Taiju smirked to himself as Yokou completely avoided his entire point. "Would it kill you to be social for once? I know you're enjoying all the new students, but it's kind of insulting to be treated like a sack of s**t all the time. Of course, I’m sure you find it insulting that I would have the audacity to talk to you at all."
The woman always caused so much anger in Taiju. She acted like she was so much better than everyone. It infuriated him to no end. If it wasn't for the fact that he had to respect her as a fellow shinobi, he would have broken her in half. Still the Hyuuga's would probably take offense to that. Man life was far more complicated when he couldn't just beat people into submission.

{Enter from Library} Tenma allowed herself a few seconds to catch her breath before steeling herself for a “conversation” with her proctor. So far he hadn’t been highly personable; then again he may be bipolar. Such a condition seemed like a welcome blessing at the time as she entered the clearing. Rhiam, as usual, was taking his time and that seemed to work for him so Tenma wasn’t going to judge him on it. Walking over to him briefly, looking up at him as she spoke, Tenma knew she had to talk quickly. “When you have time come talk to me: Tairu and I have an idea.” With that she slipped off in the direction of the Senju, praying for the best if the spirits were willing to listen. Once more the child found herself steeling her mind before approaching the man. Her nervousness was unreasonable, but she was going along with it for now. However, there was one big question she had yet to answer: annoy information out of him, cute it out, or attempt to be sneaky. She would have to make a decision soon because time was up. “Pardon me, Master Senju, may I speak with you for a moment? I would greatly appreciate it.” Gather Information: +1 Genin Exams

Taiju turned his attention back to the girl who was supposed to be taking the exams. What on earth could she possibly want?
"Well then what do you need? Please tell me you're not going to bug me about anything pointless. But let me take a shot in the dark about what this is about. You want me to help you complete the Genin exams."
He had to admit, the girl had guts coming back here and demanding information from him. Maybe he would help her. Maybe. Of course he might just lead her in the completely wrong direction for laughs. Of course if he could convince her that she should kill her friends... That would be the greatest joke of all.

Tenma was pleasantly surprised at the Senju’s almost contented mannerisms, the bipolar aspect the student had been asking for. Then again, he could go back to his good old roaring self in a matter of second she was sure. With a cautious mind Tenma searched for the correct questions, knowing that she could easily be beat to a pulp with this sort of action. Then again, that would never be an option on actual missions since it would be one’s duty to get in there and do everything in their power to push forward towards success. Attempting to keep a calm atmosphere within the conversation Tenma gave him an appreciative smile. Maybe she could start with the general wonder of an academy student and then focus more specifically on the location of the statue. “I was actually wondering where you got the idea of this alternate exam. Typically we students would have to fight in order to prove our skills, but this is truly unique and I was curious as to where you found inspiration for it.” Gather Information: +1 Sense Motive: +0 Genin Exams

Kaede tilted her head in confusion when Senju-sama suddenly decided to sit down. Was his legs tired from standing up? She knew the feeling herself, as she spent most of her days sitting down at a desk to read all day. But then she realized something... now it would be her the one looking down on him. On him, a noble! Nononono.... she had to rectify this. It wasn't her place to do such a disrespectful thing. Kaede immediately imitated Senju-sama, and sat down on her knees, her hands in her lap.
The girl was miffed when Senju-sama echoed Senju-san's words and insisted on being addressed by first name. Did all Senju clansmen dislike their surname? Did they all dislike each other? But they were family, weren't they...?
"Z-ze..."
"..."
She couldn't do it. She just couldn't do it. Just like she couldn't call Senju-san by his first name. It was too weird. It was like pretending to be his equal, and that would be extremely arrogant of her to even think that. Yet she couldn't call him Senju-sama - if he reacted half as offended as Senju-san when he referred to him by his surname - and she couldn't call him sempai since he was clearly much more superior than a mere sempai. But she couldn't just NOT address him or call him "you" either, since it was the biggest form of disrespect she could possibly do and... oh, this was so frustrating.

