{{... stalking? Really? That was serious? Why would Athena want to? Does she have a crush on Ialo, too?}}

((Yes, really, it was serious. And the worst part is, it's because Athena likes his HAIR. That's all it is. Isn't that awful?))

{{lol! Well, she doesn't actually have a crush on him, too, does she? Just on his hair? lol!}}

((Just his hair! Freakiest s**t ever! Now, Danni on the other hand, she's got some sort of strange Florence Nightingale effect thing going on.))

Alec nodded at Seven's comment as he focused in on the article and the pictures. "Perhaps. No way to be sure though until we do some research."

Alec began to skim through the article, picking up on some highlights stating how much more advanced Enlil Corp's robotics division was, how SLime Inc. seemed to be falling behind the ball, and how the new automatons seemed like a last ditch attempt to save itself from falling out of the robotics division altogether. It certainly painted a better picture than Alec could have hoped for. If it was all true, then it made Silas look like a jealous kid who was trying to one-up his one time rival. Alec couldn't help but comment on this to Seven. "Looks like Silas has some jealousy towards Ialo. That may have been why he wanted him gone so bad. His business is doing far better with Ialo's ever was with him in prison."

After a few more minutes of skimming Alec began to look through the pictures. The automatons certainly looked impressive, very fluid and seemed to respond well. But they didn't look as good as Seven did, and not even in a physical sense. They just seemed more... bulky. Like they were spat out of an assembly line at high velocity. But something seemed off about them. Alec couldn't quite place it, so he began to touch the readout with his pointer finger, moving the pictures around and zooming in to certain parts. There was something about the eyes. Alec leaned in and looked at the pictures closely. It took him about 2 minutes, but eventually, Alec found it. At first it was subtle, but as he kept looking, Alec noticed the eyes looked kind of like...

...Alec immediately pressed his face almost completely up to the display. He was staring directly at the iris of one of the robots that was on display at a convention in Tokyo. Alec immediately leaned back and zoomed in on the iris, then blew it up so that it took up the whole display. A giant, red, swirling mass of lenses and zooming plates was staring Alec in the face, it's blood red iris seeming to pierce Alec's soul. Alec looked at the picture, and then he looked at Seven, staring directly into her eyes as well. Alec looked back at the picture, then back at Seven. He quickly flipped between the two, until eventually he pointed directly at the picture, his voice was filled with astonishment. "....Seven? Is it just me, or do these eyes look...... familiar?"

Seven glanced down, and looked at where Alec was pointing. Unlike him, she was not surprised. Even as advanced as she was, there were still only so many ways to complete a task. And once a person achieved the impossible, people would follow suit, claiming ti to be a tried and true method.

"Probably. It appears to be a mechanism identical to mine."

Alec was a bit surprised that Seven was so calm about the situation, but he was too stunned to even think about that. Had Silas managed to bribe the right people so he could get access to Ialo's blueprints? Alec had to know. "Seven, do you have any employee records? Anyone who was acting out against the company, or was recorded to be going somewhere they shouldn't have been? Anything at all?"

Seven blinked, and looked somewhat surprised. "You have to ask? Does the name Krauser not ring a bell?" She shook her head.

"I'll bring up his record, and I'll bring up everyone else too. Unfortunately, there are several engineers who have suspicious connections."

Alec stared at Seven for a moment before slapping his forehead at his own stupidity. He had completely forgotten about Krauser and what he had done to Ialo. He groaned for a moment before he looked up at the display and looked over the accounts. There were several with attitude records filed against them, and some of them seemed to have large sums of cash deposited into their accounts rather suddenly. It all pointed to one of them, if not all of them, having been paid off to divulge company secrets.

But just what were those secrets?

Alec began to think about Seven. She was FAR more advanced than any robot he had ever seen before, even more so than the ones that Silas had put out on the market. Silas' bots were certainly advanced in make-up, but they lacked the functionality. The programing. .....The PROGRAMMING.

Alec looked back at Seven immediately and spoke to her with concern in his voice. "Seven, is it possible for any of them to have gotten their hands on your coding? There's no telling what anyone else could do with that kind of code."
PostPosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 2:02 pm

"No - " she said quickly, and then paused. She was a powerhouse of logic. It was absurd to think she and her siblings were invincible. They might not have left traces of themselves, but...

"Maybe," Seven admitted worriedly. "It is possible that not all the data was destroyed.... there could have been a paper trail."

"I do not think we need to worry as much as you think we might. My coding is extremely complex and organic. I remember watching Master Ialo program the newer satellites. Many of them he had to redo - it was his own code, and he still made plenty of mistakes with it."

