"You seem a bit angry, but I assure you I meant no disrespect. I was simply inquiring as to why someone of your status was bothering herself with something this trivial."
As usual the Hyuuga was testy at best. "I respect your strength and your experience, and I’ve shown you no disrespect. I would ask that you at least get off your high horse and at least be civil towards me."
The infernal woman always seemed to think herself better than the rest. While her rank demanded respect from most people, it meant nothing to him. Her prowess in combat was another matter.
"It's funny to see a beautiful woman like you in such plain clothes. Unfortunately a beautiful woman is still a beautiful woman, regardless of one’s rank or clan. Would you agree?"
Truly, he meant no disrespect towards the Hyuuga. With any luck he would one day work past her hatred of Senju. It was doubtful, but a goal for him nonetheless.

Wait a moment.
His doll!
His Tetsuki!!
His mind shifted back to the village...after that...THING...and then...and then...no! No no no no no! He refused to believe it! His Tetsuki - her nose broke when he dropped the doll to catch this damned girl!!
"Bro...ken..."
And, and...and the worst part...
It hit him like a ton of bricks.
HE LEFT TETSUKI BACK IN THE VILLAGE.
Back. In. The. Goddamn. Village.
The prize he had won in Marcus' festival...
That special custom doll by Iwa's head craftsman.
Unforgivable.
The fires of hell had all too suddenly erupted behind him.
Absolute-ly Un-for-givable!
The air behind Zephyr seem to waver, before forming...
His lips moved.
"Bro..."
A vein throbbed on his temple.
A giant oni's head pouring fire from its mouth.
"...ken...?"
WHY, HE'LL BREAK-!!!
And then, all the sudden, that old bat Sora's anger-management lessons kicked in.
Count to four...
He did.
Breathe in.
He continued counting.
Breathe out.
And instead of the surely expected outburst, the sweetest smile greeted Kaede.
"I'm afraid you must be mistaken..." He said, brightly. "I have no brother, but I do have this annoying little cousin who breaks every thing of mine." His green-gold eyes flashed. "If only taking him to Ame and feeding him to crocodiles wasn't illegal...heh, heh, heh..." A dark chuckle concluded his words.
It was only a wonder to whom he referred.Rank: Hokage | Position: Head of Clan, Senju Royal Family Title: White Tiger of KonohaThe old man is dead now...why do I still live his promise...? Saito ran at an epic speed, his heart racing as he caught up to Zephyr. His eyes widened as he saw flames behind Zephyr.
"Wha--", before he could finish wondering what was going on, he suddenly tripped and stumbled face first into Zephyr's thigh.
He latched on, closing his eyes, surprised.
Oops..
Not good..
I feel heat and anger...
I'm scared!!
Saito cringed, holding onto Zephyr's leg a bit tight. He shut his eyes, closing his mouth and holding his breath, acting like a growth on the Hokage he hoped he wouldn't notice.
'He's going to kill me!', why was that rock there?! Who puts rocks in places like that.
"DONTKILLME!", he shouted, his mind racing of Zephyr using some crazy jutsu to make his eat his own kidneys.
...
There was a lot going on for this little boy~

Kaede furiously rubbed at her lips. It was her first ki- too and, and-
She squeezed her eyes shut. Her mind was too blank from confusion - What did he mean he didn't have a brother!? But she saw - and pure terror to think straight. 'What are you, a fish!? Say something Shirayuki. Anything. Anything!'
"I-I'm sorry Little Miss M-mouse, but it isn't me. It's y-you-" 'ANYTHING BUT THAT. STUPID!!!' Ooooh great, now she was sputtering Miharo-sensei's lines from that stupid dream. It was a stupid dream. She could fix this somehow.
"NO! Th-that isn't what I m-meant I-"

"I'MSORRY. I'MREALLYREALLYSORRYSIR!"
The little girl threw herself to the ground, bowing furiously. And if it was possible, she would like to hit her head against the ground repeatedly at the same time too. Before Kaede knew it, she found herself reverting into hiccups and sobbing.

Rhaim stood a small ways away from the man who had up until this point had acted like the head instructor for the genin exams. As time drove onwards it became more and more apparent that the exams were going to be much more of an ordeal than he had originally thought they would be. The constant influx of people made him feel like some sort of caged animal in a zoo. There were more people in the immediate area that weren't involved with the exams than were. It was probably just another ploy by his sisters to keep a close eye on him and try to give him more unneeded stress. Clearly there was no end to the lengths that they would go in order to torment their little borther. With a light sigh the Nara laid down on the grass to begin his cloud gazing anew. The last thing he needed was to try and follow all of the drama unfolding.

