Gannon…
True, Gannon knew exactly how the woman felt about him. In fact, he recalled a time when she had even resorted to using a charm to try and sway his opinion of her. Even so, he still felt a pang of guilt, knowing he never really returned those feelings. "You know I don't want anything to happen to you. I don't think I'd be able to deal with something like that again. That's why we're going to have to get out of here soon. But I promise that Once this is taken care of, I'll be back."

Rhaplanca

Rhaplanca's shaking had ceased but exhaustion has soon followed the once relentless tremors. She sat there, resting her chin on her knees. The sweet torture of sleep pulling at her eyelids. Hikari's sudden appearance startled her out of it and kicked on her protective mode.
"H-Hikari?!" she noticed Hikari's condition was worse than before, "What are you doing here? You aren't in any condition to be out alone!" she chastised in a motherly tone.

If there was anything that Melody was good at, it was masking her feelings. Her face displayed no emotion, even if she felt the sting of rejection yet again. She chuckled. "What is it about Reyvateils? Is it their heavenly voices, or just the rush they get while protecting a damsel in distress? I wonder if you'd feel differently for me if I ever got myself into trouble?" She winked impishly. Secretly, she'd been jealous of his friend. Mainly because she'd known all along that the friend had been slightly more than a friend. And it seemed that history was likely to repeat itself.
Melody could get over the fact that Gannon wasn't likely going to start changing how he felt for her. She was happy for the close bond they shared, anyway. What bothered her was knowing his past, it worried her that he was setting himself up for heartache and failure yet again.
"Anyway, you're planning on leaving soon right?" She sighed. "It's for the best, yes... but I still wish I'd gotten to see you a bit more first." When he mentioned about coming back, she gave him a light slap on the shoulder. "Yes, you should you jerk! At least drop in more than once a year! I mean, look at you, showing up on my doorstep completely missing your wonderful horns..." She pursed her lips out, pouting.

Hikari~

"You remember my name...? Now I feel awful," Hikari murmured. "Your name was... Rhaplanca...? Sorry, it's really hard for me to focus right now." She glanced down sheepishly. "I was left alone back at the inn, and I went out looking for everyone. I don't know, but I felt really alone and got scared. Maybe they left me behind. I am sort of being a burden, right?" She smiled sadly over at Rhaplanca. "But you looked unwell, too. Are you sure that you should be out?"

Gannon…
"Well, if I knew where they were, I'd give 'em to ya! Though, I'd kinda be a little worried about what ya'd do with 'em..." The Teru grinned a bit, trying to lighten the mood. "Tell ya what. We'll stay until Hikari's up for the trip. It's the least I can do for ya. 'Sides. Believe it or not, I truly did miss you. And, yes," He added before she could speak up. "If you ever got into trouble, I'd be right there guarding you, too."

Rhaplanca

Rhaplanca nodded in confirmation of her name and looked sincere, "I truly doubt they left you behind. Gannon looked so protective of you," she reassured Hikari.
"Don't be afraid," she smiled warmly, "If we wait here together they might find you," Rhaplanca had a brief flashback of Rhemi and herself lost somewhere.
- Rhemi: "Don't cry Rhaplanca," the memory of Rhemi hugging Rhaplanca on the floor inside the tower when they were children tore at her heart, "Nelia will find us soon! All we have to do is stay put and she'll find us. If we move around it'll just make it harder for her to find us." -
Rhaplanca's bittersweet memory removed her smile but not her sincerity, "Moving around will just make it harder for them to find you," she felt nostalgic tears well up and she just blinked them away, "You are no burden," she said as she looked up at the sky, "Third Generation or not, in my eyes we are equal. In fact I think I'd give anything to be you," Rhaplanca debated confiding in Hikari.
"Hikari?" she whispered with her eyes closed, "I have a secret I can't tell anyone and it's ripping me apart," She hugged her legs tighter, "I want to confide in you," she admitted, "Will you hear me out? As a friend?" Rhaplanca had tilted her head down to where her eyes weren't visible to hide her emotions.

