Isi almost felt tears whelming in his eyes but kept himself from letting them spill. This wasn’t the first time that he’d been left behind, and it was slowly, albeit painfully, something he was getting used too. It wasn’t like Esben ever did it on purpose; he knew that his trainer was a very dedicated biking in training and that many a thing caught his attention if it was going to make him strong.
Maybe that was the kind of dedication to get strong as well? Though, Isi would’ve preferred just repeatedly lifting rocks or something instead. Fortunately, he found another doll, and the small collection he’d earned gave him some comfort as he hugged them close. Fortunately, he also knew that the moment Esben realized he was missing, he’d come find him. So, deciding there was no point staying in the one place if he could help it, Isi did his best to follow the now fleeing pokemon and trainers, though at a much slower place.

"Besides, if we don't exit through the right way, they'll know we didn' do it right and they won't give us our rewards!" she added urgently, only somewhat sure that was the case. It made sense, in her mind, even though she admittedly hadn't been collecting any prizes yet. Torin probably was, though! He'd probably been collecting them and holding them for her! Ignoring the pokemon chasing after him, Chico ran the maze, looking for signs of his trainer. He could hear rustling and would stop, stare, and try and get a glimpse before following it when it moved, before suddenly he could catch voices, too, and Julie abruptly appeared from the corn. She was covered in grain dust and leaves, and looked very annoyed at the boy she was dragging with her, but stubborn as ever. "Chico!" the pokemon yelped bounding over, and bumping his way in between the two, glaring up at Esben. Julie looked down at him, then back at Esben, gesturing. "See Esben!? And this way our pokies can keep with us real easily too! I don' wanna loose any of mine!" she declared, oblivious she had already lost two. Not even Chico seemed to think on the sheeps whereabouts, just yet, too busy standing protectively before his trainer.

Esben huffed, clearly disappointed that his plan to simply barrel through the corn was not going to work. He still felt like it was a good plan, but since there were prizes at risk he decided not to press the matter further as he was yanked from the corn and back onto one of the clear corn.
"Fiinnneee whatever! I just want the prizes! They better be good!" He commented. Of course, Chico came running and butted him to the side, which made the boy yelp. He glared right back at the Chikorita, equally annoyed.
"Pah! What’s to worry about?" He remarked, huffing and stepping around the green bean, not intimidated by it in the moment as he clutched Flef tightly. "My pokemon always find me! Or I find them! We’ll have to train yer pokemon to be better warriors too! If they get lost so easily and all!" He glanced around as Byr came bursting through the grass as if on cue, roaring and glaring at Chico like he was considering tackling him down. Hah!

Dune hadn't really added any decorations to the cake, aside from the icing. He moved aside for Chickpea to do it. [ "You're pre-pretty good at that Chik-pea." ] Dune hadn't thought about it quite so much when he was just living with the other dunsparce, but gosh he was really starting to think having something like hands (or in Chickpea's case, vines) would be really awesome.
Dune was happy to gobble up his piece when they were all sliced up though. He didn't really notice if the humans thought the cake looked good. He mostly just liked that Ledian smiled and nodded, seemingly proud of it (of him?). Yeah, that cake tasted amazing. [ "This was better than the cookies! Sweet stuff is so yummy." ] And the sprinkles were the perfect kind of crunch, reminding him of the crunchy bits of bugs that he liked so much.

"You know, you're actually right. I do know how much you like free stuff," Jun stated dryly. Technically, Christian had given him some tickets for everything Jun had bought but... let's be real here.
Though maybe Jun shouldn't joke about that too much. He wasn't sure if Christian felt uncomfortable about it (money was on 'no', but Christian could very well be cracking jokes to cover for it). But if Christian did feel bad about it, it wouldn't be great if Jun scared him away with jokes. After all, Jun didn't mind. He wasn't attached to the money, but he was attached to... uh, having company. In general. Like Christian. Who was good company.
"I'm thinking we try to go fast this time.. some places give prizes for finishing in the shortest time, at the end of the day." As if on cue, an announcement drifted over the corn walls about the activities and games (and the entire place) closing soon.

