I battled and I PASSEDMalodore quickly unfurled a net. In the (literally) inky blackness of depth, it couldn't really make out the strands of the net, but it could feel them. Once the tangles were smoothed out, it carefully tried to figure out where the eel was. It would try and attack them again, no doubt... There was a faint whisper of ink-water. The fish whirled, and there was the eel, charging at them out of the darkness. Malodore quickly directed the fish to one side, and the eel shot past them and vanished into the black. The fish turned, sensing that the eel would come back once more - but this time the plague doctor was ready. It threw the net out and it flared in the current, its filaments invisible against the dark ink-water. The eel hit the net head-on, its own speed carrying it deep, entangling it thoroughly. It thrashed, but Malodore had anchored the net to the fish's harness. The eel was helpless to fight against their ascent, and after a few minutes the fish surfaced with the eel sulkily balled up in the net alongside it. They had succeeded! And then, very suddenly, Malodore was standing in the classroom again, alongside the painting. It peered at the landscape in fascination for a moment, trying to spot its friends and its beast. This had been very interesting indeed, if completely unexpected. The ink Gibralter tipped his head, giving out a snarl that Moure could tell was masking excitement and pleasure. The boogeymon was enjoying this.
Moure'd definitely picked the right companion to paint when he'd chosen to make a warhorse-sized, wolfish Gibralter.
The boogeymon braced himself as he saw the beast charge them again, and then launched himself at the creature, claws flashing and fangs bared. They collided, and the boogeymon forced the other creature down. It had cost the boogeymon some attack power to do so, but now their enemy seemed a little more cautious about charging them. The inky Gibralter's lips pulled back, a snarl eminating from his mouth in what seemed to be a taunt at the other creature. Come at him, bro.My HP: 25/40 Damage done: 7 Opponent's HP: 68 Number of nets left: 3/3 Link all posts made here: Attack OneAttack Two Attack Three

The ink Gibralter dug his claw-covered paws into the earth, reach to charge again. The creature tried an attack and then skittered back slightly, as if wary that the boogeymon might just snap down on it's throat right there and then. As it backed away, the boogeymon charged it, his long pointed horn stabbing at it while he slashed down with his claws.
Moure just held tight to the harness and made sure none of the nets got loose. This Gibs didn't need any advice on fighting.
The wild creature skittered away before the boogeymon could really get his claws in though, and as such only took part of the minipet's attack. My HP: 20/40 Damage done: 8 Opponent's HP: 60 Number of nets left: 3/3 Link all posts made here: Attack One Attack Two Attack Three Attack Four

Danny landed softly in the ink grass, right on top of the line to her animal's harness. The second her eyes landed on her firepony, her arms were wrapped around the (rather thick) neck of the pony, and she made noises that I can't even describe because she was so happy to be reunited with her firepony. They were going to go prancing in the meadows and running under trees and frolicking in the-
Why were there nets tied to her pony? Were they going lava fishing? Danny loved lava fishing.
The squeals and noises stopped as soon as the teacher spoke, calling the class to attention. At first Danny was really excited. Battlefield? Battling beasts? That sounded option. Soon the teacher started talking about using wits and needing a brain to really win though, and Danny knew she was jacked.
Well maybe she could just win this battle through pure teenage adrenaline and strength. That was usually what she did, and it'd worked thus far for her. The teacher released them, and suddenly there were beasts everywhere of all shapes and sizes.
Danny gaped, and in the few moment she stood surprised, most of the students had already found a target. She cursed herself lightly, but headed towards the edge of the field where she found a three-eyed two-headed monster. That looked neat! Not as neat as her firepony, of course, but it would suffice.
She wasn't really sure what she was supposed to do though. Did she hit the ink beast herself? She thought about throwing one of the nets there and now, but the wild beast in front of her was moving around that it seemed nearly impossible.
Finally, she just gave up and shouted, "GO FIREPONY USE YOUR SUPER FIRE POWERS." The firepony seemed to accept the command and shot a beam of pure flamethrower goodness at the ink monster. Danny gave a happy little yelp and said, "Ooooh! Do it again!" but the firepony just shook its head. Looks like it was a one time only use.

