Starseeds!
There have been many different events and individual rps that have treated the eating of starseeds differently. We know they can heal injury/speed up healing and replenish the pool of energy a character has to keep going/fighting/running/be able to teleport again/etc. So, questions -
1- For a negaverse officer, does eating a starseed boost their strength, speed, or agility at all or in addition to the benefits of healing?
2- While events might involve leeway for mechanics, how much does consuming a starseed heal an agent (light scratches and bruising disappear? one broken bone heals? many breaks and lacerations heal? etc)? Or if it doesn't act as a cure light wounds outside of approved event mechanics, how much does it speed up their healing?
1) Eating a starseed can do any of those things; if the Negaverse Officer is injured, the starseed's energy will be distributed more towards healing them; if they are healthy and just looking for a boost then it will spread evenly to boost their other stats.
2) Starseeds can heal just about anything, however the more starseeds consumed, the more danger of youmifying. A single starseed might heal light injuries but it may also provide partial healing for more major injuries like broken bones or lacerations; multiple starseeds could heal broken bones or near-death injuries fully. The number of starseeds and general effects are usually determined on a case-by-case basis by the player, however to save a character from a near death situation, multiple starseeds would need to be used; enough could be used to return them to stability but even then, too many could result in a youmification.

Is it okay to have an NPC that you later intend to transition into a powered character?
For example, you have a character with a pet cat that is treated as an NPC. But you would eventually like said pet cat to awaken as a guardian cat. Would this be allowed?
Yes! In the instance of civilian characters, it is fine to have a civilian NPC eventually be quested as a PC in the shop. If you would like a pet cat to be awakened as a Guardian Cat it might be a little more complicated so you would need to PM the mule with plot ideas so we can help establish a few things—but ultimately, yes, this is possible as well!

