Hp: 60/60 l Cp: 45/45 l MHp: 55/55 l DB: 16

Tairu recognized the look the Kaede's eyes, it was the same that he had not to long ago. It said, "Let me do it, I have to". Tairu understood what Kaede wanted. "If that's what you want Kaede-chan." Tairu said. He then removed himself from the space between Kaede and Zephyr. There were some battles that had to be fought one's own way. Tairu recognized this from his experience in solo training. He felt weird letting Kaede confront the Hokage alone but it was her wish.

Tairu walked about half the distance to where Taiju was as he wished to stay relatively close in case something happened.

A sigh of relief slipped by Tenma as she heard the call for the exams. With a smile towards Rhiam she followed him over to the bellowing male to introduce herself. At least, that seemed to be what everyone was doing. Her shy smile stuck itself firm onto her features as she approached the man, she wasn't about to let herself be intimidated by the yelling, unlike how she had acted when scolded by her grandfather. "Fujiko Tenma" a simple introduction but no one else seemed to be flourishing their entrances either. Content that he knew the child was there Tenma stood next to Rhiam, the familiarity gave her some comfort in the slightly stressful situation.

Zephyr glanced at his charge.

"...Saito, just proceed."

The boy shouldn't have to wait on him. Sighing, and calm now (thankfully for the onlookers, the oni's image had vanished), he looked down at the girl evenly. But as he watched her rub at her eyes and wipe her nose with her sleeves, he did feel a stab of guilt. Well, sure...Tatsuki was an antique...but perhaps...maybe...

"You shouldn't do that." He scolded, but gently. "It's unsanitary." Well, well...what to do...? But he only had a decorative handkerchief with him, his old woman's which his mother had supposedly sown the leaf embroidery.

Mumbling, yet reaching into his robe's pocket, he searched for it and took out the embroidered piece of heavy silk, it's pretty patterns of silver forest leaves set against the darkly emerald background, setting contrast and shimmering in the soft basking glow of the morning light. Because he had never bothered really looking at the thing, he didn't realize leaves weren't the only thing Senju Haruka had sown...

The clan insignia was embroidered in the frame of leaves in silver as well.

Earlier, in the village, when he yelled at her...perhaps it had been too cruel.

"Look. The doll may worth much, but you are a human being (what was that about a little mouse, anyways...?)." He huffed, pressing the handkerchief roughly into her hands. "Quit crying, and wipe your eyes. Shouldn't a future kunoichi stand proudly? Show that doll worth less, and make something of yourself."

He frowned.

"Sir's weird. It's Zephyr."

He pointed to himself and then gestured to her.

"And you, girl?"

Taiju looked over at the new girl who said that she was here for the exams. Then the bell, after what felt like an eternity, rang out. About damm time too...

"Alright then that means we have three people ready to take the exams, and everyone else is an auto fail for being late."

Oh, yeah that Hyuuga was still speaking. The damm woman wouldn't just come out and say anything. Always hiding behind her words and never actually saying what she meant. Answering a question with a question was akin to lying in Taiju's book.

"The concept of family is a joke. You and I both know what horrid things our 'families' have done to us. You are correct though, family is a foolish concept. I also did not mean to imply that you hated all of the Senju, only most of them. Are clans aren't exactly drinking buddies or anything. If I would ask anything of you, it would be to only judge me by what I have done, and not by where I come from. I do the same for you."

Taiju looked over the three participants in the Genin exams with annoyance. He needed something for them to do... Maybe he could have them rob the Hyuuga compound as a joke. But there was a Hyuuga present, so that was about as good as challenging a fish to a swimming contest. What to do...

It appeared that situation Kaede was in was quickly coming to it's own resolution and she did not need Tairu to stick around. That instructor looks like he is getting a little impatient... Tairu walked back over to the group. He stood next to Rhaim anxiously waiting to hear what the Genin Exams would consist of.

"Alright then that means we have three people ready to take the exams, and everyone else is an auto fail for being late."

Wait, that means that if all of us pass, this will be our cell right here.Tairu thought as he looked at the other participants. Tairu had already met Rhaim but he was unfamiliar with the young girl. What was here name again? Fujuko... Fijiko... Fujiko Tenma! that's right I heard her say it earlier. Just like most of the others Tairu had met today he was unfamiliar with her name as well.

Shirayuki Kaede - Academy Student

Theme: For My Father

LV. 2 | Experience: 44/110 | Hp: 16/16 | Cp: 6/6 | MHp: 24/24

"Y-you shouldn't Sniffle. do th-that," Kaede croaked, throwing his words back at him. "It's un-unsanit-tary... I-I'd only
dirty i-it."

