David walked into the garage and hopped into his 1974 Monte Carlo. It was all black, with black 28 inch rims. He had read the note, and he was watching when the others sped off. He didn't feel like being left out, so he was going too, just not in Scott's car. If he caught them, they would be the ones to get an accidental Optic Beam in the back during training sessions, not him. Once he was in, he revved the powerful engine and peeled out of the garage and onto the street. In no time at all he had caught up with the others. Using his skills as a driver, he sped up, then pulled alongside them. He let down the tinted windows and waved.

"Well, I can also move things around with my mind... y'know, telekinesis. Ellen said telepathically, as she put a spoonful of Sugar Crisp into her mouth. That was one of the perks of telepathy; you could talk with your mouth full, and no one would yell at you. She briefly picked up on Blade's thoughts about being a runaway, but didn't broadcast her awareness. As long as she didn't slip up, she wouldn't give out any unnecessary information.

Conner had watched the black US muscle car peal out of the garage from the corner of his eye and wondered who the driver was, he hadn't seen him around. This place is getting a hell of a lot of new students in a short space of time he thought to himself as he levered the rear panel off of the van and carried it to a nearby workbench. must be something in the air He opened the toolbox and placed the tools he had been using back in their places before finding the welding torch, solder wire and hammer. Once he had everything he began to pummel the gash in the metal panel so the jagged edges roughly met.

"Wow. That's great!" Blade praised her. "All I can do is make smoke and control it." Blade looked at her hands. "You know, it's kinda wierd. Before, I wanted so much to find someone who could explain what's happened to me . . . but now . . . to know that I'm not that special any more . . ." Blade looked up at Ellen. "Kind of a let down." For a rare moment, Blade eyes were sad. After a second, she shook her head. "But hey! I'd rather not mope about it when I can get better! It's just like in gymnastics. I have to try my best."

Grimacing as he chugged down the last, lingering dregs of coffee from the mug clenched in his hand, Lance Alvers, everyone's favorite morning person, quickly spent what bits of energy he had left by mindlessly shuffling over to the refrigerator. Still disoriented by the lack of sleep he had gotten the night/morning before, his plan was to open it in search of food, even though he had already done so just a few moments prior and to no avail. Frowning as he went to tear open his eyes, he had just started the motion of extending his arm toward the handle when something...something he had not noticed before caught his attention.

It was a note. A note, plan as day, stuck post-it style about eye level with him to the fridge door. Pulling the hot pink bit of paper off, he recognized the elegant, yet oddly cramp script almost immediately.

It was Mystique's. Oh dear...

"Hey. You," he mumbled, pointing in the direction of one of the newbies. David, he thought his name was...the really ecstatic one. "Read this," he barked, holding the note out for him to take. "Aloud. Please."

Of course, Lance was perfectly capable to read this note on his own, but that was only under normal circumstances. As of now, all the uniform letters were melting into one, and the brightness of the paper was starting to give him a headache.

"Sure thing. Ahem...," David said, taking the note and clearing his throat. He squinted a bit to make out the letters against the brightly colored stationary, and then began speaking in his clearest voice.

"My loyal Brotherhood...

You will soon be receiving a new member to your little group. His skills will be invaluable to a little mission that I have planned for you in the near future. I believe some of you will already know him, a certain Mr. Morgan Onasi. He shall be arriving later today. Shortly after he does, I will be returning to explain the details of this little mission. I expect you all to be on your best behavior.

I shall see you all later today,

Mystique."

"Huh. That sounds... um... Actually, I don't know how that sounds," David said, scratching his head as he finished reading the note.

"Oh goody." Lizz said dryly sipping her coffee. "Anouther inmate for the ole asylum." She said looking at David. She looked at Lance. "Morgan Onasi? I'll have to assume you know him...cause I've never heard the name before." She admitted.

Sara pursed her lips as they hit the turn off for downtown. "Well. I kinda wanted to hit up the clothing shops iffin ya'll don't mind." She said chiming in with her request. "I need a few new shirts and maybe a pair of jean or somethin." She said.

Laura's head popped up from it's position over her bowl as David read the note from Mystique. "Morgan Onasi? He's one of the X-men. Why would he be comming here?"

Rogue opened her eyes, and blinked. She turned her head to look at the clock, and saw that it was about time to get up. Yawning, she sat up and blinked at the end of the bed. She flipped off the covers and got up, making her way to her closet. She picked out her jeans, green tank top and net shirt, and placed them on the bed. After brushing out her hair she got dressed and put on her make up. Then, grabbing her biker gloves off the dresser, she left the room and went downstairs to the kitchen.

"I dunno, but the note says that we're going to need his help for whatever Miss Blue has planned for us later," David said, attaching the note to the fridge with a spare magnet. "But I guess we'll find out for sure tonight. What do we do until then?" he asked, scratching his head once more. A combination of sugary cereal and the caffeine in the coffee had fully revived him from his earlier sleepyness, and he was now his usual, disturbingly cheerful self.

----------------------------------------

"Anything is fine by me. If we were back in Montreal, I'd say to hit Ste. Catherine street, but we'll have to settle for good ole' Main Street," Morgan replied to Sara's comments. "Onward, to shopping!!"

