Ichi smiled at Keno, not caring about his carefree attitude right now. She went open to the fridge and opened it, grabbing the OJ and milk. She turned to Keno and handed him the milk.
"I really don't know how to cook, Keno-kun."

"That's okay. Watch me." He smiled as he waved his left arm in small circles, sending all the unnecessary dishes back to their respective locations neatly. He then began mixing the batter for the pancakes, hoping he remembered the recipe from scratch. Eggs, flour, sugar, milk, salt.....when he was done he had a batter, but wasn't sure it was pancake batter. He really hadn't made them in a while. He preheated the oven and placed a skillet over it as he raided the pantry for some premade pancake mix. "Ah!" He found a box, barely used, and poured enough contents for the two of them. He then added the milk and mixed them together into a delicious, smooth batter. "Wanna lick the spoon?" He handed it to her as he grabbed went to grab a spatula, a knife, and some butter, which he lightly layered the bottom of the skillet with before placing back in the fridge. "Come and watch."

Ichi took the spoon in her hand and licked off the batter. She went to Keno's side to watch him cook. She's watched a lot of other people make pancakes, it looked pretty easy. She stuck the tip of the spoon in her mouth and sucked on it as she watched.

"The trick is to watch the edges of the pancake," he said as he poured the first onto the skillet. After assuming it's round form it slowly began to look as though it were simmering in the center, small bubbles rising and gently bursting as the better sank back into itself. But this was just a form of entertainment to Keno as he gazed at the edges. "When they become dry, you flip them, he explains as he lets Ichi get a look at the outer ring before flipping it over, revealing a golden top while the bottom cooked.
"After you flip it, don't flip it again, you have to let the rest cook from the bottom up, so it's important not to flip it too early. Now you have to base it mostly on insitnct. It should stay on the other side about as long as it did the first time. If you want to be sure though you can cut a slit in the center." He uses the corner of the spatula to pierce right down the center of the pancake. "If you look in and see bread, it's done. If you see dough, it's not."

Ichi nodded as he watched, still sucking on the tip of the spoon. She felt like a child watching her older brother, but Keno wasn't like an older brother to her anymore. She moved closer to him and watched the pancakes neing cooked.

Keno finished three pancakes, which he made for Ichi, each nearly perfect, though not as good as the women from his village..oh yeah Ichi would have to meet them. He then passed the spatula to her as he poured more batter into the skillet. "Your turn. Just remember what I said and you'll do fine." He took the spoon from her and licked the excess batter from her lips before sucking on it himself.