Hikari~

It was the first time that Hikari had met another Reyvateil outside of captivity. Actually, it was the first time for almost everything she'd experienced the past few days. Meeting and making friends with Gannon and Mana, travelling, eating when she felt like it. And most of all, being free to wander and roam when she felt like it.
She gazed over at the other Reyvateil. "A... friend? Another Reyvateil... as a friend? But aren't you a Ăź-type? What use would befriending someone like me do you?" She asked Rhaplanca. Hikari felt happy that the other Reyvateil had deemed her worthy of a friend, and had even spoken of them as equals but surely she wasn't even worthy to be in the presence of said Reyvateil. A pathetic Third-Generation and a powerful Ăź-type? Friends? The thought would make many people laugh at the absurdity. She then thought that maybe the girl was mocking her so she did a double-take and looked directly into her eyes. Blue met blue. Still, all Hikari could see was a young girl, burdened, frightened and lonely, same as Hikari was herself. And also looking for a friend. She nodded. "If I'm really worthy... I mean... if you can actually bring yourself to be friends with someone like me, then, I'll stay. I can't really walk anymore, anyway, and I'm happy to have found someone to sit with me. But, I'm scared and I don't want to be alone right now, so please don't leave me, okay?" Hikari hated how she sounded so helpless, or how she trembled. The feeling was starting to fade, but the memory of it haunted her. Idiot! You can't beg favors from someone superior to you! You're not worth their time. You should be happy that you can actually be of use to her! Her mind reprimanded her, repeating what she'd been taught all of her life. Full-blooded Reyvateils were revered and loved by everyone. Teru were also highly respected. Humans were also respected for the most part. However, anyone caught in between was lower than dirt, and not deemed worthy. And so, the world around Hikari kept turning like that and she found herself caught up in it, unable to escape the restraints. "S-sorry... Forgive me. It must be the fever talking. Never mind what I said, please." She tried to smile. "If I can help you, please, let me do so."

The Teru woman smiled at Gannon. "Well, I suppose I'll accept that," she said smiling. "And no, I couldn't bear to own your horns. They were so beautiful on your head," she reached over and patted the top of his head, the pout still on her face. Her hands fell to her sides once again. "I'd like it if you stayed, but I will help take care of that girl. However, if she truly is F.P.D. positive, then eventually she will completely relapse and she'll no longer be herself. What will you do?" Melody bit her lip nervously. She shook her head. "Never mind. Stupid question. Well, shall we head back, or was there something else on your mind...? You know, I do have more of those charms if you're interested..."

Rhaplanca

At first Rhaplanca suspected Hikari's initial doubt of friendship as being Rhaplanca's fault. Of course she wouldn't want to befriend me... I'm sure plenty of Ăź Reyvateils have treated her like dirt. Rhaplanca squeezed her knees.
A glimmer of hope from Hikari's need for her to stay let Rhaplanca look up into her eyes, "Sure," she said as she spread herself out as to open up, "I'll stay until they find you... and thank you," she smiled lightly. She took in a deep breath and debated it once more. She had decided that even if they couldn't travel together perhaps the truth would one day help her find Nelia. For some reason she only felt comfortable telling another Reyvateil, "I have a mission," she began uncomfortably then paused, "Please keep it a secret," she begged and continued, "I really just need to tell someone to kinda lift the weight you know?" she sighed, "The Goddess... is missing. I have been sent to find her and it seems others have been sent to destroy her," she looked away doubting Hikari would believe such an impossible truth, "What's worse is that without the Goddess to reveal the location of the Life Giver, the eternal singer, there can be no replacement for her when her power has begun to fail," she frowned and pushed herself to reveal more, "and I am the replacement."
She sighed heavily with a crushing weight on her heart. Her teary eyes wouldn't meet back to Hikari, "I trust you with this."

Hikari~

"..." Hikari paled considerably. It's my fault... it's all my fault... She trembled slightly and hugged herself tighter. She didn't know what she could say. She couldn't possibly apologize for all the trouble she'd caused this girl. "I... love the Goddess," she finally spoke. "There was very little I had to believe in from the time I was little but I always believed in Her. And I wished every day that I could finally meet Her. That she would love me. I was told that she loved everyone equally and that she thinks of us all as her little children." At this, Hikari managed a smile, even if it faded right away. "I want to help you. Maybe that's what I'm supposed to do... I mean... I want to meet her!" Hikari corrected herself. She couldn't bring herself to tell this girl the horrible truth about herself. Maybe it was because it was a truth that she didn't want. She would gladly have given everything, including her very life, if she could have taken back what had happened. If only she would have known why they had forced her to sing that Hymn, she would have refused no matter what. The whole reason that she was being pursued was because of that Hymn. "I won't tell anyone about what you told me. That's a promise."
She was quiet for awhile, when she suddenly spoke up. "I need to ask you something... If someone was born into the world with the sole purpose of destroying it... would they deserve to be destroyed? Even if they had no intention of hurting anybody?"

