"Drop by whenever you'd like," he offered as he tugged on his pants, buttoning them before yawning and lazily running a hand through his hair. "Just, yanno, knock first. I may not be home, after all." Or someone else might be, and having Mignon walk in on something like that would be quite unfortunate. "But you can always come crash here if you want. Get away from the world for a few days. I like the company."

Amakusa_Ryu DUN DUH DUUUUUUUH~~~ *waves flags* Lyrus has gained a new Ability! It was... certainly interesting to get all of those people drunk. And Lyrus got to get drunk too. And it was allowed, because it was for his quest! Nothing could be better than that, right? Finally, after Mignon became so drunk she actually snorted, Lyrus found himself with a new ability. He now... Can memorize and perfectly mix any drink he comes across. --------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't decide if I'm the sick b*****d of if Chaco is for giving me my quest. I guess it would be me. Recently an ability quest turned up tacked to my door--all I had to do was get five people drunk. Easy enough, I go to the bar just about every night. But I decided against taking the easy way out, for...whatever reason. I think Jani made me do it. Unintentionally, of course, but she gave me the idea. Jani left for boarding school, see. She showed up pretty late one evening saying she was leaving the next day. So I decided to send her off with a few drinks. She's young, but, hell, it can't hurt, right? It was a one time thing, and then she was leaving... It seemed fitting, I guess. We hung out for a while, then I walked her home. And that's the last I've seen her. It was also the first person I could check off towards my quest. Which made me realize that it was much more cost efficient to get kids drunk than adults. It doesn't take as much alcohol, you know? And I guess that's where I sunk. I started hanging around the Sin'aeis mansion, picking out people to give me a hand. I talked Yukito into helping (who, though older than my aim, was an extreme lightweight, not to mention we used Aylee's alcohol), then Flitch, but I did help Flitch get home safe, so I can't be that horrible. Another day I ran into Anisia and Mignon at the mansion, they both agreed to help pretty promptly. But those two actually knew what they were getting themselves in to, so I claim complete innocence there. Ani drank a bit and dozed off. We left her on a couch in the mansion, which was probably a bad idea in retrospect, but at the time I was too drunk to care. Mignon came back and stayed the night with me, and that's about all I'll say about that. And that ended my quest. Even after that, it took me several days to figure out my ability. I can mix drinks, apparently. Perfectly, I mean. Any drink. It's not quite as exciting as my last one--manipulating glass has proven incredibly useful--, but I'm sure it'll have it's uses. For example, as of a few days ago, I'm closing my shop early and working nights in the bar I frequent a few blocks away. I spend most evenings there anyway, I'd might as well make some cash doing it. Already I'm making a name for myself with my 'magical mixing abilities'. Every drink perfectly suited to whoever ordered it every time. The tips really pile up. I don't know, it's still not where I want to be. It should be, I guess. I have just about everything I want. It just feel like I could do better. I feel so...grungy, low class. I don't know. I figure I'll test my skills for a while longer then see if I can get a job at a nicer place. There're a few fancy, rich-snob bars in the newer areas of the city, I might appeal to them if I can make more of a name for myself. So we'll see. In less relevant news, I recently purchased a computer, and the internet's opening me up to the wonders of the stock market. I think I can make things work to my advantage. ~Lyrus

Quest! Quote: Unlike Maelon, Lyrus has a way with the ladies, it seems. Like in the story of a man who got a paperclip and traded it until he got a house, Lyrus is being given a paperclip. However, his goal is not a house, but to trade until he aquires a gift to give to give to any girl. One of his 'lady friends', perhaps?

