Now that was odd, a pokemon just keeling over like that after a non-damage move like Disable. Gage's brow furrowed and he glanced around for any sign of foul play from a nearby pokemon. Maybe it had been that bug that had hovered near. Either way, it wasn't him who cheated, so Gage had a problem with it. "Um, kid, what's wrong with your Gurdurr? They shouldn't be just passing out like that. He'd taken very little damage from Yamask." Gage wasn't entirely heartless, just ruthless. He returned Yamask to its pokeball, and watched the exchange between Argos and his trainer. Gage tsk-tsked them. "Judging by how many scars your Croconaw has, I'd say he's no stranger to being a loser. No pokemon gets that many from wining. What's your deal anyway? You gonna let that pokemon push you around for being nice to someone?" Gage picked up the two stones as his prize, doubling his profits and getting the Thunder Stone he was going need to get another Raichu. He just hoped his next one was half as useful as his old Rai-rai. Gage ended up sighing, but he just amounted it up to how disappointed he was in this rookie trainer. Not like he missed his original pokemon or anything. SPHEAL LV.12 / RALTS LV.4 / YAMASK LV.11 / SANDILE LV.9 / #ooo21 // ProfileLOCATION // Blyse City.

Post 215 "By the way you spoke to your Sandile, I'm not surprised he hates you." Chael retorted. The feeling of disappointment was mutual, as it seemed. He was no stranger on how to treat Pokemon, and all this guy seemed to see them as would be tools. And neither he nor Argos took kindly to having the water type being called a loser. "He's certainly stronger than the ones you've been training." he stated, tension in the air. Chael would have returned his starter and left but Gage had insulted Argos. "Maybe if you showed them kindness your Sandile wouldn't have been defeated." Argos would clench his claws while his trainer kept a serious tone he usually had. The man hadn't even seen Argos fight. "What in the world does this have to do with my Sandile, kid? I just caught it like an hour ago, and you haven't seen what one of my trained pokemon look like." Oh great, Gage found a trainer with a freakin' bleeding heart here, and his disdain shone clearly through. He had been talking about Croconaw, about Chael's problems - not open the floor to how pokemon should be treated. "I just wanted to know what was wrong with your Gurdurr and why your gator is giving you so much lip for losing against someone who's obviously far more talented. I can't help it if my pokemon are inexperienced, but if they can't follow simple orders and learn to trust my better judgement, they're worthless." "I'd say your Croconaw is pretty useless too if he don't realize who's boss." Now Chael had done it. Gage must have gotten a spec in his eye after the subject had been turned right around on him, but before he really got royally peeved, he readjusted his method of attack. He scoffed and made a quick dismissive gesture with his hand. "You know what? You ain't worth it. Thanks for the Thunder 'Rock' though, kid, but if you don't wanna hear solid advice, I'm not gonna waste my breath. If kindness is all you show your Croconaw, then obviously that isn't working so well, yeah?" SPHEAL LV.12 / RALTS LV.4 / YAMASK LV.11 / SANDILE LV.9 / #ooo22 // ProfileLOCATION // Blyse City.

