OOC

gaia_crown [ OBJECTIVE 2: ]

- Scavenge the office building for supplies
OOC: You will need to scavenge the local office building (STAPLES) for supplies. Any information you discover within the building can be used for later.

[ Step 1 ] Each player must roll 4d10 in their post. Match your dice to the rolls below. RP it out in ANY order.

1. Your character finds a stapler. It doesn't seem very useful. It is still attached to an arm, that has long begun it's final stages of decay. Attached to the bracelet of the arm is a name. "R O R...." the rest is missing.

2. Your character finds boxes and boxes of receipts. It doesn't look very informative.

3. Your character turns the corner and finds one of the undying! They must remain quiet for a bit to avoid being caught. If your character wishes to fight it instead for some reason, the undying has 50 HP and does -5 auto damage.

4. Your character finds a stray cat. It doesn't seem very friendly.

5. Your character notices a strange room. It seems to be locked.

6. Your character notices a foul smell coming from the copier room. You notice that the copier has stopped running, but there are pages and pages of images that surround it. Each one depicts someone being brutally stabbed. It is difficult to look at.

7. Your character notices some booze! Unfortunately it is empty

8. Your character manages to find some loose change. Not very handy.

9. Your character comes across a disgusting sight - a half-eaten body. The smell is repulsive and causes you to involuntarily gag. The half-eaten face's eyeballs are still looking at you, darting back and forth, moving.

10. You come across several rats all clustered together. You don't want to know why.

[ Step 2 ] After your character is done scavenging, simply report your findings to one of the bandits. Your work here is done.

Stealthily gaining access to the radio control tower had gone shittily, but hopefully scavenging for supplies at STAPLES would go better. At the very least it didn't seem to be nearly as swamped with the undying as the tower had been.

Okay, she could do this. Deep breaths and then she was moving through the entrance, keeping a good pace but still trying to keep her steps light. She wasn't sure if the undead could be attracted by noises but hell, she wasn't risking it.

Learning from her earlier blunder, she tried to keep an eye out for surprises - a bit hard when one's eyesight had a tendency to go blurry at intervals. After the first time that'd happened, she'd learned to find the nearest 'safe' spot and wait it out; trying to make her way forward with shitty eyesight had only caused her to collide noisily with a desk, spooking the hell out of her but thankfully not attracting any undying.

She'd been doing a lot of counting lately; her newest best remedy for all things concussion-related. Nausea? Deep breaths and start counting. Blurry vision? Deep breaths and start counting. Vertigo? Deep breaths and-- you get the idea.

Still, so far this had gone better than her previous venture. She'd managed to cover two floors so far, both of which were picked clean. Well, she hadn't covered them completely; some areas had had undying milling around and she was not keen on getting into another fight in her condition, so she'd chosen to avoid those and backtrack.

Now she was moving upwards, and things seemed to be less picked clean. Still nothing useful so far, though - she had come across the nastiest thing she'd ever seen, a half-eaten corpse with its eyeballs still moving. Christ. She'd gagged, unable to keep the nausea down and ended up vomiting on the floor before getting the hell out of there. That sight would haunt her, she was pretty sure.

It'd also nearly been the death of her, for the next corner she turned, one of the undead were moving in her direction. s**t! Had it heard her vomiting? Sylvi stood stock-still, trying her hardest not to move or breathe too loud. Maybe it'd pass her, maybe it wouldn't se-

it didn't. The undying passed her by, continuing on to where she'd just come from. She'd have drawn a breath of relief but her hands were shaking and her vision was blurry again - this time she kept moving though, as quietly and carefully as possible, not about to test her luck if the thing came back.

She kept moving for a while afterwards, wanting to put some distance between herself and the undying. It'd spooked her good and she didn't stop to check for supplies before deeming herself far enough away. Then it was back to work, checking drawers and supply closets and whatever else there was.

Which is how she came upon the locked door. It was... somehow strange, though she couldn't quite put her finger on it. A quick glance down both ways of the hallways to make sure she was in the clear, and then she tried yanking at the doorknob to see if the door would come open.

It didn't. She tried fruitlessly for a while before giving up, calling it a lost cause.

Continuing upwards, she scoured the building as best as she could. At one point she started seeing more and more undying lumbering about though, and made the tactical decision to retreat. She'd done her best but she wasn't about to risk too much for what had so far been a wholly fruitless search.

She passed the locked door on the way down again, and another yank yielded, again, absolutely no results. Too bad, that'd actually seemed like a promising lead. Sylvi sighed, shook her head and carefully made her way out of the office building to go report her findings.

"I found a dead person who wasn't dead, managed to avoid the undying and that's about it." She shrugged, tired and worn. "Wait - actually, there was a locked door I couldn't get into. Tried yanking on it a few times, but it didn't really work. That's all, sorry."

The bandit nodded, didn't bother to write down her findings (whether or not that was because he could remember them or they were worthless, she didn't know) and then dismissed her. She couldn't really complain - a break before the next task seemed like a good idea.
