After doing his bloody work to the back of one of it's legs, Fenrir let himself pause and stare at the hilltop, his tongue lolling out of his mouth. Even from that distance the sudden display was bright to his eyes. But then he was kicked powerfully in the ribs, and crashed into one of the nearby elves with a surprised yelp. "That's what I get for not paying attention..." Ignoring the yelling from the elf he went back to work on the creature's other knee, tearing viciously at the tendons with his teeth.

As the light was seen on the hill top almost all eyes went to it, hearing a loud crack and explosion afterwards. Sylvia shook herself after the explosion and took her sword and stabbed the thing again, this time hitting it in the heart, killing it. As the creature landed she stood and used wind to carry her voice. "Your general is dead! Your captains are dead! Flee! Flee back to the darkness where you belong!" With the news of Reaper's death and the inpending defeat in their minds most of the elves dropped their weapons and fled, same with the few dragons left alive.

Jake watched as a few dragons flew over head, roaring with fear. Soon the dark elves passed by him, running as they covered their eyes from the bright light of the now risen sun.

Demios hopped up the hill, his leg hurt, and looked for Strider. He found him not far from the explosion. "Here you are. How long do you intend on napping? Fight's not over yet." Demios took Strider and hoisted him over his shoulder.

"Maybe so, but I think we deserve a nice long rest after this. We're getting too old for this." Strider limped along on one foot, his other leg broken. "But you know, Reaper never really was a bad person all together. Just misguided."

"Easy for you to say. You're probably delerious after being hit in the face so hard." Demios and Strider chuckled as they limped back towards Salim.

"Nice speech," Fenrir said to Sylvia, trotting to stand next to her as he favored his left side. "Sweet and simple, RIP Reaps." He winced as a few large pops and cracks were heard, and he shook himself as if to throw off water. Then he glanced up at her, licking the gore off his muzzle as he spoke. "Want a lift back?"

At the sound of a loud explosion and slight glow over the top of the wall, Crow watched as Ezekiel took off from his perch, circling above before returning back to the ground. He listened intently to the bird's yammering as he gathered what had indefinitely happened. "So he's dead then?"

"Who...Reaper..?" Gorash asked groggily as he began to stir, the Protectors guarding Crow clapped each other on the back, cheering.

"Seems like it. I wonder if he and the others'll come back like last time."

"Is...George, dead too?"

"Yeah."

"Aw, I liked...him..." Gorash opened his eyes, blinking owlishly. Then he let his eyelids droop again and his head lolled to the side. "He...friend...blawhl." He'd fallen back asleep.

Crow gave him a strange look.

"Well I just wanted it to be over. But yeah i'll take a lift but I think first we should go collect them don't ya think?" Sylvia climbed back onto Fenrir. "He better be okay."

"Poor man. I can smell some sort of foreign smell coming off him. I don't know what it is but it's obviously given him his split personality." Jake's ears and tail were out for the first time in a while. He didn't have enough magic to conceal them at the moment. He was squating on the flight of stairs above Gorash and Crow. "Nice to see you lived though, scavenger." Jake was refering to Crow.

"Oh, he's fine for now," Fenrir trotted off at an even pace through the happy crowd, the pain were his ribs had mended themselves fading quickly. He looked up and over his shoulder at Sylvia as he continued on his winding path. "At the most he's just injured but that's no problem." Turning his gaze back in front of them, it didn't take long before they caught sight of the limping pair.

Ezekiel cawed at Jake above them as Crow looked up, moving a hand back to rub the root of his dark wing absently. "Oh, hello inu-boy. I wouldn't know, I just met him 3 or so days ago." He shrugged unconcernedly and glanced around, as if looking for someone in the throng around them. "Where's my cousin at? I haven't seen him yet."

Sylvia's heart leapt as she saw Strider's red jacket in the distance. She wanted to run towards him but she was feeling very old suddenly so she waited for her and Fenrir to get close. "I'm glad. Maybe now we can actually go home and live happily. I think we deserve that much, you too Fenrir." She ruffled his fur on his head.

"He moved towns some time ago. After Mal fell if I recall. Too much action for the young boy." Jake looked off over the crowd as prisoners of war were being herded through the town. "Looks like it's over now."

"I think you guys do too," Fenrir replied in the sincerest tone he could manage, his eyelids drooping as a comforting feeling filled him from the attention. "Well I did just have a nice decade-long vacation so I'm not sure I could. Hey, you should come meet Selena sometime! You'd like her; I'll show you a picture." By that time they'd caught up with Strider and Demios, and Fenrir fell in step with them, tail and watch swaying slowly.

"Oh, really?" Crow looked down at the cross hanging around his neck quietly. His bird shifted to look as well, cocking it's head curiously at it's own reflection in the accessory. "I was hoping to see him, too..."

Rore couldn't say that he was too surprised at the defection among the Ravager ranks at the front gates. In his time he'd seen plenty, and that included from his own battles. Sometimes it was necessary to surrender, such as now, but there were always times when it wasn't.

"Uh, Sylvia? What is that? I've never seen a wolf that big." Demios had sorta gotten into a defensive position as he walked along with Strider.

"Well, Fenrir, it's been a long time since i've seen you like this. Not since much darker times. I'm sure your paws needed the work, eh?" Strider limped along propped on Demios' shoulder.