"Well, this is just lovely."

In his wanderings throughout the mansion, Damon had managed to get himself hopelessly lost amidst the halls and doorways. Even now, he was strolling through a random parlor that he had stumbled upon by accident. It didn't help that the decor was fairly similar in each room either. His eyes wandered around the room, searching for any indication of where he was. It was furnished with wood easy-chairs and carpeted, much like the other den he had been in. It was obviously intended for comfort. Still, not what Damon was looking for.

Pushing through the parlor, his feet making soft thuds as he made contact with wood paneling again. It was another hallway, much to his dismay, but a set of doors, larger than he had seen before, lay a short way down it.

"At least it's different," was his remark as he made his was over to the doors to who-knows-where. Damon was dumbfounded at all this space; the larger the mansion seemed the more overwhelming it became to him. He was beginning to suspect that staying in one place was the best idea. Someone would come rescue him from his hopeless wanderings.

The doors were open, giving Damon a clear view of the expansive library within. It was a marvel, easily dwarfing many school libraries that Damon had seen in both the size of its room and its collection. he took a few uncertain steps, feeling slightly more at home amidst the stoic tomes, each individual novel standing as if it were on guard in the impressive room. The collection was remarkable, and Damon was filled with awe at the sheer amount of material that he was in the presence of. Tracing a hand over the covers in the closest row, he traced his eyes over the titles, knowing a few here and there, but otherwise just reading the titles and gaining the knowledge of their existence.

One book in particular caught his eye, a small smile spreading across his face as he removed it from the shelf. Memories of Ice, a fairly recent books, rested in his hands. He had finished reading it a while ago, and he remembered his frustration at how another one of his favorite characters had died. That seemed to happen quite a lot in the books he liked.

Taking the book to one of the tables in the room, he sat at one of the chairs. The book had a hardback cover, unlike his own copy at home, and the paper cover of the hard cover had a wonderful illustration of two characters from the story. With a contented sigh, Damon opened the book to a random chapter, immersing himself as he recalled the adventures of Toc the Younger.

Keeping her mouth shut and listening intently for an opinion from either passenger, but habit, Victoria steered the convertible off the highway and into what she considered to be the heart of Bayville.

"Shopping?" Victoria repeated after Sara, and glanced at the still slightly smoldering mall in the distance. "Well, the mall's out," she laughed. "But Main Street sounds like it might be an alright alternative.

Glancing around as she eased down the road, she kept her eyes open for Main Street, and spotted it after only a few moments. Snapping on the appropriate turn signal Victoria pulled into Main Street without a moments hesitation. From what she could tell, as she cruised to a parking lot mid-way down the road, was the Main Street seemed to have a little bit of everything. There were some nondescript clothing stores, at least one large electronic store, some random etc. or everything stores but most importantly, there was a food court.

"And we're here," announced Victoria, impromptu driver as she wheeled into a parking space, shut of the car, pulled the keys out of the ignition and made her exit.

'Need his help?' Laura thought incredulously to herself. 'His martial arts may be nothing to spit at, and he does have both his forcefields and invisiblity to aide him, but I'm the second Weapon X project. My healing is far better, as are my reflexes, and it's not like my stealth, claws, and training don't make up for the extra powers....' Out loud, though, she merely emmitted a thoughtful "Hmm..." as she pondered.

She finished off her cereal, and got up to put the dishes in the sink. As she crossed the crowded space, she answered David's question. "Well. I don't really care what we do. Are there any good movies out? Seeing as I've been a bit busy lately, I'm a bit behind on what's showing."

Rogue rounded the corner and found two girls whom she didn't know occupying the space. It seemed like the institute was getting new recruits left, right, and center. The girls were in the middle of a conversation, but a quick hello never hurt anyone. "Mornin'. You two don't happen to know where everyone is by any chance do you?"

Conner screwed the final bolt that fixed the panel back onto the van and took a step back; the gash in the panel was now welded back together. the look of the van was spoiled by the tarnished silver look of the solder. A look around the garage had produced a tin of matt-black paint but sleep was his first priority now.
He yawned as he replaced the tools he had used and placed the tin of paint on the ramp by the van and brought the ramp back down to solid ground.
Conner replaced the keys in the lock box and switched off the lights then trudged back to the mansion. His first port of call was the kitchen, he barely registered the other occupants in the room as he washed his hands in the kitchen sink and started the kettle boiling.

"We're all special... just like everyone else." Ellen grinned, thinking her joke was rather funny, "and it's no big deal, Blade; your power's got its uses. You could knock someone out with chloroform or whatever" She took another bite of her cereal, painfully aware of how slow she was eating. Of course, if she ate any faster, she'd look like a pig. Hopefully, the other girl wouldn't mind her eating habits.

((Sorry I've taken so long to reply. Also, I'm gonna be out all weekend and Monday... just in case anyone's wondering. Xd))

"Hehe." Blade laughed at Ellen's joke. When another girl came into the room, Blade tilted her head to the side with a smile. "Hi! I'm Blade and this is Ellen!" She introduced herself before answering the question. "Hmm, I think several people went out to explore the town."

((No worries.))