Danny frowned, but it quickly turned into a smile as she said, "That's okay pony! We'll get 'em together!" The pony brayed and whinnied, clearly delighted to be a part of their two person team. Well as long as they knew they were working together ....
The oddly shaped, wild, and ink-based beast didnt seem to appreciate their teamwork as much. It gave an odd cross between a boarish squeal and an apish grunt, and barreled towards Danny and her companion, knocking them both down on the way.
Danny gave it a good kick in the stomach, but it didn't seem remarkably affected. Maybe she was supposed to use her pony only? That would make sense after all. Use the thing she'd worked so hard on the past couple of days.
"Alright pony, let's take Mr. Ugly down!" Come to think of it, after this she would have to give the firepony a name. Maybe Rikki2. No wait. Rikki1. The other one could be Rikki2.
OTPOTP.

Turns out Mr. Ugly didn't want to go down. Danny quickly ran to her left, while her firepony darted to its right, and they separated just in time for the wild beast to come running through the two of them, right down the center. He was a charger, that was for sure.
Whatever the teacher had said about needing wits was definitely true- there was no way to take this monster head on. Danny and the firepony continued dodging left and right in the strange sort of dance they were performing with the beast, until inspiration struck.
"Firepony! Run into Mr. Ugly!" she shouted, pointing at Mr. Ugly himself. The firepony was a little confused. Run into that hulking mass of death? No thank you. Danny let out a frustrated sigh and said, "Trust me okay?"
The firepony stared at her for a moment, and then at the last second started to charge at the beast in the same way it was charging her. Look how beautiful their bond was. That's just jacking precious.
Either way, Danny waited until the very last moment, the moment when they were about collide, and then ran in with a fierce kick, like something from a popular children's show out of a comic book. Alright for teamwork!

"Alright it's your turn! Hit 'em with ... I dunno whatever you ponies do!" Danny shouted as the beast went tumbling down. For the moment it was slightly disabled- it was their opening!
Danny's eyes flicked back to the firepony, and she realized it was struggling to actually get OVER to the wild beast. Oh s**t. Had she chosen a slow firepony? No, its ink was just caught under a rock. Oh no!
Her head turned back and forth between the the firepony and the wild beast. She could easily go and free the pony ... but at the expense of losing her shot at the wild beast. s**t. Which did she pick?
Danny groaned and realized her only choice. She ran towards the firepony, her one true love and started pulling at the rock. Just as she pulled the pony's leg out from under the rock, the wild beast broke out of his stupor and stared at them both. Uh oh ...
The beast charge for them, and Danny was knocked skyward. The pony had just narrowly been out of the frame of damage, and got a good fireball in the beast's direction, but things were still looking bad for them. They'd have to turn it around!

Danny gestured for her pony to do it again from where she was on the dirt, and the pony followed suit. She gave a little whoop. They were-
Aw s**t. The beast had a rock, and it had her name on it. Oh scratch that, there wasn't just one rock, there were multiple rocks. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
She was dodging rocks left and right. One hit her cheek, but luckily it was just a pebble. Another hit her poor pony, and Danny let out a loud cry, even louder than when SHE was hit. Her pony. Her love. HER OTP.
"PONY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO." Danny got up and socked the beast, not even thinking about it. Oh gosh please let her pony be okay.

After a very dramatic moment, her firepony stirred from the ground and gave a loose whinny. Danny's face lifted into a smile and a sigh of relief. Her firebeast was okay. She hadn't lost the love of her life. She was okay.
There wasn't much time to celebrate though, because three very angry eyes were now focused on Danny after her loud cheer. "Aw C'MON," she said, running left. There just wasn't anything to work with in this open field!
Luckily, she wasn't alone in this fight. The pony looked at her, just waiting for a comment. Danny flailed a little and said, "Auuhuhuhhhhhh HEADBUTT IT." The pony promptly followed and did so, its thick skull crashing into the beast's backside, making it take a step closer.
"Pony no!" Danny shouted, as the beast drew nearer. The pony's attack had only made it come closer! Shiiiiiiiiiit.

