Summer Outreach Post #10 Gryffindor
Dear First Year,
'Ello. Welcome to the Haven. The Haven is a marvelous place for Harry Potter lovers which I think everyone here is. All the discussions or games have something to do with HP, except for the common rooms, which are for chattering with your friends. It is always enjoyable to hang out with people you know at least have a common interest as you.
My personal favorite part of the Haven are the discussions and theories that go on. They range from 'Can Muggles use Magical Objects' to 'Ramblings on the Various Houses' to 'If you could Change one thing in the HP series, What would it be?' There are also games, contests, a writing subforum, and a RPing subforum. So there is something for everyone! I hope you find something you love and get into it too!

Hello and welcome to all our Haven first years!
Firstly, I am the new Hufflepuff Prefect, so if you're a new Hufflepuff or you see me around, feel free to PM me with a question about the Haven and I will try to help you to the best of my ability! If you're just joining us I would love to let you know about how great our guild is and what is has to offer. We are constantly having new events and contests. There is almost always a fanfiction competition going on, so if you have a fanfiction written or even find a great one while searching, you can enter it to win AMAZING PRIZES! Also, during any events we have there are always chances to win prizes and not to mention points for your house so it never hurts to enter.
Other ways you can earn points are for interesting or helpful posts in any topics that are created, whether they be about discussions or even a game thread! Talking about game threads, that is something we are definitely not short of here at the Haven! We have countless numbers of interesting and fun games that help you easily get your post count up and your fun level up! razz

Dear First Year,
We Haven’ers tend to be nice people, so don’t be shy! whee The best way to meet people at The Haven is by posting in the Great Hall and in your common room. Those are threads where you can talk about things are and aren’t Harry potter related. cool It’s also a good place to get advice for any Gaian or real-life problems that you may be experiencing.
The Harry Potter discussions that I like best are psychological ones about specific characters, or theories on the representations of - and relations between - the Houses. If you have an interesting question or theory about any character or object in the Potterverse, then don’t hesitate to post it because you might earn House points! biggrin Please, remember not to use chatspeak/text-talk because that can lose House points. *gasp* dramallama
Anyway, The Haven is all about socialising and having fun, so I repeat that there's no need to be shy! We’re glad to have you here. razz

Turayza, Yes, all 4 steps 1. Choose a summer banner. Have it in the post or in your signature or both 2. Number the post (look at the post behind you. If it is numbered 13, than yours is #14). 3. Name your house 4. Post in the Great Hall (this thread) at least 2 paragraphs. Your first post should contain something welcoming, encouraging, or inspiring to a first year.  Each numbered post is one chance towards the Raffle Prize: Your choice of 1) A Gwee! 2) a pink/orange sea urchin for their aquarium (currently can be seen happily urchining in LHH's tank bottom right) 3. I've done a bit of the Snakey Recruitment Summer Contest myself. I got tons of points for Gryffindor. It's quite fun recruiting all my friends to join. My friend just joined. She's waiting to get sorted. 3nodding I hope she's in the same house! I can't wait untill she gets the news!!!

Thanks, Turayza for liking the Hogwarts staff on Holiday picture. I thought it was pretty Kawaii! Unfortunately, I don't know WHERE it's from, it was in a file of graphics tucked away in an HP file on my HD, and apparently the formatting with origin didn't take. sad
Angelic Miko-Chan, we've got a great Sorting Hat, and there are cool people in all of the houses! So no matter where you are sorted to it will be cool! Looking forward to seeing and hearing more from you! Welcome to a really great guild!
I just took Accio Funds over to the Secret Beach. She's got the Gwee and it was the cutest thing! The Gwee's little wings flap furiously from the front or back as Accio walks around! The Gwee as you know is one of the choices for the winner of the summer Events raffle can choose, so I hope to see a bunch more of you posting entries here in the Great Hall. It's free, (unless you want to design your own Summer Banner, then its 100g). See the Read Me first thread for details. I do hope everyone's having some fun this summer!