Jeanemon It'd been a long day at work, one that had managed to make the onion Sin a little more psised than usual. Still in her work outfit (Which drew her no end of rude comments by various men), Mignon pushed her way into the bar. Maybe she'd luck out and she'd find a bartender that wouldn't care about a little thing like ID. Moofuls Luckily for Mignon, there just happened to be one such bartender on staff. Said bartender was one of two working that night, and, unlike the other, actually seemed to be enjoying being there. He kept up a constant banter of conversation with the small crowd around the end of the bar he was covering, and seemed to be playing some sort of game with them, winning several bets and earning himself a hefty pile of tips in the process. At a request from one of the women in the group, a laughing Lyrus pulled a glass from the rack and, to the amazement of his little crowd, began deftly weaving a pattern through the glass. It was only a simple pattern, but it did add a lovely flair to the glass, especially once it was filled with some brightly colored mixed beverage. Bets were finalized as he passed the glass over to the woman, and every eye in the little group fixed on the glass as she took a small sip...then shook her head in disbelief and laughed an 'It's perfect!' Lyrus, smirking, took a bow and gathered his winnings. "Who's next?" Jeanemon Mignon had watched the entire display, shaking her head. That boy knew how to use his talents, he did. "Well, Stud." She called, pushing her way through the crowd. "How about me?" Moofuls He knew that voice. He knew that face. He...liked that tightly-fitting shirt. "Mignon! You came to visit me." Lyrus gestured for the small crowd to make way for the girl, which they did with some reluctance, some amusement. "I'm up for a challenge. What'll it be, sweetheart?" Jeanemon Laughing, Mignon leaned against the bar, though she had to stand on her toes to not look like a child doing so. "Hmmm... A challenge? Fine. Why don you surprise me with something I like." She said, grinning. "You know what a fickle b***h I am." Moofuls "Fickle indeed." Nonetheless, his smirk remained. He caught her eyes for a long moment, then seemed to make a decision and went to work, pulling another glass down from the rack. This one he spent a bit more time on than the previous woman's, forming elegant patterns all down the glass and, when finished, signing the base with a flourish of one finger. Already bets were being placed. Into the decorated glass he poured portions of vodka, a melon liqueur, and pineapple juice, then added a few chunks of pineapple and a single cherry to top it off before passing the glass over to Mignon. "Try it. Tell me what you think." Jeanemon Giggling a bit at the bets, Mignon took the glass, admiring the work. Oh, my. Such a talent he had. She took a sip and tilted her head, raising an eyebrow. Hmmm... "Knew you knew me." She said, taking another drink and humming happily. Yay, fruity girly drinks~ Moofuls "And I win again." He seemed pleased, though he hadn't actually placed any bet himself that round. That didn't really matter. It was good just to see Mignon again. "What brings you to my corner of the city, Mignon? Were you really looking for me?" He liked to think so. He doubted it, but he liked to think so. Jeanemon Mig smiled, sipping her drink. "Had a not so fun day at work, and I thought to myself: Now, who could perk my mood up? And I remembered you lived around here, and I know you love to party, so, thought I might as well try my luck." She smiled at him over the drink. "Good seeing you again, stud." Moofuls Ah, so she was looking for him. Or claimed as much. That was enough for him. The little crowd seemed to realize that the show had ended for now and was beginning to taper off with their respective drinks. Lyrus, meanwhile, stole a glance down towards the other bartender before fixing himself a beer from the tap. "Good seeing you," he responded with a nod before taking a sip from his drink. "I'd been meaning to hunt you down, but I've been busy between here and my own shop... That should change soon, however. If I play my cards right." Jeanemon "Mmhm. Life gets in the way sometimes." Mig said, popping a chunk of pinapple in her mouth. "Your own shop, huh?" She asked, watching him with a little smile on her face. Moofuls "I didn't tell you about that?" He raised a brow, helping himself to another sip of his beer. He could take a short break to chat with a good friend. "Remember my apartment? I own the shop beneath it. It's not much, but it's an extra bit of income... Work there during the day, work here for evenings." Jeanemon "What I remember, we didn't do too much talking when I was at your place." Mignon grinned at him, reaching over to squeeze his arm. "But that sounds like something you'd be good at. Having a place of you own. You ever need any help, you call me. I can always drop by and give you a hand." Moofuls "True." His smirk returned with the memory, and he shifted his arm to take her hand instead, giving it a quick squeeze. "You'll have to come over some time so I can give you the grand tour. And I might take you up on that. This new place I might apply to, they open earlier. I doubt I'd be able to hold up the shop and that at the same time." He paused