Christin followed along until they got to a soda drinking contest. There were plenty of stuffed animal prizes. But also... A black swablu... Christin looked at the swablu and KNEW she had to enter. She wanted that bird pokemon. She entered, giving her stuff to Zack. "Go Christin Go!" He cheered and Christin smirked. This would be easy. Like taking... Candy... From... A Baby? She thought as soon a rather large guy came up to the table. "I bet I can drink thirty of those in five minutes." He claimed. Christin looked at the big man, seeing the challenge. And enjoying it. She noticed however, how frightened the Swablu seemed. And that protective instinct kicked in. "Better bring out triple that many. I'm going to squash a big man like a bug," She said in return. The other contestants dropped out at this and watched as drinks were prepared for a small blonde girl and a large man about twice her size. She smirked as the timer started.

Christin and the big man were neck and neck for two whole minutes. The judge called two minutes, and both had drunk fifteen drinks. Christin was starting to feel gross. And it was showing on her face. But she kept chugging the drinks. At twenty glasses, it started wearing on the big guy too. "Go Christin Go! Go Christing Go!" Her brother chanted. But by 25 drinks, she had slowed. Four minutes. They got to 28. Five minutes, Big man in the lead at 31, Christin at 30. And as it got close to curtains for her. She noticed the swablu hiding in fright and pushed herself to drink four more. The big man slowed to an almost stop. He was at 35. She was at 35. Both working on 36. But the big guy didn't make it. He set down the glass and put a hand on his belly. Christin finished her drink and stood, showing that hers was empty. Little petite Christin had finished 36 sodas in under six minutes. She raised both hands in victory, and looked at the big guy. "Don't worry man. I'm stubborn." She said chuckling as the contest judge pulled the black Swablu from it's cage and handed him and his ball to Christin. She pet the bird soothingly before letting him fly up into the sky. Already enjoying his new place.

Christin put her hand on Zack's head. Looking at the Swablu flying around. It was a beautiful bird pokemon. And it would be gorgeous when it evolved. With a quick whistle, the Swablu came back and Christin had to name him. "Alright. So your name is Targe. Okay? It's a shield." She explain as the Swablu landed on her head. She chuckled and kept moving. Soon coming to a Dart board. Curious, she happily took up the idea to play. Zack didn't want too. Which was fine. Christin took the Swablu off her head and put him on Zack's instead. "Well if you don't want to play. Then just watch me. Kay?" She said with a smile. The boy nodded hesitantly. But agreed anyway.

Receiving ten darts, Christin concentrated as hard as she could and tossed. One after another, she popped balloons. She smiled as the last one hit and she was given ten tickets and another stuffed animal. This one a keychain in the shape of a weird kitten. She was slightly confused by it but shrugged as she turned for Zack. But he was gone. Targe was no where as well. She turned around looking as hard as she could but didn't see them anywhere. She started running around the island looking for her brother. She soon found the Swablu however. He was set in a net on a pier. She ran over and released him from his rope cage.

Rose decided she would try out a game of darts, since that one seemed to be based more in skill than luck. Unfortunately, the darts were rather awkward for her to wield and her aim was rather poor. The Roselia ended up only popping one ballon when all was said and done, although the person running the booth was a good sport about it and gave the grass type two tickets for her trouble."Come on, there are other games to play,"the poisonous flower Pokemon told her allies before walking off to look at a different set of games. Oaken and the Beedrill shrugged before following along.
She had taken a few detours, one to get a camera with a couple of memory chips and another to get a couple more bottles of that odd soda in different flavors, but soon enough Sable had reached the path to Mount Ember. The teen paused in mid-sip of the "standard" flavor of the soda, something she couldn't place exactly but decided to compare to bubble gum, and grinned as she spotted Jin and Darren dawdling up ahead. She didn't know why the duo were going so slow but started waving with the arm not holding her soda and shouting from where she stood to get their attention."Ey! I thought you two would be further along!"she shouted, then ran pver to greet them a bit more properly. She figured she'd regret it later when she tried to push down that marble thing in the mouth of the bottle to open the soda but decided it'd be worth it to catch up to the duo sooner.

