I love Doctor Who because it's what I grew up with. And, well, I like seeing what they believe the world would have looked like in the future like their version of 2004.
Completely Techno with people running around in space suits. I love it.
And, the new series has taught me something about the human race, we may one day die out but who's to say we won't have at least spread the gene around a little?
We're curious and when you think about it- we are like children to this new world that we have created. We have a whole universe to discover and we are only just taking our first steps towards achieving that.
And that even through hardships faith and hope always seem to win over in the end.

I watch Doctor Who for a mixture of two things. One because of the awsome story plot, and two(Don't get me wrong on this) Is because of the Doctor. It's his mood to almost always act cool and crack somewhat humorous comments.

Hm...the humor, the sci-fi aspect (the whole time thing is really cool) and, well, I like seeing the Doctor handle problems? I dunno if that's spesific enough...when I'm watching, I like to think "Is he gonna get hurt in this episode? Are they going to kill anyone off? Will we meet any new characters?"

I've always loved Scifi, so when I ran across an episode in England, I fell in love. The Doctor (#10) was witty with an edge of madness, the story line was fantastic and beleivable at the same time, and the monsters were awesome.
So I went to the library and rented every DVD I could find. While my library late fees are now enormous, I can't stop myself. ^_^ Almost every episode I watch just makes me marvel at everything more- the show is witty and scary, campy and cutting-edge, and no matter who the Doctor is, I know I'm in for a great afternoon.

I love it becasue I don't know anything else like it. It's wild, and I love it all. Actors, story lines, cheesy aliens/special affects, and the bizarre camera angles.

I think it's a lot of reasons - no main one. I grew up with the old ones (no I wasn't watching them in the 60's I'm only 23!), but grew up on the reruns and videos.
I also watch because of the character of the Doctor (no, not the 'omg he's sexy' thing!), but because he's mysterious - you never know everything about him, you never know what he's going to do next or what he's thinking! I can also see myself in him - some reasons being I didn't have many friends as a kid, I'm a science geek, and like him I tend to score mid-50% at university. (He graduated with a final mark of 51% on his second try!)
It's also nice to see a UK sci-fi show for once (although I'm still a Star Trek/Stargate etc fan), and it's all very intelligent - even the bad episodes. It's all well thought out (ie the Saxon posters all the way up to Sound of Drums, even in Torchwood eps!) with things you don't always notice til afterwards.
Like the Doctor I also forget when to stop talking sometimes, so I'll shut up now...