"Enemies may have portions of the code, but I am positive they do not possess the entire measure, much less comprehend what they DO have."

Alec was still concerned, even with Seven's somewhat reassuring words. "Still, even portions of the code could lead to other things. And if Silas managed to get a hold of some of it, there's no telling what he'd do with it."

Alec sat back in his chair and grabbed his chin once again in thought. "We need to think about this. Why would Silas even want your plans?" Alec began to think about that, and as he did he began to look over some other news stories that Seven had (conveniently) created links to on the display. Alec browsed them, and a pattern began to emerge. Every time Enlil Corp. put out a new product or design for something, SLime Inc. came right back with something similar, if not better. Sometimes SLime did actually manage to make something better than what Enlil Corp did, but when it came to robotics and computers SLime was always trailing behind. Even with the new automatons, SLime was still considered second to Enlil Corp. Silas seemed to always come in second place when it came to Ialo.

And that was the spark. Alec began to think about that. Silas must have had some kind of grudge against Ialo. There was no other reasonable explanation. Why else would Silas, a man obsessed with money, dump excessive amounts of it into a project that had virtually no profit in it? He wouldn't, unless it provided some other service to him. In this case, attempting to beat Ialo.

Alec looked over at Seven again, asking once again for her input. "Seven, I think Silas has some kind of old grudge against Ialo. Do you know why that is? Do they have a history or something?"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 2:20 pm

Seven didn't really have to answer Alec's question, it was rather obvious. "Of course they do," she replied smoothly. "Interestingly, both Mister Lyme and Master Ialo attended this school in the same year. When Master Ialo became Headmaster, he used the Blue Storm network to store copies of old transcripts. I have both his, and Mister Lyme's."

And those two files both appeared on the display. Both boys had amazing grades, but it was beginning to get easier and easier to see the source of jealousy.

Among the files was some old pictures of the two. Seeing them side by side, the source of jealousy was becoming even more apparent.

Ialo Enlil Silas Lime

.............so VERY, VERY apparent.

Alec browsed over the records, saw the grades, saw the schedules. They even had some of the same classes together. It was like Silas was always coming second place to Ialo. When Alec saw the pictures, his theory was solidified. Alec's eyes opened in shock, not only at the ugliness of Silas', but also at the fact that Ialo actually looked GOOD when he was young. ...And happy. That certainly wasn't a look he had seen on Ialo's face while he was Headmaster. Alec could only sit back and appreciate the pics for what they were, commenting on them honestly. "....Well, they certainly don't look like that anymore."
PostPosted: Sun Sep 12, 2010 3:05 pm

"And if you look again," Seven added, "All of Master Ialo's classes are electives." A second, older version of his transcript came up. "He was through with his graduation requirements by the first semester of his junior year. Learning more about magic was his only inclination to enroll at Mystic Fountain his senior year."

Perhaps he learned a little too much about magic, in that respect.

"You might find these records, though irrelevant to the case, enlightening nonetheless. The Headmistress then was Miss Rotatsu Setsuka. Ah, and here's Miss Luna's transcript. She was also in the same year as Master Ialo."

Why Seven was getting a kick out of this, she wasn't quite sure.

Kai and Skia Rummaged through the house finding expensive imported clothes and furniture and countless exotic foods. "Skia can you give me a grand total of how much this is worth?" Kai asked flipping through The 'headmaster's' log book.

Skia nodded and thought for a second, "Well the first week alone he spent close to ten thousand on himself, all of which was taken from the emergeny fund and replaced with the teacher's paychecks.

Alec looked over the records, and was becoming more aware of Ialo and Silas' feud. But more so than that, he was getting a better picture of who Ialo was. First off, Setsuka of all people was Headmistress at the time when Ialo was in school. The same woman who wanted to kill everyone was Headmistress of the school. That could NOT have been good for his psyche. Not to mention the fact that Luna was at school with him as well. Alec knew how important she was to him. And looking at her old picture, it was easy to see why the man had fallen for her.

Alec was getting the feeling that there was far more to Ialo's problems than anyone knew about.

But now was not the time to be thinking about that. Alec took the information he and Seven had just gathered, and began to think aloud. "Right, so we know that Silas has always felt inferior to Ialo. And we know he just tried to build his own robots that would hopefully be better than you or any of your siblings. How can we use that?"

"Well," Seven began, "I'm a dangerous, unlicensed, illegal piece of equipment. Mister Lyme is trying to make robots that surpass what I am. Therefore, his machines would be more dangerous, more unlicensed, and illegal-er than I am."

Which made no grammatical sense whatsoever, but oh well.