On the Negaverse/DMC alliance - I have a few questions surrounding its state! Firstly, does it still exist? The Negaverse Training Manual states that it does - Quote: The Negaverse and the Dark Mirror Court have an alliance – albeit a strained one. But there are some characters that acknowledge it does not exist any longer. Was there any official announcement or IC dissemination that the alliance has dissolved? This might be a view that transpired from the White Phoenix events, but I am not certain. It may also have transpired from collective dislike of the alliance's existence in the Negaverse Feedback Thread. Secondly, what are the Negaverse's and the Dark Mirror's respective political stances on this alliance? For example, assuming the IC information guide is up to date, the Negaverse views it as a strained alliance. Does the Dark Mirror have an official Court stance on it? This question asks for the faction's political stance - individual views may differ or clash, but it's aimed toward any Royal Decree possibly released by the faction heads. Alliances come about for mutual benefit (or forced hand) of the parties involved. As the Negaverse is the far larger party, it does not need to form an alliance with the DMC. As they have done so, I figure there must be either a benefit to joining with the DMC or a serious detriment in not joining with them. For benefits to the Negaverse, I've considered extra magical power brought from the Dark Mirror, added forces against the enemy. For detriments if the Negaverse doesn't agree, I figure there's adding a second front to the war. (Leto knowing Zinkenite's identity is a neutralizing factor, with Zinkenite having the benefit with instant teleportation if a war was declared between them). For the Dark Mirror, the benefits to the alliance are pretty obvious by having a far larger force for protection. The detriment, however, is that the force contains a lot of loose cannons and people just gone weird from that chaos energy. The point of all this is that, for an alliance to continue and not become nullified, there has to be a more powerful force against that nullification. The DMC are not in a position of power within the alliance, so it must persist due to Negaverse decision. If the alliance is still in effect, what reasons are there for keeping it? How do those reasons outweigh dropping the Mirror Court altogether and leaving them a neutral party, especially if the alliance is legal fiction? And what were the reasons for originally forming an alliance? Edit - IN ADDITION to all of this, there was an announcement posted august 7th, 2013 stating the alliance was dissolved. Three days later, the Negaverse IC Information Guide was posted stating the aforementioned strained alliance. Which one is correct? The DMC/Negaverse Alliance exists between characters, not the faction. The two factions tolerate each other, however they are no longer bound by any political promises they made between each other. Because it us up to the individual characters, there are some characters who will choose to honor the previous alliance and those who don't care for it. Both factions were given information on it ICly:
The Dark Mirorr Court (Sent by Leto through Communicators):Quote: All Dark Mirror Senshi have received a message from Eternal Sailor Leto on their compact mirror communicators to let them know that they are no longer bound by their previous alliance with the Negaverse. All members are encouraged to maintain their relations with the Negaverse as they are not the enemy, however if engaged in battle with them they should fight back. Dark Mirror Court Senshi are able to work with the Negaverse as little or as much as they like. The Negaverse (Told by Laurelite in a Public Meeting): Quote: "Finally, I would like to note that the alliance with the Dark Mirror Senshi has.. changed." "Given the disappearance of their leader and the rash of wraith attacks on our own members they have become more of a liability then an asset. This does not mean you should hunt them down or attack them in the same way you do our true enemies. Do not let yourself become too distracted in your dealings with the Dark Mirror Senshi either, your focus remains with our enemies, the White Moon Senshi and Knights. But if you are engaged in battle by one of them or their monsters you can and should fight back." "If you have made personal connections with any of the members you are free to continue working with them. Just remember the Negaverse is your true family. If you prefer not to assist them in any way we will not force you. The exact strength of our alliance is fluid and if they, in the future, have more to offer us as a group we will review our alliance and make changes as necessary. But for the time being, view them however you please. Refrain from direct, unelicited slaughter as we are not true enemies, but other than that make up your own minds as to how much you would like to trust or work with them, if at all." This dissemination dissolved well before the White Phoenix and occurred after Ares disappeared and the Mirror Wraiths begun to go crazy. Though the Mirror Wraiths are no longer under control, neither faction attempted to rekindle the Alliance in an official capacity; they both have their rules on how to deal with the other faction but it is left to individual characters/players to determine how their character acts.
The official IC stance on the alliance can be found in the quotes above.
OOCly, the factions have no reason to be enemies, but they have elected that they no longer need to stick out their necks for one another. The Negaverse was the deciding factor in this; Laurelite had a meeting with Leto where she explained why the Negaverse would no longer be supporting the Dark Mirror Court. A link to this roleplay can be found in the August 7th link you provided. OOCly, it would negatively impact all Chaos players whose characters have formed close bonds with other members from the other Chaos faction. There is no reason for the DMC and the Negaverse to be enemies, and though their political alliance is dissolved, neither faction has encouraged attacking the other. Players may elect not to heed this instruction (As in the White Phoenix Event, where these players were later punished). Both Factions prioritize their own above all else, but see the benefits of having allies from the other faction. If you have further questions or require more clarification, please let us know, but the official ruling on the matter is that the Official Alliance is no longer maintained, members of both faction are expected to play nice (unless a direct threat or impeding of a goal occurs).

I'm asking this for future reference and before I forget ~
If I have a nega who awakened without a past life or Knight's wonder, and purified him, How would he be assigned a wonder? Is it through the code?
All presently purifying Negaverse officers must have had a Wonder in a past life; the shop is not presently ready to introduce new Knight Wonders, sorry!

There's been more body variation on the male powered templates lately, but will there ever be any varied female templates aside from f17 -- i.e. muscular, or chubby less-so than F17?
It's possible! Our artists will work with players to help make sure the templates reflect the characters our players want to introduce to the shop, but this often means that a template might not be edited until someone requests it. Some artists may not be able or willing to do the specific template changes, so sometimes multiple artists have to work together to introduce these new or tweaked templates. If there is a template that you want for your character, the best thing to do is work with your artist! You can double check who might be willing to do what!

Hopefully this hasn't asked before!
Say there is a sphere I would like to quest, someone else is questiing that sphere but their quest has been inactive for over a year.
Is there some sort of permissible time frame we should be waiting before we can try questing for the sphere or are those spheres locked forever?
This is up to you and whatever you feel is a respectable amount of time! The shop has no specific ruling on what is an appropriate time or not; sometimes people have active quests for the same sphere or name running at the same time and it is simply a manner of luck to determine who wins it first. We encourage everyone to try and be respectful, but if a quest has been inactive for over a year it should be fine if you want to quest for the same sphere.

