eater Jessica Malatori eater Jessica Malatori I think it's a good idea... I for one have always wanted Gaia taxes based on wealth and gold in the first place to get rid of the inflation in the marketplace... Still waiting for a Gaia Stock Market too... it'd be better than gambling. but... inflation is how I make my money. *weeps* Yes, but think about the people who haven't been on Gaia for years. They want to get a really rare item too... and nowadays saving can take forever... no, I am talking about the 15th show. buy on 14th 10k, sell on 15th 17k, buy back on 28th for 10k. now the prices will be regulated crying Oh, yeah that's a different story. You'll still be able to do that... there'll just be a tax when you sell it. I think lol sweatdrop

Making a difference... I hate the 2% tax. All it's going to do is create an instant 2% inflation of every item. And prices have already been inflating rapidly these past few days. ...by whatever means necessary!

^ thats exactly what I said, lol
but.. about people not being able to get really rare items these days...
a) Its not that hard if you give into gaia's money whoring campaign... if you can afford to throw money gaia's way you'll get them quickly.. its sad rly
b) Its the way life is... you miss an opportunity you missed it... no use fretting over it.. at least in gaia stores today you have some really nice items... which us older members didn't have in our time. Its give or take really.

Making a difference... Honestly, I didn't even read most of the posts in this thread xP
And about getting the rare items, you're right. It's very easy to get them if you're willing to spend a little money. I just got my Nitemare Scarf (for the second time) not too long ago and I've only been a member for a year ...by whatever means necessary!

Its so foolish of gaia... every attempt they make at inflation reduction fails... and then they do stuff like.. adding two more daily chances with the new layout... *Shakes my head* I've always stood beside you and supported you gaia.. but you are reaaallly effing up this time.

That's why they need to directly tax each users account based on wealth and worth of items. Poor avis don't have to pay much, or none at all... Rich members get a sum taken out, but it's for the good of Gaia!

A 2% capital gains tax is actually quite insignificant if you do the math.
Had they implemented this tax from day one, it would have worked like a charm. It's too little, too late now.

Insignificant? If you call a loss of 57k gold on an omg insignificant, than you hold gold looser than I thought. And... who ever said that poor'er users will not feel this tax isn't right either; little sums add up. Think of all those people who are out there questing to get newer items... Users who just joined, buy a few donation letters to sell on the market place to get an older donation item... they have to buy more letters because their quest funds are getting taxed... that is in no way right.

Well, they'll always have the exchange forum, and the most conventional way to earn money: playing games. Besides, I'm hoping we'll get money from killing monsters in the Battle System too - though that will probably bring a new inflation.

Just because there is a 2% cut from the market, it doesn't mean they'll take away 2% from personal trades. So your super expensive items will still be safe. Since most people sell their chain wallets and Nitemare scarfs at the exchange forum.
This money is fake anyway, I wont be sheding major tears over 2%. Who knows? Maybe the 2% thing will actually help out.
@people saying sellers will raise prices: Sure they could, but Gaia will still take 2% out, and since they raised that price the 2% will be even larger.
