Lyrus as I first received him <3 <3 Adorable little baby, even if he is a prat.

User Image
Lyrus has grown into a handsome little toddler with a love for....glass and violence. Yerch. The markings on his arm have spread to his face, and his horn has grown a bit, but no hair yet >.>

User Image
He's taller, and he has hair! In all honesty...not much else has changed. He's still a little prat. Though less prone to randomly stabbing people, I guess.

User Image
He's tall! He's tall and...far too innocent in this picture, hmm. Don't trust him, take my word on it. It's all an act. That shirt he's wearing about sums him up, yup.

Name: Lyrus

Nickname: None.

Age: Teen

Gender: Male

Element: Lamb

Job: Bartender

Eyes: Dark, dark blue.

Skin: Soft, light-ish gray

Hair: Dark blue and shaggy; Lyrus cares about it a bit more than he used to, but, unless he's working, generally keeps it neat only when a mirror reminds him to.

Distinguishing markings: A single golden horn to the left side of his head, as if there should be a pair, but the right is missing. Also, markings the color of his eyes along his arm and, now, his face.

Likes: Any and all glass, knives, sex, alcohol, free fall, his horn, anything elegant and valuable, sex, women, Banda, silk, the sky.

Dislikes: Loud noises, being yelled at, having his glass break, messes, most of his family, conspiracies.

Personality: Varies considerably with mood and who he's around. His personality fluctuates wildly from being malicious and crude, egotistical and vain, to being fairly good-natured and even generous, depending, mainly, on the person. He will resort to violence with hardly any provocation, and takes no pains in seeing others hurt, unless said other is a good friend of his. He is very loyal to his friends and always ready to help them in any way possible. If you are not a friend...don't even bother to ask.

Abilities: Can make all glass items appear beautiful. This includes such things as altering the general appearance of the glass, as well as piecing discarded shards back together to form some lovely new decoration. Lyrus can also memorize and perfectly mix any drink he comes across, can alter the flavor of any liquid to a flavor he has tasted before, and can read someone's intent/intentions by casual conversation. Sort of an empathic ability.

Affinities: Lyrus has an affinity for small talk/light conversation.

Aversions: Lyrus absolutely cannot stand messes/anything messy. Complete neat freak. Except when it comes to his hair. He also has an aversion to conflict. It must be stopped. It pisses him off.

Moo -- The Almighty Moofuls, resident 'mom', though no one refers to her as such. Somewhat eccentric inventor/mechanic, as well as pilot and co-owner/manager of the Jivvin Center. Cheerful to the point of annoying, rather naive at times, snaps from optimist to pessimist and back at the bat of an eye. No one's really sure where she came from, or ever what her real name is.

Pod -- K'podron Van Quil, to be precise, though absolutely no one calls him that, because it usually sends people into a fit of giggles. Pod showed up at Moo's house only recently and seems to know her from a while back.. But exactly how or why, both of them refuse to say. How odd. Pod's happy-go-lucky, always joking around, flirts with everyone and steals from them when their backs are turned.

Jack -- Moo's eldest 'son', as well as the oldest of the bonded Jivvins. Once arrogant, vulgar and rude, he's mellowed out quite a bit since giving up alcohol and is very much the family man, completely devoted to his to-be wife and children. Once Uuthli, now deprived of rank, on shaky terms with the Survivers, but working towards their good sides. Has twin sons, Dariusz and Zachariasz, a daughter, Anastazja, and is engaged to Xbear.

Isto -- One and only metal-armed Skullmonkey, younger than Jack by less than a week. Ignored and excluded throughout his childhood (due to, he thought, his arm), nearly committed suicide, saved by a chance meeting. Later fell in love and married his 'rescuer'. Has one blood-child (Kailee), a few adopted (Faust, Violet, L'aven, Cody, and two on the way xD; ), and is married to Slush.

Banda -- Another Skullmonkey, Moo adopted him when he was abandoned by his previous owner. Completely deaf due to an accident in infancy, and talks a bit funny at times becaue of it; reads lips. Extremely sweet and good-natured despite his situation, very patient and rarely angry over anything. Paints in watercolors, and plays part-time guardian of Lyrus.

User Image

Scion -- Moo's second Jivvin, a Daewl. Creepy little blighter. very stand-offish, cool, calculating. Quiet, cunning, generally avoids the English language as much as possible, speaking in something loosely related to Drow. First through the Future Door, first to survive the Fifth Floor. Specializes in Illusion. Sometimes goes by Asios.

Kama -- Newest Jivvin addition to the family, adopted when previous owner abandoned him. Arrogant, sly, not bothered in the least by his abandonment. Still getting to know him, and vice versa. Olplyn.

Tia -- One of the newer family members, Tia is some kind of little tea fae...thing. She's incrediably sweet and always offering to help out, but also often...very, very hyper due to her habit of drinking only over-sugered raspberry tea. She and Acia are like two peas in a pod...and near the same height, as well. Cool beans.

Tayn -- Tayn is.. a Cortlin. A fuzzy purple bear Cortlin who always, always wears a tutu. Tayn has no regard for peoples personal spaces, and is far too affectionate for his own good. Often the butt of many 'fruit' jokes...which only makes things more amusing when you're see him. He means well, though <3

Acia -- Mini, overly eccentric Moo. Sugar glider Velveteen, chemist, pilot, mechanic, has the abilities to manipulate the wind and electricity. Extremely friendly and optimistic, easily offended but quick to forgive and forget. Spends most of her time in her labs working on various projects, but often comes out to entertain the younger 'siblings' while Moo is working.

