Not far from the village, bordering the great forest, is a spacious stretch of open meadows. The air around here is especially crisp and clean, with lush vegetation and blooming wildlife all year round. Every year, particularly in spring and early summer, the meadows would be filled with beautiful flowers of every colour and type. Farther away from the open meadows are the public training fields for the village's Genin, Chuunin and Jounin to use. Training area 22 is bordering the area reserved for the Memorial Stone.

A little off from Training Area 22 is a large, circular stone platform that stands alone in the center of a great clearing - adjacent to the same training grounds the Rokudaime Hokage and his teammates once had their Genin Exam. A single carved stone stands on top of it. Often, loved ones of the deceased brings offerings of incense and flowers. Here, the heroes of Konoha are made into legends. Here, the Will of Fire forever burns on.

Never forget:

Rank: Jounin

Hatake Raijin was no hero.

Akki Cerbi
Age: 16

Rank: Hokage

Let the Flames of her will live on.

"Hm..." Anzu seemed pretty happy breathing the fresh, crisp air of the meadows on their way to the Jounin training fields...but that was to be expected as he was a member of the 'Senjus of the Forest'. It was a beautiful Spring day and the sun was out but not flaring. Soft flowers of all kinds decorated much of the meadows and on one side, there were Sakura trees and other flowering plants.

However, they were using the Jounin training area next to the open meadows, or more specifically, a good distance away, which was stripped into nothing but dirt ground...as the higher-ups decided destructive techniques might be used and they would not risk injury to the little kids that liked to play in the open meadows. "So..." He turned to his three Students expectantly. "What would you guys like to start on first? Target practice or shall we start on Taijutsu?"

As Conan entered the field and noticed that there were different flowers everywhere. Conan ran over to one type and stayed there for three seconds before saying “ ohh look at those ones!” and ran over to another patch of flowers. Conan repeated this four times. Before clueing into what Anzu said. Before Conan answered his question he said “ Anzu-sensei this place is so cool it smells so nice and…. It’s…its… just cool” Conan finished as he laughed and said “ I don’t care what we do as long as… well I guess I don’t care at all” Conan said again as he laid down in the grass and rolled around having the time of his life.

Akari walked into the meadows that glistened with sharp blades of grass that poked up from the grounds. The air was brisk and filled her lungs with joy. The flowers blanketed the grass with an array of rainbow colors that sparkled in her blue eyes. The sky had only a few white clouds and the sun brightened up the day. The Sakura trees were blossoming and the wind blew through her hair.

The sensei, Anzu broke through the silence that filled her ears with a question. The meadows were beautiful and it matched her happy feeling. "I would like to start on Taijutsu please. If not it doesn't really mater to me." Akari said and walked up to the teacher while he waited for the other students to arrive.

Kasai stumbled into the meadow. It was beautiful, with many varieties of flowers and plants and such, not anything like what you would find in the deserts of Suna. He stopped for a moment to take in all the fresh smells. Then he heard the teacher going to the barren land far from the meadow. He shoulders dropped, but he realized he would be messing up the beautiful sights while training in the meadow.

Kasai followed the others to the training area, and said, “I’d rather start with target practice.” He was somewhat pacifist, not liking fighting unless it entirely necessary.

The Senju instructor simply smiled at Conan’s perkiness. He inhaled deeply, breathing in the crisp, clean air. Anzu truly adored Konoha at this time of the year, Spring, when it smelled of new life. "Yeah... Lovely jewel, isn’t she...? Our dear village..." His voice trailed off. "So we got one vote for Taijutsu and the other for Target practice." A tie. Anzu turned his head in Conan’s direction. "Tough luck, then. Choose something, Conan-kun." He commanded with a sort of final air. His arms were crossed and his fingers lightly tapped with impatience while waiting for an answer.

Conan was still rolling around as the others arrived and said what it was that they wanted to do. It was a tie and Conan was the deciding voice. Siting up Conan thought for a bit. He wanted everyone to be happy but that clearly wasn’t going to be possible. So Conan did the next best thing. He made himself happy as well. So he said “ you know I think that it would be fun if we did some Taijutsu. After all that is what your hear to teach us isn’t it? You are the Taijutsu teacher. So I think that would be best wouldn’t you Anzu-sensei?” Conan figured that he could make Anzu happy as well so that just ment that Kasai wasn’t happy. In Conans mind ¾ wasn’t bad.

Kasai sighed and sat down on the ground. He guessed he’d just have to stop running away and start fighting his own battles sometime. He figured that he was somewhat paranoid, probably the same reason why he moved from Suna to Konaha. He glanced at Conan and realized that their conversation never really finished. He got up and walked over to him, saying, “Oh sorry, I didn’t realize that we didn’t finish talking. So… hi?”

