smothered by puppies."

Andy laughed along with Graveler, "Reminds me of that movie---Carrie?" He wasn't sure, he'd seen it ages ago, "Well, they were very big rocks, and there are some very ferocious puppies out there. So, what happened anyway? You sent those after her, 'nd she threw them back? Like telekinesis or somethin'? Or was it somethin' else? The reports about this lady are all sketchy. You describin' what she did might be a big help. You lifted 'em, didn't you? How much can you do? It'd be fun to play target practice with you sometime."
Better than a game of paintball was an evolved game of blast the rock.

"Heh, I bet. But I can't even do what she did yet." LoQuinn wasn't sure how to go about diagramming the events.
"Well she was using her abilities before I even showed up, random bits of power here and there. I got to watching her and when I thought like I'd seen enough I tried to get her attention. Figured I'd be safe enough about a hundred yards off so I threw some dirt, to get her attention."
He paused thinking closely about what had actually happened, what it'd felt like.
"It got weird after that. It's like she knew where I was even though I'd started moving soon as I put the earth into the air. And I was silent I mean I wasn't even making vibrations through my feet. Then she drained it all away. It was like the ground just stopped listening to me. She set the ground on me so I couldn't move and made to crush me. Thats when you got there."
LoQuinn paused again figuring he'd field questions and clarify if needed.
"I mean I know my way around rock, dirt, sand, your basic 'earth'. I've got finesse with it, but I'm not up to moving mountains yet. I could probably move about 150-200lbs of solid stone depending on what it's made of. So it wasn't like I could have stopped her, even if I'd had my powers. Redirected things maybe so they missed but I'm not about to win a shoving match."
There was the briefest of urges to hold back what else he could do with his mind but they'd been talking about honesty after all.
"I also have a knack for taking the mineral structures and destroying them. Hard to explain though, so perhaps demonstrations will be in order when we get where ever we're going."

OOC: I'm out of inspiration as to what they can talk about. The jeep ride's going to take some time to get to where they're headed. We can assume they were silent quite a bit of it? Graveler doesn't seem to be much of a talker. Photon would have thrown on some music. They could have talked about pointless things... Photon could have at one point, and likely would have, gone through a drive-thru to get some food, laughing about costume parties he was going to for an old frat club or something. But unless you want to continue, I can't think of much more at this point... ?
Photon listened carefully to what Graveler was saying, storing what he could in his mind, "That's a scary power." He muttered, referring to the woman. "I was just lucky to pull her down the first time, but I guess havin' you distract her was a big help. Sounds like you've done alot of thinkin' about yerself." He clearly approved of that.