No, this was something that she shouldn't be allowed to touch, let alone near. It simply felt wrong, like doing so would make her a bad guy. The nervous girl pressed the handkerchief back into Senju-sama's hands, flinching when her fingers accidentally brushed against his. Like a burn.

And the handkerchief was so beautiful too. Cloth that was smooth and shimmered in the light. Kaede had once read about such material before, in a scroll about trading goods. Something extremely rare and valuable. Like the silver- oh my god... she was touching silver!? - thread. What was it called? Silk? And the intricate embroidery... something only a skilled artisan could make. Clearly this was a possession of a noble. And from the clan insignia on it, Senju, it made sense.

Perhaps Senju-sa- no, Senju-sama... was here to see Senju-san. The similarities of these blood relatives were now apparent: both were hot tempered, made violent threats she couldn't tell were real or fake, had given her strong impressions, and possessed a gentle side that threw her off. And they both gave her similar pieces of advice. Yes, Kaede would have to work hard... before she could call herself a shinobi. Yet Senju-sama carried valuable things around him, whereas with Senju-san, the girl would not have guessed his status.

What's more, he insisted on being called by first name, just like Senju-san. Did they not like their last names? Zephyr. Zephyr was such a strange name. So his full name was Senju Zephyr... Strange, yet vaguely familiar, like she should know who this person was just by name. Yet her memory failed her. Stupid.

"Sh-
shiray-yuki... Kaede... " the girl muttered, wiping more tears with her sleeves.

And because he was so similar to Senju-san, Kaede felt that Senju-sama would not harass her about her surname. Even if he was an aristocrat and she was The Garbage Man's daughter. Actually, now it felt forbidden to even be around him, lest she taint him with her presence. The girl couldn't help but feel curious as to why a noble was even bothering with the genin exams. He could always talk with Senju-san back at their clan estate...

"Um, um... S-senju-sama, a-are you Hiccup. here t-to see...?" Kaede glanced at Senju-san and Hyuuga-san's, well, if not his mother, then at least his relative. Then, the girl had noticed the boy who had trailed around Senju-sama. They didn't appear to be related. His pupil perhaps?

"O-or is your s-student participating...?"

Saito stares at the handkerchief. At first he wanted to ask 'Zephyr-sama, how sanitary are /you/?', but then he could expect to loose his Hokage potential liking to him.

He simply shook his head at the though and made the Ox seal.

It was time to make some real progress.

Saito closed his eyes, his brows looking stressed as he started focusing. He could once against feel this chakra pumping and grinding to move. He pushed, feeling himself almost heat up. He started burning chakra. He could already feel light-headed.

Saito looked up as he was mentioned by Kaede, and suddenly lost focus. He quickly looked back, but broke his concentration and his hand-sign..

He sighed and smiled weakly, giving a wave as he made another ox sign. Let's try again...

Restricted Chakra Burn-out
Description: The teacher has the students keep burning their chakra to build up more chakra stamina. They must hit exactly 0 to finish the training successfully. If they went into the negatives, the student would pass out and would have to be revived by their teacher (chakra transfer only revives, does not give chakra to students...or the traditional icy water) and students then must rest until their Cp is recovered.
Formula: 1d20 + Chakra mod.
DC: Every interval of 5 in whatever the result of your formula equates to -1 Cp. But as Zephyr notes, chakra control is very important. Getting into the negatives is very dangerous, and can actually kill people. So, if you fail to perfectly get your Cp to 0 (in this case, since you have no chakra mod. that means if and only if your dice roll is a 15 or 20, to which it will be a -3 (for a dice roll of 15) or a -4 Cp (for a dice roll of 20) respectively) then you must do this each time you are in danger of falling into negative Cp:
DC: 12
Formula: 1d20 + Chakra Control
**If and only if you succeed that second check, will your Cp reach perfectly 0. Note that you can only count a success if you reach 0 normally, without doing this chakra control regulation section. Thus, if you rolled a 15, and is in danger of falling into -1 Cp (meaning you will faint until Zephyr revives your character somehow by either transferring chakra or throwing cold water, etc.), then you do the Chakra Control check. If you succeed, you manage to reach 0, but it does not count towards the success of this activity.
***Rest when necessary. You will regain +1 Cp for every resting post, four completed lines minimum. Keep note that in resting posts you cannot do anything else, or any other checks, BUT rest.
Special Note (important!): This means Zephyr's bonus in this case will actually SUBTRACT from your dice roll rather than add to it, from giving advice on regulating to prevent you from dangerously depleting your chakra.

((I just love how Saito doesn't get the concept of the nobility carrying decorative items. xD))

Did she hate her family?

She did not.

