Sailor Deneb | 5+4+3+8 | Roll 4
In a way, things really started to come to a head when the monster became frantic and desperate, wildly attacking without abandon. Ideally, this would have been the part where they were really starting to make some progress, and be close to winning, and maybe they really were, but then also, maybe not.
The trees seemed to grow taller and taller, to where they closed in on the group, blotting out what little light there was. Incidentally, the monster, too, seemed to grow in size, like someone had turned its height slider all the way to MAX. Deneb frowned; this wasn't how she envisioned this fight playing out.

Daisy Grace | 2 | 1 | 7 | 1
Staggering to her feet and breathing heavily, Daisy stared up at the monster and then up at the trees, watching both grow taller and darker. As the strong feeling of fear pressed in around her, she found herself suddenly grateful for the lack of sight in her one eye. She could only see some of the eyes staring balefully at her instead of all of them.
It wasn't much, but it was cheerful enough to keep her from curling into a ball and giving up right then and there.
As the fear grew stronger, Daisy closed her eyes and crouched, hands covering her face in a weak attempt to block out the feelings crowding in. She knew she should stand and fight, but how could anyone fight against something like this? It was too much to ask.

As the darkness spread across everything, everyone, there was a moment where nothing was visible. Everything seemed to go oddly silent, as if each person was trapped in a small room by themselves, with the walls closing in. The only reprieve from an overwhelming nothingness was the sensation of claws, suddenly, dragging over the skin. And then, the walls shattered, and there was the sensation of being shoved to the ground, like the monster was trying to push them back into the darkness. Like it wanted them to be swallowed up completely, lost in it. But then, even as the darkness seemed so inescapable, so consuming--something began to glow. Each collected talisman began to come to life; the illegible letters lit up like tiny beacons, fighting against the darkness. At first, they didn’t do much--but then they began to brighten, a little more at a time. The beast was unseen, but the sensation of being pushed, of talons on flesh, persisted. Quote: The creature is attacking indiscriminately; you may choose to be damaged or not! Damage can range from the sensation of bruising or slicing, but players can choose to take on lasting damage at their own discretion. Characters who are in possession of talismans have a boost this round! You may add +5 to your roll! If you have not completed the prompt to collect a talisman, you may handwave your character being in possession of one! You must include in bold, red, at the top of your roll that your character has a talisman in play and that you would like the +5 bonus!Roll 5: Use RNG to determine how much damage you can do to the monster! If you have a civilian, a powered character using their civilian glamour, or a Mauvian in their cat form, please RNG 1-8 to determine how much damage you do. If you have a first stage character, a Mauvian in their humanoid form, or a youma, please RNG 2-9 to determine how much damage you do. If you have a second stage character or a Mauvian in their Mauvian Senshi form, please RNG 3-10 to determine how much damage you do. If you have a third stage character, please RNG 4-11 to determine how much damage you do. If you have a fourth stage character, please RNG 5-12 to determine how much damage you do. Remember, your character cannot power up or down after they have arrived in this strange village so they should enter this battle and remain in whatever form they arrived in.
You may participate with as many characters as you like, however you must fill out all of your posts to be eligible for any post battle prizes. Please do not delete rolls if you make a mistake.
Please make sure you include your character's name and rank in bold red at the top of your posts when you roll! You do not need to include score or fill out your post immediately, but we need to know who you are rolling for. Please also make sure you include which roll you are posting for! Even if you are not attacking the beast, you can continue to roll for damage!
This is a team effort to defeat the monster! A low roll does not mean your character has to perform badly ICly. Dice rolls are an OOC function to determine how much cumulative damage the group has done to the creature. The group needs to do a minimum of 1500 damage to defeat him, but the more damage the group does, the more chances you have of walking with more than just your life…
Remember, your character can join this ORP at any point in time prior to the final post. If you miss a prompt, you can make it up at any point in time prior to the ORP Close with no penalty. The next prompt will be posted at ~8-9PM EST tomorrow!

