Rosa smiled mischievously at Abel, the kind of smile that would not soon go away. I'm not telling anyone my master plan, Rosa thought smugly. She waited for Abel to finish her conversation with Professor Ani, staring outside. The view was beautiful: probably the best on campus. It looked out onto the forest and, if you were outside, you could look upon the North Dorms. It was quite a sight, especially if you were lucky enough to have a morning class.

Once Abel was ready to go, Rosa grabbed her hand and smiled broadly, exposing her teeth. "Come on then!" Professor Ani seemed happy to be alone, shooing the two out of his classroom. Rosa led Abel out through a back entrance, explaining that it was the quickest way outside. Once they were out in the sunshine, Rosa put her index finger to her lips and her hand on her hip. Now where should I start...? She decided to lead Abel clockwise around the campus. She took her to the foyer in the North Dorm and showed her where the students' PO boxes were; she took her into the Outfitter's and explained what an Apothecary was and why armor and weapons were needed on such a peaceful campus; she didn't take Abel inside the Observatory--it was locked. She took her to the Soare and explained the difference between it and the Lunare. "You can switch to a room in here if you want, ya know. You just gotta do it before Monday!" Rosa continued the tour of the campus with the Cathedral next. The inside of the sacred place always made her feel small--no pun intended. After spending a good amount of time in silence, Rosa dragged Abel to the Library, one of the more boring places on campus. Next was the Trading Post: Rosa explained how it was more of a pawn shop than an actual store. The tour ended at the Forum.

"So! What did you think!? Of my five cent tour?" Rosa exclaimed, a little winded.

((Sorry it took so long. My computer was having some strange issues. Looks like I fixed it though! I decided to Center my text also, it jsut looks nicer.))

Kent watched Loki and Evelyn as they conversed about their likes and dislikes and even a few things about home came up. The thought of home made Kent smile because, unlike most people here, Kent had come here with no bad blood and he had done it for his family. He did it to protect them, because he loved them. Then Evelyn asked about what they wanted from this place, what their goals were. Kent was polite as always and waited for Loki to speak first. He was taught to always let ladies go first when in conversation, also to speak last allowed you to gauge people responses before you spoke and that made reading people easier by a long shot. Loki had come here to learn to control what was inside her, like Kent, but he was sure it was under different circumstances and Evelyn liked horses, which was funny because Kent had just left a farm where he lived with just that. It actually made the boy chuckle lightly, but it was interrupted when Loki spotted some birds in the sky it seemed. Kent would look up as he stopped walking and watched the birds. His response would come as he slowed his pace and stopped moving. Just in time to watch Loki go digging for something that Kent assumed was for the birds in the sky.

"Well, why am I here? My goals? I did something I'm not proud of, but he had is coming...After I found out what I was, well I came here so I could learn to control myself. I came here to protect my family from me. I could never hurt them. My goal when I leave here is to have learned everything I need to know and be able to make this part of me a useful part of my life. I also want to be able to get back as soon as I can so I can help my dad and mom run the farm. Pop's is getting old and I don't know if he should be running the farm by himself. Sorry I laughed a bit when you talked about horses, Evelyn. I was just reminded of my own. But what are your goals?"

Kent asked the question in return as a way of inviting Evelyn to respond with her own goals and values. This was a way to see the type of person she was. A response to questions like these showed a lot about a person and their character. Loki seemed to have her head in the right place, but her response had left Kent thinking she might be a bit insecure about what she was.

They saw me as a monster...

Meanwhile, thousands of miles away from the happy goings-on in Blackthorn, in Germany, dark forces were stirring.