Rhaplanca

Rhaplanca felt a painful reminder of Vegna and Noaah's mission. Her expression was bitter but her voice was still calm, "It depends," she returned her gaze to Hikari's equally sad eyes, "Say if someone knew that they were created to do something so horrible and they followed it without question and even found pleasure in it," she gritted her teeth, "I would do everything in my power to silence that person," Noaah's innocent face came to mind and her eyes lost all ferocity, "However, if someone was created to do something they aren't even aware of," she paused, "I would think as long as they fought against such a horrible fate that they are deemed worthy to live and be free," that was it. She couldn't hurt Noaah, and she didn't have the heart to tell him either. However, his decision once he found out would be the decided factor in Rhaplanca's eyes, "To tell the truth, I would deem the creators of such a horrible burden on someone to be irrevocably unforgivable more so than the one who finds a pleasure in destroying," she added thinking of Vegna as well. Everyone is worth trying to save... so what if I could save Vegna as well? The thought seemed as unreachable as the very stars in the sky.

Hikari~

She nodded slightly but was still feeling unsure. "But if it's too late... if they've already made that mistake before realizing they did... they deserve to be punished..." Fearing that she'd said too much she fell silent.
The Third-Generation shook her head sadly. "If that power does fail, and the Goddess can't be found or it turns out that she's been..." Hikari found it hard to breathe by this point, "destroyed... then that means that the tower will be no more and everyone... they'll die?"

Vegna "Hahaha..." Vegna's hand covered his face as he shook his head, hiding behind a building. He raised his head up towards the sky, revealing his blood red gaze and grinning up at the sky, and at any God or Goddess that was watching him from it's throne above. "Of course... 'Rhaplanca'... Makes sense now." So the girl was the replacement for the Chronicle of Orgel? He should have killed her when he had a chance. This tower, without a power source, would be drained nearly instantly because of all it's daily power usage, and collapse, bringing with it Nelia, wherever she resides. But... He had it in his mind to make things a bit more... 'interesting'.
What use was killing the pathetic Reyvateil now, if he could toy with her and her little group a little more? He'd be the cat, clawing and torturing his prey before gobbling it up whole, viciously. Vegna had overheard the conversation that Hikari and Rhaplanca were having, and couldn't help but smirk when he noticed that the girl was talking about him, making him out to be such a terrible person. He only smirked, shrugging. "Just doing what I'm supposed to."
Before he could hear anymore, though, he began walking away, making sure to stay unnoticed as he blended into the shadows, this time truely leaving the premises. NoaahMeanwhile, Noaah lay motionless in his bed, his breathing soft and unbothered by anything, eyes at rest behind his eyelids.
| A place, high, high, high above the energy which swirled above, the catastrophic energy that stopped all from moving upwards, was a secret place. A secret place which was inhabited by a beloved person. Atop this great tower, Noaah stood, dressed in some mechanical outfit, his chest rising and falling with pants, desperately trying to breathe in air, lack of oxygen hitting him hard because he'd been running to meet with this person.
There she was... My, was she beautiful too. Silky, long and flowing white hair, her body wrapped in a skin tight outfit of white, golden metal adorning her hair and body in glimmering accesories. She sure was beautiful, yes... But who was she? She wasn't facing him, so he couldn't tell. Noaah shyly stepped forward, his hands going up to the helmet he wore and lifting it off his hea, freeing his own silken snow white hair, his deep blue eyes searching for an answer.
"Excuse me... Who are you...?" He asked, entranced by the pretty girl. She didn't seem to notice his voice, raising her head towards the inifinite expanse of sky, stretching out her arms in a cross formation and waiting. Noaah too, waited, until finally, something seemed to happen. The tower underneath seemed to vibrate slightly, almost as though it had a heartbeat, as he noticed the girl in front of him was preparing for something.
And then she sang. A voice like white light, shining down into an abyss of darkness to dispel the evil within, or the sunlight piercing through dark clouds and casting away the rain. Her voice was life and purity. Her voice sang:
"Wee yea ra enne ar sar. Wee yea ra enne ar dor. Wee yea ra enne ar ciel. Rrha yea ra ieeya en near." |
Noaah's eyes stirred in his sleep, as they softly opened, fluttering gently. "Lyrics..." he whispered, his eyes closing once more. He had had this dream before, but never had he heard those lyrics to a song... What did they mean? What were they wishing for? The only thing he knew, was that when he closed his eyes and went back to sleep...
He felt as though Ar Tonelico were giving him a blessing through that song.

Hikari~

She took hold of the stuffed animal and her face lit up, showing a blush. "Really? You mean, I can have this?" She stared at it dumbly for a moment as if unsure of what to do with it. Then she hugged it. "Thank you! This is the first time I've ever recieved a present." She stared off thoughtfully for a moment but a worried look appeared on her face. Before, Rhaplanca had mentioned something about the Goddess and replacing someone. "An Eternal Singer... something has been bothering me about that. You say that there is a girl singing to keep us all safe, but her power is failing. And you're the replacement for that girl? How long do you have to sing? Until your power fails, too? If we found the Goddess, she could fix it, right?" She hugged the stuffed Pepen to her chest. "Being locked away only to sing forever... That means that we'd never see each other again, would we?"
