The calm lasted only until the next pool. Her heart, the part of her that America so relied on, sped up without any reason she could discern. What was going on? The rest of her body began to follow its lead, breath picking up and eyes going wide. Touching her chest, she could feel her anxiety spiking. rejam text to: Taym My heart's racing and I don't know why something's wrong. Attempt: 3 Status Effect: Sleep, Insanity, Youth Age: 22 - 3 = 19
Yves had somehow wandered to a green pool this time, his earlier notion of ripping his clothes off to take a dip in its water barely kept at bay by the fact that he wasn't alone in here. Crouching down to drink from the pool, he felt then saw the change that the pool of youth brought about in him through his own reflection as the magical effects of the water returned him to a time when he was about to undertake the trial that would, if successful, have the entire clan recognise him as an Executioner.
Getting up to stretch for a bit, he then gave a yawn and wandered off to see if he could locate another pool to drink from thereby granting him exit from this particular corridor.

Rin found another pool of water as soon as she snapped out of it. This one did not help her condition any more than the last. She felt nervous as shadows seemed to creep in towards her and distort. She covered her ears and screamed again for Melvin. She was under attack.

Taym, for his part, had just about had enough of Fountains of Implausible Bullshit to last him a lifetime. But he'd also had enough of worrying helplessly about people, and America's next text was an irresistible pull. He found the alien words that were, indeed, deja voo vu as ********, and more or less at random struck out towards a room, and with a feeling of dim dread and resignation and powerlessness, he dipped out a palmful of water and everything was far, far too much like it had been under the Sahara.
For all of about five seconds.
Speaking of deja vu, the heavy sleepiness that fell suddenly on him he met the way someone else might have met a rush of euphoria. He welcomed, happily, the giddy, punch-drunk pleasure at the realization that he could not follow a thought to the end of itself, and a familiar slurred drowsiness that he wanted to ensconce himself in completely. It lacked certain refinements, certain nuanced elements that made the whole thing worth looking for, but it was not something he was prepared to scoff at. America was, for the moment, forgotten. His knees gently buckling, he considered another drink, and also considered lying down for just a second.

Cautiously exiting, America approached another pool and drank, hoping this too would be negated, much the same as her youth had been. Instead it was doubled, and the woman clutched her chest, heart pounding furiously within. Shaking, she curled up in a corner of the room clutching her phone like a lifeline and tried to compose texts. astrazilla text to: Kon help me unable to send rejam text to: Taym help me unable to send (+ 5 years, ++ fear)

He ambled, unhurried and quite content, along to another room after deciding that he did not want to perish and didn't know how far the rules would stretch to accommodate both this and never, ever leaving. lizbot Text to America: its not bad tho? maybe you got the coke pool instead or the meth pool sounds like meth you probably got the meth pool hard ******** luck im sorry She'd be fine. Whether or not the pool by itself induced a happy absence of worry, he was rigged, Pavlov-style, to expect it on the heels of sluggishness. This would end up being short lived, as he found himself more or less by mistake in another room, dipped up a palmful, and drank it. He turned as he did so, and in the same instant his eyes fell on America, and he startled, approaching her in a haze, his comforting words slurring out of his mouth: "America, sweetheart--" he started, but that was as far as he got. He fell back a few steps, giving himself a shake, and then ducked and swatted as though beset by some flying something-or-other although clearly nothing was there. "What the ******** happened to your face?" he whispered. "What the ******** is happening to your face?"

Even if it was much cooler then outside, it didn't stop the corridors from being extremely dry and devoid of any sort of moisture. When was the last time she had a drink? Poke brushed a hand through her hair, touching her ear fins. They were feeling very dry, too. Perhaps she should take a detour and look for some signs of water, otherwise she might not last very long here. She was doubtful though, as finding water in a desert would be extremely difficult
Which was why, as she stepped into the next corridor, she found herself standing in front of a extremely detailed pool, filled to the brim with water.
Why so much water was here she had no idea but she didn't care, it was water.
"Thank jack!" She exclaimed, running towards the blue colored one. She could see some sort of text on the wall but ignored it as she dunked her head in to wet her head and drink heartily from it's contents.
Suddenly she reared back, a sudden intense fear spreading throughout her. Poke wasn't the kind who was scared easily, and yet she felt sick with the intensity of terror that ran through her. s**t, was the water poisoned? It made sense the horsemen would try to poison them before they got to the top.
She didn't drop dead though or feel any worse, just extremely afraid. It was weird though, she couldn't pinpoint the source of the fear.
At the very least, the door had opened now, so she could move through it.

Upon enteing the next room, she was faced with another pool but with different colored water this time. It was now she took more notice of the writing on the new rooms door, but upon reading it Poke realized it made no sense to her. What language was this? She looked at the words with a frustrated growl, but as she looked at them she found that somehow, she could understand them.
Apparently she had to drink out of the 'four four'. With a glance back at the pool, she realized it was referring to them. Looking back at the writing, the dragon then rolled her eyes at the last part. "No s**t" She muttered. She was a jacking water dragon, of course she would perish without drinking water.
Walking back to the pool, this time a green colored one, she bent down to drink from it.
Once she had drank her fill and stood back, she then felt...weird. Not sick or anything, but different, and yet she couldn't put a claw as to why.
She went to scratch her head, but found that her horns had disappeared. "Huh?" Her horns had begun to show up in her form when she was a knob. Why were they gone now?

"Oh...." America's expression went from cautious relief to sudden horror. Shaking hands reached up to cautiously touch her face and she whispered, "Oh god, is something happening to it?!"

He cautiously took a step back, and when this was insufficient, another. He swayed gently as he did so. "I don't think you should touch it," he said, concerned. Or tried to say. It was possible to decipher what he was saying, but only just. "Or the... the floor. Or the walls. Or that thing." He squinted, and then looked back over his shoulder, and then down at his hands, and then back over his shoulder at the pool again, and then back at her and back at his hands. "Maybe," he assayed tentatively, "there's a like... Naloxone room, but like. For... LSD. Instead. Is there a... I don't think there is."

Since the first one made her frightened, and then second one apparently made her younger, she wasn't sure she wanted to know whatt the next pool would give her.
...Which ended up being more blue water.
We;;, she was already scared, she couldn't get more scared. right?
As soon as she took a few gulps of the water she shrieked and stood back, her body shaking from the sudden onslaught of fear. And not the good kind of fear either.
"D-dammit!" She cursed.

With a helpless quiver in her voice, America moaned, "I don't know what any of that means. Oh god, oh god it did something to you too, didn't it? My heart." Getting up from the floor, not understanding what was wrong with it but no longer trusting that it was safe, America made her way to Taym, eyes darting back and forth.
"The water did something, the other two were fine but this one...this..." Chest heaving with each panicked breath, she grabbed Taym's hand and placed it above her heart, whispering frantically, "It feels like it's going to burst. Everything's all wrong inside me."

The next room had blue blue water, but this time it had red. "G-great" She gulped, wondering what this water was going to do to her.
Thankfully it didn't poison her either, but again she felt herself change. Checking her head she found her horns were back, and a little bigger this time. The red one must be the opposite of the blue one it seemed.