briefly, considering the idea, then seemed to come to some completely unrelated conclusion. Releasing her hand, he slipped his hand into his pocket and fished around, soon drawing out...a paper clip. A green paper clip, but a paper clip nontheless. He held it up for Mignon's inspection as if performing some magic trick, but rather than doing anything with it, called out over the music towards a few people who he recognized from his group of followers. "Oi, help me out a bit?" The trio seemed interested and migrated back his way, as if expecting the performance and betting to resume, but Lyrus simply held up the paper clip. "I'm taking trade offers on this one-of-a-kind, green, myself-touched paper clip. Best offer wins this marvelous paper-holding contraption and my undying gratitude." The trio seemed more amused than impressed by the offer, but Lyrus hadn't been aiming for complete seriousness. They also seemed to expect some sort of trick with the trade, almost as if the paper clip really were something special and were suddenly going to morph into a beautiful statue, just as the glasses did. Soon enough, one woman began digging through her purse, finally drawing out a flashy, decorated lighter with an incandescent lionfish on the side and holding it towards Lyrus. "How's this?" "Thank you, sweetheart." He plucked the lighter from her hand and passed over the paper clip, flipping the lighter on. The flame was green. Awesome. He glanced back to Mignon, quirking a brow, then towards the group again. "Okay, best offer for the lighter?" Jeanemon One eyebrow raised, Mignon watched Lyrus with a slightly amused smile on her face. She sipped her drink, giggling slightly at the flame. How interesting! Moofuls The girl who'd just made the trade seemed slightly put out that he was trying to pawn off her lighter, but the other two only laughed. The action around Lyrus's end of the bar seemed to be catching a few more eyes--again, probably expecting the drink game to resume--and Lyrus acted on the glances while he still had the chance. Holding the lighter high so that it could be seen over the heads of those nearest to him, Lyrus played up its important. "Ladies and gentlemen, I hold in my hand a custom-made, shimmery lighter with...and incandescent, spikey fish on the front! Now, for a limited time, with a green flame. Do I hear any bids?" Jeanemon Mignon watched him and giggled again. Silly people. Lyrus played the best kind of games! Moofuls The trades went on as the game grew, and more and more people hung around to see what would go where and watch what was offered. The lighter was passed off to a man in return for half of his remaining cigarettes, which were then traded to a woman who passed them out among her friends before handing Lyrus an attractive, but cheap bracelet. The bracelet was traded to a young woman in return for a package of condoms from her purse, and Lyrus, much to the crowd's amusement, snuck one from the box and into his back pocket before trading the package off to a man in return for his watch. A ring was offered up in trade for the wristwatch, and Lyrus gladly accepted the offer, admiring the piece of jewelry before holding it out to Mignon. The ring seemed to be about her size, and was crafted of a silver metal and set with a purple stone. It didn't appear to be particularly expensive (which was probably a good thing, considering the trades that had led up to it), but it was rather attractive, nothing that would break or tarnish quickly. "For you." Jeanemon She had watched the whole procedure with a grin on her face. Lyrus was a man who knew how to play a crowd, that was for sure. Hopefully it'd make him better at his chosen profession. However, when the ring that he got at the end was offered to her, Mignon was a bit surprised. She blinked once before grinning reaching out to accept it. "Why, thank you." She said, raising one eyebrow at him and smiling. Well. If that wasn't amusing and cute and somewhat capable of making her heart flutter. Moofuls An obnoxious 'D'awwww' went through the onlookers as the ring was offered Mignon's way, but Lyrus ignored it in favor of returning Mignon's smile. However, after a beat he looked up once more and spread his arms. "I'm afraid that's all I have for you, ladies and gentlemen, unless someone wants to donate something else for me to trade. If not...anyone care for a drink?" A laugh went through the small crowd, and a couple stepped forward to request their drinks. Lyrus went back to work, selling off decorated glasses and perfect drinks for above the normal price, and before long the betting game resumed as people tested the drinks he mixed for them, daring to challenge his surprising ability. Every so often he'd steal a glance off towards Mignon. He didn't like neglecting her, but he did have to work. And tips paid the bills. Jeanemon But it was something she understood. After all, she was a working girl on her own. It was nice to watch him and his talent, anyway. He looked good, too. Mmm, Lyrus. Moofuls The night progressed quickly, between the music, the drinks, and the games Lyrus struck up with his customers. Every so often Lyrus would mix up a new drink for Mignon, each one different, but just as suited to her taste, though he made a point of going with less and less alcohol. He didn't