"Zeph-ph..." This was seriously harder to get out than a case of constipation. Kaede buried her head in her hands. Maybe this would be easier if she wasn't looking at him.
"Z-zephyr-s-sama...
And now her mouth felt extremely dirty, as though she had chewed and swallowed bitter medicine. Her lips burned as if she was ki- that boy... her first... the village... Kaede wiped her mouth furiously with her sleeve.
"Y-you shouldn't f-feel that way about your f-family..."
And what did he mean by cheating Heaven's Will? T-tai... Senju-san's word echoed in her mind:
"You shouldn't look down on where you've come from. At least you weren't born in a lab."
Oh, well if they thought they didn't belong with their clan members... they shouldn't feel that way. It was really sad and lonely not to be acknowledge by family, Kaede would know. And was it really a sin to want to have a child? But wasn't it natural to want to love and nurture one of your own...?
But from the smile on Z-z... Senju-sama's face, it seemed he was doing alright without such a thing. Whatever it was that allowed such a smile to be possible... he needed to go do or see it more. And he needed...
He needed to go get his eyes checked because there was nothing about her that remotely resembled a princess. They don't wear dirty kimonos and they weren't ugly and they don't keep broken sandals and they don't stutter and... Ze-z... -sama was probably going senile. Her father was always complaining about how his eyes weren't as good as they used to be or brag about how he was once able to bench press his own weight. But the man seemed to be offended when she implied that he was old - 'and what did he mean he was only five years older than Hyuuga-san's distant cousin and he wasn't using a henge!?' - so maybe...
Maybe it was her ears that needed a check, maybe she heard it wrong. Or maybe the labs messed with his brain because Kaede wasn't... there was no way... Yeah, she must have heard wrong. It was frustrating how every theory she came up with was immediately shot down. Clearly her deductive reasoning needed improvement or her views on "normal" and "logical conclusions" needed redefining. Perhaps T-t...-san or Z-zeph... -sama could help her with that.
The girl was happy when it seemed her offer of sake managed to pull Ze-zeph... Senju-sama out of his depression, as he appeared to be rather excited? and yet...
"...?"
Why was he so surprised? Sake wasn't something so expensive that her father couldn't afford to buy it every now and then. Even if they were poor, her father didn't need to buy clothing or luxuries like that. No, alcohol was his only luxury. Alcohol and cigarettes. Or perhaps he didn't know how to drink it and was trying to cover it up out of pride...
"W-well... y-you serve sake in a t-tok-kuri, and put the tokkuri i-in a hot bowl of water to w-warm it up. But not t-too much that you can sm-smell the alcohol r-rising."
The girl reiterated her father's words perfectly by heart, hearing this lecture time after time. Though it wasn't exactly for her to hear, but rather to his very young drinking partners, about Miharo-sensei or Tai...-san's age.
"O-orange j-juice makes a really g-good screwdriver... and in c-case you didn't know what a screwdr-driver is..."
After each lecture, her father would immediately round on the girl and order her to forget what he had said. Then, he'd go back to his sake and start making demeaning jokes about himself with his drinking partners. 'He never referred to them as his friends.' But how does someone forget something they hear over and over?
"... a-and you shouldn't gulp it s-since its really p-potent. Sip it, l-like a woman."

Keep in mind that failing a sense motive might make you think I’m lying when I’m not, or just make you unsure. RP as you will. If you want to make a second check to gather more info, you simply roll 2d20s. I would recommend that you roll them BEFORE you post and simply edit the post.]
Taiju looked down at Tenma with an arched eyebrow. The girl wanted to waste time talking about how he thought up the exam? No, she obviously had a motive here. Oh well, he would play along and have some fun with her.
"Well I figured it'd be a better test of a students’ abilities. You're going to have to think on your feet, consider all the options, figure out who your friends and enemies are, and make a choice between yourself and your friends. Only one of you can win, which means you have to figure out if it's worth waiting for another year just so someone you love can finish."
Taiju paused for a moment and looked at here with a bit of pity. She really didn't know what she was getting herself into. But, since the Nara was still in the field and obviously confident in his abilities, that left the Hyuuga as the only one actually outperforming the exam.
"Let me guess... The Hyuuga put you up to this? He probably wanted you to come to me so he could finish first. When I said that anything goes, I meant that. I have a feeling he might stab you in the back, and he's already started."

Gather Info, Sense Motive A slight smile appeared on Tenma’s features as she listened to Taiju theorize about Tairu stabbing her in the back. Apparently he hadn’t given her enough credit to be thinking that far ahead in the game; then again she was easy to underestimate. First her appearance was of pure astonishment, as if she was enthralled with his ideas about the exam but then concern took over as she listened to his ideas. “Well, I can say that I agree with your idea of everyone having to think on their feet and such, however, I also think your idea of love might be advanced for children. I know I do not hold such emotion for anyone here and I doubt the two males feel that way towards each other.” Another cute little smile as she made a joke. “But then I must ask, why do you believe that I am unaware of Tairu’s intentions? It is obvious that he is working so that I do the entire work gathering the information and then he reaps the rewards. Truly, that would be ideal in this exam because it proves he can get what he needs. However, that also brings up the idea that, since I know that, I must be plotting something as well – do you not think so? "You and I both know that if you already had the information you needed, you would be off gathering the statue instead of pandering to me. So let me ask you this; why are you trying to gather information from me? Do you really think I would just tell you what you want to know?"
Tenma was definitely cunning, that much was certain. Taiju wondered if he'd rather take her under his wing instead of Kaede. After all this one was bold, and seemed to have much more in common with Taiju. Of course it might be a trap, and students always thought themselves craftier than they actually were.
"Perhaps it would be best then, to mislead the Nara over there, or maybe even the Hyuuga? If you killed or incapacitated them, perhaps you would have a better chance of success?"