User Image

Jaxom -- A Guardian child, self proclaimed leader of the 'second generation' at Moo's household, meaning the children from his age and down. Jax is a born leader, and a good one at that, always working towards the wellbeing of himself and his 'followers' without flattening everyone else. A sweet kid, sometimes a bit too haughty for his own good. He had a black cat 'guardian' that keeps him in line.

Adroi -- Wonambi (type of Australian snake) Boundless, still rather young. Adroi is very, very quiet--he's only ever spoken once, and otherwise only hisses softly on occasion--and terribly independent, preferring his own company to that of anyone else. Despite his young age and lack of legs, Adroi has already worked out almost all of the secrets to Moo's house, and will frequently vanish for days at a time...but always returns occasionally for a good snuggle.

Lyrus -- The household's resident villian, Lyrus will only like you if you happen to meet him on a good day and quickly win him over. Lyrus doe snot like people, particularly happy ones, and is more often seen in the company of his firelizard or cera. This antisocial child has a horrible temper, is quick to place any blame of other people, and threatens and bullies frequently. He has abilities centering around glass, and has no qualms with using them against people.

Coen -- Coen is adorable. Just adorable through and through. The baby of the house, Coen spends most of his time hovering along behind people and babbling as much as possible to them in babytalk. He takes any distress to others as a personal harm to himself, and the slightest harsh word or mood will set him crying and trying to make people happy again.

Miire -- Miire is Acia's lab partner, a Dralaxy whose abilities center around the element mercury and the manipulation of various metals. Despite her young age and tiny size (only 4 inches), she's extremely sarcastic and snappy, easily offended and angered when she doesn't get her way.

Lenta -- A spunky, bipolar girl with a tail and ears. She's got several children, and lives at the Jivvin House with Moo. Lenta's odd, to say the least; however, she's dedicated to the upbringing of her 'children', and is friendly to most everyone. (Desc by Lenta)

Mauli -- Skull Monkey Piratess, Extraordinare. Mauli's all about pirates, action... and cute guys. She had a bit of an, er, accident with Isto, that resulted in Kailee... However, she seems to have forgiven him, for the most part. She has angry spurts from time to time, but is quick to come back and ask for forgiveness. (Desc by Lenta)

Kailee -- A quiet, shy Skull Monkey. Daughter of Isto and Mauli. She's got no idea that Isto's her father; as far as she knows, Mauli got her for a song at a bar near the docks. Kailee is NOT a pirate like her mother. She enjoys cooking, building, and reading. (Desc by Lenta)

Akilah - One of Lyrus' best friends, the 'Dark Side' of the force, as it were. She and Lyrus get along absolutely wonderfully ('Cept for the incident with the glass flower)--she encourages his violence, while he, in turn, loves her manipulation skills. Lyrus is the only non-bird in her mafia, and has been promised a high position ;D <3

Mignon - Lyrus' other best friend, the 'Light Side' that keeps him from doing random acts of violence. Mignon is an absolute sweetheart, and the only person who can convince Lyrus that things are bad. (She also managed to convince him that Kilah didn't hate him, which led to him apologizing and once again being Kilah's friend <3)

Anisia - Coming Soon <3

Yukito - Lyrus was a bit wary when he first met Yukito, due to Kilah's dislike for him, but the lamb Sin quickly grew to like the dragon. Yuki fixed Lyrus' hand, and now Lyrus considers them pretty good friends <3 Something that's already caused arguments with Kilah...

Aard - Lyrus has seen Aard only twice, but developed his opinion from the first and stuck fast. Lyrus thinks he's stupid, and gullible, and not at all a threat, but fun to pick on. More amusing that worth getting angry over.

An extra from Lyrus' ability quest, a treat he picked out especially for himself, it is a simply glass raindrop-shaped pendant that Lyrus now wears on a cord around his neck, though it is usually hidden under his shirt.

Lyrus' 'Treasure' box, a favored item from his toddler quest. In it he keeps anything and everythings that a) is pretty and her treasures or b) is small enough to fit. At present, this includes (in order): A feather from (baby)Kilah, a feather from (toddler) Kilah, a feather from Gizmo, a ruby from Ancelin, a small peacock feather, a red feather, a blue feather, and six glass 'candies'.

This box remains, for the most part, safely hidden under Lyrus's bed, coated in a fine layer of dust. Lyrus and Adroi found it on one of their explorations of the House, and Lyrus now uses it to hold...anything he could get in trouble for having. At present, it is home to: his dagger from Kilah.
User Image
User Image
Lyrus' glass 'pens', which he uses both to write (they can be filled with ink--colored) and to draw on glass with. He claims the different colors make it easier for him to color the actual designs on the glass...So whatever works.

Lyrus' cera, Task, a gift from Kilah back when he was still a baby <3 Task's a lazy little ball of fluff who spends the majority of his time napping, but seems to be getting a bit more active as he ages... We'll see.

Vin is Lyrus' firelizard, or flit for short. Moo turned up with a clutch of three eggs after one of her trips, and gave an egg each to Lyrus, Coen, and Adroi, who didn't have them yet. Lyrus' hatched into a bronze, and now he claims bragging rights. Vin is Lyrus' loyal follower, and almost always is only a thought away...

First Ability Quest
Ability Quest!

Lyrus has had much interaction by this point, and something in him seems just aching to get out. But before that, the boy must find ten things made of glass. They can be of any size or shape, but they must be completely made of glass.
1-Glass candies
2-Glass marbles
3-Glass eggs
4-Glass boat (On glass water ;D)
5-Glass duck...bird...thing o_O
6-Glass pens
7-Glass...chile peppers? o_O
8-Glass rose
9-Glass lamp
10-Glass koi table
11-Blown glass fan
12-Glass hanging vases
13-Blown glass oil lamps
14-Blown glass ship
15-Glass flying pig
16-Glass sphere lamps
17-Fancy glasses
18-Mini glass vases
19-Glass bowl
20-Glass apples

Ability gained!