want her falling asleep at the bar or anything. In the early hours of the morning the crowd in the bar began to taper off, until only a few remained as 2 am and closing time neared. With his games at an end and only the occasional person approaching for a new drink, Lyrus began cleaning up his section of the bar and resumed his conversation with Mignon. "You've stayed out pretty late. Isn't it past your bed time?" He grinned. Jeanemon Lyrus was very thoughtful, and Mig had developed a little more alcohol tolerance by this time. She'd watched the crowds in amusement all through the night, and was surprised when it turned out to be so late. "Psh." Mignon laughed, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "I'm short, but I'll take you over my knee if you're not nice, young man. I still remember when you were in diapers." Ah, memories. Moofuls "Don't remind me." Lyrus wrinkled his nose at the image and shook his head, returning his focus to his work. There wasn't much to be done at the bar itself, just neaten up the bottles, put away whatever bits of fruit were left, and wipe down everything. The DJ used a pause in the music to thank the remaining guests for coming and warn that the bar would be closing in five, and a couple of other staff members began clearing styrofoam cups and other trash from unoccupied tables. All of Lyrus's decorated glasses had been taken home. "Good times, though. You, me, and Kilah. It's kind of a shame we can't go back to that." Jeanemon "It is." Oh, those were somewhat simpler days. Good ones, though. The world had seemed so much bigger then.... "Memories." Mignon sighed, reaching over a hand to pat at his arm. "But look at us now, huh? Both of us started out pudgy and bald, and grew up to be smokin' things." Moofuls He laughed. "As long as I don't go back to being pudgy and bald. That's all I ask. But we have both done well." Pausing, he quirked a brow her way. "And you're doing better every time I see you. Your shirt tells me you've got a job somewhere?" Jeanemon Looking at her shirt, Mignon laughed. "Yup. Waitressing is fun. I like it. Get good tips, just gotta watch out for the disgusting old men who try to grab my a**." Moofuls "Well, I'll have to visit often and defend you from disgusting old men. That a** is only to be grabbed by me." He grinned and ducked behind the counter to put away a few more bottles just as the music came to an end and the DJ announced that the bar was officially closed. However, before Mignon could go, Lyrus reappeared. "Hang around for a bit. You're with me, they won't make you leave. It doesn't take long to close." Jeanemon "All right." Mig smiled, leaning against the bar, looking around. Huh. Was different when people were leaving... "And you can come visit me any time, Stud. You're better looking than any man I've seen come to my work. Must be that sexy gray skin of yours." Moofuls "Ah, but that's because men of my caliber don't have to go looking for tight shirts and short shorts. They come to us." He swept a hand in Mignon's direction, as if verifying his statement simply by her being there, but flashed a grin to show that he was joking and nodded to her glass. "You want anything else before I start locking up?" Around the bar, tables were being wiped down and chairs were being placed atop them. Someone had already begun sweeping. It wouldn't be long before the place was...surprisingly clean, for a bar. Jeanemon Shaking her head, Mignon picked up her glass, wrapping it in a scarf and tucking it in her purse. "Just this." She said, grinning. "Good to see you put your talents all to good use." Moofuls He shrugged and, the counter cleaned, poured out the cup that had been housing his tips and began sorting through it, counting and folding bills. "I made a deal with the owner. Normally they sell drinks in styrofoam cups, but I got him to start purchasing larger glasses. He buys them cheap, I custom decorate them and sell them for ten times the amount. It's pricey, but plenty of people go for it. Just have to play the crowd." Again he shrugged. "I'm trying to perfect my 'act' so I can get out of this dump. This place is fun, but it's no where I want to stay forever." Jeanemon "Understandable." Mignon fluffed her hair up. "Waitressing isn't what I want to do with my life, but it pays the bills until I find out what it is I'm made for." "Your place, though, will be amazing. I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of my time there." Moofuls "Yeah. Bills." He wrinkled his nose, then shook off the thought, pocketing his money and quickly locking up the cabinets. Glancing up, he offered Mignon a smile and started out from behind the bar. "I can't run it myself. Maybe you can help me out with it." He paused, sending a wave the direction of the other bartender, then gestured Mignon towards the door. "C'mon, we're done here." Jeanemon Mig grinned at him, wrapping one of her arms around his. "You ever need me, you just ask, Stud. You know I'll help you out." Oh, she would. Silly Miggy liked Lyrus for more reasons than his pretty, after all. She was a loyal little floozy. Moofuls Lyrus flashed her a grin in reply, pausing at the door to unlock it for them both, then steering her down the street in no particular direction. Someone would lock it behind them. "It won't be