Gather Info, Sense Motive Tenma nodded her head contemplatively, though this was the first time she had done so in front of the Senju. He made perfect sense to her but she also knew that she needed them at the time being, so if that were to be an option it would have to come later. “Did I ever ask you to just tell me anything? No, that would take all of the sport out of the mission and it would not truly be a challenge as it should be.” A slight shrug of her shoulders kept her speech and body calm, loose as not to reveal anything. With a slight pause she thought for a moment. “Maybe I happen to be misleading them right now. They believe I’m gathering information from you, but in reality I have not learned a single thing other than you believe this to be a more effective, and amusing, form of examination. Then I could simply walk over to them and give off random information off the top of my head that honestly had nothing to do with the mission. So, with having this sort of advantage I do not believe killing them would be the most effective method right now. Don’t you think?” Gather Information: +1 Sense Motive: +0 Genin Exams

"Such formality, you speak more like a princess than even Yuuko." Green-golden orbs glittered with mild amusement. "Well, but if it is of serious disturbance, sempai is fine." He paused. Well, he wasn't really...unless if it was a roundabout way of looking at the shinobi system structure.
But his eyes widened in surprise, when she found the courage to say her words. Ahh. Strange child. She did not realize she could be quite bold if she wished. But he held his tongue on that comment, it was good that she was becoming more confident in speaking her mind, if only a little.
"Nah, I don't hate my family." He replied cheerfully. "Shall we just leave it at 'I don't agree with some of the things they do'? But, I suppose it can't be helped." A soft pause. "There'll always be people you can't get along. My adoptive parents were kind enough, and, well, there were a few clansmen whom I was close to."
But she seemed happy enough with the discussion on sake, as strange as it was. An elegant eyebrow arched, as he looked at her skeptically. "The only time there really should be drinking, is in ceremonial cheer." Said Zephyr. "People drink, because...there is something they wish to forget, if even for only a little bit." There was a soft pause.
"Sake tastes good in ceremonies, in weddings, and in celebrations. You sip, to let the taste linger, so just a little is enough...but when someone is feeling sad, the sake doesn't taste as good...it tastes sour to the spirit, but they would want more and more, drowning in sake hoping it would taste better, to become good." He looked at her evenly. "But of course, that is not possible. Drinking does not drink troubles away."
"I think chiisai-hime is more of a 'tea' person. Unlike sake, understanding can always be shared with a cup of tea. Sake is for war, a cup of tea shared only in peace. Tea seems cheaper, bu tea doesn't run away from troubles, tea calms the mind instead of drugging it...defeating and overcoming obstacles, rather than settling for the moment's illusions."
And he laughed.
"I hope, chiisai-hime will never have to settle for sake. But if you must, hopefully only if the sake taken does not taste bitter." Here he stopped, a soft pause, before continuing. "Ah...have you learned the Henge? With the Henge, we transform into something we are not, but so easily that false image is broken, with a single punch of enough force, or, even with the hands of time (no chakra sustaining). Taiju grinned and shook his head slightly. This girl is dangerous. Far more dangerous than the other two...
"Well you have to keep in mind that not everyone can be played off that easily Tenma. Seriously though, they could be playing you right now. While you're here wasting time with me, they could be off completing the exam. One should never be too cocky when dealing with other ninjas you know."
Taiju would have to ask if he could have Tenma in his squad when this was over, should she pass the exam. She was far too smart and far to bold to be left to someone as flirtatious as Yarotai...
"So tell me what exactly you want from me if you already have information, but you still need your comrades?"

Rhiam has yet to leave the Meadows, much less gather information. I steered Tairu in the wrong direction at the library, so it should take him some time if he takes my word at face value. After all I couldn’t let my “comrades”, as you call them, find the interesting piece of literature I stumbled upon. No, I hid that quite well I do believe.” There was still that smile on her face that made her seem childish, innocent. “Then talking to you makes my story more believe me and assists in bypassing suspicion when something does go array.” {{Yay! Taiju just shook his head and smiled. "So you've found a book about something that may or may not have to do with what you're looking for. I hope you're aware of the fact that there are multiple statues with the description I gave, so you'll have to find out which one is the right one. Also, I would have you remember that just because you've told me this, doesn't mean that I can't just tell Rhaim or Tairu you know. What you're doing is a double edged sword. I have half a mind to walk up to Rhaim over there and tell him how to do everything required just to spite you."
