To make planning a little easier, I'm just going to copy'n'paste the overall "goal" of the event:Quote: Well, it's that time of year again. All Hallow's Eve time. Seeing as how the City is a little too Dangerous to repeat last year's adventure in terrifying young Empyreans, Kortus has agreed to take the reigns on this season's festivities. He wants to host a little competition. The Empyreans will be broken up into teams by Alignment. Each Alignment will have to come up with their best idea on what sort of Hallowe'en related room they want to set up. It can be a slasher-movie style, a ghostly graveyard, a mummy's crypt, a pumpkin field. Anything that shouts the Hallowe'en spirit. You have until the 15th to set up your Rooms. Use banners, pictures, drawings, written description, whatever you need to do in order to make your room good. Then, between the 16th and the 30th, the Empyrs will have a chance to mingle around in the four rooms, and vote on which room they like the best. Be sure to visit each room before voting, as each Empyrean may only vote once! On the 31st, the room with the most votes wins prizes for their whole team! I have a feeling that most rooms will be related to terror in some way... so why don't we go about the other way, and focus on the enchantment of Hallow's Eve? I don't know why, but when I first thought of the event, turning a room into the inside of a giant pumpkin struck me. What if there was a huge... pumpkin-cafe, where people go to relax after a night's festivities?
I can picture polished tables with orange-cushioned chairs occupied by Empyrs sipping hot cocoa or tea, listening to music and being served by polite, dressed-up cafedrinkfetchers in costume, ready to chat about the night's experiences. There could be a few games for those still eager to unwind, like... Er, I can't think of any at the moment. ^^;;;
One of the designs/props I'd really love to have is/are floating Will'O Wisps. ICly, we could take an orb, attach it to a string, light a candle in it, then tie it to the ceiling or to the window frame and have it blow in the wind. Just have to make sure it doesn't fall down and start a fire, lawl.
...I guess from an ICly-perspective, most phlegm Empyrs I've seen wouldn't go and re-create an indoor forest complete with hanging suicide victims from the trees. Too sensitive'n'whatnot for that. xd
Thoughts/Opinions? Whatever we decide on, I can create a "screenshot" of the room. :3 My AIM is KitsuMaruMaru and my MSN is firecomet257@hotmail.com should discussing this stuff over IM be easier. heart

This sounds absolutely ADORABLE, Marushii. <3 I really do approve of this! I don't have any art skills, so anything I contribute will have to be otherwise, but I'd be more than happy to help out as much as possible. <3 I'm gone for the weekend until Sunday camping, but after I get back, I'd really like to help out. :3 Just PM me anything any of the team members would like me to try and do, if jobs are assigned whilst I'm away.

Ooh wow that would be cool! I wonder if we're allowed to ask the Professors/Threes/anyone else for help ...
Cause if we are, maybe some of them could make actual magical floating balls of light? And some other things, perhaps ...

I'm hoping we can ask for outside help -- that way, if it turns out that we're lacking some musically-talented Phlegm Empyrs, we could have a small group go to the Dreaming Pool and asking where to find some musicians. xd
...and possibly look around there for some more ideas to add to the "enchantment" factor, since the place strikes me as one filled with secrets and wonder. ^w^

I approve of this idea!
If we need any other art besides Maru's renders, I can help~ I'd probably draw it in Biwa's style, though - very sumi-e.
I can also write stuff, and make banners! heart

First off, we need more ideas. x3
See, with the pumpkin-cafe idea... This is what I see, so far:
It's a cafe! Complete with a stand serving coffee, hot cocoa, tea, etc. Possibly also serve sweets, treats, and food'n'whatnot. Will'O'Wisp-ish decor. If we could get outside-Phlegm help as Manda suggested, having actual ones would be win. *w* Live musicians. It's a cafe, right? 8D Some low-key games. It's a place to relax, but some entertainment aside from musicians might be desired. The door into it? Paper-mache the door to look like the outside of a pumpkin with a sign welcoming people into the whatever-it-shall-be-called cafe.
...this is all, of course, depending on if we continue with the pumpkin-plan. xd

I can see the decor being sort of Tim Burton-esque fairy-tale inspired. Maybe a few well-placed but subtle allusions to the Grimm fairy tales? 3nodding
But yeah, lots of curlies, lots of delicate looking tables/chairs...