Down a foggy alleyway a lone boy ran. His breath blew in clouds that faded after each step. His footsteps echoed off the walls, which were illuminated by the pale full moon. Shouts could be heard farther in the alley and the sounds of boots joined that of the boys bare feet. "He went this way!" one of the men shouted in German. The boy heard this and tried desperately to run faster. As he turned into another alley a cat jumped from the darkness and he tripped. He fell painfully to the ground and lay there, his chest heaving, for a long moment as the pounding of boots passed the alley behind him. After a long moment of silence he pushed himself up with his skinny arms and sat against the wall. He closed his eyes and tried to steady his breathing. Suddenly a lout click resonated through the allay. The boys eye's flew open and he looked up. Next to him, a tall shadowed figure stood. There was another click and a lighter illuminated the mans face. He had striking blue eyes and a scar on his left cheek. He wore a black trench coat, almost invisible in this light, and an officers cap with a metal pin depicting a howling wolfs head. A single blue gem looked like a tear drop falling from the corner of its eye. The man puffed once, then twice on a cigarette before it finally glowed orange. The potent smell of tobacco smoke filled the air. "You made it very far mein friend. Farther than most." he said with a light German accent. "But you vere not good enough." He took a deep drag on the cigarette, his face illuminating once again. The boy had heard of this man, and backed away, in fear, only to back into the legs of another uniformed man, holding a short rifle. "I am terribly sorry mein friend. But you vill be coming vith us now." the shadowed man said. The boy began to protest, even scream, but the guard silenced him with an uppercut with the butt of his rifle. The boy fell, whimpering to the ground. Another guard walked up, a note in his hands. "Commandant" he said, saluting, his back straight, boots clicking. "We have captured several others in this city and throughout Germany. At the moment, our total count is seventy four." Gustav read the list as he puffed on the cigarette, then nodded. "Make zat seventy-five." he said, gesturing to the boy, who was now just sobbing silently. With that, he turned and walked down the alley, vanishing into the shadows.

...now I am one.

Abel Chou

Abel happily followed Rosa out the door and watch her try and think. She followed the parading Rosa, only having to listen carefully as she explained all of the buildings. She was excited about the Observatory, Library, and the Trading Post... She wondered how you earned money and such. She watched as Abel took her to the Forum and asked if she enjoyed her small tour... Abel took out five cents from her pocket and tossed it to her, smiling. "It w-was great, Rosa... Thanks...", she said in her soft voice. She looked about a little before sighing softly, her short black hair shifting a bit. "I must be off now. Got to get a little used to all this.", she mumbled and kicked the ground a little.

Abel looked back to Rosa and smiled crookedly, hair falling in front of one of her eyes slightly. "I trust we are friends now?...", she asked hoping the small girl would say yes. She was excited for a positive response. Abel bit her bottom lip and waited silently.

In Russia you don't play RP...

Boris sat in his classroom, going back and forth between his desk and several shelves, organizing it for Monday. He stacked books, wiped desks and straightened chairs. Finally, as the orange glow of sunset came through one of the high windows, he sat down at his desk, and pulled open the newspaper. He scanned the articles, then turned back to the headlines. It spoke of disappearances throughout Germany. Thats odd... Boris thought. He shook it open and scanned more of the article. It didn't say much, and only one person who was noted to have been missing caught Boris's eye. It was friend of his from Germany. A lycan, like himself, his friend had helped him when he lived in Munich for a few years. He sighed, folded the paper back up and put it on a stack by his desk. He stood up, took flask from his pocket and took a sip. He made it a point to not drink in front of the students or during the week, so he was enjoying it while he could...not that the alcohol had any affects on him. He looked around one last time, making sure every thing was in order, and walked out the door, locking it behind him. He walked down the hall, tugging his cap onto his head, and stepped out into the brisk evening air. He walked across the familiar grounds, making a bee line for the food court. He could already smell the food roasting within.

...RP plays you!

[[ZOMG I am so sorry it's been so long D: After 3 days of no internet, scrabbling to buy books and get to my new classes (2 3-hour long labs this semester?! and three 830's?! fml.) Im back : D I've read up, and I do believe it's time for Headmaster's Address. I'm going to time skip my characters through to Sunday night, (since it's now Saturday) and Headmaster's Address will be then. After that, registration for classes will begin, and so will dorm and roommate pickings~ So choose >: D . I'm working on the timeline with RedZeroFive (who is a great help btw) and will be posting the WIP as I go on the OOC thread. If there's something you want to add to help me flesh it out, a little knowledge of history and some creativity is all you need. The definitive timeline should be finished in a week or so. Hurray : D. Thanks so much for joining to everyone, and for keeping such a complex RP alive. ;-; *So happy* Anyways, enough sap! See you in OOC soon!]]

Mark scratched the back of his head. "Well, there's a history course available, taught by a Russian with imposing facial hair. There's Introduction to Lycan Lit. It's a great class. Our professor's a little...odd, but a wonderful interpreter. There's some Art and Musics, though I'm not in any of those. Geology with Feldspar. Astronomy with Caswell. A heavy Science course, don't know the professor. Oh, and your required courses". Mark couldn't help but suppress a grin. None of the older students at Blackthorn told the newbies what to expect, and he wasn't about to break that tradition.