General Jet | Roll 5 + 5 BonusJet had been aware of pain across his back, but he was unaware of the extent of the damage. For all he knew it was just badly bruised from when the monster struck him. But the look on Aquamarine’s face and the blood on his hands indicated it was probably a bit worse than he assumed.
“We will make it home,” Jet promised as he grabbed hold of Lovely’s bloodied hands, a determination in his eyes that superseded the pain and almost overwhelming fear and dread. Even though he said it out loud, was it really true? It had to be. This feeling… it had to be coming from something (the monster?), because he had never backed down from something so quickly in his life.
But then everything went dark… and silent... Jet’s breath caught in his throat. It was as though he was completely alone in that moment, torn from everything else. He squeezed his hands tighter around what he knew had to be Aquamarine’s. If this was magic trying to drown them, he refused to let go.
And then everything came flooding back, along with pressure shoving them to the ground. Luckily they were already mostly on the forest floor, but it was still enough to take the breath from his lungs.
From the pocket inside the opening of his jacket, he could feel something warm, and a faint glow come through the fabric. The talisman he’d found when he was searching for where Aquamarine had been taken? He let go of one of Aquamarine’s hands to pull it out and watched as it began to glow brighter.
“So I can find you,” he explained, and then took a breath and pushed the talisman into Aquamarine’s hands. Jet summoned his weapon to help get him back on his feet. He hadn’t really been on his feet since being injured, and now that he was he could feel the weight of it as blood soaked into his jacket.
“I’ll get us home,” he promised again, ignoring the way his legs shook unsteadily as he turned back to face the monster. Or at least where he assumed it had to be, even if he couldn’t see anything. He knew Aquamarine was probably going to scold him later, but if he could manage to help defeat this monster before passing out or being killed, he thought that would be considered worth it.
He lunged forward with his weapon at the ready, striking back at the monster as it swung its sharp talons at those around it.

Corrupt Eternal Kamacite | Roll 5 (Not attacking)It was difficult to control his breathing. Kamacite was in pain and the sudden darkness and silence was doing nothing for his anxiety. He felt the panic start to well up, even as he tried to push it back. Hand pressed hard against his chest, ignoring the hole where his starseed was, he quietly tried to convince his heart that it needed to calm down.
This creature was nothing like the youma he’d encountered, even in the Rift. Its magic was something more it seemed. It was overwhelming and felt absolutely devastating. And once again reminded him that he was completely and utterly alone.
The sensation of being shoved to the ground made everything even more disorienting, but at least now that he could tell the darkness around him had eased up, Kamacite could at least open his eyes.
There were lights that some people seemed to have with them, but what they were he couldn’t tell. He wanted to get up to try and fight, to use the dagger that the blond General had given him, but he didn’t think he had the energy to move.

Sailor Alsafi - Basic - 4 + 8 + 9 + 5 + 5
The Sebshi was swiping saeveral moments until it was dark - suffocatingly dark, and she promptly panicked, dropping her branch and curling up in a ball, covering her head in her hands and arms as the senshi's first=ever panic attack decided that claustrophobia was a fine souvenir if she got away from this.
If being the operative term.
Where others could keep fioghting, maybe, Alsafi could not, instead starting to burst into the kind of tears somebody whom was veryu plainly not going to be okay after an event might muster, and the senshi screamed in terror, starting to cry her fear into the darkness. Even when it melted away, she didn't move, instead gleaming red trails from claws ran along her back. It wasn't deep but the monster had decidedly drawn blood and caused substantial injury. She didn/'t do anything. She just cried.

Eternal Sailor Oberon, Senshi of Adventure | Roll 5 (Not attacking)“I’m here,” Oberon said to Pendour as the darkness enveloped them and their ears went deaf to everything around them. He kept his arms around her as she hugged him, and it hurt knowing that he couldn’t do anything more for her or for the creature that so many others were trying to kill.
He had every intention of trying to get Pendour further out of harm's way when the magic fell over them, and he was sure it fell over everyone else as well. It made him feel completely isolated and alone, and part of him wondered if this was how the creature felt?
Pendour was right. It was angry and cornered, which meant it was much more dangerous than it could have been. There had to be another way, right? Other than just waiting for the others to kill it, or for it to kill them?
Oberon dug his feet into the ground and his arms tightened around Pendour at the sensation of being shoved down, refusing to let the weight of the creature’s anger cripple either of them. At the very least it seemed as though they could move once more without being alone.
“Let’s get further away. Head towards the river,” he suggested, but wouldn’t move until Pendour was ready.