Sable's Beedrill pointed out a tent filled with arcade games and although she waited outside, Rose and Oaken went in to check out what games were available. The Roselia smirked as she saw a game that her previous trainer had played rather often, knowing how to play it and being confident she could get a good score. There was just one problem..."Hey, Oaken? Mind giving me a hand with this game? I can't reach both sets of controls at once,"she said as she climbed up to where she could reach the right-hand set of controls."Yeah, sure. You know how to play this game?"The Servine climbed up onto the console as well so that he could grab the joystick with his stubby hands. That was one thing about evolving that he was not thrilled with.
After a bit more conversing, the game commenced and Rose showed that yes, she knew how to play. She ended up constantly barking orders on what way the Servine should move their character and quickly pushed buttons to help keep them from getting killed. The two of them actually worked rather well together and racked up an awesome score, managing to get in the top ten. Unfortunately, the delay between the two of them meant that they got beaten down in the last level. Still, it was an impressive enough display for the duo to earn seven tickets, which they took with them as they left the tent.
Bolt was decently satisfied with his arcade score. It wasn't his highest, but it wasn't terrible either. Maybe a break playing the other games would do him some good. He hopped out of the arcade tent and looked for something else to do. He decided to try the ring toss again now that he wasn't as tired, and he actually managed to hit two of the three targets, earning him five tickets.
Meanwhile, Darren sensed that Jin was rather concerned or depressed about something as he mentioned possibly overthinking things. It didn't really matter what though, because Darren still hated to see Jin feeling so down. It took him a moment, but then he started to speak. "Hey... Jin, you know you--" Darren started to try and reassure him, however Sable then caught up to them, mentioning that she thought they'd be further along. Darren turned to smile at her and chuckle. "Eh well we were kinda dragging our feet. Didn't want to get too far ahead without you!" Darren explained, then noticed the odd soda object in Sable's hand. "What's that you've got there...?" Darren asked curiously. It was obviously a drink but it had a weird marble thing inside the neck of the bottle. He'd never seen anything like it, and Darren was always interested in learning about new things. Plus he figured it would be nice to make light conversation along their trek.

The Beedrill found a colorful wheel to spin in order to try and earn some more tickets. Carefully, she used the tip of her stinger to send the wheel turning, but it seemed that she wasn't very lucky this time around. The pointer landed on a four, so that meant she only got four tickets this time around. Not exactly bad, as it could have been much worse, but it still could have been much better.
Jin glanced over at Darren as the teen started to talk to him."Hm?"Jin didn't get to find out what Darren wanted to say, though, since Sable managed to show up right at that moment. The disguised Zorua immediately looked a lot more cheerful, although it was questionable how much of that was genuine and how much was from him tweaking his illusion to appear cheery."Yo! Up this way!"he called back as he waved, then put the hand in a pocket while using his other to hold his can of lemonade as the redhead hurried over.
Sable chuckled a bit at Darren's explanation once she was close enough for an actual conversation without the group shouting at one another."Well, that's certainly nice of you. I probably could have used the extra bit of running, though,"she replied jokingly as she walked along the path with Darren and Jin. She started to chuckle, too, but stopped when Darren asked about the soda she was drinking."Some sort of novelty soda they had here. Ramu-something, uh..."Sable turned the bottle a bit to read the lable, figuring that'd be easier than tripping up on the name."Ramune, at least that's what it says on the bottle. The flavors looked interesting so I thought I'd try a couple."She then pulled out another bottle, this one a strawberry-flavored version of the drink."I've got an extra one if you want to try it. Er, if you like strawberry drinks, that is. Might want to wait a bit before pushing in the marble on top, though, since I think it got shaken up when I ran over here."

