Amari Post 3

Amari giggeled as his extended hand was taken, it was so nice to make new friends! Moving forward he nodded his head, she was lucky to avoid getting burned, his own skin tended to reflect the sun's light giving a light shimmering effect that he adored. But it didn't mean he was immune to the suns rays and took great measures to make sure he didn't get burned.

Moving towards the food stalls he could of sworn he saw someone who looked suspiciously like his best friend Sriina. He tried to keep his eyes on her but she was with someone, arm in arm!! Distracted he was forced to drag his attention away and back to Vepkhia's voice.

"What?...oh..OH! Um..." The question was about what Oban's drinks were available. To be honest he wasn't entirely sure, being a slave they didn't exactly get to partake in anything delicious.n "Well there are lots...how about we just go and try them all?" Amari managed to try and refocus on his new friend.

Draven
Post 4

Draven gave a nod to them all before one stood mentioning that they had a match. Come to think of it, he had one too and almost forgotten. Closing the small bag of sweets he dropped it in Masika's lap. "I too should head to my match." Draven said as he uncoiled the Keldari from her perch. "I'll show back up afterwards, your mother probably be back before I am."

Handing the coil of scales to Masika, Draven headed off down the line of seats, most already occupied with people. Reaching the end he slipped down and out of the community seating area and towards where he would be waiting for his time up. Hoping with luck he can move on.

Damissan
Post: 2

“Well, that’s…” Damissan trailed a moment, eyeing the other man a moment before shrugging. “Two-fold, I suppose. Convenient if you plan on losing, but you can’t do that. I’ll be watching. And I expect better of my parents’ taste in guards. And so, assuming you don’t plan on losing, it seems a touch…lackluster and self-defeating to not put any weight in whether you win or not. There should be a thrill to it—isn’t that the point? It is a game, after all.”

As he took a bite from his own, Damis watched as Xilarn broke off a piece of his, attempting — apparently, and without success — to inspire some positivity in his mutt. Gadot seemed uncharacteristically unimpressed at best. Damis’ eyebrows rose.

“What’s gotten to him? Rejected by a local lady-mutt?” While Damis couldn’t fairly say he was completely comfortable with the beast yet, Gadot was gradually winning points of favor with him, and he was, if nothing else, no longer as uncomfortable — or intimidated — around him as he had been initially. He knew enough, too, to know refusal of any food was decidedly unlike him. “Festivals are exciting, mm?” he said, the words directed, for once, towards the animal. “Surely someone as enthusiastic as you should appreciate that, even if your master doesn’t…and all the people and smells…”

He glanced Xilarn’s way again, though, at talk of his day.

“Ah…a ‘great sum’ would be an over-generous way of rephrasing ‘zero’, I think, even from an optimist’s perspective. I have, however, talked to a good sum, yes, and things are going well, I think. I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity while still in the throes of civilization, and even if no one is…thoroughly dedicated to the concept yet, I do think I’ve managed to leave an impression that won’t be forgotten quickly.”

Xilarn
Post: 3

A game. Right. To anyone watching, sure. But Xilarn suspected that at least half of the entrants, being beaten up and shot at, probably enjoyed it significantly less. Not that he was especially worse for wear himself, but there were still a great plethora of reasons to complain. He rolled his shoulders and occupied his mouth with another bite before answering. "Oh, a lot of things happen that we don't 'plan' on. I didn't plan on picking you off the street, but here we are. Besides, I'm sure you can muster enough thrill for the both of us."

His attention wandered down to Gadot, then he shot Damis a wry smile. "I thought you'd be pleased he was sniffing at your heels, begging for food and attention." Xil nudged the back of the raptrix's neck with his boot. "You can't win with this kid, mm? No matter what you do." His beast snorted.

"Anyway, he's disappointed, I suppose. No pets in the fighting, and stuck back here with me." A flicker of hesitance washed over him, and he settled back in his seat, bracing his legs more firmly against Gadot's wings, as if any such thing would stop him if he chose to move. "He gets excited. Very excited. There's too much going on and too many people not paying attention. Too many children running amok. I don't want him to bite anyone." And because he knew that probably wasn't the most reassuring thing Damissan had ever heard in regards to his pet, Xilarn added, "Playfully. Playfully biting." Considering the size of his jaws, 'playfully' or not probably didn't mean much. They were better off up here and away from most of the action.