It was pretty easy to not get distracted by any plushies when he wasn't even seeing any. He'd been sure to direct them towards a different maze than the first (and wasn't it a kicker that this place even had multiple corn mazes, seriously). Yet... they seemed to be making really good time. "I can't shake this feeling that we're doing something wrong here." They'd only hit a couple dead ends, and unless he was seriously mistaken, they were already close to the end.
"Apparently not," he stated, surprise leaking into his voice. The exit was ahead, and they were apparently already done.

Chickpea tilted his head back to look at Dune, expression brightening as he smiled at his friend. "Really? I'm glad!" With his eyes on Dune, he continued blindly icing the cake. "You did great too! I love how you were able to make those designs with your tail," he complimented, but then pulled his head back up so that he could look at the cake and give it its finishing touches.
As fun as decorating had been, what Chickpea was really looking forward to was eating, and he wiggled happily in anticipation as he watched Christian cut slices. "Mhm, mhm!" He nodded his head as he stuffed his face, mouth too full to allow him to give any verbal response. He swallowed heavily, then licked around his mouth, before he hopped closer to Dune. "We should try and eat sweet stuff more often!"

Christian chuckled, and a semi-sheepish grin grew upon his face as he was called out. "I guess that's part of my charm too, huh?" Still though, Jun's words did get him thinking. It wouldn't be much longer now until he had to go back to... that one town, and he wouldn't have Jun around to continue to provide him with free stuff. He'd need to find a job or... something, to sustain himself and his pokemon. Whenever he had the chance, he'd have to read that book Am had bought him.
He dropped his hands from his head, but only to cup his chin introspectively as he considered Jun's suggestion. "A speed run, huh? Well, that's not usually my style--" He was cut off by the loudspeaker announcement of the carnival coming to a close soon. Hm, well, guess they'd just have to change up tactics then. Christian shot Jun a thumbs up, "Alright, let's do it."

In a speed run, grabbing collectibles wasn't a priority, and this was no different. Christian, with just enough cognizance to check behind him to make sure Chickpea and Cress were behind him, he followed after Jun, and his quick strides; long legs had their perks. "Now why would you get that feeling?" He laughed as they emerged from out of the maze, then flipped his wrist towards him to check the watch he didn't have. "We had to have broken some kind of record," he remarked optimistically, despite not knowing exactly how much time they'd spent in the maze.
"I guess we should turn our tickets in now," Christian suggested, as it was the only logical course of action now. With the carnival coming to a close, there really wasn't much else for them to do. "I wonder what kind of prizes they have to offer."

Jun, once more pleasantly surprised by Christian effortlessly keeping up with him, couldn't help but wonder. Seriously, what did Christian do? You don't get arms like that just by tying knots.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. I'm not sure, actually. Didn't really check when I got here." He hadn't come to this thing for the prizes, nice as they were. No, he'd come because he had wanted to celebrate Halloween. Because he missed home. "If I can get another one of these, I'll be golden," he stated, tossing the GS ball from the maze into the air before slipping it into his bag. If he got one more, he'd have four... enough for Cricket, Holly, and Peafoul, plus one for whoever he caught to finish out his party until dunsparce and ledian chose to leave. And he did have an idea about who the next party member would be...
"Almost feels like cheating getting prizes on top of stuff from the games." Seriously. Jun already got loads of TMs, Balm Mushrooms, gs balls... hell, Christian even made it out with a talking totodile. Jun opened his mouth to warn Christian to be careful of people trying to steal Cress, then snapped it shut. It felt like saying something would be suspicious, somehow. He could just keep an eye out himself. Or- oh. He'd forgotten, that this was it. After all, they were just a relationship of convenience, to have company at the fair, right? Who even knew where Christian had ported in from, back when he first slumped down at Jun's table.