Conan smiled as Kasai came over and apologised about not finishing a conversation. “ oh don’t worry about it Kasai-kun if it helps I had forgotten what it was we were even talking about and I’m sorry that I asked to do Taijutsu training. I herd you say you wanted target practice but I made the choice because then more people would be happy then if I picked target practice.” At this point Conan laid back down on the ground and looked up at the sky and the clouds it held. It made Conan think a bit. About how small he was in the world and how he could make a difference in it. Conan was almost completely at peace by this point and thought if there was a way to make it up to Kasai so he said. “ I know how about later we go and do some target practice we could invite Akari-chan too and maybe the others to. If they show up.

Kasai shrugged his shoulders. “It’s no problem. I think I just didn’t want to show everyone how wimpy I was.” Kasai let out a weak laugh. He looked up at the sky, thinking again about how he was unable to help his parents at all when the freak accident occurred. Maybe he should’ve listened to his parents when they told him to play outside more instead of staying inside to read books. “Yeah, I’m more like the type of guy who would rather study than run around.”

Conan laughed as Kasai made fun of himself for not thinking that he was strong. “ Oh don’t worry that’s what were hear for, to get stronger. Along with other things.” Conan said as he put his hands behind his back and closed his eyes. He was wondering when they were going to get started. Conan was still tired he wanted to sleep right now but then the image of his mother with a fire hose came into his head and Conan opened his eyes back up to stare at the sky some more. As Conan stretched and yawned at the same time he said “ and I agree with you almost entirely. I mean I always get kicked out of the house but then I usually go to the library and study. I need to study a lot if I’m going to become a medical ninja after all.”
PostPosted: Sun Apr 27, 2008 3:53 pm

Kasai’s eyes widened. “Wow, you’re gonna be a medic ninja? That’s pretty cool! I bet you’re pretty smart then, aren’t you?” He then pondered what he should be when he finished his training. A guy like him wouldn’t last too long in the battlefield, yet blood still made him a bit squeamish. Maybe he would be some entrepreneur after all…

Conan laughed as Kasai asked if he Conan was smart. “ Well I suppose I am. I haven’t really put much thought into something like that. Then again I might not be. But ill say this I am smart In certain things and a complete idiot in other things. So I guess it’s all about how you look at things. What about you Kasai-kun? What are you smart in?” Conan felt it was an all right question. Everybody had something that they were good in and for Conan it currently just happened to be treating injury’s. Conan then herd in his head that oh so annoying voice why are you just lying down on the ground? Get up and gets ready to train come on! Conan kind of just rolled over and thought back I’m talking right now will you just shut up!
PostPosted: Sun Apr 27, 2008 5:11 pm

Kasai’s eyes widened. No one ever asked him a question like that. This guy is pretty smart, thought Kasai. “Well… I don’t really know. I’m a nice guy, and I study a lot, but it doesn’t really make me smart does it? I always figured that smart people were like those who could be outgoing around people and like that. That’s why I’m probably not that smart…” Kasai smiled, but his head dropped.

"Eh...since we have an odd number here... New transfer boy-kun can start on Target practice. Conan, you pair up with new transfer girl-chan for the Taijutsu lesson." If Nyame was here, Anzu would've gotten yelled at for not bothering with learning the new Students' names. A sweatdrop formed and Anzu made an attempt to glance down at the class rooster. "Er...Kasai-kun..." The Senju instructor began digging in a cloth bag he had brought with him and pulled out a shuriken/kunai set. "See those wooden dummies at the other end of this training area? You goal is to gain a total of 31 points. 5 points for hitting where the dummy's heart would be, 3 for hitting its head, 2 its stomach, and 1 if you just manage to hit the dummy."

Shuriken
Each student will be given a basic set of 5 shurikens and 3 kunai knives and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. They're expected to receive 31 points.
0 - 5 = Miss
6 - 10 = Just hit (1 point)
11 - 15 = Stomach (2 points)
16 - 19 = Head (3 points)
20+ = Heart (5 points)
Formula: 1d20 + Attack Ranged

((Attach this to all posts))

Target Practice
Formula: 1d20 + Attack Ranged
Points: 0/31

Then, Anzu turned to Conan and Akari. "You two are to spar with each other until I say to stop. If you have not reviewed the basic Taijutsu stance already, you may take a few moments to do so. All of the following agenda must be completed: learning to dodge, tumble out of harm's way, inflict damage, grapple, and escape a grapple..."

Taijutsu
To practice Taijutsu, the students were paired up and sparred against one another. No one was allowed to use ninjutsu or genjutsu during the fight. Taijutsu were the only techniques used. The Students kept fighting until 5 HP was left.
To Attack: 1d20 + Taijutsu (Str)
To Dodge: Dodge (No dice roll)
To Grapple: 1d20 + Attack Melee
To Escape: 1d20 + Escape Artist (if failed to escape, -1 Hp per turn remaining in the grapple)
To Flip, Handspring, etc: 1d20 + Tumble
To Damage: Random number 1 + Str. to 6 + Str.
Ties go in favour to the attacker.
Rolling a "1" is an automatic failure.
Rolling a "20" is an automatic win. If a 20 is rolled during an attack session, the damage is doubled.
**All of the above listed must've been completed at least once.