He reached down to give Gadot a pat between the ears before focusing back on Damis' excursions. Of course, Xilarn wasn't quite as interested in those developments as he could be. S long as his younger companion wasn't being stoned, that was about as much information as he needed. "I don't think I'll ever be convinced you're leaving as much of an 'impression' as you think. There's plenty more exciting things going on that I doubt you'll be spared a passing thought ever again. But if it suits you to imagine you're leaving an impact, believe whatever you will."

Kauff
post three

Kauff's attention quickly strayed back to the battles during the next stretch of silence between him and Klaas, and as soon as he saw that Xariy had won her match, he let out a whoop that nearly shook the stands. The Wind turned to his companion, eager to extol the virtues of the thief-turned-merchant, only to find that he was now alone. The prentice was gone.

After a halfhearted but curious search (one that included the space under the bench he was sitting on), Kauff looked back down at the fighting, surprised to see another familiar name being removed from the running. Zumei. The girl was here? He scanned the grounds trying to locate her, but he didn't see anyone who looked like he remembered.

Serr
post four

He didn't even have to turn around. Serr could feel her gaining on him even after he'd made his turn. Well, if she was going to insist on keeping up, he was going to have to institute a plan B. Hide.

Looping the jewelry around his own neck so he wouldn't have to worry about dropping it, Serr made another sharp turn and ducked between a pair of parked stalls. Chest heaving as he caught his breath, he waited silently, hoping that she wouldn't find him.

Post 4

The roaring from the crowd was heating up as the second round of battles continued. The competition was getting more and more fierce, the moves more precise, as the skill level was slowly raised again and again.

Who would come out on top? It was all that was on the crowd's mind.

Aqio Post 6

Aqio blinked as the other spoke. "Impressive. If your teacher speaks so highly of you now, just think of how they'll talk once your done." he was impressed with the other's training achievement. Then the male made a good point...he drummed his fingers on his knee. Looking down to the ground as he thought. Shesha would see that Aqio's face twisted lightly into a look of concern.

"I was told that I wouldn't suffer if caught...but..." he shifted as he looked down at the hands twisting in his lap. "I'll be honest when I say I wasn't shown much evidence to trust the older members of the Guild." he let out a sigh. "Why don't we just get something to eat?" he looked up when he heard the roar of the crowd. "Seems like the fights are getting intense."

Damissan
Post: 3

Damis gave a soft tch against his teeth, shaking his head. “You did not ‘pick me up off the street.’ We met initially on the streets, but it was through my parents’ efforts that you were hired, and unless I’m mistaken, surely they couldn’t have known we had even ever encountered each other, so that first meeting was irrelevant on that ground…”

Damis paused, sparing the mutt another glance and then shrugging.

“I wouldn’t say I was complaining. He just looked…more put upon than usual. As though he’d stolen your mood for once. I thought—” Immediately at the word ‘bite’, Damis’ words halted, gaze flicking back sharply to Gadot, and then up to his owner. “You said he was—” Harmless. Not that Damissan had internalized it yet, of course. The beast was massive. His instinct decided how to react to that on its own. Hearing that Xilarn was concerned about him biting casual passers by, however, was not encouraging.

        Playfully.

“Playfully…” Damis shook his head. “It does suit me,” he said, happy to slide the subject on even if the thought of Gadot ‘playfully’ biting small children remained in the back of his mind. “It isn’t every day someone comes to speak to you of a single, unifying God. I carry a message no one else has. Certainly unique in this crowd. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that I am charming and good-natured. An open and friendly disposition can go a long way in leaving an impression, though I suppose you might not have personal experience with that yourself. Are you…fighting again soon? Why did you sign up, if not at least for a small bit of thrill? It does put you in some danger directly before travel…”

Zumei Post 3

"Aw really? You'd do something like that for little old me?" Zumei joked, though really she was pleased he would even offer to treat her for anything. Most times she was the one getting things for herself, and even then she didn't do much. She was the tough wind girl and people tended to let her get away with a bit more because she looked intimidating. Most guys saw her that way and steered clear of her. Sometimes she just wanted to be treated like a normal girl though! Aldren knew what was up. Treating a lady nice was a sure way to her heart, and she did enjoy being around the ice lad.

"We'll have to find something you like. I'm not letting you leave here without you getting a ton of new experiences in, mister."

Ashta (post 5)

It was nice to talk about non-consequential things to not have to be worrying over his brother (although he was still in the back of his mind). To be out and try and enjoy himself was a foreign thing, something he didn't indulge in often. He gave a bit of a snort at her comment about trying a little bit of everything. Hey why not? After all they were free now, they could taste the deliciousness that was denied to them before.

