If the Vertigo spell were to hit his movements would be delayed regardless of the speed, due to temporary inner ear damage.
Success: Due to Ravens Delayed movements rushes foward launching a double foot plant into his stomach.
Failure: Rushes foward and attempts to attack with double foot plant into his stomach.

*This could be it Raven thought. As Epithany dashed at him, Raven's three clones sped up behind her. Suddenly three quiet words escaped from Raven's lips.*
"Arms of endlessness."
*An after image immediately appeared next to him as he dashed off in Epithany's direction. There was still a good twelve yards between them and something strange began to happen. As Raven dashed in his consistent form of Shukuchi, he ran his fingers through the nearby smoke. All the suddenly he engulfed in multiple arms of smoke that were lifting out of the clouds behind him. Each flew at Epithany with a mind of its own, trying to destroy her.*
*Just as Raven was about to have his clones that were chasing her down explode upon her, he felt the weight of her tiger that had previously exploded. He thought it was nothing at first, but the mana that erupted from the explosion was hurting him now. The clones self destructed without any reason. Luckly his arms were still flying towards Epithany.*

Sliding to a stop seeing that he no longer occupied the space where he was standing mere moments before she spun to catch sight of the arms of smoke reaching out for her. Driving her staff into the ground she proceeded to charge mana into her hands clashsing with the approaching smoke hands. Pushing heavily into the oppressive force she unleash dueal streams of raw mana pushing back the attack with the unfocused energy.

*He found her response to be unbelievable, or maybe it was just more unexpected. Her energy was boring straight through multiple smoke arms. Each one was condensed to a point that it almost matched concrete. For a moment he just stood there stunned, mesmerized by the return. It wasn't the most powerful attack he had ever seen, it was just how beautiful of a response it was.*
Now or never, Raven....
*Snapping back into action, Raven charged Epithany. He was dashing at her head on, and the only thing between him and her was a dozen smoke arms and beams of energy pushing them back. With his right arm he unhooked a katar from his pants, locked his arm out to his side, and prepared to strike when he got close enough. With his left he pulled the remaining smoke to shield him from her dual streams of raw mana.*
*The smoke covering the ring spiraled around furiously as it was pulled in front of Raven's hand into the form of a wall. For an outsider it would seem as if the ring was taken over by some tornado of grey smoke. Raven rarely did something like this for he knew that the amount of smoke he was gathering was too much to hold in one spot.
*It would be a close one, if her attack was not strong enough Raven potentially wouldn't be able to contain all the smoke in front of him. It would explode outward in all directions, taking a good potion of Raven's strength with it. If her attack was too strong, it would bore through the smoke arms in front of her, his shield, and probably him. However, if Raven was right, her attack would protect her from the smoke arms, and destroy the shield before Raven smashed into her with it, and give Raven an opening from point blank range.*