"Wait, that's Fenrir? I always thought you were wolfish but not literally." Demios chuckled to himself.

"Mhm, he's one of the last Sire Wolves in the world, except he's also immortal too." Sylvia continued to rub Fenrir's head. "I always loved Sire Wolves, I missed them so badly." She laid her head down on Fenrir's neck as he trotted along. "But tell me dear, how long have you known and not said anything?" Sylvia had a tone of scrutiny in her voice, hurt he hadn't told her.

"I've known since I met him, honey. But he didn't want anyone besides me to know what he was. I never intended to keep it from you for my own sake." Strider chuckled.

Demios smiled. "Nice to see both of you have a healthy relationship." Demios chuckled as both of them looked at him and asked what he had meant.

"I'm sure you did." Jake stood and vanished, appearing beside Rore. "How goes things? Any fighters left?"

"I sort of had to, Strider, it's near that time and any small bit relieves the pressure. Haven't done so in a while." Fenrir swung his massive head to look up at Demios then. "Demios, I'm hurt. You can't tell who I am by my scent?" Fenrir gave Demios a watery, puppy eyed look. "Just because I hide it exceptionally well doesn't mean you can't guess." He sighed happily at Sylvia's petting, though, and the look's affect was lost; if it had any to begin with. "I'm flattered, but I'm not immortal. Just not allowed to die. Or be mutilated for long. Or go crazy for too long, either..."

"Just a few," Rore kept his intent stare ahead just a bit longer as a small fight broke out, quickly calmed by Protectors. Better to die fighting for a cause you believed in, he supposed, though he preferred there to be no bloodshed altogether. "They're all either running, long gone, fighting to the death, or surrendering. 'Can't say I don't blame them. Did things work out differently as you thought, Jake?"

"Well you always had a wolfy smell but you're older then me remember? I had no idea you even existed. I was very yound when your kind was in its prime. I was still holed up in Silver City." Demios patted him too.

"Yup. I'll explain it all later. It was kinda like a voice spoke to me. It sounded so familiar too, like it was engraved in my brain but I can't see the face." Jake thought for a moment, his ears flipping down in hard thought.

"Now you're just making me feel homesick..." Fenrir closed his eyes and his leg shook a little. "What's all this attention for suddenly? I didn't do anything, you should be patting Strider on the back instead."

"Ah, then don't worry about it." Rore ruffled Jake's hair so that it stuck up in different directions. "You'll start to sound like one of the priests back in those big churches, preaching about some sort of vision of their god visiting them or whatever."

"Oh, please don't. It'd break my back in this state. I'm sore in places i've never felt before. Damn this mortal body." Strider continued to limp rubbing his neck. "Besides when you're in that form you're just so soft and cuddley." Strider was teasing Fenrir.

"Hey! I'm not crazy! Just...perplexed." Jake's ears had perked up and his tail wagged unconciously enjoying Rore rubbing his head. "Rore, you're gonne make me pass out. That feels so good." Jake had a satisfied look on his face.

"Har har har," Fenrir bumped as lightly as he could into him. He was afraid he'd end up falling over. "As of now, I'm also stuck like this for a bit. So put up with that body of yours. Let's just make it back to the town, I left my stuff by the healer's tent."

"Oh, okay..." Rore pulled his hand back, letting it hand in the air for a moment indecisively. "Then I'll just tickle you so you can stay awake." He made to go for Jake's arm, intending to grab him while he was distracted.

Crow eventually sat down on the ground, quickly growing bored with standing. His stomach made a growling noise at him and he frowned sadly. There'd obviously be no food for him of all people, but he couldn't help but wonder if he asked nicely then maybe they'd give him some bread. He shook his head at the absurd notion, Ezekiel imitating him on his shoulder.

"Oh that won't be a problem for me but the soldier may be cautious around you for a while. Not that they have ever really paid you mind." Salem's walls had grown closer and as they passed they could see bodies being piled up and either buried, for the soldier, or burned, for the demons and other evil things. Soldiers looked at the small group whispering or smiling in respect. "How close do you think it was Fenrir?" They had finally entered the side gate, which had been crushed as well as the front, heading for the healers tent.

Jake was caught off guard and as Rore tickled him he writhed and squirmed. "Ah! Stop! That tickles and i'm sore. Ah!" Jake squirmmed a bit more. "I said...stop!" Jake bit Rore on the arm, not enough to make him bleed but enough to hurt. "Now stop it. I'm not a kid, I just choose to look like a kid. I'm older then you are."

"Close for what? The battle, or...?" Fenrir let the question hang, not even sure where he'd been leading it to at all.

Rore held back a surprised yelp at the sudden bite, releasing Jake. He rubbed the spot as he inspected it, his joy short-lived. It had only been to relieve the tension after the battle. His eyes hardened as he looked up from his arm at Jake, hiding the hurt with anger and a stony captain-like stare. "What do you want, a medal?" He growled out. "You spout that out every time as if it means something other than words. Just because you aren't a child doesn't mean you can't enjoy yourself. I may not be older than you, but I can damn well see that." A Protector called for his help behind them, struggling with a five-legged boar beast. Rore turned away from Jake to help, trying not to snarl as he stalked off and said coolly, "I will be along shortly."
