Renkon Root Here's a question: Does anyone ever actually read these little intros? I flip through them on occasion, especially when I get curious about someone and have a fair idea where they are on the page-count. Anyway, my own bit. Name preference: Kaos or Lianne, I'm goot with either. Age range: 25+, I stopped counting there razz Religion/belief system: take a starting point of christian heresy, throw in a bit of chaos-based occult philosophy (Liber Null et al) and sprinkle in a dash of discordianism. And somehow the end result pegs as Theravada Buddhism (according to beliefnet's quiz anyway...) Sex/Gender: anatomically male women of transsexual history, if you're going to ask it like that. Anything else: I usually prefer concise more than the above would indicate. And I rarely feel things as intensely as my words might indicate.

Anything else you want to add: I consider myself agnostic with atheist leanings for the most part, but I am influenced very much by Taoism. I don't believe there's a way to prove or disprove God, but if we were to find out one exists, I'm sure it'd be very much like the Tao of Taoism rather than a more personified deity. For the most part though I choose philosophy over religion when it comes to any sort of stretch of faith that cannot be explained by science.

Anything else you want to add: I was flattered at receiving an invite due to my topics on the Lifestyles forum enquiring about religion as I thought nobody cared, so I suppose I can learn an awful lot here... I was once a Catholic, but gave up due to too much doubt. I do think there's something there however, I just need to really ask myself what, but I can't bring myself to go too deep into the issue of faith because in my community I never get anywhere. Hopefully on the internet there's a wider range of people willing to offer me opinions. I will, however, continue to irritate people on the Lifestyles forums. I need to get my kicks somehow now don't I? 4laugh

I know, I'm old. I usually hang around Gaia as free advertising space in my sig (and to shamelessly play dressup with my avatar) but I was intrigued when I got invited to this guild.
I was never part of a religion, I only started getting interested in studying it when I became an adult. Living in the United States I of course began to become aware of the retarded culture wars and strange religious movements we have. I wanted to see where these people were coming from, and what I found just annoys me.
