MuDKoRn I wish i was the only korn freak were i live but "korn freaks" heres in my part of australia tend to be the "weird" kid but in my town somehow every one became the "weird" kid. which sucks because everyone tries to compete to be the weird kid, ive won this contest 4 times then three years ago the same person started beating me no ones beaten "her" since I hate it when people (especially adolescents) start competing to be "weird" just for the hell of it. If you're weird because you're different, good on you - but if someone outrightly TRIES to be weird just so they can be seen as different, then that's just ******** stupid. And damn I envy you, I wish there were more Korn freaks where I live. Everyone's a ******** emo, tart or metrofag here in Melbourne. I actually WANNA see more "metalheads" and Korn freaks... it's like a metal drought where I am.

Well my definition of a true Korn fan is not just someone who has seen them 8 times, has 10 Korn shirts, there whole wall is decorated with Korny things, and they have a bit of Jon's, Munky's, and Fieldy's pubes in a little plasitc baggie. But itwhat was discussed in the other thread, loyalty. It basically was the Korn fanbase it all about. I mean sure it really cool to have all those things (especially the pubes) but Loyalty beats those things by a long shot. I cant stand the people who are like "I LOVE KORN SO MUCH! I LOVE ALL THEIR ALBUMS EXCEPT FOR SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE AND UNTITLED!" I wanna punch em in the face when they say that. Truthfully SYOTOS was one of my favorite Korn albums and still is. I always hate it when someone comes up to me at my school and says Korn sucks and happens to be wearing some Panic at the Disco shirt. I just laugh and say "Well at least Korn's music has taste, you like that band because everybody else does, all you are is just a trendfag getting butt ******** by music industry. Instead of focusing on the good bands you focus on the new shitty bands who are "unique" but don't even give credit to the ones who first inspired them. It's tough to find bands that write their own music and obviously you gave up on that. And if you say no one likes Korn tell that to the somewhat 8000 people in the city of Milwaukee who go to see them every year. Then tell that to the 10000 people in Milwaukee who wish they could have seen them but couldn't because something happened to them." (Unfortunately I was one of the 10000.) Of course being the dumbasses they are they just roll their eyes and walk away thinking they are all high and mighty. But I'm also glad Korn isn't too mainstream either, because if they were, they would attract a evil group of people I like to call posers. Much like what happened to Avenged Sevenfold. But yeah, just stay true to Korn, and stick up for them, that is what a true Korn fan is.

Well to be honest, Me, being someone who loves both Metal and Hip hop(Not rap really, but there are some Rap artists that rap about something that makes sense.
I think that KoRn meant the Hold on video to be fun, and they didn't really care about what people might say about the video, because the whole point of KoRn's music is to be yourself, and dont give a ******** about what people think, just be true to yourself(Or thats what I think at least) and I like the Hold on video, and I think that the Twisted Transistor was also supposed to be fun, one of the things i really love about KoRn is that they are breaking up the whole 'Metal vs Rap' thing, They are really breaking through all the mainstream s**t and making a statement saying "Hey, we don't give a ********, we are metal, but we also have a love for Hip hop as well! And if you dont like it ******** OFF!" you know? I really really admire that about them.
Although people who listen to Freak on a leash, or Got the life, and saw the video, and they just download the song, and say they are a KoRn fan, they do kinda make me mad. But Hopefully they will listen to korn more and get their message. If not, oh well, I hope they grow up, if so, then I will welcome them with open arms to the wonderful world of KoRn.
I have a friend, (Who used to NOT be my friend) she was this preppy girl, you know the type, she slept with the whole male student body, and she was popular, and she was pretty etc etc. Well, she went to a party I had and I was playing Faget by KoRn, she asked me what the song was, I told her, and every day after that, shes been at my house, listening to all the KoRn albums, and she even bought her own copies, it turns out she can really relate to KoRn's lyrics. She was so happy, and when she started wearing KoRn shirts instead of Hollister or Abrecrombie, her so called 'Friends' called her a emo b***h and left her, She was sad, but she was glad she was being herself, and now she's one of my best friends.
I don't judge people for what they wear, or how they act, if someone is tired of conforming, and they ask me for help, I'll help them ^ ^. Our world can only get better if we recruit more Original people.
This is just a little story to help when your thinking about helping that 'Prep' out with finding out who they really are.

Excellent point Jashin!! In middle school, everything was about the cliques and what stereotype you were. Ha, take a look at little ol' me. I've NEVER fit into a stereotype. I'm a geek who doesn't have the funds to fuel her knowledge, so I was out of that group. I'm a metalhead who listens to country music and hasn't had an overly difficult life (which has happened before, but those who have had a difficult life are more known). And an Airman who isn't very patriotic at all. *laughs*
That's what I love about KoRn, and metal music in general, it denies stereotypes and labels. The minute a subgenre of metal is named, someone goes out to one-up, take-down, deny, or in some other way out-do that subgenre. Everything from bands who deny the label "gothic metal", to bands who found a new subgenre. KoRn did this nu-metal, obviously, but took it one step further by saying they are not nu-metal, but simply KoRn.
And as to what makes a KoRn fan, or music fan in general?? Ragey once said to me (yes, I'm quoting you xd ) that one doesn't have to own everything by a musician to consider themselves a fan of that person/band. I only own 3 albums by KoRn, and do not own a single piece of memorabilia, but I am, without a doubt, a KoRn fan. Die hard. I think that a fan can even dislike songs or albums of a band's music, so long as they have sound reasoning behind why. And if they don't like the majority of the band's music, they aren't a fan. They just like certain songs or albums. But you don't have to know everything about that band, or own everything by them. You just have to love and listen to what you do have. ((Sorry for the huge post, I kinda got carried away))

...You ******** parasite...
Thank you ^ ^ And I agree 169967070656y7ht06868% with you too! lol As long as you can relate to the lyrics and you like their sound, then in my eyes, your a fan! You don't need to be a KoRn expert, but usually when you love something, you become Obsessed with it.
*gazes at her Jonathan Davis shrine and smiles* Uhh *Ahem* yes, anyway... ((lmao))
Yes, err what was I saying? *forgot the topic and starts drooling over how Hot JD is* lol
no no, in all seriousness, Just enjoy the music man! They're is no need to try and group s**t together and slap a label on it, and like how Otep said "We all come in all Shapes&Sizes" and I believe that wholeheartedly! We are all different and special in our own way, and this is also true for music as well. People always try and put a label on a band, or music type, but in reality, it's all music, just enjoy it and stop worrying about what kind of music it is. If you like it, listen to it. I also had this one friend who was afraid of listening to Marilyn Manson just because she thought people would call her 'Emo' or something like that. I told her to stop worrying about stupid s**t like that, people who call other people Emo, or anything like that are just ignorant, and they're not worth your time. ^ ^
But enough, I've ranted too much already ^ ^
...I'll beat you 'til you DIE...

Eklypse (yay for quoting me xD) and Jashin, I need to give both of you a big hug 3nodding
You guys know what you are talking about, completely rejecting the pretensions that can sometimes accompany the status of 'a true fan'.
And Eklyspe, I know the feeling - luckily I found friends who love me for what I am: a completely random human being filled with many contradictions, who speaks in juxtapositions. We're a unique breed like that xD. Also you're an Airman? :O