Lyrus seemed to greatly admire the glass objects he obtained, and now that has awakened the ability that once slept inside him. Now he can: Make all glass objects appear beautiful.

Toddler Quest!
Toddler Quest!

It is time for Lyrus to grow! Or so says his body, anyway. It is just aching to grow, and so you will need to find the boy a few things. Find him five feathers of varying colors, and a box to keep them in.
1-Sky blue feather
2-Red macaw feather
3-Green peacock feather
4-Brown feather, one of Kilah's
5-Black feather, one of Gizmo's
6-Glass box to keep feathers in <3
Second box from Lenta, just in case >.>

"A-Akilah!"

The call did no good. The toddler zoomed down the road fast enough to rival a baby cheetah. Well, maybe not,but Noyama thought so as she tried desperately to catch up with her. Lyrus was going to grow! And what was better? She could help! Feathers were certainly something she had in stock, and she'd even pulled out one of her good ones. It had hurt her arm bad,but she quickly forgot about it.

Mostly because her other arm had suffered more when Gizmo had clawed her. The griffon was loyal to no end,but pulling his feathers out was NOT a welcomed thought. Kilah had accused him of being a baby, and wrestled the stupid thing to the ground, pulled one of his feathers out and ran. In the struggle though she'd gotten a nice scratch, but right now it hardly mattered.

She decided against knocking, and set the note by the door. The two feathers were taped to the paper. Kilah hadn't written it,of course, but she had told Lucky to write, and Lucky said she copied it word from word.

Dear Lyrus,

I can't wait for you to get big! You'll be able to walk, and talk better! We can beat up Aard and you can learn to read just like me so we can both read better then Flitch! Maybe I'll teach you to read the way I have to. Grow soon!

-Akilah

-------------------------------------------

Lyrus received another quest! I'm not sure what it's for yet, but we've done everything it said, so we should find out soon enough. See, I found this piece of paper from Chaco (again), and it said Lyrus needed to find five feathers of different colors and something to keep them in.

Almost immediately afterwards, I found a note (from Kilah) and two feathers taped to the door. Apparently news travels fast. But no worries <3 Two less feathers we had to find, after all. And it meant all the more to Lyrus that Kilah had given them to him. But we still needed three more, and the box.

So we went to the zoo! Where better, after all? So many different kinds of animals (specifically birds), so we were bound to find the feathers we needed. Which we did! Lyrus snatched a red one off a macaw (The bird was furious, I tell you.), and chased after a peacock to pull off one of it's tail feathers.

Poor birds. I didn't think he would pull feathers off live ones! I thought we could just find some lying around... Which we did for the last. It was a nice blue shade, and Lyrus found it on the ground near the lion cages, of all places. He seemed to really like the lions. I'm not sure if that's a good thing.

Aside from finding feathers, Lyrus adored the trip. Not because he got to see so many animals, but...well...because he got to make fun of them. Which he did. Especially the monkeys. He just sat infront of their cage and made faces at them. They didn't much appreciate that...

On our way out, we stopped in the gift shop and found a box for him to keep the feathers in. It's glass (which he loves), and has a stained-glass hummingbird on the cover, which I thought was appropriate considering the feathers. Ahh, I do spoil him so...

We've only just gotten home, but he still hasn't put the feathers up. Actually, I think he's arranging them all in the box right now. he's so proud of his new collection. Feathers and glass. Who would have thought?

---Moo

Moofuls
Lyrus is a Toddler!

Lyrus has now become a toddler! ...But he has no hair. His horn seems to have grown, however, and the darm sigil-like pattern that was on his arm seems to have expanded to his face. Amaaazing. Or something like that.

Aversion Quest
Quote:
Lyrus: Affinity/Aversion Quest!

It is time for Lyrus to gain his first affinity or aversion! However, in order for it to awaken, he must be taken to a circus for the day. There is one currently being held in the town over, and all expenses associated with the trip shall be paid for by Aileen Shiroko.

Looking completely confused and altogether out of place, Moo blinked down at the tiny slip of paper, then back up to the spot on the door she had found it. Paper, door, paper, door. Finally stepping back, she closed the door and turned for the kitchen with a whirl of her 17th century gown, carefully folding the paper as she walked. "Witch man? Oh, what was your name... Isto? I''ve found a note!" She stepped into the kitchen positively beaming with pride, and daintily handed the tiny note to the mohawked SM. "Which one''s Lyrus again?"

Isto didn''t bother to grace her with a reply. With Moo as she was now, she probably wouldn''t have listened anyway. Instead, he straightened up in his chair and unfolded the paper, blinking twice to clear his sleep-deprived eyes before skimming through it. Crap. Sighing, Isto reluctantly climbed to his feet and edged around his ''mother'' towards the counter to fix himself a cup of coffee. Maybe that would help. "Did you find any money with this, M-" he paused at a glare from the woman, rolling his eyes and correcting himself. "Saoni?"

"Money, money... I''ll check again," she cheerfuly announced and bustled off towards the front door.

Rolling his eyes, Isto poured himself a mug of coffee. Really, this was getting ridiculous...

Rai, fortunately, knocked on the door at just that moment. After no response, she called, "Helloooo?" at the door, expecting it perhaps to suddenly develop lips and greet her back. Lex, meanwhile, was standing by her, forced into a blue shirt and dark blue pants and little mini-chucks, glaring sourly at the door. She was gripping his hand. Ew. Over-protective lady thing. Why where they here anyways?

He spotted a daisy and immediately yanked down on her hand, tearing away and diving at the flower. Azurai sighed, knowing she would have to convince Tifa to do his laundry again that night. What a pleasant thought.

