Shinzu had always believed that if you took things slow, and did them correctly you'd get way ahead of someone jsut trying to get things done quickly. Not that they listened to him very often of course, as things had showed thus far.

Masa just stayed in the middle. The forest was getting deeper and deeper. This was becoming just a tad scary. She kept looking around and seeing a lot of nothing. Then they came to it. A giant cage. Wrapped around it was a red flag with an S on it. Inside the cage was their scroll ... This was obviously a trap. "Um Batsu, you're agile right? Want to get that scroll while Shinzu and I look out for whatever used to be inside this cage?" The cage itsel was bigger than a house, she had every reason to tremble. She searched the shadows, the only light came from small holes above.

Batsu looked back at Masaraku then over to the cage. Well whatever was in that cage was clearly gone... and he didn't sense anything, so what the hell. The boy proceeded towards the scroll. Well one thing was for certain, he actually did something that Masaraku wouldn't do. He was bold enough to go after the scroll... or maybe he was just crazy. Either way he went for it.

The massive snake watched from the treetops. It slithered into position and launched at the blue girl, biting her, drawing back, biting her male companion, back to her once more, then inside the cage for a bit at the boy with the scroll and on it way out, she snapped at the unarmed boy and wrapped around him, sqeezing him.

Like Masaraku, Shinzu had stayed back to keep watch, and also like Masaraku he'd missed the big snake as it slithered down towards them. Then suddenly it lunged at them all in turn, causing relatively minor wounds, though it caught Shinzu with it's tail.

She hit it, but its hardened scales made most of her hits ineffective. She eyed the wound it had left. Minor, but it burned a little. She swong her sword at it again, praying that it would fall. When it didn't she slashed once more. "Let Shinzu go!"

Batsu looked in horror as Shinzu was caught by the snake. He immediately grabbed his bow and shot towards the beast's tail twice in the hopes that his team mate would be released. After he shot the two arrows, Batsu snapped the bow back in place and thought of something else. The boy clasped his hands together and they started to scatter in different directions... as did he.

2 = does not see through clones
13+34= 47 hit clone

The snake saw the clones. Confused, it lashed out at one, who vanished in its mouth. It attacked another, who did the same. It struck at a third, forgetting the others as it released Shinzu from its grip. It attacked a third Batsu-clone, but this one didn't vanish. It attacked it again, sweeping its tail at the others as it coiled it around the real Batsu and squeezed.