Sessrumnir, Knight of Jupiter | Roll 5 (Not attacking)He hated to admit that Palatine was right, if only because he knew Oberon was going to be even more upset than he already was, but if they expected to get out of there, something needed to be done about the monster.
It was going to be miserable living with his brother after this, Sessrumnir was guessing.
Unfortunately, before he had a chance to respond, the monster attacked again. This time it was more psychological than anything else. The darkness and silence and claustrophobia was certainly going to cripple some of them, and Sessrumnir could feel the beat of his own heart quicken.
Sessrumnir closed his eyes and focused on breathing instead. It seemed like they needed to wait this one out. Even if he tried calling out to Palatine or anyone else, he doubted he would be heard.
The sudden pressure of being pushed down nearly had him on his knees, but he gripped onto the tree they’d retreated to for support, and when he opened his eyes again there were lights coming from all around them.
Including beside him.
“Find something interesting?” he asked, nodding to the glowing from Palatine’s jacket pocket. Apparently knight clothing had larger pockets for women than normal clothing did.

Mauvian Bernard | Roll 1 (Attacking) | 2
While Bernard had made it through not getting captured and managing to avoid the fog, his fat reserves had come a bit in handy! Though it meant that he had lost a few pounds. He would have to get those back! But eventually it all had to come to an end, and a tree had been the catalyst to do so.
Of course it was a tree. Bernard knew he couldn't trust them!
Even so, it meant that there would be a change and that change was seeing all that had been captured were now still alive, and even better they had gotten out of wherever they had been held! Unfortunately right after that they had been attacked by fog-copies of the creature that had been trying to attack them this whole time and while Bernard had managed to dodge most of them, another creature eventually showed itself. He wasn't sure if it was the same one or if it just looked like them, but he tried to shoot a beam at it, unfortunately barely scraping it.
It had grown larger, but seemed to be losing momentum a bit as it seemed to be going slower, but that did not mean it had lost any power, which meant that Bernard still had to be on his guard and do his best to help those around him!

Captain Geocronite | Roll 1 (Attacking) | 8He had gotten to know Cybele a bit more, feeling as though he may have been gaining a small acquaintance within the Negaverse, which had made him start to question himself. Not in that he shouldn't still leave, that much he knew he had to do at this point even if he wasn't fully accepted by the other side, but that there were perhaps others in here that he could at least... talk to. It had been interrupted though when something had crashed through the ceiling, and when he had been able to get up and his ears had stopped ringing, it had turned out to be some sort of tree and he could hear water. Whether it was not filling in the room he didn't know, but he did know it was probably the best time to get out of here rather than hang around. He made sure that Cybele was out before had had gone out himself, but of course escape couldn't be that easy. They had to then deal with fog monsters that at least could be punched, but it still frustrated him. What was their purpose here? It wasn't until the fog had collected into some dark creature that he had gotten really annoyed and hurled a rock at it, hoping to do something to it. His weapons were useless at this time unless he were to go up and stab it himself. Which he doubted could do anything. They were carpentry knives, while they could be used for stabbing, he doubted he could even penetrate the thick fur of the monster. Still, he did what he could. There really was no other choice.

Civilian Jacques Lécuyer | Roll 1 (Not Attacking) | 1
Somehow the cellar had been better than trying to continually avoid the monster, especially after he had been caught in that fog the one time. Still, it was only a bit better. There seemed to be food and some water, though the bathroom smell was... something else. But still, somehow they didn't have to worry about the monster every night and they seemed to all fall asleep when the fog rolled in. He considered it a bit of a win. The only real problem was the fact that he couldn't tell one day from the next and wasn't sure how long they would be in here.
Eventually though, it all came crashing. Literally. The tree had allowed them to escape, but that didn't mean that Jacques could do anything about it. He was still just a civilian and was trying to heal from the wounds that had been inflicted by him by the monster. And as soon as they had escaped, they had to deal with even more monsters, eventually culminating in the large monster that seemed to not be going down at all. He wasn't sure how long they had, but he would keep attacking as long as he could. And if he collapsed from it, he just hoped that he would wake back up in Destiny City. Still, with how large the monster was, he was still hit with some debris as he attacked and couldn't dodge it like he could if he was powered.