His first Shapeshifting and Trial hadn't been a positive experience, but it did make him stronger. He scoffed. Made me stronger. Wow. A am a sap.

"You'll get a taste of the classes at Headmaster's Address. He's bound to make another one seeing as how many of you just arrived". After the bustle of Headmaster's Address was Monday, the newbies first Shapeshifting and Trial would be that night. Mark usually kept to himself during the Addresses, leaving as soon as he could. He was curious about these two though. The boy seemed bright, and yet calm. Other males generally put him off, but this boy seemed different, like he had a sense of honor. And the girl. She'd probably be a wimp in her Lycan form. he thought to himself. His strength surprised him as a Lycan, but his real forte was his sight. The world was so clear when he was a wolf. Just looking at the trees move was breathtaking.

The dark-haired youth snapped out of his daydream. "You'll both have to choose which dorm you want to be in too. You might might want to poke around in both to get a feel for which you want. Anything else you want to know?" he asked the two of them.

Tika was successful in finding the rest of his art pens and mostly successful at organizing his desk. The only problem was that he had too many papers and not enough space to keep them all in. “I’ll have to make another set of drawers.” He sighed. At least the desk was usable now. He took up a broom and began to sweep the wooden floors. The floor was blanketed with dry clay dust and more wood shavings, aside from paint splatters from messy students, an abandoned paintbrush here and a pencil there. He picked them up as he swept. He got himself into a rhythm and soon began to hum a tune he heard on his travels, and before long, he was singing.

“The fox went out on a chilly night
He prayed for the moon to give him light
For he'd many a mile to go that night
Before he reached the town-o, town-o, town-o
He'd many a mile to go that night, before he reached the town-o”

While he was sweeping he began to tap his feet,

“He ran 'til he came to the farmer's pen
The ducks and the geese were kept therein
He said, a couple of you are gonna grease my chin
Before I leave this town-o, town-o, town-o
Said a couple of you are gonna grease my chin, before I leave this town-o”

He began to dance with the broom,

“He grabbed the great goose by the neck
And he threw a duck across his back
And he didn't mind the quack, quack
And the legs all dangling down-o, down-o, down-o
He didn't mind the quack, quack and the legs all dangling down-o

The old grey woman jumped out of bed
Out of the window she popped her head
Crying John, John, the great goose is gone
And the fox is on the town-o, town-o, town-o
John, John, the great goose is gone and the fox is on the town-o”

The floor dustless as he swept the large pile out to the balcony,

“He ran 'til he came to his nice warm den
And there were the little ones, eight, nine, ten
Sayin Daddy, Daddy, better go back again
For it must be a might fine town-o, town-o, town-o
Daddy, Daddy, go back again for it must be mighty fine town-o

The fox and his wife, without any strife
Cut up the goose with a fork and a knife
They never had such a supper in their life
And the little ones chewed on the bones-o, bones-o, bones-o
They never had such a supper in their life
And the little ones chewed on the boooooooones”

He finished the song as he swept the mess over the edge of the balcony, not thinking anyone could be underneath.

(if you really want to hear this song, Its by Nickel Creek, The Fox. ^^ Is a cute song.)

Cristian looked towards the sunset as Mark named off classes and teachers, just in time to see its bottom edge begin its decent behind some distant mountains. Cristian turned back and looked at Mark and Asp. Mark finished naming off classes and Cristian wondered to himself which he'd be wanting to take. Mark mentioned the headmasters address, then that they would have to pick their dorms. This is a question Cristian really mulled over. Hmm... He looked at Mark, "Which would you suggest?" he asked, wanting an outside opinion. He looked around, watching students bustle around campus. He even spotted a few teachers. He saw a large man with a beard, which matched Marks Description of the history teacher. He looked to be heading towards the cafeteria. "When is dinner usually?" he looked back at Mark. He asked not out of hunger, but wanting to meet more students. Hopefully many of them were as nice as these two.