Different meant... well, it meant something! And he didn't have a different ball, so... now he'd take this one. "What do these things even do?" he asked, because that seemed like a smart thing to do.
He waggled his finger at his friend, and added in a few 'tsk' so that Jun would know just how much he was chiding him. "Cheating's only wrong when you get caught. Besides, I bet they had a surplus of these items, so they were happy to give it all away." Of course, he was only speculating, but it was a good assumption as any. Besides, who was he to complain about all the free stuff they were getting.
Speaking of free stuff, it meant nothing if they didn't actually get their prizes. "Wanna head back to the entrance so we can claim our stuff?" Christian suggested, and gave Jun a few finger guns. He was feeling pretty hype about leaving, though he wasn't exactly sure why; it wasn't as if he had anything real exciting waiting for him once he got back... to that city. "Oh! We should trade numbers," Christian suggested. "I mean... well, maybe you can give me your number and I'll just... hold onto it until I get a new phone."

Julie puffed her cheeks out a bit and placed her tiny fists on her hips as she looked back at Esben. She rolled her eyes at Esben's dismissal, dropping her hands back to her sides. "Well mine don'! I only had 'em a little while!" she pointed out, before gesturing, "'N where's your blue bear?!" she pointed out. She looked around, before reaching over to tug on his arm fluff, and lead the way. "C'mon, we're almost at the exit. We can find all our pokies 'n stuff once we get out there!" she decided, marching her way towards the exit, before brushing past the edge of corn, immediately looking around. Where was Torin... Sure, they had missed some of the maze with their antics, but wouldn't he have at least been calling for her or something if he'd been looking?
Moving away from Esben, she wandered over to the attendant lady that had helped them before. "Escuse me, did you happen to see my brother leave the maze? He was out here waiting for me, but..." she trailed off, looking up at the woman, who immediately looked concerned. "Oh, um... I'm sorry, honey. He left with the woman he was talking to. "Well maybe they should!" Esben retorted just out of stubborn habit, clearly not considering how silly that remark was. Of course, it made sense that if Julie only had her team for a while that they wouldn’t be able to find their way back to her easily; but well, he was nine and he didn’t have time for facts like that!
"My wuh?" The Viking remarked, looking back as if on instinct to take account of his team. There was Byr, who looked focus on starting a fight with Chico, only held back by Teeg latched onto his bun of a tail. There was Flef, cradled under his arm like ball. So that left…
"Where’s Isi?" He hadn’t noticed that the Cubchoo had gone missing and before he could question Byr (because the Teddiursa was the most likely one to know), Julie was tugging on his arm fluff (she sure had a thing for the fluff) and guiding them towards the exit. He huffed, glancing about once more and positive that Isi would show up not soon after they were out of this dreaded maze of corn.
They exited (much to Esben’s secret relief) and the boy idled by as Julie sought out a nearby adult to inquire about her brother. While his gaze was on the maze exit waiting for Isi to show up, he couldn’t help but overhear the conversation. He frowned, walking over a bit and eyeing Julie and the woman as she turned away after giving the girl items. "Huh… who’s Tria?" He inquired, still eyeing her haul. He noted that she seemed a bit down at this information and couldn’t help but feel a bit pad, perking up and poking her in the arm. "Why don’t you go find him instead?!" No reason to sit around moping if they could find him first, right?

Julie took her things from the woman and looked over at Esben as he came over. "Tria's one of my pokies," she explained, before looking down to the bits and bobbles that she'd been given. She sorta wondered why Torin had picked some of these things.... The little spinner top looked fun, though! And the candy looked tasty! The label thing said they were for pokemon though... Twisting around a bit to look at her backpack and try and figure out a way to dump everything in there, while it was still on her back, she stopped to look at Esben when he poked her.
"Um... I was gonna!" she decided, finally setting everything down to pull off her backpack, "I just um... I dunno where to look." Her brow was furrowed as she started sorting through her things and stuffing things into her backpack, while searching for Tria's pokeball. How did grown ups tell them all apart... She knew she shoudl probably use the little belt thing her parents had gotten her but she only had Chiko's on there, for now. Once she found the only presently occupied pokeball left, she pulled it out and stood up, looking around. "Hey, where's our pokies? I don't see my sheep pokemons or your icey one yet..." she commented, putting Tria's on her belt and then reaching for the two empty ones in her bag. She'd probably need to at least return Sheep Mareep's brother once she found them, if she was gonna let Tria out...
