Well there's really nothing wrong with gay guys and straight guys playing the flute either way both are going to play and benfit the bad so really does it matter?

Kytesc Okay, first things first, not all guys who play flute are gay. That's a stereotype. Hell, a lot of the top floutists out there are men soooo....please drop them stereotypes please. thank you someone who agrees! THANK GOD!

fullyalive0 iRamune fullyalive0 ultimate_charizard Omg! actual flute players!!!! In my band there are six of us and half of them are snobby preps i know and i hate that! GOOD GREIF! see they are all gossiping and then the band drama and then it just gets on my nerves sometimes...i will listen to what the drama is and find a solution but never tell them so i just watch them mess up their lives, its not nice to do that though! the majority of our flute's are seniors TT^TT but we have like .... ALOT of flutes. and then there's Mr.Waller (band teach) and Mr.Parr (chorus teach who's class is conveniently next door) who can most likly go up in a stand-up comedy for band peeps like us... just last year we were practicing NOEL for the winter concert and Mr.Waller makes a joke just as Mr.Parr is walking in.... and mr.parr replies to the joke makig a new one it went like this "nooooooel nooooooooel! noel noel... there is no water cause we have no well..." THAYS HILARIOUSE! our director cant remember anything! he was ready to cuss but he said "GET YOUR INSERT CUSS WORD HERE OVER HERE!" it was funny! okayt.. out band director had us playign this REALLY heard march for our concert march and we played it PERFECT the first time... and he was all like " What the he..how the fu... did y'all do that???" Because last year it took us ALL year to get a march that was MUCH easier to even sound good...

akiachii Sakura[CherryBlossom] Uhm... Hi... I'm Katie. I play open-hole flute at my Highschool... Sakura[CherryBlossom] PanickedKarma I'm a flute playa in the concert AND marching band.... people like to strip naked in our band, how about yours? ...Wow... In our band, people like to screw around. We usually have people bursting through doors, tackling each other, or just talking. Its lots of fun~!
As for male flute players we have none and the only full on homosexual kid is the before mentioned Asian. And our flutes are more like "Dude... I think we need sleep.... aww you're so pretty! Yay hugs!" That's us we are like... really weird and actually make shopping fun. I don't like shopping it sucks everything is too big or too short.Yes, I realize that, but its also ALOT harder to play. Especially when you've only played it for a month. I dunno. No one else in my band plays it. Well, to correct myself, no one plays it with the hole plugs out, except for me. Makes me feel strange, since I'm a freshman and all... But, a flute is a flute, and nothing will ever change that! I have a buncha friends like yours. Well, different, but we're like a huge family. Everytime a flute is wearing a skirt, someone will yell out "HEY! Keep your legs closed, [inset name]!!" just for the hell of it. A Baritone player actually ran up to the flute sections yelling "NO! NO! NOT YET!" It was really funny!

Does anyone actually play the piccolo? I'm gonna play it next year. That s**t's crazy. But I have no choice now because our piccolo player is leaving and I amazed everyone by picking up her piccolo and playing it with absolutely no previous experience. She was like "OH MY GOD IT TOOK ME LIKE A WEEK TO LEARN THE PICCOLO, YOU'RE PLAYING IT NEXT YEAR, YOU HAVE NO CHOICE!!!"

We used to have a guy flute at our school last year. Then people that didn't even know him started rumors that he was gay and whatnot, so he quit. Our director was really pissed... First off, a lot of the gay guys I know a pretty awesome. Second, who cares if a guy can play the flute?! My band's also got two guys who play the clarinet and another that plays the oboe. And usually only girls play them in our school. No one says s**t to them, but when a guy plays the flute, here come the accusations! stare People suck...

I'm a flute and I love it. We have a lot of flutes in my band,but not as much as last year. I'm second flute, I really like it. I also play the piccolo! I'm the only one in my band. Does anyone else play it?

Flue and Piccolo are like the exact same, I've played flue for about 5 years now since elementary band (w00t go gr 6) and last year i did piccolo for a bit. SUPER EASY ( well for me at least) I have some pretty good air support even though my posture is terrible what can i say Im a guy, we dont have the same build as girls. THANK GOD i have Trevor as the other male flute. The testosterone isnt completely taken over. Anyways, the only thing that bugged me about piccolo is how small it is. I could play it with one hand if i wanted to. Sigh~ its easy though ^_^