Post 216 "Hardly. You're saying he's a loser and you haven't even seen fight." Chael would say as the Croconaw lunged at Gage. In a blank tone Chael commanded "No Argos. He's not worth it." The Pokemon spun, a foot from his face, stopping his course to land in front of Gage. He barred his teeth, all frozen. Argos made it clear he was not above attacking a trainer. But he walked back to Chael. "Now what was that about getting pushed around?" Chael would ask as he turned, took the note, and walked away. "My name is Chael Riverton and next time we meet it'll be a six on six. That way we'll really see who's the better trainer." Then he was out of ear shot and then he was gone. He visited another Pokemart in the city before leaving. Well, what did Gage think of that? He knew better than to flinch when a pokemon charged at him. In fact, he seemed ready for fight back. Gage's expression went blank behind his round lensed sunglasses. They hid what he was really feeling, but most important of all, Gage let the kid get away without more than his warning. He knew he'd get his revenge on Chael Riverton. The kid would never know what hit him. The first thing that Gage did was heal his pokemon up at the Pokecenter. He had a lot of work to do, and got no information that he seriously needed - only that what he wanted wasn't around here. But at least he got one thing he wanted - a Thunder Stone. Time for more training. He started out, heading back towards the Ruins, and then let the great Eevee hunt continue. Returning from the ruins, Gage was feeling a lot more pleased with his new pokemon Yamask. Hell, he might even keep the ghost as one of his permanent team members, just because it had brought him a Masterball. That's right, a Masterball. He now had a 100% chance of catching anything it hit. They were extremely rare and difficult to create, so only the best of the best are given one of the amazing capture capsules, and now Gage was lucky enough to say he owned one of his own. Sure wasn't a fossil, but with how great a Masterball was, it might as well have been. Walking with a swagger to his step, Gage walked back towards the T-bone crossing to get back onto Route 1, and Yamask was given the honor of floating behind his trainer. Hilariously, it was Gage himself who attracted the next Ralts, and he was in such a great mood that it didn't bother him when he missed his throw. Recovering the pokeball, he went back to searching for the all elusive Eevee that everyone seemed to be catching except him. He loved being a collector. Normally a Pidove wouldn't be such a great thing to find, but Gage didn't care. It was time to really start to train his pokemon so he could go farther into the Region and capture what he really wanted. He tossed the pokeball for Sandile, and ordered, "Sandy, build up some Rage. Let me see if you're actually worth something. Get angry. Get mean." Sandile gave that low threatening gator rumble, teeth bared. "Show that damned bird who's boss. If you can't beat its sorry butt, you can just watch it eat your meal tonight." That made the croc flinch and his stomach growl with even the thought. Surely Sandile felt the pressure now, sweat beading on his brown head, and his black eyes focused dead on the bird. When he dashed towards the Pidove, it was a vicious brawl. Every time Sandile was hit, his rage build, and until finally it was finished with a devastating bite. Gage laughed when he strolled over and picked up the dead Pidove, its scrawny common little neck broken. "Looks like we've got lunch at least. Thanks 'Dile, man." Building a fire, Gage soon had the bird roasting over sizzling hot coals, and kept an eye out for predators or sneaky birds who otherwise would steal his meal. Sandile was drooling as the scent of meat filled the area, and even Gage was salivating at the thought of roasted Pidove - the two of them looking much more similar than before. Gage spotted the Rattata first. It sure wasn't Fear, but remembering the saucy little rodent, he was feeling even less than hospitable when the wild rat came sniffing around. Pulling a knife from his boot, Gage flicked it at the Rattata, pinning down its tail. The pokemon gave a squeal, but Gage just laughed and looked over at Sandile. "See, gotta get the tail and the thing can't get away. Well, you hungry?" Yamask faded into view by the Rattata, tears in both their eyes. When Gage wasn't looking, the ghost loosened the knife, grabbing onto the hilt and freeing the Rattata. The little purple rat ran right for the cover of bushes after it had escaped, swearing never to go near humans again. Back on Route 1 it felt comfortable like a glove. That is, if the glove was boring, bland, safe, and nonthreatening. Gage felt like there needed to be some sequins and shine up in this place pretty soon. The young man was still yawning. It was also about time for a break again, as he had promised himself when he reached familiar territory. Houndour