20: You saw a familiar go into an adjacent hallway. You follow it, but it's gone. Instead, a gift remains. You may pick 1 trinket.
After finding out the dripping was just water, he shrugged and wanted to get out from underneath it. That was when a fennkit caught his eye. Liath took a step toward it and it darted down a nearby hallway. Walking after it Liath peeked around the corner expecting to see the thing waiting for him. However what he found was a bag of chocolate coins. he frowned picking them up. they reminded him of gifts he had long given his childhood crush. Said crush who he had witnessed confessing their love to someone else. He thought about leaving it there but remembered something his best friend had told him. What happened was all in his head, it was never real. It was time for him to make something real.

4: There's a hole in the wall, and you think you see a light coming out of it. You go to look at it, getting your face close. Nope! It was just a spider!
Contessa watched Aj put the pieces in his bag. He really was a good friend she knew he would make it right somehow. She frowned at him ignoring her hand, but that was not anything new. Tessa always flirted with AJ, she would call him cute or try to hug him or hold his hand. He always kept things clear between them. They were best freind's partners in crime. Simple. Following behind him she peeked in the same hole as him. "What are we lookin... OH! She stepped back quickly. She wasn't scared of spiders, and she doubted even if they were poisonous it could affect her hardware. Looking at him and back to the spider she purred " Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" She gave a wicked smile.
Kanda grinned at the scrunched up expression on Vega’s face when she put the bug in his hand. Both tails swished back and forth when he said he’d let her see the coatl. Getting the bug back didn’t bother her any, though she’d have to be careful with her notebook for a moment. As soon as the coatl was settled onto her shoulders, she scooted the bug off her notebook so she could pet it. It was smooth and kinda warm to the touch; she loved it.
”My dad is terrified of flitterrats. One time, I showed him one, and he almost jumped up on the table!!” It took her a moment to write that down for Vega, but she had a bright, amused, smile on her face when she showed him. ”I have four flitterrats, and a couple pumpka, and a couple wisps! I brought one of my wisps with me, that’s why it wasn’t so dark all night.” She bounced up and down from her tiptoes for a moment before walking over to stand next to Leto since he seemed so interested in the murals. ”Whatcha—“ A hole in the wall caught her interest, so she stuck her hand in, pulling out a brown stripy gem. Oooo, this was pretty. You should be friends with Enomu too! He told me he didn’t have any.” she signed to Leto after putting the rock into her bag.

There was probably no harm in observing the wall carvings as he made his way back to the main tunnel. It wasn’t that far away. Oh, there were more holes in this one. Were they natural, done as time had left its mark on the carvings, or had they been intentional? Cyril moved closer, looking into the hole.
He was surprised to pull out another gemstone. This one was blue, and he rather liked it. It joined the desert rose in his bag. They were moving further into the ruins now, and all the murals were interesting. There were plenty of beetles, and the winged nagas. At least, he thought they were nagas.

Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Anu managed to find Su and before she could say something, squinted at one of the walls. This place is seriously... They let folks have the run of it when the walls have minds of their own..? Creeping closer, she poked a claw in and hooked out a stone from a hole in the wall, catching it in the palm of her other hand. Turning it this way and that, she peered closely at the gem before having it join the others.

Combining the following; 12: You go down a corridor. It's dark, but you decide to continue. You fall into a 1 foot-deep hole. Ouch! 13: You see a trail of crumbs and decide to follow it, and run into... a familiar! You may pick 1 familiar. 13: You see a trail of crumbs and decide to follow it, and run into... a familiar! After their rest, Sprite got up, fennekit in arms and vesper following closely. They took their time, carefully stepping around anything on the floor dark-looking in an attempt to avoid any more spills. They had a time not just tripping over their new friend, and once out of that particular hallway, something caught their eye.
"...Crumbs?" Sprite was about to shrug it off when their new vesper meowed loudly, and followed the trail. "Ah, wait---!!"
Well, the Vesper was onto something, as soon enough, the three stumbled onto yet another oddball pair; A jackalope and a nezubat, happily munching on some poor kid's lost snack, probably. the two of them stopped immediately and pranced over, probably looking for another handout.
"Haha, well, I can feed you when I get back to the lodge." Sprite promised, the fennekit wriggling out of their arms to jump down and sniff the newcomers.
"Alright, guys, let's get go--"
Turning around, not looking where they were going, Sprite stepped into yet another hole. Instead of landing anywhere near as softly as before, they instead lurched forwards, falling face-first into the ground. they lay htere for a good few moments, their new familiars looking around in a surge of worry, the nezubat flapping around, making a lot of noise.
It wasn't polite to laugh. It wasn't polite to laugh. It took all of Vanna's willpower and thinking about the more nasty aspects of his job to keep a smile from his face. It was obvious that the cherub was distressed but it was just so amusing that he couldn't help it, the more sadistic parts of his personality just wanted to come out to the fore.
Luckily Vusala offered him an out with questions. Good he could focus on them instead of laughing. "Pleasure to see you again. As for a new friend, it sure looks like it. I always seem to get at least one new friend when I go out on ventures like this. Seems like this a good spot for gathering people." Vanna pointed out, he did frown though... was some one calling his name? It kind of sounded like Coco.
He was about to call back when something shined and caught his attention, putting his hand carefully into a hole in the mural he pulled out a stone?