Thius wolfish Gibralter enjoyed attacking things. Well, at least he enjoyed attacking things that he was supposed to attack. Attacking things he wasn't supposed to attack probably would've gotten him in some trouble with his Master. Moure had no problem with the boogeymon attacking this enemy creature though, so the inky Gibralter happily went in for another snarling slash attack.
The boogeymon brought down his claws toward the wild creature as it rushed him, jaws parting to reveal wickedly sharp teeth in a what could only have been a wolfish grin. The creature couldn't bail out of it's attack in time, and as it collided with the boogeymon, the minipet slashed at it with his claws. "HEADBUTTITAGAINOHGOSHPLEASEGO," Danny wailed with the beast just steps from her. The firepony took the command promptly, somehow able to understand that gibberish that came from her mouth.
It rushed forward and headbutted the beast's back one more time, and the thing stuttered forward. At first Danny thought it was just going to stand there, but then one knee fell, and finally a second one went down. It knelt there for a moment, and then flopped down onto the ground.
Danny gave a cheer, and her firepony waddled over to where she was standing, softly nuzzling Danny's arms into pets. They thought the thing was dead, but it slightly stirred and began to stand up.
"Oh s**t let's do the net thing!"

I battled and I PASSEDThe firepony quickly (well, actually rather slowly, but quick for a waddle!) maneuvered itself in front of Danny until the nets were accessible. She started rummaging through the bag, struggling to pull the nets out because of the excitement of the moment.
A grunt from the beast startled her into yanking a net out, tangling it from the beginning. She maneuvered around the flaming equestrian, holding the net out awkward. She felt sort of strange holding something like this, but the three-eyed pigman needed to go down.
The beast stirred and actually began to get up, and Danny panicked. She tossed the net over the mass of the beast, and it tangled up in the beast's ink horns and tail. The more it struggled to free itself, the more entrapped it became. It was like a fly wandering into a spider's web, only the web had been thrust upon it.
"Hahaha firepony look we did it!" Danny said victoriously.
Her pony gave a whinny in response, and nuzzled her arms into a hug. Danny squeezed the pony happily back. They were the best team ever and she loved her pony so much and they were going to be together forever and ever and-
When she opened her eyes she found that she was no longer hugging her firepony, but the air in the classroom. The scroll world was gone, and the ink substance was gone. Her normal tan skin had returned, as had her bright orange hair.
That wasn't important though. "P-Pony?" Danny said, spinning around. It had to be some sort of horrible dream ...
Right?
Danny frowned and said, "It's okay. He's still in the scroll. I'll just go back later." It was more like she was trying to convince herself that that would happen. Somewhere, she knew it was probably her last meeting with firepony, but she would move on.
HER HEART WOULD GO ON~~~~

The overly huge and wolfish Gibralter was turning out to be quite the fighter. At least, he was a much better brawler than Moure was, and again the patchwork was thankful that he wasn't the one actually fighting this battle.
The inky boogeymon dug it's claws into the ground, and then rushed at the other beastie in a flurry of scales and fur. Upon reaching the other creature, this Gibs lowered his head and brought up his claws. However, the creature dodged away before anything other than the inky Gibs' horn could smash into it.My HP: 10/40 Damage done: 7 Opponent's HP: 43 Number of nets left: 3/3 Link all posts made here: Attack One Attack Two Attack Three Attack Four Attack FiveAttack Six

"You doing okay?" Moure asked his steed, patting the boogeymon gently. The inky Gibralter gave an happy, if only partially tired, woof and looked back to the enemy he was having so much fun fighting. Moure shook his head slightly, but gave hm the go ahead. "Okay, but this is the last attack, okay? Then we need to catch the thing."
This inky Gibralter gave him a look that could only be interpreted as extreme dismay over the idea that playtime was almost over. The false Gibs didn't want playtime to almost be over! He was having so much fun fighting. The boogeymon wouldn't whined about not getting to keep playing, but after a look down to his ruffled up few and scratched scales, he could see where the undead was coming from.
Ahwell, that just meant he had to make this last attack count for the rest of playtime.
The boogeymon gave a shake, and then charged at the beast, bringing his claws down toward it with a happy snarl. The beastie managed to pull away before getting totally hit though, so the fake Gibs could only do part of the damage.
The boogeymon might've been pouting due to this turn of events. My HP: 5/40 Damage done: 6 Opponent's HP: 37 Number of nets left: 3/3 Link all posts made here: Attack One Attack Two Attack Three Attack Four Attack Five Attack Six Attack Seven