The door swung open even as Rai's 'hello' was fading, and Moo appeared in the open space looking as confused as ever. She blinekd curiously at this familiar-yet-not-so-familiar person, and finally remembered her mission and stepped aside, gesturing Rai and Lex inside and towards the kitchen. "The witch will know you. Hurry up, hurry up, I haven't got time to chat. I have to find the money." She smiled.

"...Money? Wait, what witch? Since when do you have a witch?" she said, following where Moo gestured warily, glancing back over her shoulder. "And what are you wearing...?" She stopped. "OHcrapLex," she said, and ran back out the door, scooping him out of the bushes and stepping back through the door. She blinked at Moo.

"Um...where's Isto?"

Nodding absently, Moo stepped past them and out the door, quickly surveying the immediate area around it and, when that turned up clear, hefting her flowing skirts and trotting down the steps to check the grass. With Rai's continued questions, she sighed heavily and gestured once more in the general direction of the kitchen. "You know, the witch man. You just said it...Isto, aye? Yes, him. He's in the kitchen. Shoo shoo, he'll know you. I certainly haven't the faintest..." She paused and straightened up, sighing softly. "That's been happening quite often lately..."

...

"Oh well!" And off again with the search.

"Moo...?" she murmured, glancing worriedly after her flowing skirt. Rai placed Lex back on the ground and studied Moo for a moment as she left. What an odd get-up...Isto might know. But why did she call him witch-man? Isto certainly didn't know any magic, and he was certainly male. Rai shook her head and took off her glasses, breathing on them and wiping them on the hem of her kelt. She glanced up and saw Lex glaring up at her from the ground.

"Oh, right," she said, and headed towards the kitchen. "Istoooo?" she called.

Out on the lawn, Moo grimaced and chose to ignore Rai's questioning voice. That 'Moo' title again! Who was Moo? And why would someone call themselves the sound a cow made? Really, this place was so very confusing... but at least Pod was still here. Pod and that witch man.. They were nice enough.

Isto was half way through his mug of coffee when he heard Rai and peeked through the door towards the entrance hall. Upon recognizing her, he grinned faintly and gestured for her to join him before reurning to the table and taking a seat, setting his mug down with a yawn. "Hey Rai, good to see you again... How've you been lately?"

"Um, fine," Rai murmured half to herself, sitting Lex down on her lap as she sat down across from Isto. "But what''s up with Moo? She''s acting, um...crazy," she said, adjusting her slipping glasses while struggling to sit Lex still in her lap with one hand.

"Grr!" he groaned as he struggled against her hand. She sighed, glancing helplessly at Isto.

"Do you mind if he explores? Little demon won''t sit still anymore," she said, nearly falling off her chair in an attempt to keep him in her lap.

"She''s perfectly sane," Isto assured her, then paused and took another sip of coffee. Ahh, how to explain this... Isto had learned a lot the past few days that he would have rather gone without knowing. His own last name, for one. "She had a little accident in the lab, and has a mild case of amnesia... Basically, her mind''s gone back to where it was before she came here. She doesn''t remember anyone or anything from after then, and only trusts me because Pod assured her that I''m a good witch." Again he paused, chuckling softly, then added, "And she thinks I''m a witch because I''m gay and have a mohawk and metal arm."

And that was that. Glancing down to Lex, he quirked a brow and nodded, gesturing in the general direction of the living room. "Moo''s shorties are hanging around in there, I think. He''ll find someone to play with." There was a wide selection to choose from, after all.

Azurai released Lex from her grip, where he jumped from her lap and landed, racing towards the living room. But he skidded to a halt quickly next to Isto, staring wide-eyed at his arm. His mouth dropped open in amazement.

"Lex!" Rai hissed, glaring menacingly. She pointed a finger towards the living room, and Lex ran away to the living room, fearing the wrath of his mother. She brushed a lock of azure hair back behind her ear. "Sorry. He doesn't know how rude that is," she said with a dry chuckle. "Anyways, what do you mean, 'before she came here'?"

Isto was far too used to people staring to take any offense. Besides, little kids stared. It was what they did. It only annoyed him when adults stared and then pretended not to be. He chuckled softly as the boy ran off and waved away Rai's apology, in far too good a mood to be upset by something so small. Coffee was really helping. Mmm. "Moo being like this has cleared up a lot of things about who she is... For one, I know her name now. Saoni Karrn. Her family owned this House during the 17th century. Or, rather, the castle that used to stand here.."

He glanced almost curiously around the kitchen, then back to Rai with a grin. "She accidently came forward a while back and 'inherited' this house and the surrounding area from someone who was really some lots-of-greats nephew. Gradually came to learn everything and settled down to be a 'normal' person. And now...well, she doesn't remember any of that. I've learned most of it from Pod. I'm still not sure how he knows her..."

"Pod..." she repeated, studying the tablecloth as she thought. Rai grimaced. Without Moo-...Saoni to run the house, Isto must've been having a hard time. Poor guy. She thought she had it rough...Isto even had a baby on the way and he had to spend time with someone who was settled into a 17th century identity.

"How you holding up?" she asked, snapping out of her trance. "Isn't there anyone else who can run the house? I mean, I thought Slush was, uh, pregnant?" She laughed nervously. She wasn't sure what she could call it...pregnant worked. "It seems like a lot of work when you've already got stuff going on at home," Rai said, absently eyeing his coffee.

"I haven't slept in," he paused, counting quickly on his fingers, and just as quickly giving up. "Umm...much longer than I should go without, except for the occasional quick naps when I can sneak them. But it's not all Moo," he quickly added, almost as if he needed to reassure himself. "I've been working, and Cody and L'aven are here, and Slush is busy with the GMFC egg, and, well, it's just so much..." His smile faded somewhat, but he then gestured to his coffee mug, cracking a grin. "I'm coping." Ahaha, lie.

