He chuckled, looking out into no where, "I believe those people never fell. They don't know whats it is like to have the Dark Side at your beckon, for it to be the only thing to rely on. You taste its power, you give it, and then it has you in its powerful grip. And then certainly takes something amazing to bring you back - to make you see how wrong you really are and how far you have fallen."
The Jedi smiled, "That's why I think there is both a Light and a Dark. And though I may like to think good will always win - it won't. An endless war. But the Jedi are there. At the very least, we are there to protect and serve the people while fighting the tides of darkness. I don't care if we could ever completly keep the dark at bay - I care on how many lives I can save from the rising tide."
He listened to KenoTao and said, "Fighting. If I never had the chance to raise my lightsaber outside of the training grounds - I would have been more than happy."

All to often... the most powerful Sith Lords had once been Jedi at a time. A terrible trend to follow...

"Indeed, friend... indeed," Valin said silently. None of the teachings of the Jedi, or the Force, or anything had prepared Valin for the absolute, incomprehensible horrors of war.
Valin cheered up at the joke of drinking, "Unless you have some Corellian ale or Whyren's Reserve, then I don't think there is anything in the bar truly worth having. Afterall, we the Corellians aren't just the best starship pilots in the galaxy - we have the best alcohol too."