Can a Negaverse Agent reach into a chest and push tiny amounts of Chaos into a starseed for the sake of pain/torture/etc. without turning said person into a youma/upgrading them?
Like... They pull their hand out and stop after a few seconds of it? >>"
To a degree, yes; the body can only take so much before it would start to build up, but you would work with the player (or staff) to determine what was a fair limit. If you wanted to use Chaos for the sake of torture, this could definitely work. Youmification might only occur after an extended period of time, so there is definitely a lot of wiggle room in how much a character could take before they youmified. Torturing with bursts of Chaos for a short period of time/nothing too extensive would probably be fine!

Another player and I are discuasing the merits of a 'past-life kingdom' that would form a present-day team. All we have come up with so far is that it would be Egyptian themed and might be called the 'Nile Kingdom'. I'd to know what this would entail. We're not sure how far this would go, whether it would be just a tiny group that would not effect others or bigger.
Current day Senshi teams can indeed be influenced/based on a past life team that the players were once apart off. This can be done, if you want, through visiting your home planet and finding information based on this team and with help of other players be able to create it in present day play with your characters. We do ask though, that you stay clear of calling it a Kingdom, as that implies the team was built on a very large scale encompassing something far greater than we can accept without a fully formed plot and further details. Also based on you imposed name for this group, we would like to advise you that the name Nile is already a claimed Wonder for a character and would not be applicable for your group to claim for their Senshi team, sorry!

Okay, I'm back with some past life questions!
How "human" do past life races have to be? Like would an overall humanoid looking, but semi-aquatic race with vibrant skin colors be an acceptable race for a past planet? Or should players stick to "normal" looking humanoid races, with little variation in appearance from present day humans?
Also, I remember reading somewhere that you couldn't have a character be a prince/princess/etc in their past life unless you'd unlocked them as a Stage Four character in present day. But what exactly does that mean? Is it in reference to the princess stage as a powered stage only, or does it mean the title period? For example, say historically in the past Sailor Taco is always royalty on their planet - if not born in, then traditionally married into the family. They are a prince/princess in title, but they do not have the powers and abilities of a Stage Four character. Would that be okay by shop standard?
Past life races can have additional features as long as they are still recognizable as human. So vibrant colored skin, elfin features, horns etc. But they can not have addition arms, legs (or organs), or anything that would detract them from the basic human body plan. So for example an semi-aquatic race could have green skin, webbed ears and gills but they wouldn't have mermaid fins or tentacles.
Regarding your character being of Royal lineage in the past, this is completely acceptable. There have been examples of this already in play with characters having the role of Empress. As long as you take into account that it is nothing to do with being an actual Royal Senshi Prince/ess. They would have no additional powers and will not have access to their planets Crystal and would go by the name "Princess Civilian-name" and not "Princess Senshi-name.