"And before you tell me I'm doing to much, you're right, but it's not like I can change that. Sao-Moo kicked Banda out as soon as she snapped. I haven't seen Kama or Scion for days, Jack's off dealing with the Wilds... There's no one else to watch the shorties, you know? And I don't need a lot of sleep.. So it works, really. Not like we have much choice." And then there was the Pod guy, but to be honest...Well, Isto didn't trust him with the family.

Rai snorted as he guessed exactly what she was going to say, however she listened with a quirked brow. So the Jivvins were off on their own, the nice one was gone, and all the babies were stuck with poor Isto. A frown creased her brow as he finished.

"Well, you should've called me, silly!" she said, and stopped. Since when do I say silly...? she thought. It must've been she was curbing the insults around Lex. She shuddered briefly, and met Isto's eyes again. "I'd be happy to take one or some of the kids out somewhere for a while, give you a chance to take a break. After all, you can't hold up on all work and no play forever. You go crazy," she said with a grin, immediately thinking of the Shining. Surprisingly she loved that movie. Weird... "I could even do it today, if you need it," she added, not wanting to back out if he asked her anything. She was always happy to help with the Moo-Saoni household.

"I...hadn't thought of that," he admitted, blinking. He hesitated, then nodded slightly, staring past her as if he had completely forgotten she was there. "That...would really, really help. Actually," and here he snapped back to reality, blinking hopefully at Rai. "Lyrus just got one of his quest things. Normally Banda would bring him, but Banda's missing... Could you take him? It's just to the circus, I'm sure your shorty'd have fun too.." Just having Lyrus out of the house would make things so much easier... Moo's other shorties got along wonderfully, and they were distracting Cody, so maybe Isto could sneak in another hour or so of sleep...

Rai beamed. "Sure! I'd love to get Lex some social contact. God, the little thing would sit in his room dialing a radio all day if he could, anti-social little devil," she said, chuckling and shaking her head. "But I'd love to! I'm not much for clowns, but I'm sure Lex will be. Maybe it'll put him out of his permanently grumpy mood, too." She thought it over for a moment.

"Yeah, it'll work. Should I take him now, or wait 'til later?" she asked. She assumed now, but she didn't want to swoop in and scoop up Moo's kid when she wasn't supposed to...whatever.

Isto sighed in relief and sunk back in his chair, absently helping himself to anothr long sip of coffee before replying. "You've no idea how much of a help this'll be. Take him whenever, bring hi back whenever... We're not going anywhere today. Moo's calmed down a bit, so I'm going to try and sneak in a nap."

He cracked a smiled, then blinked and climbed to his feet, starting for the front door. "There was supposed to be some money.. the note said the trip would be paid for, you see. Moo's looking for it now. Lemme check.."

Rai held up her hands. "No need to go searching for it. I can pay for it, no problem," she said, waving away the offer of money, even if it had been supplied for the quest. "You just go ahead and rest, okay? Don't do anything for like, the next 10 hours...or until I get back. Whichever comes first," she said with a grin, saluting him quickly and traipsing off towards the living room, where she assumed Lex would be making...er, friends. Yes, friends.

Oh dear God, that little boy was a walking disaster zone. How had she raised something so bitter and cold? Well, his element was ice...he was bound to be a little...frigid. Da-dum tish! Rai chuckled to herself. Great, now she was joking herself...she was loonier than Moo...

Isto began to protest, but gave up almost immediately and merely replied with a quiet 'thanks', then headed outside to explain the situation to Moo before heading upstairs for a nap.

In the living room, Moo's shorties were doing their best to keep themselves--and Cody--amused, knowing all too well just how exhausted Isto was. Jaxom had taken command of the situation and was, at present, sitting in the middle of the room entertaining Lex, Coen and Cody with his rather annoyed looking kitten, Atear. Adroi was stretched out by a window napping, and Lyrus.. Well, Lyrus was curled up on one end of the couch, glaring daggers at the group on the floor and hardly bothering to look up when Rai arrived. Ahh, such a happy bunch.

Lex was indeed amused with Jax and Atear, which was unusual - he generally just enjoyed company other than that blue-haired thing that called him her son and ordered him around. Yuk. What was that thing? She was always being so...protective. She sucked. Badly. Oh God no, she was here again...hadn't she left? And she was coming towards him...AHH! Bad blue thing! Back! Back I say!!

"Lex, don't spit, y'camel," Rai growled as she scooped the kid up into her arms as soon as she saw him about to make a break for it and thus elude her by ducking under or breaking whatever was in his path. He wriggled to get out of her grip. "Oh please, you're not getting away," she chuckled as Lex growled at her from behind her arm which he was now gnawing on. She quirked a brow, but decided not to fuss. A little bruise didn't hurt.

"You!" Rai said, pointing a finger across at Lyrus. "C'mon, up, we're going," she said in a no-nonsense tone that Lex clearly recognized...it was very often that he found himself ignoring it. Oh, how he loathed this blue-haired thing. She was so...bossy. Ugh.

Jaxom was good like that. Shortlings were his minions, he had to know how to make them behave. And then Atear the talking kitten tended to captivate them... Yes, it was good.

Lyrus snapped from his daze with Rai's 'order', staring in disbelief over at the woman. She was bossing him around?! The crazy woman with the sparkly brat!? The idea was laughable. Not that Lyrus actually laughed. Instead, he slid off the couch and glared over at her from his position across the room, folding his arms across his chest. "Says who? And going where? I don't even know you! I can't just leave!"