DMS Basic Varda | Roll 1 (Attacking) | 7
Confronting the monster had been, of course, a bad idea, but it wasn't as though Varda had done it without thinking. She had noticed the others disappearing, but hadn't seen that much blood, at least not enough to hint that someone had been killed versus being hurt. But also she wanted to see if she could confront it and get away.
The latter part of course hadn't happened, and so she had been stuck in the cellar with more of the "missing" people, though she thought it was more weird that it was only them. What had happened to the others that had caused this place to be abandoned?
There wasn't much to try and figure that out however. The cellar didn't allow for any light, there were no scribbling or drawings from previous "prisoners" that would have hinted to anything else and they were put to sleep at the same time, she assumed when it was nighttime out and the creature had to leave. Whatever it was planning to do with them was still a mystery though.
And it would never be solved. There was a crash, suddenly some light and a hole to the sky and they had all gotten out as quickly as they could, only to be faced by more monsters that they had to defeat before they could go back to the village. Then the monster itself showed up and well, people were just whaling on it at that point, not even caring if they were doing any damaged because well, what else could they do? It wasn't until she felt the metal piece that she had been carrying in the pocket of her uniform try to "escape" that she held it out and it flew from her hand doing... who knows what, but she did her best to kick the beast with her heels, hoping it hurt it as much as they hurt her for these past 3 weeks.

Capt. Chambersite | Roll 1 (Attacking) | 1
He couldn't say if he had had been one of the "lucky" ones to escape having been captured by the beast, as the dwindling amount of resources was staring to hurt what was left of the group. There were less people to go and find food and materials and to help build whatever was left of the buildings in the morning as the beast skulked around and seemingly attacked at random. Even the house that he had been situated in had to be fixed several times due to the creature swiping at it. Though it hadn't been able to get it. He was unsure if it was because the creature truly wasn't that strong or if it was barely trying and only did enough damage to see if whatever was in the building would be easy prey for it.
Whatever the case though, Chambersite had "made" it but when he heard the loud "crash" happen he had gone with the others to investigate it. He had only gotten there to be able to see that it was some sort of tree that had fallen, dead-looking as well, when suddenly they were attacked by something else. Fog monsters it seemed, that could be destroyed with physical attacks. But that couldn't have been the end of it of course. Soon enough the fog appeared to take on a different form and some giant creature stood in front of them, starting to attack, and then eventually becoming bigger and bigger, as though it were some sort of anime monster or whatever.
Chambersite had tried to throw a rock at it, but it only seemed to hit one of the bones that decorated the creature, and if it had done any damage, it would have been a very small amount.

Sailor Monoceros [Roll 5] | 9 + 5 w/ talisman!
Monoceros took a deep, ragged breath in when the lights suddenly started appearing.
So that's why he so desperately needed to find a bunch, before.
Something to do with fighting the horrific monster.
The feeling of the beasts claws raking over his skin didn't cease, even though he had a bunch still around his neck, but it didn't matter. The sensation of slicing was hurting, yes, but he looked down and didn't see anything, except for the slice in his arm from the sharp, broken tree branch earlier. Magic. Magic that could be dissipated. He tried to move his injured arm and swallowed back a shout of pain. ********. Okay, don't do that, he told himself.
He could handle things with his left hand. Being ambidextrous had its perks. He may not have been able to see the beast, but thanks to the talisman beacons, he could see where it wasn't. All he had to do was aim for the pitch blackness and hope he hit the beast, since he wouldn't hit anyone else. He flicked his wrist, opened his hand, and prayed.