I've been seeing in some rps recently writing characters as recognizing each other by aura alone, or individualizing descriptions of auras like: "Senshi A feels bubbly like champagne.", "Senshi B feels like warm honey and cream." Some descriptors can be chalked up to writer's license and style, making the text more appealing to the eye, or intended to show the interpreting character as creative or imaginative. Recognizing specifically casual acquaintances though as individuals had an old ruling- pg. 15 of the old MQ&A, and I wanted to get a current-team clarification on whether it still stands that it is only under extenuating circumstances that characters recognize each other by aura alone, and that the most that is actually different/discernible is the rank and affiliation (thus reinforcing that flowery description is just individual character interpretation rather than actual difference in the auras). Since sometimes rulings change (like the existence now of 3-faction swaps)! So, does this chart still stand, or are characters allowed to recognize each other more casually based on individual color/feel to their aura similar to their magic/starseed individualization? For simplicity, here's the old ruling: Demy-Stardust ^ Going off of the above, I've kind of always thought everyone's energy felt somewhat different. Not as far as level of powers go (as all Captains should feel similar, all Eternals, etc) But like as an example, in my imagination I'd have Schee's energy reading pegged as clearly rolling in the negative energy since he's a General now, but with a tint of hyperactivity to it. Like...it'd feel like really wound up dark energy, and those who encountered him enough might eventually learn to feel that out and know it's him (and I wouldn't mind this, really XD). Is something like that okay? Akina: No one has a special energy signature, unfortunately. You feel just like everyone else in your faction feels. It is too messy to say that individuals have special signatures.
Ness sort of touched on a bit of canon about it, but the assumption should be that no one has special energy. If someone recognizes an energy signature belonging to one person, it would have to be super rare and only for exceptionally close connections, as Ness touched on above. It wouldn't be that Schee feels hyperactive to EVERYONE -- but more that one special person might say, "I know it's you because it feels hyperactive to me." Does that make sense? His energy signature isn't actually different, but someone with a particular affinity with him might think it is just because they know him so well.
These are the different kinds of energy we have:
DARK SIDE
- Lieutenants - Captains - Generals - GQ/GK
- Corrupt Senshi - Corrupt Super - Corrupt Eternal - Corrupt Prince/ss
- Corrupt Cat Form - Corrupt Halfbreed Form
LIGHT SIDE
- Senshi - Super - Eternal - Prince/ss
- Page - Squire - Knight - Templar
- Parallel Senshi - Parallel Super - Parallel Eternal - Parallel Princess
- Parallel Cavalier
- Parallel Cat Form - Parallel Halfbreed Form
- Cat Form - Halfbreed Form
Each one of these will feel different, but the members within those groupings would feel the same.Makes sense to me, thank you! <3 The old ruling is still in place on that one! Characters do not have unique flavors to their auras, however if you have a close bond to someone you may find yourself more able to distinguish their specific energy signature. This is something that would be developed over time and would occur because of your familiarity with the character and their energy signature. In these instances, the character might feel as though there is something unique or special about an aura, however it would only be because they are familiar enough with it to have developed some recognition of it. While they may be able to tell if a close friend is in the area by the familiarity to the energy signature, they might not be able to distinguish between the close energy signature of different friends; this is somewhat up to player choice, but it should not be assumed that you can always tell who someone is (aside from their faction or rank).

seeing plum blossoms senshi reminded me of this!
is it possible to get art of your senshi with some element of their magic displayed? are there restrictions/guidelines to its use in art? if allowed, what are the requirements that artists and players must subscribe to in its depiction?
Within reason, some small element of a character's sphere or magic can be reflected on the art. This should be absolutely minor if depicted on the art and can be likened to an accessory. This is handled on a case by case basis, so players may ask their artists if what they want is acceptable, and if the artist feels like it may be toeing the line they can then consult the rest of the staff!

I've got two~
1) About Senshi catch-phrases/challenges:
In the canon Sailor Moon Anime, when Sailor Moon first transforms, she finds herself saying her catchphrase to the enemy, without having any control over what she was saying. Only after she finished her catchphrase did she seem to get a reality check and realize what she had just said. Does the same apply to shop sailors? As in, senshi involuntarily say their catchphrase when they come upon an enemy, with no conscience as to what they are saying until after the phrase is said. Or, do they have complete control over what they are saying?
2) About Names:
If a wonder/celestial object is claimed by a player for past life rp, does that mean it is no longer questable by any other players? What if the wonder is being actively quested by Player A at the time the same wonder is applied to a different character as a past life by Player B? What is to happen? Who has priority over the existing Wonder?
1) You do not have to say your catchphrase to the enemy (it is a player choice!); we only ask for it for cert purposes!
2) If a wonder/celestial body is claimed for a past life, then it is no longer questable. If two players are questing for the same thing, whoever wins the slot first may claim it, regardless of if it was intended to be a present wonder or a past life wonder.

I asked this privately, but I thought the answer worth sharing;
How much metal can a senshi have in their uniform?
Can they have armor?
Can a character's physical features change because of some magic effect, like switching sides or merging with a youma? How much is allowable, if it's part of a plot?
Senshi should not have large amounts of metal armor and the shop has been more lenient with allowing cloth armor in the past. Small amounts of armor may appear on a Senshi (such as a bracer, gauntlets, shin guards, etc wink but all armor should be approved on an individual basis to ensure that no rules are being broken. We will work with players and artists when this issue arises, but for the most part senshi armor is strongly discouraged!
A character's physical features may also change due to magical affects, such as switching sides or merging with a youma, but this will only be fully discussable when a plot is submitted. We are willing to work with players based on their wants and needs, so what is approved depends on the plot, the reasoning, and the desired changes!