was on high alert, as if this new place was any danger at all. Puh-lease, his Houndour could tear up anything in his path. Heading into Blyse, Gage visited the Mart and switched up his line up again, hoping to gather in some newbies who were willing to trade their starters and prized pokemon away for something pretty. Tossing all six pokemon to show them off as he walked past the fountain in the center of a town, Gage would trade any of them. If just the right deal came by. Well, no one was denying that Gage was on a roll. With five brand new pokeballs empty and waiting for pokemon to fill them, Gage headed out towards the ocean to see what could be seen when he saw some kids running excitedly that way. Could you imagine what went through his head when he saw a small group keeping their distance from a lavender Lapras? The thing was huge compared to the tiny little starters the punks had harassing the big water beauty. Gage scoffed. The Lapras had beached itself on accident. Dumb thing, but it was pretty, and that was good enough for him. Giving it a swift beating from Croagunk and Rufflet and Gage was the envy of the snot-nosed brats when he tossed a pokeball, catching it. One of the kids actually even tried tossing his pokeball before Gage had his chance. Croagunk batted it away, making the frog the favorite one now. There was going to be a problem with so many pokemon Gage caught taking the lead favorite today and really shining. Gage was grinning ear from ear, and after catching the Lapras he decided it was time for some good ol' R&R. He never caught his Eevee but today's haul was massive. Yet honestly, who could say they were as lucky as this lout? Gage could say no one was. Wanting to show off the fruits of his labor, he switched out his team again and went to go relax at the center of the city, hanging out by the fountain with his grumpy Lapras wading in the shallow water. Gage got a few offers for his three shiny pokemon, but they were all laughable trades. An Abra for Swablu? Buziel for Rufflet? The best offer was the Joltik for Litwick, and Gage almost took it until he saw the sorry state the Joltik was in. The poor thing looked half squished. Gage said no, hoping to get the Joltik for free by belittling the trainer for sitting on his electric bug, but no good. And it seemed no one wanted to trade their starters away. They were getting attached. Gage rolled his eyes behind his sunglasses whenever he watched some rookie trainer freak or get all indecisive when he asked for their Charmander or their Squirtle in a trade. Sentimental kids. After a few hours of this and as the crowd dispersed slowly, no one man enough to trade, Gage recalled his pokemon and headed out of Blyse. Time for another hunt. From Gabron Ruins((3 PKMN. I'll roll for shiny and ability if I catch something)) Post 277 Son of a.... it was that Sentret again. And a Pidgey. And a... Ralts? Well, he decided what and threw a Pokeball at the psychic as he motioned to Tsuki. "Let's see what you can really do! Quick Attack!" Chael ordered. Tsuki would run around, a dark trail barely catching up as he rammed into Romeo and the devil bird. Well that settled that. With that he walked back to the Pokeball to see if he caught the Ralts. "Leave me alone!" Nolan kept running, the Yamask kept chasing him, clear out of the Ruins, all the way through Route 2, across to Route 1, and Nolan didn't stop to catch his breath until he saw Blyse ahead. Looking backwards, still Valor was keeping up easily, but right behind the Gleam Eyes lion was the dreaded Yamask. Maybe if he just got to the city then he could scare the Yamask off or something. Weren't ghosts afraid of lots of people? Spotting his friend ahead, Nolan was sure Chael would be his salvation. "Chael, he- ..." Nolan suddenly stopped running, realizing there was no reason for him at all to be fleeing from a ghost. "Valor, use your Bite attack!" The Luxray turned right around, fangs bared and he chomped into the ghost, grabbed on, and shook his head back and forth. It must have been a flinch, because the Yamask didn't even attack back, and nearly faded away for good. Saddened, the shiny Yamask stopped chasing them, floating on the breeze, and it looked at the Masterball in its hand, sighing deeply. So much for being a pokemon trainer again. Post 278 Chael almost choked at the events. What the heck was wrong with Nolan. Then he saw it. Oh. My. God. "You're running from a shiny Yamask that's trying to give you a Master Ball?" Chael asked as two Pidgies and Romeo the Sentret attacked again. Tsuki and Argos made quick work of them, making the trio flee once again. "Don't look at me like that!" Nolan said, exasperated and plumb tired after the long run. "It threw that ball at my face. It ... it really hurt, okay?" Valor yowled, laughing a little. Who's side was Valor on anyway? Nolan rubbed the bruise on his head for emphasis, wincing, but he did pause to think a moment.
