mrgreen Sweet! A flute section! Well, here's a bit of info:
I've played since the 5th grade, and even though I wasn't in the band my freshman year, I've been playing for about 5 1/2 years. Right now I'm 2nd flute, 3rd chair (out of 5), and I'm pretty damn certain I'll get first flute next year, even if there's only going to be 3 chairs open. I'm also looking into the piccolo.^^ I play fute for concert band, but I'm a flag for marching band.

Cassidy and I tend to fight over chairs and everything. It kinda sucks though. We where all sure I would have gotten 1st chair when we last played our test, but I ended up having Third. So I went 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Gah... Then Jaxon went down in 3rd. But he's a bassy dude. So oppisite in band. Lol.

Awesome! A section for flutes!!!!I've played flute since I was in 6th grade...so that's four years this year. We just had our chair auditions and our band director hasn't announced the results yet. I play flute for both marching and concert band and I love it.

SilentlyDreamingmyDeath Today it was the last day of school before break. My band and the jazz band did a concert for 5 classes. It was really awesome, but the first chair flute screwed up so many times including trilling on the last note that was held out. Stupid male flute. ok...i feel so unloved...of corse i dont say im good! and i never will be! im in third chair and i dont deserve it! but not all guy flutes are stupid, this one guy was like SUPER AWSOME at the flute...

itache5 HI deos anyone know how many other guys play flute besides me and the other guy but its cool playing flute and also being first chair hahaha 3nodding loser! you loser rubbing it in my face! thats mean! OK! im like third or second...i lost track! (i dont like chairs it makes you make an opinon on your self)

GOOD GREIF! see they are all gossiping and then the band drama and then it just gets on my nerves sometimes...i will listen to what the drama is and find a solution but never tell them so i just watch them mess up their lives, its not nice to do that though!

GOOD GREIF! see they are all gossiping and then the band drama and then it just gets on my nerves sometimes...i will listen to what the drama is and find a solution but never tell them so i just watch them mess up their lives, its not nice to do that though! the majority of our flute's are seniors TT^TT but we have like .... ALOT of flutes. and then there's Mr.Waller (band teach) and Mr.Parr (chorus teach who's class is conveniently next door) who can most likly go up in a stand-up comedy for band peeps like us... just last year we were practicing NOEL for the winter concert and Mr.Waller makes a joke just as Mr.Parr is walking in.... and mr.parr replies to the joke makig a new one it went like this "nooooooel nooooooooel! noel noel... there is no water cause we have no well..."

Ascend I'm a flutist, too, though I prefer the trombone. ^^;; Sorry! Keltzy, all the flutists in my band are snooty, too. XD They're either pretty asians with boyfriends or guys that are presumed gay. confused haha pretty asians or gay guys that's hilarious xd

oo ya i forgot, im a flutist too, isnt it a great instrument =^^= the best part is that u don't have to lug around a big a** instrument like the tuba to concerts. who agrees? wink whee

lucky u guys even have that many flute players. our school is soooo ghetto that most of the instruments are broken(especially the flutes, its a conspiracy, go figure) so we have to fight for the best instruments. hey dont u guys just hate it when people in ur section dont care or pay attention to the music and mess up on purpose stare

I have been playing flute for five years now, since I was in sixth grade. I currently upgraded my instrument to the advanced level Pearl S05, open hole, french-style full keys, and an auxillary b-flat foot. It has a rich lower register, and I make up for its lack of precision in the high register. What is everybody's favorite make of flute?