"I intend to try everything, why not indulge ourselves?" Ashta spoke his thoughts he felt himself slowly relaxing while in her presence, before he had been so worried about creeping her out and his constant worry over his brother didn't help things. Ashta had kept all the coin that his family had been able to gather for this trip on himself, not trusting that his brother would undoubtedly do seedy things with it. So why not spoil Sriina a bit?

Approaching the first stand he looked it over and then to Sriina, he wasn't sure of her tastes and everything looked a bit too sweet here for him. But he did say he was going to try everything.

Ordering one of basically everything the man was selling (thankfully just 3 varieties of some sort of small cake) he offered the first bite of something that was sticky to her.

Xilarn
Post: 4

Xilarn snorted. He leaned back, crossed his ankles over Gadot's back, and casually rolled the end of one of his dreads between his fingers. "You know, I tried to pick you up at your estate. That's where I expected I would find you. But no, of course you weren't there."

Now, after the fact, he realized he might have expected as much. Damis patiently wait until reinforcements arrive? No, never. It should've dawned on him then that this was not how a short, easy, amicable adventure started. At the time, he'd been too busy being immediately annoyed to give the future much thought. Certainly nothing with Damissan could be easy. Though, he couldn't exactly say he had any regrets yet. Xil chuckled. "You weren't at your home, so I both met you and then later picked you up on the street. The street straight out of Sulburi."

For all his initial jabs at that time about Gadot being a 'vicious predator' or something to that effect at their meeting, Xilarn still felt compelled to- "He is." The older man assured immediately, sitting up a bit straighter as he did. "Harmless. He's not going to bite you or anyone else, so don't look so alarmed."

It was probably not a good idea to linger on the thought too long, so Xil sat back again and rolled his shoulders.

"You overestimate how intelligent people are," Xil retorted. "No one is going to remember every unique thing they hear, especially if it's not important or relevant to many of them. That, and people are more inclined to remember cruelty than kindness, so even if you are charming, adorable, weird, and delusional- and you are... most of those things- I don't think a few minutes of your time makes you exceptionally memorable."

He smirked and snorted, "But if everyone had just a week to dedicate to you, that would be an experience no one would forget, mm?"

Xilarn glanced back to the arena and the people currently vacating it. He probably should get up at some time in the very near future. "I suppose so. I've nothing better to do while I'm stuck here with you, and since I can't escape the noise regardless of where I go, I might as well take my frustrations out on something." Though he did feel almost bad for the Shifter woman in his first match. He shrugged. "If I'm injured too badly, you'll just have to leave me behind, I guess."

Shesha Post 7

Shesha gave a laugh, "Yes, I can only imagine what would happen and what he'd say if he heard I was traveling with a pick pocket that got himself caught." He could only imagine what the man would think were that sort of thing to think. Not a thought that he wanted to think too hard on it. Not as though he would allow himself go down with the ship, not when what he was doing was far too important for one fish that wanted to get himself into trouble stealing from people. Hopefully he wouldn't have to deal with it because it wasn't worth it.

Speaking of something that wasn't worth it he turned to glance at Aqio, giving him a long look, "Really? You're not a very sharp one, are you..." He actually thought the guards were going to just let him go if he was stealing from someone? Even if for some weird reason they did what would stop the victims from retaliating against him? Really, what an idiot. Giving a shake of his head he said, "Fine, fine, let's get going to get some food since you're so desperate to get out there to get yourself in trouble."

Pushing himself up to his feet Shesha brushed himself off before giving Aqio a glance, motioning with one hand, "Lead the way then, little fish. Once you get yourself nabbed by the guards I will see if I can come back and get my seat back." A comment that came along with a feline like grin.

V'demhe Post 5

When she made it to the healers tent she saw that there were a few others that had stopped by as well. So it seemed that the first round of fights that had taken place were good ones. It made the Alkidike smile.

Within minutes she was ushered over to be looked at. After some probing and stitching she was bandaged up and on her way. She had fights to watch, after all. Dem wanted to see Eleina and Draven fight since they were considered family to her. Maybe she could give them pointers for the next round after seeing them in action? So she walked out of the infirmary area and headed for the stands again.

Masika Post 6

She took the Keldari from Draven and smiled at him as he said he had to get to his fight. "Good luck!" Masika hoped that he won his fight. Then her attention went to her two gal pals that were left. Ziel and Eleina. Of course she knew that Eleina had a fight coming up as well.

"I hope Muma is alright. She was bleeding after the fight." The thought that her mother could be injured made her antennae droop slightly. After all, her mother was like wonder woman to her.