They took her freedom, her father made her a bound bird under constant watch, but... In the past, each time she tried to insist that her father did it out of love, and worry...Zephyr would hit her roughly on the head (a reprimanding tap, without his harsh inhuman strength), until she would admit that it was for a selfish reason too.

But isn't that what made them human?

To be human was to be selfish, no matter how magnanimously-seeming in nature. To claim otherwise, would be a sham, because humans were not gods, nor divine spirits or immortal creatures like Touzoku-san's phoenix companion, then it was only expected that they, as little human beings with their limited time on earth, would be the fragile balance of good and evil that they were.

"Hate is a strong word, Senju." She scoffed.

...just as little human beings, with the fragile control they had over their lives, family...familial and all other relationships... It was all the same: it was only what they made of it.

"Family is what you make of it, Tairu-han."

And so, perhaps surprising the other that she did remember his name, and leaving her words at that, smoothly turning, she allowed her charge to take front stage.

We may be God's play things...
...but we do not stop struggling.
To stop struggling, is to no longer live.

The young Yakedo moved his hands together once more, making sure his ox-sign was correct. He closed his eyes once more. Slowly, he begun to drown out the ambient noise, smirking a bit at the peace.

Once again his chakra started flowing, and he wasn't sure he'd ever get used to it. His forehead wrinkled as he focused more, pushing his chakra more.

It was truly circulating. He started slowly breathing faster and faster. He need to burn this and get better! He didn't even know one jutsu. He could've been at this exam had he not been so childish.

He coughed a bit, knowing he burned nearly half of what he thought he could achieve.. he blinked, his body refusing to give him much more. His teeth flashed as his emerald eyes glinted under the morning sky.

Almost there! Almost There!

'I just need to make sure I push myself, like Zephyr sensei said, just not push myself to the point of passing out....', his mind frantically raced as he held his ox sign.

"Hate is a concept I live with daily, Yokou. Now I’m afraid I must beg my leave, for I have an exam to proctor."

Taiju turned to the three students, making sure to look as disgusted as possible with them. God how he hated students.

"Alright listen up! You three are about to take part in the Genin exams. Because I’m not really interested in seeing a bunch of students beat the hell out of each other, I’ve decided to change things up a little. You'll need guile, stealth, and a lot of luck for it."

This was probably a bad idea, but it would be amusing nonetheless.

"You are to track down a small gold statue that belongs to my family and bring it to me. I'm not going to tell you where, but you have the rest of the day to get it to me. Use any means necessary to get it back to this clearing. I don't care if you have to kill each other to do it. Just be aware that I’ve hidden it quite well."

And here was where he dropped the final bombshell.

"The one that brings it back to me will be the only one that passes. Have fun!"

Taiju couldn't stop himself from grinning evilly. This would be amusing to watch...

Tairu listened intently as the proctor divulged the contents of the test. A gold statue? We're not going to fight? This was completely unexpected.Tairu didn't even know where to start, the man could have hidden the statue anywhere. This is ridiculous, the academy doesn't have anything like this in the curriculum! Tairu thought. He tried to come up with what his first step should be, Well Maybe I should just ask him for a tip, it sounds stupid but it might work. "Um excuse me, is there any information that you can tell us about the location of the statue?"

He got down to the kid's level and smirked. Was he really so stupid as to ask the instructor? Well the kid would definitly get his answer...

"IT'S NOT HERE!" Taiju boomed angrily. With any luck he would be able to see a hyuuga afraid for the first time ever. God he hated students and their dumb questions. With any luck they would all flee and possiblly kill each other in the process. Less annoying brats needing s**t from him.

Saito's mind raced. He truly wondered how much one could push themselves before this actually becomes fatal. He didn't need to rest, his body got this tired when he ran a little. He just wasn't used to getting this tired so quickly.

He needed to build these foundations, he didn't need motivations. It was simple anatomy. His body never needed this chakra, now he'll make it need it.

Saito could feel it rushing out of him, all this dormant energy. He coughed a bit more, his emerald green eyes still glazed over as a few sweatdrops formed on his wrinkled forehead.

Saito brought the sign up to his face and his knees slowly bent, his pupils dilating. Suddenly he felt his chakra explode, the wheels in his body giving in. He felt a huge pressure on his body, his reserves were gone..

or were they?

No!

'This is the assumed point lord Senju spoke of...', he cried in his mind, his body aching from the pressure he went through. He couldn't put out any more chakra. His body truly and suddenly ached. So quickly, in a matter of minutes there was nothing. He felt so tired...

He broke the sign, not helping himself but falling to his little knees. The boy started to regulate his breath, taking a seat in the ground.

Now to repeat after I focus and get some more...

He regulated his breath furhter, closing his eyes, focusing.

He looked up to his sensei, the genin had dispersed. The exams had started. "I did it...", he managed, more to himself.