long, though. I've got a plan. And, if it works as well as things have been working, I'm going to make some serious money pretty quickly. I just...have to get the job in the first place. And I'm worried that they won't hire me." Jeanemon Looking up at him, Mignon smiled and stood on her tip toes, giving him a kiss to the cheek. "Psh. They'd be fools not to hire you, Lyr. You're gorgeous and talented. That's a pretty hard combo to find, yenno." Moofuls He smiled, but it faded quickly. "But I'm young," he pointed out. "And..." He wasn't sure how else to define himself, but instead gestured vaguely to his appearance. It wasn't typically something that mattered much on Gaia, but this place was known for being snobby. "I don't know. I'm going to have to seriously impress them, somehow." Jeanemon "Well, if you need help with looking expecially dapper, my good man, I can try my magic. You know me. Good fashion sense." Mignon watched him, head tilted to one side. "I'll help you in any way I can, Lyrus. You know I got your back, right?" Moofuls He laughed, but freed his arm from hers to instead loop it around her shoulders. "I'll hold you to that. But in all seriousness, thanks Miggy." Lyrus sent her a smile and gave her a quick squeeze, then looked up and the moment was over. "So, any plans for tonight? Just about everywhere's going to be closed by now, I'm afraid." Jeanemon Awww. Warm fuzzies. They were there. "Mmmm, not really. I have tomorrow off, in any case." Mignon said, giving him a squeeze around the middle. "So... It's go home or follow you." Moofuls "I have a few movies at home." He glanced down to her and quirked a brow. "Maybe we can find something entertaining?" Cue smirk. Jeanemon Oh, silly Lyrus. "Mmm. Movies do sound entertaining." Mignon said, giving him a squeeze. "I'm sure we'll find some way to entertain ourselves." Moofuls "Movies it is, then." Grinning, he altered their direction to head back towards his apartment. It wasn't a long walk by any means. He only lived a few blocks from the bar. Upon reaching the shop, he led her around to the back stairway instead of entering through the shop, leading the way upstairs to the apartment and unlocking the door for her to enter. It was mostly unchanged from the last time she had visited, though he seemed to have replaced a bit of the furniture, or at least cleaned it up a great deal. "Home sweet home." He rolled his eyes and turned to lock the door behind them, then led the way over towards the couch, shooing a dragon...dog...ram thing off of it before flopping down with a sigh. The dragon something, which stood nearly as high as Lyrus's hip, seemed to glare his way before hopping instead on a thick armchair and glancing towards Mignon. Jeanemon "Nice, Lyrus." And the place was nicer, now that she was seeing it sober and without a hangover. She sat down on the couch, looking towards the Dog-thing. "When'd you get that?" She asked, watching it. Weird. Moofuls The ram-dragon snorted at being called a 'thing', winning a lazy chuckle from Lyrus. "That's Dominic. He comes and goes. I ran into him shortly after I got dumped down here. We help each other out." Jeanemon "Huh. Neat. S'cute." In an odd kind of way. But she did have a taste for odd pets herself. "Couldn't picture you sharing your space with anyone or anything, though." Moofuls Lyrus shrugged. "He's no trouble, and he was a big help before I grew. And, like I said, he comes and goes. I'm not sure how he gets in and out, but he does. It's like...having a roommate who doesn't nag and doesn't destroy the place." He laughed. "I wouldn't mind having a roommate, honestly. Maybe I can kidnap Jan or something." Jeanemon "Mm, Jan would be a good roomie." Mig agreed. "She wouldn't cramp your style at least." Moofuls "That's kind of what I was thinking. I haven't seen her in a while, though." He paused, then shrugged. "Anyway, movie." Climbing to his feet, he stepped over to the TV and crouched to dig through the cabinet beneath it. "Anything you've been meaning to see? I might have it." Ability Quest! Amakusa_Shu DOUBLE QUESTS (ABILITY AND AFF/AV)
Lyrus Lyrus, you've been working as a barkeeper for quite some time now, and things have been relatively peaceful. Recently, however, some shady folk have been frequenting your bar. They haven't done anything yet, and so you have left them alone. Tonight, one of them decides to start a fight with one of your regular patrons. Describe how you handle the situation, and what measures you talk.
--------------------------------------------------
For anyone who is curious why so many quests have been popping up recently, it is because we're actually behind on the required quest number for the majority of the kids. I'm playing catch up, and these quests don't have to be completed in any rush. Feel free to take your time on them. <3

Ability Quest! Chibi Sheepcat DOUBLE QUESTS Well Lyrus, that was definitely an interesting way to get rid of some meddlesome people. Here's to hoping that you get a better bouncer in the future. You've been working as a bartender for quite some time now, but how much of the stuff you make do you actually drink? Not too much, I'd assume. You need to spend a day a bartending class, and try at least five new kinds of drinks, preferably with alcohol. It's my fault if you get drunk.