So, I looked up some children's Halloween games, for possible ideas of games... Here are a few I thought sounded the most cute, and easiest to translate into this setting. <3
Pumpkin Toss Supplies: * Large pumpkin * Mini-packages of candy bars (enough for each child to have 3-5 tosses)
Preparation: Cut a large hole in the top of the pumpkin. Scrape and clean the pumpkin. This is best done the day of the party for a fresh pumpkin.
Game Play: Line up the children to take turns tossing candy bars into the pumpkin. Kids keep the candy bars that they get in the pumpkin. Give consolation prizes!
Killer - I always loved playing this game when I was a kid. The children should be old enough to be able to wink in order to play this game. Have the children sit in a circle. Make them close their eyes and you will tap "it" on the shoulder. When the children open their eyes, "it" will need to wink at different kids in the circle without anyone but the selected child seeing the wink. When a child has been winked at, he or she can make a big effect of dying. The object of the game is for the other children to guess who the "killer" is. Whoever guesses, or is the last person not dead becomes the next "killer".
Halloween Candy Hunt Like an Easter egg hunt: Buy plastic eggs and paint them in halloween colors. put candy in them. then hide them. The prize can be the candy inside or some of the eggs can contain notification of winning a small prize or party favor.
The Hanging Tree Supplies - 13 Apples (12 red and one green) you will need extras, String, Blindfold, and a tree branch. Tie each of the apples to a tree so they can swing freely. To keep observant kids from memorizing where the green apple is just loosely tie the strings together.
How to Play - Take a child and tell them to close their eyes and make a wish. As they do you blindfold them. Once blindfolded you spin them around and say this rhyme with them.
13 Apples hanging from a tree, 12 dark red and one bright green blindfolded, spun around, and then set free Is that green one meant for me?
You then release the apples and point the child in the right direction. They then will stumble about and pick an apple. If they get the green one their wish will come true! Before the next child goes, replace the apple and move the green one. (I am planning on letting each kid keep the apple they pick). If you want you can place a tag with a number on each apple, then each number will correspond to small gift or prize.

Ooh, I like the Pumpkin Toss and the Hanging Tree games personally. =3 The Killer and Halloween Candy Hunt might be a bit too childish for Empyrs, but that might be just me. ^^;
I'll ask Taro about it -- but on top of that, which Empyr would like to do what? Everyone's going to be decorating (MWAHAHA, NO GETTIN' OUT OF THAT xd ), but ICly... Who'll be making the drinks? Taking orders as to who wants what and bringing it to them? Who'll run the games? That kinda stuff. =3
EDIT
ALSO! Can someone come up with a way to divide the posts? The first post can be the door to get in, but then how it'd be split up after... ^^;
I can figure that we divide up the posts as different sections to the room -- second post could be a general description of the room followed by "zooming in" on each aspect. Like, an empty table, the musicians (if we can get outside help, otherwise we'll need to see which Empyr would be best and comfortable with performing xd ;;; ), a shot of each game, the drink counter, and a view of the window with the Will'O Wisps.

o.o Killer sounds kinda like a much-simplified version of Mafia. xd
And Mafia would be fun ... it's basically the same concept, but like this ::
One person outside the circle is the Narrator. Everyone puts heads down and closes their eyes. Narrator picks the "Mafia" (anywhere from 1-5 people depending on # of players) by going around tapping shoulders. Then Narrator picks Police (same number as Mafia) by the same method.
Then Mafia "wake up" and silently choose a person to "kill". Then they go to sleep again. Then Police wake up and try to guess a Mafia member. Narrator shakes head yes or no. Police go to sleep.
Then everyone wakes up. Narrator says who got killed. And if Police picked a Mafia member correctly that Mafia person gets arrested. Killed and arrested people leave the circle.
Then everyone gets to discuss who they think Mafia is and guess. THIS is the fun part because if you are Mafia or Police you can't TELL anyone. And Mafia get to act like they don't know either and try to accuse other people of being Mafia. xd
If everyone decides on someone as being Mafia and that person actually IS Mafia, they get arrested and leave the circle. If they pick wrong, nothing happens.
Then it all starts over until either Mafia win (killing all the Police and/or townspeople) or townspeople/Police win (by getting rid of all Mafia).
Now .... I'm not sure how well that would translate to THIS sort of thing. xd But it's an awesome game :B

Taro Rae I'm assuming that they students will be getting help from Kortus, Gregor, Metro and Raelyn for decorations and supplies. ^^ Here's the word back on outside help. Looks like we'll need to figure out which Empyr has the best music talent, or scrap the music all together.
OHGOD Mafia would be SO MUCH FUN! The Narrator would have to be the GM and make sure to know who is who... Though in RP-format, it'd be easier to play than forum-play where the choices to kill would have to be done in PMs.
ALSO~ There's a variation of Mafia called "Werewolf" that's the exact same thing, save that the mafia = werewolves. :3
