Meridiana -> Adria 4+9+2=15
Meridiana let out a startled yelp when someone’s shoulder slammed into her own. An elbow clipped the side of her cheek while another person, this time from behind, stepped on her heel and hip-checked her when they rushed by. Out of reflex, the corrupts hand gripped Adria’s firmly as she found herself falling forward and onto her knees.
To the side of her was the gaping canyon that swallowed him but a moment before and in the chaos of panic she nearly fell in too. Had he not of been there, Meri was sure she would have fallen in. She would have died in a place where her body would never be found and her family would be left wondering what had happened to her.
“I-I’m sorry…” Her voice trembled as she tried to stand up. The heavy breathing of horses was near and one nudge her aggressively with its nose urging her forward.

Ammersee
It wasn't ideal by any means; Ammersee could feel people moving around him but he held his ground. He expected them to collide with him but all they did was chill them as they passed by. He didn't want to look in the distance--he wanted to focus on being all right, for now.
...Only, it was really hard to miss the massive tent.

The hoards of shadow people, screaming and shoving past, seemed like they would never end. There might have been hundreds, in a constant flow of faceless horrors. They came in waves, only as the seconds ticked on they seemed to lose their stability, their form. They were only shadows now, no longer shoving past the unfortunate citizens of Destiny City and instead passing through them. Cold ghosts, shadows of the living. The sky lit up in the distance. Flames erupted from a great canopy top tent, lifting into the sky in a fiery blaze. They took the form of any standard fire--but then, something crunched. The tent was a fireball; it had no structural stability, and yet it continued to burn in place. The flames had licked the plastic away but some ghastly spell kept the fires burning. A giant claw, easily the size of a car stepped on what seemed to be some concrete building next to it. The shadows clung to everything, but the detail was enough to make out. The building crunched again but didn't crumble. Flames licked up the clawed appendage in bright oranges and yellows. A second set of claws appeared on the other side of the carnival tent, stepping into the ground with such force that it cracked and rapidly filled with bubbling magma. Heavy, shuddery breathing came from behind the tent--and then, a ferocious roar. The flames burned brighter. A reptilian face, long necked and wicked, lifted from behind the tent. It let out a horrible screech and flames erupted like a volcano from behind it, from the cracks and chasms in the ground. The shadow people burned away, leaving the air full of suffocating ash. Even the horses stumbled backwards in fear. Quote: Flames are everywhere; the eerie chill of the realm is gone, replaced by a painful heat and a blinding light. The fire is shooting up from the ground and from the burning carnival tent. You need to do what you can to avoid taking damage--and take the time to figure out how you’re going to beat this thing. With the newly illuminated realm, everything is still covered in blackness--but you can clearly make out some large rocks and debris around the chasms. Maybe if you push them in, you’ll be able to block off some of the fires from reaching you? And who knows, maybe there’s something hiding in one of those dark shadows? Roll to see how you fare!If you have a fourth stage character, RNG between numbers 5-10! If you have a third stage character, RNG between numbers 4-10! If you have a second stage character, a Mauvian Senshi, or a full Youma character, RNG between numbers 3-10! If you have a first stage character, or a humanoid Mauvian, RNG between numbers 2-10! If you have a civilian or a basic Mauvian, RNG between numbers 1-10! Quote: If you roll between 8-10 you feel the wave of heat but manage to avoid taking any damage. The light is blinding, but you can clearly see some large rocks and strangely shaped figures near the chasms. If you push one in, it plummets to the bottom and explodes into a black, shadowy ash that immediately coats the fire and smothers it out. If you roll between a 4-7 you are affected by the heat; it catches in your lungs, it stings your skin, it hurts your eyes. You don’t catch on fire, but it’s not a pleasant experience. Still, you can make out some moderate to large rocks and strangely shaped figures near the chasms. If you push one in, it plummets to the bottom and explodes into a black, shadowy ash that immediately coats the fire and smothers it out. If you roll between a 1-3, the heat is almost incapacitating at first. You feel like you are on fire, and while the feeling may be fleeting for most, you may also choose to actually catch some flame. Lingering effects may include temporary loss of or diminished vision, dizziness, fatigue, and overheating. If you manage to overcome these symptoms, you locate some small to some moderate rocks and strangely shaped figures near the chasms. If you push one in, it plummets to the bottom and explodes into a black, shadowy ash that immediately coats some of the nearby fire, lessening the flames and smothering some of them out completely. Please keep track of your roll totals in bold red font at the top of your post! If you choose to, you may respond from the prompt you roll to or any prompt lower, but you cannot respond to a prompt higher than what you rolled! You can only roll once per prompt and if you make a mistake, simply strike out your post. Please do not delete rolls! You may continue to RP between prompts. The next prompt will be posted at ~10PM EST October 23rd! While you can join at any point in the roleplay, you cannot make up lost rolls!