Bolt's ring toss seemed to be getting better, but after all that exertion, he wanted a break, and spotted the colorful wheel. That took no physical ability at all, and served as a nice break for him in the meantime. Spinning it earned the Pichu 4 tickets, which was nice at least.
Jin seemed to brighten up considerably when Sable appeared, waving her over as she called out to them. Darren was a bit confused though as Sable insisted she needed the jogging. "Huh? What do you mean? Like, to lose weight or something?" Darren scratched his head. "...I don't see why you'd want to do that but...." Darren said matter of factly, shrugging. If she wanted to run it wasn't like he'd stop her, but he hardly understood why she might want to for the sake of image, she looked perfectly fine to him. His curiosity was directed to the strange drink Sable had though, and he just had to ask what it was.
She read the label, though that didn't really trigger anything in Darren's memory. Thankfully Sable explained further, saying it was some sort of novelty soda with different interesting flavors, and then even offered him one. Darren's face lit up with excitement and curiosity. "I love strawberries!" He blurted, happily taking hold of the drink and examining it. It was times like these where Darren really seemed awfully young at heart, a child trapped in an late teen's body. However, even though Darren was excited, he listened and took note of Sable's warning not to open it up, due to it possibly having been shaken around. "Right. Thank you so much!" Darren nodded and smiled, grateful for the gift. "Er... What is the marble? Is it just a funny sort of cap or...?" He asked, but then again he wondered if Sable even knew. After all she was just about as in the dark with the drink as he was.

She just ended up laughing for a little while before gasping for air and letting the amusement subside."No, no! Besides, I can't count on having Pokemon stay still while I try to catch them. Odds are more than a few of them will try to sprint away, so I should at least try to work on my own speed until I can, uh, figure out how to compensate,"she said, then rubbed the back of her head sheepishly. Jin mostly stayed quiet during that part of the conversation, save for snorting into his empty can at her comment on needing to eat more, not less, if she wanted to work on her figure.
Sable chuckled lightly as Darren happily took the soda, pleasantly surprised that she had managed to get him a flavor he liked. Not that that surprised her, given that most people liked strawberries. Heck, she did, too, she just got too burnt out of them at some point in time. Too many strawberry flavored things in the world..."Ah! Er, not sure, really."Darren's questions on the marble jolted the teen back to the conversation at hand and Sable gave the male a nervous chuckle."Mostly seems to be a silly cap of some sort. Just push down with that little plastic thing and it sits in the upper portion of the neck. It's a bit tricky to drink it without the marble plugging the hole back up, though."to illustrate her point, Sable took a swig from her own bottle, the one that was apparently lemon-lime flavored even though she could swear it tasted more like bubble gum. Some of it ended up getting sucked down, but the liquid level stopped lowering as, sure enough, the marble slipped off of the pair of ridges Sable tried to keep it tucked between and popped into the plastic top of the mouth, plugging the hole and stopping the flow of liquid.
Frowning, Sable tilted the bottle back to a neutral position and watched as the marble clinked back into the pinched portion of the neck."See? It's kinda weird. Still, it tastes alright, so I don't really care about the bottle being strange."Sable chuckled a bit, then flushed slightly once Jin started speaking."So, where's mine, sis? Or am I gonna have to share with you?"he asked, mostly to tease her but also because after seeing her drink two of the things and now a third being passed to Darren, he was starting to want some."Er, I, uh, well..."she stuttered briefly as she realized she had completely forgotten to get Jin one, then almost shoved the bottle at him before tucking her hands in her pockets."I'll, uh, get some more after we're done climbing. Or some normal soda. Either way."Sable was too busy trying to not look at Jin to notice that he was having no trouble keeping the marble from getting in the way as he worked at the rest of the drink.

He didn't quite understand, but it wasn't like he was angry either, just a bit embarrassed, wondering if he'd somehow made a fool of himself without knowing. It honestly wouldn't have been the first time... His only option really was to wait until Sable's laughing fit subsided enough for her to explain, though her explanation seemed even more confusing, since she pointed out that if she wanted to work on her figure she'd be eating more, rather than trying to work it off. Darren still didn't quite understand what was so funny though... He saw nothing wrong with her figure at all, heck he didn't really care about figure in general, which probably was the thing that attributed most to his confusion. Girls were just.... Confusing in general... "Er... Right...." Darren laced his hands behind his head and offered a small sheepish smile, figuring maybe he'd best just forget about it.
Once Sable was completely calm though, she went a bit further, explaining that if she had been faster, she might've caught up to the thief. "Oh! Okay, I see." Darren nodded. That, made a lot more sense. He relaxed a bit as she also pointed out that, until she had a means to compensate, faster speed and more endurance would help her chase pokemon that ran away from her, which made sense as well. The topic soon moved on towards the strange beverage that Sable had discovered. Both Sable and Darren seemed rather confused as to the purpose of the odd marble cap inside the bottle, because while it served a purpose as a cap clearly, it also was really inconvenient when trying to drink, as Sable demonstrated with another swig of her bottle. "Huh.... That's.... Very odd." He tilted is head and looked over his drink in comparison. Though the marble was inconvenient, the drink was apparently worth wrestling around the marble for at least, so Darren was willing to give it a shot. Well, when it was safe for him to open that was.
Jin then spoke up, asking if Sable had gotten him one, and it seemed that she hadn't, and very quickly shoved her bottle into Jin's hands, remarking that she'd just get more later, or maybe a normal soda. What was that all about? Darren eyed the two curiously for a moment. It seemed there was a lot of personal issues of some kind still unresolved between the two, and Darren felt a little out of place, though he did notice Jin expertly guzzling down the melon soda with ease. "Woah! Jin, how are you doing that??" Darren asked, astonished by this odd skill.