"Says me, and you can and will," she said, putting Lex down by her side but still gripping his hand so he couldn't run away like he obviously wanted to do. "We're going to the Circus. C'mon, clowns, popcorn, it'll be fun," she said. Rai quickly glanced over at the little group of shorties over on the rug, and grinned at Jax. Why couldn't she have one that could amuse everyone like that? That would calm things down. Oh well.

"And you've got three seconds to come with me and leave Isto to get some rest before I come over there and get you myself. And it's much better for your image if you come willingly." Rai smiled sweetly. Lex at her side rolled his eyes, though she took no notice. He'd eventually roll them so much he'd need new ones was her theory, however far-out and derranged it was.

Lyrus considered a snappy reply, but soon decided against it, looking thoughtful. He had never even heard of a circus, or of a clown, for that matter. But popcorn was good, and it was somewhere to go that everyone else didn't get to. That alone reserved gloating rights for later. Nodding haughtily, he strode past Rai out of the living room and towards the door. "Let's go, then. Hurry up."

Rai chuckled dryly and stepped in front of the door, bending down to talk to him to get the full effect. "I'd prefer that you not use that tone," she said, smiling and nodding. With that, she straightened up and opened the door, gesturing a hand towards the walkway. "After you two. See ya later, Isto!" she called back into the house, nudging Lex out the door and letting Lyrus follow on his own. Rai would need to give him a little freedom, but show him who was boss. That kid needed a good kick in the pants, though, and she was aching to give him it.

Not her child, though. She'd let Moo do the pants-kicking when she stopped being Saoni and started being her lover again. Oh well. She could at least keep him in line for the afternoon. Then maybe if she would come to babysit later on he'd show her a little respect. With all this "wonderful" parenting she was doing, she was wondering why Lex had turned out the way he had. Odd...

"So?" Lyrus snapped back, quirking a brow. He would use whatever tone he wanted, thank you very much. This woman couldn't do a thing to him. She wasn't his 'mom'. Or his guardian or whatever Moo was. Not that Moo ever did anything to him either. Isto was pretty scary sometimes, though... but Isto was AWESOME so it was okay. This crazy woman, however, was most certainly not Isto.

The toddler was silent throughout the walk back to the edge of the forest, and even after during the ride to the circus, answering all of Rai's statements with short, snapped one-word sentances. But then, out the window, he saw first one enormous, colorful circus tent, then another, then something huge and gray with the LONGEST nose he had ever seen and--WOW, this was actually going to be cool! "This is it, right? Can we go in now? Hurry up and park!"

Rai chuckled. It was amazing how circuses could bring out the good in evil, little children. She glanced around. "Soon as I find a space..." she murmured have to herself, and spotted one, pulling in. She hopped out, opening the doors for both Lex and Lyrus, who hadn't said a word to one another the whole ride. Not unusual for two bad-tempered pompous little jerks, but, well, what can you do, huh?

"Alright, here's the deal," Rai said, pulling Lyrus and Lex over behind the car, folding her arms and staring down at the both of them. "It is very easy to get lost in here, so I do not want either of you wandering off. If one of you does, I will personally find you and kick the stuffing out of you. That counts for you too, Lyrus, I have your mother's and Isto's permish. You guys will stick with me. If you want something, just ask. Nicely," she said, eyeing Lex who once again rolled his eyes. She smiled. "Well, now that we understand eachother...let's go!" she said, brightening up as if she had never stared down at them and patronizingly set down strict ground rules. It was a circus, so she would be looser than she said, and probably be suckered into buying them a million things they didn't need, but that was what circuses were for. That and clowns. She had forgotten how she disliked clowns.

For the kids, right, this was for the kids.

Bwahaha, they were here. Lyrus was about to run off for the tent when Rai dragged him back behind the car. He glowered up at the woman as she laid down the rules, but didn't argue. There was no point in arguing when he could just break them without it. Instead he smiled far too innocently and simply nodded in reply, walking with her for the tent and utterly ignoring Lex. The little buttmunch didn't deserve to be acknowledged.

Lyrus was unusually silent while Azurai paid for their admission, and even walked patiently beside her while they found their seats. But all the while his eyes wandered the tent and crowd for any source of escape, or at least some kind of distraction. This circus thing looked to be pretty cool thus far, but it'd be even MORE awesome if he could go explore on his own without the crazy and sparkly ones.

Rai had her eye on the little grey one Lyrus. Lex was moody and usually wouldn't cooperate, but once he knew that disobedience=no cookies, most of the time he listened. Ocassionally he had fun, but he never let it show, lest Rai see that she was right. Crazy blue-haired lady. Who did she think she was? She was crazy. He glanced over at Lyrus, then looked back out at the circus. Why did the gray thing have to come along? He was always so...bratty. It even made Lex sick.

"I've got my eye on you, shorty," she said, giving Lyrus the eagle eye. Normally she would watch Lex carefully but eventually he'd just sit there and get so caught up in the show that he'd be too distracted to escape. But Lyrus wasn't her kid. If she lost him...not only would Moo never forgive her, but she'd never forgive herself. So she was not gonna look up from that little gray thing. Not once.

Lyrus couldn't have cared less, and promptly stuck his tongue out in reply, pulling a face at Rai. However, he was quickly distracted as lights lit up on the center ring, and any thoughts of 'escape' quickly left his mind as the ringmaster began to speak.

It was easily one of the coolest things Lyrus had ever been to in his life. There were acrobats, and jugglers, and huge animals he hadn't even heard of doing tricks. And there was a guy who breathed fire, and another who almost flew! And clowns who made Rai scream, and trapeze artists, and a lion tamer, and..and... It was SO cool!

Lyrus was completely captivated, eyes wide as he watched the proceedings, clapping and cheering at all the appropriate times, gasping in amazement witht he rest of the crowd with each new feat. With the final bow, he actually stood up on his seat to cheer, clapping frantically and already yelling about his favorite parts to Rai, who probably wasn't listening anyway.