Jason edged back as the shy girl stood up to him. That's what she was doing: standing up to him, literally. His brows raised in shock at this small girl. He was more in shock of his first impression of her being so contradicting to how she was acting right now. He heard what she was saying, but it didn't make sense to him. "I annoyed her?" he asked, before she finished what she was saying. He took another step back, pointing in the direction of the girl who hit him, Kata. He looked over at her--she had her eyes on the floor, standing partly behind the male. Something's off about him... He looked back at the girl in front of him. All he could do was shake his head and laughed at himself.

"All right," he looked up at the sky, then back down Kata. "Sorry. For whatever I did to annoy you." He looked at the red-head. "Sorry about earlier. You're pretty pissed I see." He looked at the boy. "And sorry if I did anything to you too." He was sincere, but only because he hated confrontation, especially with women. He wasn't sorry about what he did, only sorry because it was causing problems. He hated being accused of anything. He dropped his head, smiling to himself, his hand on the back of his neck. Gael would get a kick out of this. Getting confronted by the new students already. He started to walk away, passing by the brunette and whispering to her, "Don't worry about it, Kata." She seemed wary of his approach at first, but then looked up at him through downcast eyes at the mention of her name. He smiled at her, but she looked down again.

Jason held his breath while next to her, even for those few seconds. He didn't want to risk feeling whatever it was he felt just a few hours before, just because of her scent. He didn't wait for her to respond, for any of them to respond to that whispered statement. He took the longest strides he could manage, to put as much distance between himself and that group, between himself and that Kata.

Whats my problem?...

Loki fished the bread from her knapsack as she listened to Kent and Evelyn exchange questions and answers. The earlier question about her future had thrown her away from wanting to answer anymore, but she tried her best not to let her insecurity show. Especially in front of Kent. Turning her attention to the doves, she waited for the right moment and when they came close enough, Loki tossed crumpled bits of bread into the air. Thor and Freya were frightened at first and flittered away, but they did not go far as they soon realized that what had startled them was edible. Thor dove first and landed on the ground to peck at the bits of bread, Freya landing beside him a moment later. When they were almost done, Loki tossed a few more bits towards them and a smile played across her face. She squatted and watched the beautiful winged creatures peck at the pieces, shaking the ones that were to big into smaller bites. The sun was setting behind them, casting a golden hue on everything in sight, making the birds look as if they were born from lava. Loki crumpled the rest of her bread and scattered it across the grass and stood. She looked at Evelyn, then at Kent, and her gaze lingered on him. In the sunlight, his skin looked more gold than anything else she had seen. He looked like the reincarnation of the Greek god Apollo of the sun. Her heart fluttered and Loki sucked in a breath, as if to breath in the moment and never let it go. I think I am going to like this school.
...Its a long story.

Don't you bring your sadness
down on me.

____________________________________________

Rosa gladly snatched the nickel out of the air. She crossed her legs, bent down, and stretched her arms out to the sides, giving a rather ostentatious bow. She couldn't hold the pose for long though--her laughter got the best of her. But she stopped her giggling as soon as Abel mentioned wanting to go off on her own. A little sad to see her go, but aware that it would be unfair to make her stay with her, Rosa nodded in assent. "I'll see you around then!" she said, waving her hand. She watched Abel turn away from her and set the shoulder strap of her bag up higher on her small shoulder. Rosa perked up once she addressed her again. "Friends? I'd hope so! I don't give my tour to just anybody ya know." She smiled once more, revealing her small, white teeth.

At that, she turned away herself and began heading north, towards the mailboxes. She was expecting a letter from her family soon. She had been expecting one since the second week she had been here. Because one hadn't yet come, she'd continued to write at least every three days. She had a letter prepared in her bag, in case one had not reached her box yet. She felt she was running out of things to write home about, but each letter was at least a full page in length, in her small, tight handwriting.

Once inside the foyer of the North Dorms, she made a beeline for her mailbox: fourth row from the left, third from the bottom. It was a small, brass door, with a simple lock mechanism broken with a turn of a numbered knob. 04-56-31 was her combination, she knew it by heart now. She'd push the latch to the side and opened up her mailbox, expecting to see at least one white envelope. There was no letter. Only a flyer, a stupid flyer about something going on in the Forum tomorrow. She crumpled up the flyer in her hands and let it fall to the floor. Feeling the tears forming under her closed eyelids, she quickly reached into her bag, pulling out the letter, and shoved the thing in her box. She almost slammed the tiny door as she turned away.