Hp: 1210 | Cp: 3250 | MHp: 1200He was nearly thrown off balance when something - or rather, someone - crashed into him. But no no, of course, that was not even the...the creepiest part of this whole ordeal! What! Did Konoha breed special octupuses that could live in the forest when he wasn't around...? He looked, for one of the rare times annoyed by his general height, but instead of an octupus, saw...
"Saito." Grumbled Zephyr, rather irately. Kids these days were...were far too...what happened to the Students with the calm nerves! "You're not going to die, baka deshi (idiot apprentice)!" He glowered, from Saito below who all the more seemed to refuse to let go the more he glared, to Kaede...
It's not her but him...?
What?
What?! What was this girl babbling about! Tatsuki is ruined and...and... What, was there something on his face...? He did escape a trap in the forest before, when following Yokou...apparently his family thought it was funny to dig holes and put explosive notes on the bottom of the pit...thank goodness he thought to check the ground before walking...
But some soot, did it...?
"What, is there something on my fa-..."
Yokou's voice rang in his head.
"You know, Sensei...you are HORRIBLE in understanding women. Please, don't try."
Fa-...
Face.
Face!
...
It was all Yokou's goddamn fault!
Too late. The girl was prostrating (as she should, added his angry subconscious, for Tatsuki's fate)...but still...he supposed he felt...just a twinge guilty...
Ummm....what was he supposed to do...? In situations like these.
...ap...ap...apo...
"Go-..." He began.
The next syllable was harder...yet his lips made an excellent effort at moving.
"Go--..."
A veinpop appeared.
"Go--m..."
Almost there.
He gritted his teeth, trying to allow the word from hell to leave his lips (gomen)...
"God-dammit!"
That was definitely NOT the right one.
He took a deep breath.
"S-stop...stop apologizing!" He told the girl. "It's...it's annoying!" There was a breathing pause. The girl couldn't help it, that she was such a hateful wimp. Such a crybaby. She knew that shinobi weren't supposed to be like this, and yet... Kaede's frustration at her inability to stop crying made her want to sob even harder. The girl had no idea what the man was trying to say, but it was clear he was still angry. He had every right to be.
"Sir, I-I'm s-so Hiccup. s-sorry... for b-b-bbe-ing ann-Hiccup.-annoying-ng. I'll... I'll... "
And Kaede found herself thinking back to that horrible dream. While it was horrible, she couldn't possibly have her father be put in debt for something she was clearly at fault for. A burden. That's what a burden would do. Kaede couldn't afford to allow herself to be a buden. And yet she couldn't propo... propose - the word made her cringe immensely - to him. The girl was, well... a girl, not a woman, and that would be extremely weird. And it was too presumptuous for her to assume that her worthless self could possibly equal that of his little... cousin's? doll. No, she would have to offer something else.
"I'll d-do wh-whatever Sniffle. y-you want me t-t-to do. T-to pay off m-my debts. An-anyth-thing..." she muttered against the ground, trembling, and sniffling, her head still bowed.
Even if it meant working as a servant or a slave... the girl would spend the rest of her life working it off until the day she died.

It was obvious that what ever had happened between the two of them was so upsetting that Kaede couldn't even communicate properly. He reached down and grabbed the back of Kaede's kimono and pulled her off of the ground. Is this really what I should do I? he wondered as he knowingly invaded Kaede's bubble in order to step between Kaede and Zephyr. Tairu did feel fear, but he prayed that the Hokage wouldn't kill him. "Pardon this ones interruption, but what ever damages Kaede-chan has caused I will gladly cover."Tairu stood with all of his muscles screaming in fear, but he did not run or shy away, he looked up to the towering face of the Hokage, and he looked at him square in the eyes. Tairu also firmly believed in his back up plan. Scream for Yokou-sama to stop the Hokage from beating him.

Fine. That was fine with her. In the diplomatic world, it was all a stage-act: merely a mask of civil behavior and as far as she was concerned, without drawing Kusanagi or threatening to cut off this person's chakra lines, and speaking without insults, that was civil enough. She merely spoke of fact, that she owed him no demanded explanation.
What, what else did this boisterous young Senju expect? Respect was given, not demanded, just as she was free to offer a reason if she wished. Firstly, speaking one's given name, in the eastern tradition, is meant only for the closest...and what is it to him how she chooses to dress? Dress did not define the person, nor was it any of her concern nor problem that Senju failed to see the reason to his question present in these very fields (Tairu), or the general thickness of the royal family.
Was it - really - not obvious? Incredible.
But, because Senju will fail to realize otherwise, she looked - very slightly - in the direction of Tairu. Yet still, even with this person...her tone softened a bit. "His father won't come." Simple words: pride rebelled, and the rest went unsaid, but perhaps it would be unnecessary.
Because it was the least she could do, for young Tairu.
She could not offer replacement for a parent's love, or a parent's support...but she could still at the very least, support, and watch him grow. And so she stays. "Oh.. ", he thought. The boy's blood suddenly ran to his face. He slowly let go. His sensei wasn't mad at him.
He was caught up in the moment after all... he was.. shy? No. Saito just wasn't used to so many peers, it had been quite an eventful day..
Saito was a child after all.
He quietly unlatched from his death-leg grip and brushed himself off. Saito closed his eyes, still embarassed at his immature turnout, now glad Zephyr wasn't flustered with him.
He simply crossed his arms, his usual apathetic, controlled visage winning over. The young Yakedo looked to a girl-- apparantly she was the forefront of troubles for the Hokage.
He looked as she stumbled down and broke out in tears. "Zephyr-sama? Why is she planning to be a shinobi... ", he observed quietly, wondering why the girl was so distressed that she started hiccuping in fear.
She was rather pretty, his somewhat cold eyes glinting as he looked over her; though she seemed very soft and her emotions overcame her logic. How flawed. He looked down, analyzing her profile in his mind as he once more ran his hand through his hair, wincing as the wind moved against his eyes. Gently and neatly he moved his bangs to the side, taking his hairpin out, carefully placing it to hold once more.

