Oscar merely followed his faction blindly, smiling widely the closer they approached the area. Psh, as the team the main character was in, his team would definitely win. Besides, this was the perfect opportunity to win a better weapon in the game! While he definitely would've enjoyed the comfort of someone he knew, he didn't really mind it-- After all, his team was chosen, too. Or they were self aware NPC's. Whichever.
After a long moment of silence, from the crowd trying to navigate through the zone, Oscar couldn't shake the feeling that something was watching them. The hairs on his neck stood the moment he heard a gunshot behind him, a small yelp sliding out of him. Sure, he talked big s**t, but it wasn't like he could actually back it up. Things were starting to get a little tenser the moment the crowds split, and Oscar swallowed hard, sliding a hand to his side, grabbing his umbrella-- When the battle suddenly broke out. He lashed out and fought hard, kicking and throwing big swings at the other groups. Looking around nervously as he was only equipped with a damn umbrella, Oscar scrambled to loot someone, any one-- Before a sudden hard whack to his arm made a loud crack! Oscar winced before looking down, eyes going wide as he failed to register what he saw. What the ********?! "What the <********> The grey eyed man quickly stumbled backwards, watching the battle slow down, inhaling and exhaling heavily. He swallowed.
Was... His arm... supposed to bend that way?!?!
The pain felt almost too real, he realized, before clenching his jaw hard, blinking back the tears that rose from the pain. Nothing so life-threatening had ever happened to him before in his game-life(or even his real life, for that matter), and frankly, he'd very much preferred having something OTHER than being injured happen to him. When the wail happened, Oscar could feel his breath catching in his throat, tightening his grip on his arm. He squeezed his eyes closed and looked away from the ******** arm Breathing harshly, the man looked at his arm and snarled, trying not to think about how much it hurt before staying deathly silent when the fire suddenly came. Thankful for the ceasefire, the man stumbled to the side, deciding that now might've been the right time to take a breather. This game was getting a little too real...

Maria felt the rush as the first explosion began, and she moved to the side and dove down hard. Her ears rang, but she was still able to see as the thick smoke bellowed up above. She moved to stand, ignoring the ringing and the wavering of her vision as she moved forward and away from the zone of attack. As her ears began to work again, she heard the sound of gunfire.
Not paint balls, but actual guns.
As she ran, she saw the person in front of her fall to the ground. No one was there to help, so she scrambled over and slammed to her knees, ignoring her vision dotting black as she pushed her hands down onto the wound, hard.
She pushed back the tears, pushed back the headache and pushed back everything to focus on the person before her. Her efforts were in vain as the person began to struggle before going still, and Maria forced herself to stand up and keep moving. She would mourn later, most likely as she washed the blood off of her hands.
When everything began to slow down, and the leaders went into the camp, she began to feel very dizzy. Sitting down, Maria began to notice the signs of a concussion. She felt sick, and had to move swiftly away to throw up. She must have hit her head harder than she thought when she dove to the ground.
Everything began to blur together, but eventually she heard the instructions of her leader, and moved to stand slowly. She'd help out, but maybe after her head stopped spinning.
Going to grab some water, she moved away from the crowd and toward her faction. It was time to get to work.

The zone was a mess of chaos and smoke and dust, and Micah regretted having come out at all. He'd thought he could be useful, but the bandits had guns and grenades, and against actual weaponry an umbrella and fists were pretty weak. He'd have been pissed at himself for staying back, though. He pushed onward.
Something slammed into the back of his head, and the lights went out.
When he picked himself up off the ground, he had no idea how long he'd lain there. There were no more sounds of fighting, and he heard very little. He tried to open his eyes, and discovered that his eyes were already open.
Why couldn't he see?
He reached up to touch his face, feeling gingerly at his eyelids, and couldn't feel anything wrong. He didn't seem to be injured, but when he opened his eyes again, there was still nothing. Darkness. Just darkness. He was blind. s**t. He was blind.
Maybe it was temporary. It had to be temporary, he thought with an edge of panic. He'd just ... assume it would go away after a while. He could use his umbrella as a cane, and listen. Right? He swallowed hard and tried to breathe normally and listened for voices.