Aurora asked: "Are there things that might sound like your name called here?" Dr. Ketzal stopped and looked at the Grimm who was asking, a surprised expression on her face. "No, there are no natural sounds that might sound like your name. You must simply be hearing things, or perhaps one of your friends are looking for you?" She offered her answer with a slightly nervous smile.
Aedus asked: "Hey what does this carving mean with the beetles??" They were now getting much deeper into the ruins, but Dr. Ketzal examined the wall carving. She clasped her hands together. "It actually seems as if they were harboring them as some kind of working familiar, to produce energy or assist with magic. Perhaps they knew something more about small beetles than we do."
Aurora asked: "How do the familiars of the ruins find water?" Dr. Ketzal smiled, pointing to the ceiling. "There are reservoirs of water this deep underground, and it drips into here. Otherwise, familiars receive moisture from the food they eat. They don't eat dry kibble out in the wild, and a lot of those that are native to the desert are suited to need less constant water than the ones you might keep in Asphodel."
Aedus asked: "Excuse me is there a first aid area? I feel in a foot deep hole, and it hurt a little." Frowning a bit, Dr. Ketzal looked back at the chaperones. "I personally don't have any healing magic experience, but perhaps another adult does? I'm sorry, we didn't bring any first aid personnel into the ruins, they're not known to be dangerous."

This portion of the META has been updated! The kids are going deeper into the ruins, and the atmosphere seems to have shifted slightly. A new rolling list has been added, and all rolls made after this post must follow that list. New familiars and trinkets have been added, too!
Kayla Sue had been wondering by herself for a while now and what wondering which direction to head next. Form the corner of her eye a beautiful wall carving catches her eye. Its looks like a naga with feathered wings, but the workmanship is so detail that it looks to be just painted but there was no way that could be true.
11: A wall carving catches your eye. It's a carving of what appears to be a naga with feathered wings, in more detail than any of the other carvings you've seen.
Aurora frowned she wondered if the doctor thought she was crazy asking if someone had been calling her instead of there being another answer. Unless there was something the doctor was hiding. It was a very strange thing, or perhaps there were old ghosts in this ruin. She then smiled as she listened to the doctor explain how the familiars survived in the wild. She wondered if the familiars he intended to take home with her would like dry kibble and fresh water.
Aurora felt something land of her back, she looked over her shoulder and saw a Nezubat, it was blue and green and quiet lovely. "Well hello there." She said softly to the familiar.
Coco felt like she was being watched she held the familiar she wanted to give Eilwen closer to her chest and hurried to find Vanna, she didn't want to wander the ruins by herself anymore. The feeling of being watched frightened Coco what if one of the infected wanted to take infected and make them stop taking their meds so they would revert to madness. She shook her head that thought was crazy right? The infected didn't care about Coco, Vanna, Eilween and Kingston, right? They wouldn't come and make them join their whatever it was.. Right right?? Coco hurried faster to find Vanna.
Continuing down the corridor, Horus had to pause. What had started out as a mural about beetles had turned darker than expected. In fact it looked like it as supposed to be another scene and the type of paint was different, like it was painted later. All Horus knew was it wasn't the light airy beetles any more. He was staring at what he would classify as a ritual, but it was bloody?
Being an Elf, he knew that history wasn't all roses but really should they be showing this to the freshlings. Then again everyone at the academy had been changed, was this any darker than what had happened during the haunted hallows festival? Well Horus supposed this was why they had chaperones, so the adults could decide. Horus raised his hand like he was going to touch the wall when sek meowed and butted their head against his chest. He looked down and smiled at them.
" yeah don't worry, I am walking away from the mural." He told the vespercat.