Mia Seidel*RNG: 2 6 1 2This was bad. Mia's arms were shaking with the strain of holding her on to the crumbling landscape around her. She really didn't want to find out what lay in the blackness of the abyss below, but unless she thought of something quickly she wouldn't have any choice but to pass a visit anyway. At least it wouldn't be on fire. Maybe she'd just fall forever. Just as the last of the woman's grip was fading, a figure swung out of the orange-tinted ether. Adorea. Her new friend (because who could go through such an ordeal without calling the person you shared it with a friend) hurtled forward, pulling some complicated stunt that saw Mia flung upward and Adorea... in thin air. The historian hit the rocks roughly and on her stomach, but ignored her noodly limbs and forced herself to spin around. It was easy enough to see over the edge, it was crumbling toward her under the horse's hooves after all. She caught a brief glimpse of her savior falling into the smoke and ash, then nothing. No. NO! Mia slammed a fist in hopeless frustration. For a moment she considered diving after Adorea, but that would just invalidate the heroic actions completely. The hellish realm had different ideas anyway. Gouts of flame were erupting through the fissures in the earth, and through the intermittent flares of brightness Mia could see that she had been right about the carnival music: this was some kind of nightmare festival, complete with a burning big top tent. And over the top of the ignited structure crawled a scaled monster that seemed completely comfortable in the inferno. Wicked claws rent the land asunder, drawing thick flows of lava that bubbled and gurgled. The heat and smoke became nearly unbearable, Mia's chest tightened as her lungs fought for air. In her distraction she missed a warning hiss of steam and caught a jet of fire directly over her shoulder, setting the fibers of her shirt aflame. Cursing loudly, the explorer rolled over and over to smother the searing blaze before it spread. She succeeded, but the angry red of her boiled skin on her upper arm left no question that she'd suffered lasting burns. Despite all this, Mia's indignation churned even hotter than the boiling surroundings. She wasn't going to live after someone sacrificed themselves for her. She wouldn't. She'd save Adorea, she just needed a rope, something, and she'd jump right into that void. Shadowy figures seemed to be gathering about near the growing ravines, forming small crowds around what seemed to be ash-covered rocks. The historian barely spared them a glance, still looking for something to use as an anchor and line. She'd lost sight of Ananke as well, but as far as she could tell the new acquaintance hadn't gone over the edge and had simply fled inward. Good, one less person to try and rescue. Others were shouting over the din, likely in the same situation she'd been in just moments before. One thing at a time. She'd rush to their rescue, right after she saved Adorea.

Sailor Adorea, Senshi of Optimism (Roll History: 7+4+6+2 = 19)
The descent had been a peaceful one, beyond the reach of the screams of fear and alarm from above. In some ways she had fallen into silence and she wasn't quite sure how long she would be falling or if the void was as endless as it seemed to imply. Nevertheless as the senshi drew ever closer to the bottom of the pit she couldn't yet see, something beneath her roared to life. Once surrounded in darkness, she was plunged into a deep red light and unbearable heat.
Eyes that had closed snapped open and the red head glanced over her shoulder to see what lay below, lips parting in disbelief at the mouth of hell that seemed to have opened up underneath her. Yet where there was fire there was fuel and that meant that there was some sort of bottom to it. She arched her back and coaxed herself backwards in preparation for landing, flames licking at her shoulders, legs and ankles until she finally slapped a palm to the ground.
...And promptly let out a pained shriek.
She was fortunate that no one else was down here as she sunk to the ground and clasped her hand with the other. Oh god it was so hot and the flames were ripping the air right out of her lungs. Her focus was all but lost in the midst of something she really shouldn't have landed in, but someone above had been unintentionally watching for her as boulders came down from above and promptly doused the flames around her. All right, so it also coated her in a heavy layer of ash but the impact was enough to snap her out of her shock.
"Mother fu -" She shook her hand, encouraging feeling to return to her fingertips and peered upwards. More rocks were falling, not at rapid rates, but they were beginning to feature enough in her line of vision that she knew if she didn't get back up she'd likely end up crushed under a pile of ash, let alone burned alive.
She took a moment to survey her surroundings and finally settled on an inescapable truth, to get back up she was going to have to pass through more of that fire and unfortunately it was going to be the only way for the time being. Her jaw set at the thought but she had never been one to back out of a challenge and given the circumstances...
"All right, let's climb," she nodded firmly and adjusted her gloves before grasping at the nearest outcropping. It was time to put some of this parkour to use, though how long it would take her was anyone's guess.
Her progress would be reasonable at first but no doubt fatigue would set in eventually and she'd need something to keep herself going by the time she made it to the top.

Lieutenant Rakovanite Rolls: 10 + 2 + 3 + 8
What did any amount of powered abilities matter when Rakovanite could still be mercilessly shoved about by intangible shadows? They pushed him and others- Rakovanite could see them from the corners of his eyes- toward a plummeting abyss. And then, through no skill of his own, they weren't. The shadows behaved more like a mist, phasing through and around him as if it had never been anything more.
Rakovanite's dark gaze flicked about, head notching in the direction of other people suffering through the same madness he did. When he spun to glance back toward the chasm- there, Fettelite, and at the sight of him, Rakovanite felt only an undiluted disgust.
It didn't matter what Fettelite meant to him. This pitiful display was useless, and for all the fear he supposedly felt, his answer was to lay down and cry. What did he expect to accomplish? What was his goal in this action? Wasn't he afraid? Didn't he want to live? How would this solve that. Did he just expect that someone else would be there to solve the problem? Even if Fettelite was prepared to accept death, he could at least have some dignity. Some pride. This was how children behaved and why he had such a distaste for them when they did.
But this was just pitiful.
Pathetic.
Disgusting.
And Rakovanite was not a man abundant in pity. His steps were silent, long strides to bring him the few feet to Fettelite's side. He did not stoop so low as to touch him. "Get. Up," he commanded briskly, tone as quiet as ever, but injected with just a touch more venom for the disdain he felt toward this display. "Or I will leave you here and not look back."
There didn't seem to be much more to say. If they cared to live, they would need to do something, and there seemed to be some strategy in using the rubble and debris around them to smother the flames... There were already people around them working together to shove boulders onto the fires. And Rakovanite could physically see the effect of it working.
...But he would not help anyone who didn't try to help themselves. He folded his arms. "Are you going to do something, or are you going to do nothing?"