Ohhhhh mannnnn :0 That... Yes. I like the way you think xD Void uses mostly Dark, Ghost, poison, dragon, and psychic types mostly, or yes, any pokemon that's just powerful / is specifically selected to take down a threat. They're very tactical, but they also aren't bound by the rules, so yes, they will use cheap tactics and fight dirty if it comes down to it.

Sable was still more than a bit flustered as she continued making her way up the path and didn't notice Darren chatting with Jin about the soda. Jin, though, wasn't so distracted and tilted the bottle back to a neutral position before grinning at Darren."I'd say it's not that hard, but that's not exactly true. It just takes some practice,"he started, then turned the bottle around to show Darren a pair of indents in the bottle's neck, about halfway between where the neck was pinched together and the mouth of the bottle."See, you basically have to keep the marble balanced behind these two indents,"he explained, indicating the pair in question."Then you just have to be careful to not tip the bottle too far or else, well, gravity takes over. The marble'll slide over the hump and pop into the mouth. Tilt it too little, though, and you get to the point where there's a bit of liquid left and you can't get it out. It takes a bit of practice to get the balancing right."his bit of explanation done, Jin turned the bottle the right way again and took a few sips to show his point, slowly going too far so Darren could get the idea of when the marble got past the tipping point and keeping it tilted too little towards the end of the drink so he could also see what he meant about the liquid not coming out enough.
While Jin and Darren chatted, Sable got herself out of her flustered state enough to notice some sort of building set up near the base of the volcano. She squinted a bit, but found some signs that, while fare off, were close enough to make out the larger letters on them."Uh, hey? Once we're done with our hike, you two want to soak a bit? Looks like they've got some hot springs around here,"she asked as she looked back at the duo, then went back to focusing on moving up the trail. Honestly, she wouldn't have minded a nice soak herself, and she was sure they had someplace set up nearby for tourists who wanted a dip as a spur of the moment sort of thing. A place for some bathing suits and towels. Changing rooms, too. So it wasn't like it wouldn't be out of the question to stop on the way back down.
Jin immediately grinned at the thought of a dip in the hot springs, but his face fell a bit as he thought of a tiny little problem. He was still a Zorua and while he was doing okay with hiding the tail up his jacket, he wasn't exactly going to have that helping him in the spring. And while he doubted that people'd be able to see it easily with some careful towel work getting in or out, there'd still be the inevitable strands of fur to explain. Still, the idea sounded too good to pass up and he knew it would sound better after a long hike."We'll see. It would be nice to get a chance to relax after our hike~"he replied cheerfully before getting his grin back on his face.

Walking out of the arcade, Kail was suddenly, and unpleasantly, run into by some little kid. He side stepped to get his balance, frowning down at him, and then looked up as what appeared to be his sister came over. He stared, unfazed, back at her as the little boy tried to apologize and she protectively took over. What, was she his mother? It was her fault for letting the little brat run loose, and his fault for running into him. Kail held his breath, then blew out a cloud of smoke at her, not in her face, but in clear disinterest, scoffing a bit and already turning to leave before she finished. He wasn't in the mood for some b***h and her brat-- he had other things he'd rather be doing, and it wasn't worth his time to respond. He didn't fight, physically. Maybe if he got the chance, he'd see if Conglomerate could make a stand fall on the two of them or something, to teach them a lesson about 'watching where they were going', but for now he wanted to focus on his games.
Unfortunately, poor luck seemed to be becoming a theme as he tried darts, collecting his two tickets and tucking them away.