Taiju looked over towards where Zephyr, Tairu, and Kaede were, and quickly put two and two together. So she was here for Tairu, which wasn't surprising given the fact that they were both Hyuuga.
"Well I’m glad that you have a big enough heart to be here for him. Not even I had that back in the day."
It was true that Taiju had never really understood what the word "family" meant. He hadn't really had one, since no one technically gave birth to him. The house structure was complex and if you tried to graph it, it looked more like a scatter plot than a tree. Who the hell had ever heard of a family scatter plot?
"Still, why didn't you just say that earlier? Is it so hard to be nice to a Senju like myself? If I have somehow injured your person, property, or pride by talking to you I will gladly do my best to remedy the situation."
As usual the princess was acting more like a queen without a castle. She demanded respect from those who didn't care, and turned every casual conversation into a stressful situation. It was trying to diffuse a bomb every time you tried to speak with her. Did the women even know what the word "casual" meant?

But then, it seemed all the wailing and whining was growing more and more beyond the point he could stand. Snap. There was a sound of what little patience remaining breaking, and the flames of hell behind him suddenly flared, darkened in color as they intensified and Zephyr's own hair seemed to float ominously and the oni's image looming behind opened its mouth - bearing a demon-like grin and displaying sharp, sharp teeth as its ruby eyes glowed... Looking closer, an ominous shadow fell upon the Senju's own face, and his left eye seemed to glow with eerie light.
Senju Zephyr was rather inept when it came to comforting.
"As the Romans say, if you can't pay, pay with your organs!" He snapped. But to this, here he paused, and then looked thoughtful. "Wait...that wasn't how it went..." He muttered.
Oh well.

And the girl flinched when she felt something tug at her kimono and drag her back up on her feet. A wave of fear hit her. Was it an enemy shinobi that was going to attack her? Did someone mistake her for a test participant and was trying to gauge her capabilities? It seemed like a lot of things were out to get her lately. Oh... it was just Hyuuga-san. And the words that followed...
What!?
"N-no, Hyuuga-s-san!"
Kaede couldn't allow her sempai to be involved in her matters, much less pay for her mistakes. That would be breaking her resolve not to become an utter burden. And even if Hyuuga-san had paid for the doll, to Kaede, the debt would only shift to Hyuuga-san instead of this man. No, this was her responsibility... she was the one who broke it in the first place! The girl was so bent on paying whatever price the man demanded, that she was about to ask, "Which o-o-organs... do you want?"
... until she realized that it wasn't what he really asking for. Now, she was even more confused than she was before. What did he really want then? And she couldn't help but worry, it was part of her nature. Because it seemed that things were being resolved too quickly for comfort. Saito watched as Zephyr went through the phase of anger, holding himself back, failing at that then growing as a leader.
He smiled, (^-^), and moved his hands to the back of his head, glancing back at his teacher.
He really wanted to start on his burn-outs, but really wasn't sure if it was a good time to ask.
He didn't want to tempt the kage further. Saito simply looked down at Kaede. She seemed interesting, and at the moment she hadn't noticed him. Maybe she could use some support?
Saito opened his mouth-- but his logical side once more won over. The boy promptly shut his mouth. Saito glanced once more to his teacher, hoping he'd get to train soon.
He was expecting hell... well-- this was hell, but not the kind he'd expected.

There was a slight pause, before she continued smoothly. "Family shouldn't be only just in the name." She looked at him evenly. "To what meaning would a name amount to, if it destroys the very thing it should represent?" She allowed her words to linger, and as the passing breeze brushed ghostly fingers through her long midnight-blue locks, partially obscuring her expression with the smooth locks following the waves of the wind, her lips moved, her next words quiet:
"How foolish a thing." She said, simply.
Yokou did not like Senju, because she disagreed with their ways, but...
"...if I had hated Senju, then that would mean I would've hated him too."
...because as annoying and reckless as her Sensei was, his cheerful smiles still bring one upon her own face. She would protect him, not out of the duty expected for one serving the Hokage - no no, nothing as meager as rank or class - not even for any pretense of protecting the royal family, whatever her family chooses or so to think... She would protect him, simply because he was as he was, coarse and insensitive, yet still a spirit with such brilliant kindness, despite how so his hands were stained.