The toddler was more than a bit upset when it ended, but the memories satisfied him enough that he didn't complain. On the way out, he managed to talk Rai into a souvenier--a small glass elephant, balanced on a stand much too small for it, purchased from the makeshift gift shop outside of the main tent.

The ride home was uneventful, and Isto was still asleep when they arrived. Lyrus immediately darted inside to brag to his brothers about the trip, and Jax was the one to thank Azurai and promise to watch out for the shorty until Isto woke up. After she had gone, he returned to the living room and listened just as eagerly as Adroi, Coen, and Cody while Lyrus recounted the 'adventure'--adding in a few bits of his own, just to make things more interesting, of course. Certainly a day he would remember for some time.

Quote:
Lyrus: Aversion Gained!

It seems as though Lyrus thoroughly enjoyed the circus! Well, who can blame him, really. What with all that juggling and acrobats and the animals and... Okay, okay, you get the point. Anyway, although the circus was thoroughly fun, something about the circus seemed... Well, dingy. Not run down, but... messy. It seems that now Lyrus has:

A dislike for messy areas.

Child Quest!

Lyrus: Kid Quest!

Well it's been a long time and many fights, but it is now time for Lyrus to grow again! So what does he need to do in order to accomplish this task? Why, he needs to gather these things: Three t-shirts of different colors, a backpack, a knife with a colored blade, and two items made of glass. Once he is in possession of these objects, he must organize them around his room so that they all seem to be in their proper 'places', however that may be.

Lyrus blinked slowly down at the scrap of parchment, eyeing it almost suspiciously. Another quest. Just like Chaco had said. But if he was getting another quest, that meant his last had done something and... He really wasn't broken. But according to that logic, this quest would be...

The boy frowned down at the paper, absently flipping it over, then over again to eye the list of items he would have to gather. At least it included glass and a knew knife.

Cool.

A split second later, the boy was sprinting for the kitchen, scrap of paper shoved protectively in his pocket. "Mo--...Whoever you are, c'mon, we have to go shopping NOW!"

Naturally, the boy had had his way. Sure, it had taken a bit of yelling, a few threats, and forcibly dragging Saoni!Moo for the door, but even with Moo's mind where it was, the woman couldn't resist shopping for long. A day in town had gradually turned up all the items; The t-shirts were easy, and Lyrus was pleased to note that they had scared Moo into nearly refusing to purchase them.

The bag came shortly afterward. Moo had had her heart set on a fuzzy pink one, but eventually gave in when her 'son' threatened to pin the ball of fluff to her hand with the dagger he was once again carrying around, now that he and Kilah were getting along again. They had decided on a black bag, more of a casual briefcase than bookbag, but hopefully it would do.

And then came Lyrus' favorite part of the day: glass and knives. It was all Lyrus could do to keep from demanding every glass item at the booth they found. But, he readoned, all that glass would clutter his room, and even glass wasn't worth that. Still, he had managed to talk his way into a set of shot glasses, elegant enough that he could use them for whatever the hell he felt like, and a small glass globe, more of a paperweight than anything, but lovely nonetheless.

And the knife. That had been difficult. A search of four different stores brought no results--the closest they had come was a black blade, and Moo wasn't entirely sure that counted, so they had gone without. However, a thorough search of a pawn shop had turned up a relatively new dark green knife, blade, handle and all. Lyrus was in love.

And now they were home, new belongings scattered around Lyrus' room, and the boy himself wasting time by admiring his new blade. However, memory of the quest and the faint annoyance of having bags all over his floor soon pulled Lyrus' attention back to his work. Where to begin...?

Shirts in the closet, first off. Lyrus was rather tempted to wear the green one, but it was far too large for him at present. All of the shirts his size had had stupid baby phrases. Lyrus would not stand that. A short internal debate told him that the bookbag could go in the closet as well--up on the shelf over his clothes.

It took Lyrus a full fifteen minutes to drag his table to the closet, set a chair on top of it, and convince himself that the glass wouldn't break if he climbed on them both. In addition, it took another five minutes for Lyrus to settle the bag on the shelf to his satisfaction. It just hadn't looked right before.

After carefully climbing down and returning his chair and table to their proper positions near the window, Lyrus turned his attention to the remaining three items cast atop his bed: the green knife, the glass globe, and the shot glasses.

Scooping up three of the glasses--one in each hand, the third held between them--Lyrus walked over to his shelves and carefully placed the trio on the nearest one, organizing them in a neat little triangle.

...No.

Picking them up again, he tried a different shelf, then another, and so on and so forth until he finally went back to the chair-on-table strategy, organizing all six glasses on one of the higher shelves until such time as he might need them for..whatever they were four. They were pretty glasses to be sure, but Lyrus had prettier ones for everyday use.

The glass globe was much easier to place. Once the table and chair had been returned to their postion for the second time, Lyrus carefully set the globe in the middle of the table, where a ray of light from the window slanted across and illuminated it. Perfect.

But the knife... As lovely as it was, it would be too much trouble for Lyrus to carry around two blades just yet. He argued with himself for a while, but finally decided on the usualy spot: the 'secret box' under his bed. It would be safest there. Meaning, of course, Jax wouldn't find it.

Crawling out from under the bed after replacing the box, Lyrus plopped down to sit on the edge, beaming proudly around his room. There.

Perfect.

Lyrus is a Kid!!!

Well, it looks like Lyrus has finally become a kid... with HAIR? Well, it seems as though dark blue locks have finally sprouted out of his head! And not to mention he looks quite hot. You can now see a little more of the markings on his arm, as well. Hmmm. What shall we see from this new kid?

And his hair is longer! And he's a lot taller, too (well, that was probably a given). Even the pattern on his wrist has changed to suit the new, older Lyrus. Well, he certainly seems a lot more in control of his life, now. What shall come from this cooler, hornier Lyrus, I wonder?

Lyrus: Ability Quest!
No doubt it's been a bumpy ride, but Lyrus has come along way. He's ready to develope another ability to help him later, but in order to do that, he must first get five people drunk with five different kinds of alcohol. It doesn't matter who or where they are.

DUN DUH DUUUUUUUH~~~ *waves flags*

Lyrus has gained a new Ability!

It was... certainly interesting to get all of those people drunk. And Lyrus got to get drunk too. And it was allowed, because it was for his quest! Nothing could be better than that, right? Finally, after Mignon became so drunk she actually snorted, Lyrus found himself with a new ability. He now...

Can memorize and perfectly mix any drink he comes across.

DOUBLE QUESTS (ABILITY AND AFF/AV)

Lyrus, you've been working as a barkeeper for quite some time now, and things have been relatively peaceful. Recently, however, some shady folk have been frequenting your bar. They haven't done anything yet, and so you have left them alone. Tonight, one of them decides to start a fight with one of your regular patrons. Describe how you handle the situation, and what measures you talk.

DOUBLE QUESTS

Well Lyrus, that was definitely an interesting way to get rid of some meddlesome people. Here's to hoping that you get a better bouncer in the future. You've been working as a bartender for quite some time now, but how much of the stuff you make do you actually drink? Not too much, I'd assume. You need to spend a day a bartending class, and try at least five new kinds of drinks, preferably with alcohol. It's my fault if you get drunk.

Lyrus' room is dark, simple, and elegant, in accordance with the lamb's tastes. The ceiling light it permanently dimmed when not off, and the majority of the room's light comes from either a large window on the outer wall (usually with the blinds shut) or a small glass lamp that Lyrus picked up during his first ability quest. The room is decorated in shadowed colors: dark blues, reds, greens, and the occasional brown or black. The only furniture is his bed (complete with a dark blue comforter, spread with swirls of reds and greens), a chest of drawers, a large book case on which he keeps most of his possessions, and a small glass table situated in one corner. Not at all the room of a toddler. But then, that's Lyrus for you...

The Jivvin center, which is actually just the home of Moo and and her family, is a large, ancient farmhouse situated on the edge of a magnificent forest, which stretches to the horizon and beyond to the west, north, and east. Immediately behind the house is a small aisle where the trees part, forming a narrow dirt road that winds away into the forest. The path meanders in every which-a-way for some time, finally opening to an immense clearing, somehow untouched by time or even distance.

Built on a large hill in the center of the clearing is an ancient mansion--or is it a newly constructed castle? The image seems to flicker and change from one to the other. The dirt path twines its way towards the mansion, wandering calmly around a large lake and leading up towards the front doors. As you take your first steps from the safety of the forest, some sixth sense seems to warn you against straying from the road. As much as you want to keep going, the distance seems terribly long. Is it really worth it? Before you can take ten steps, you are at the end of the path, standing before the three identical doors of the mansion.

At first glance, they seem normal enough; three large, heavy wooden doors, made exactly alike with a carving of an hourglass on each. But as you look closer, the hourglasses seem to change on each. Tiny, carved grains of sand form from the wood, moving to a different position on each door. On the first door, the sand begins to fall from top to bottom, falling endlessly though vanishing before it touches the bottom. In the second, the sand also falls, though and equal amount constantly remains in top and bottom. And on the third, the sand remains settled on the bottom, still and unmoving.

The middle door seems safest, given the present situation, and as you enter you step into a wide hallway, lined with doors on either side and ending in a magnificent pair double doors, delicately carved of dark cherrywood. This doorway, usually open, leads to a magnificent marble staircase, and, beyond that, the Grand Ballroom--rarely used by anyone--, which takes up the larger part of the rear of the house, and stretches up to include the second floor.

The first floor is simply, yet elegantly decorated, usually kept to a strictly formal atmosphere, though its inhabitants certainly don't follow along. The left side of the first floor is compose primarily of a large kitchen and dining room; from there another smaller hallyways leads to to labs (Moo's and Acia's), an art studio (Banda's), the downstairs armory, a bathroom, the storeroom/garage and a smaler staircase to the second floor.

The right side of the first floor, meanwhile, includes a smaller staircase of its own, the living room, the den, two offices (Moo's private office and the main Jivvin one), two master bedrooms (Moo's and Pod's), and the 'Egg Room', which is kept locked at almost all times.

The second and third floors of the house are primarily smaller bedrooms for the rest of the members of the household, but, as before stated, the ballroom takes up a large area of the second floor, and there is a larger meeting room stationed at the end of each wing should they be needed.

Also, the entire midsection of the third floor has been devoted to an immense private library. Hundreds of rare books line the shelves, many possibly the only ones of their kind left in existance, but there are many empty spaces where books have gone missing, and the library itself is messy and unorganized--for the most part. A few simply tables and many comfortable armchairs are situated around the library for whoever might want them; books are free to come and go, but automatically return if kept away too long... How odd.

The fourth floor is all but empty, devoid of life or decoration save for one small room near the staircase, where various charmed weapons and armor are stored--a relic from the House's Past. The fourth floor serves as a barrier between the safety of the lower floors and the dangers of the Fifth. The only two doors are almost always kept locked, just on the off chance that some wayward spirit might escape...

Little is known of the Fifth floor. Its single door is kept locked and barred at all times, and an eerie glow seems to surround it. Rumors tell of demons, spirits, warped creatures trapped within by the powers surrounding the House. And some of the household's members will swear to these rumors, claim to have seen these creatures, fought them away... But who can be sure. Many illusions surround the House. This could simply be another.
