"OH my God. OH my God." Seconds away from hyperventilation, Danny trembled and shook as the crashing started at the walls, backing away toward the door. Bumping into Kyo, she cast a wild-eyed look to the other woman, looking for direction- do they run? Did they have a choice?

Nicolai jumped. High. More tremors?

That wasn't an earthquake. Something was forcing its way in. Wiko had begun to wail, finally, clinging tightly to his guardian's shirt in the process. The shrill noise in his ears was a bit much to take. It was finally time to stop standing around holding creepy undead babies and take some defensive action.

"Kay... can I trust you not to telekinetically drop Wiko on his butt like you did to me?" he asked of the sidhe, somewhat begrudgingly, holding Wiko out a little as if to offer him to her. "I think it's kind of dumb of us to sit here and let this stuff happen."

Yeah, people were getting sick and grayish, and we're still sitting here holding our kids and panicking??

Rouge rolled her eyes and took a bite of a candy. "Oh well. Their choice." she mumbled.

Truthfully, had Rouge been watching this from the outside she'd think she looked rather foolish as well. But what she was choosing to do was make sure she had enough energy to take on these energy eating monsters. Though people were also panicing around her which wouldn't do them any good.

Really right then she didnt' want to be a pirate captain and she was bored of being in charge. Let someone else take charge for a while. She was going to make sure she had the energy to fight.

Kay lifted her head blindly searching...until Nic was holding out a baby. She did NOT want to hold a baby right now. Getting up off of Zah, Kay stood up and grudgingly took him, "I can get a playpen. All the babies should go in there. At least they'd be in one place and things would be safe since something obviously isn't right."

The tremors, she didn't notice. They couldn't be felt in the main lobby and only the walls of the garden were shaking at the current moment. Nic was going crazy, in her mind - but she didn't know he knew when things were going on and others didn't.

"And WHY are the bloody lights off? Someone tell me what's been happening? Please? Lost Sidhe here?"

God what she wouldn't do for light, apple pie, and a Mickey Mouse cartoon.

Zasalamel hadn't noticed the man behind him...that was, until the door gave in and he nearly took the man out from flying backwards. Damn you, inertia! Even then he had no time to think about it, as the second he'd just begun to get his bearings, he had a little creature cling onto him, speaking much too fast for him to understand what it was saying. Of course, instinct had him clamp his arms around the small creature, as if capturing it.

When the lights went out, everything in his line of sight went completely black; his arms clasped tighter around the creature's little body. A moment later though, his infrared sight took over, and with a few bewildered blinks, he looked down to see who or what it was that held him, and that he was holding.

Oh. It was Kay.

He let go of her instantly with a quickly uttered apology...twice. Once in Undercommon, and again in english...in the same breath. Then, of course, he was met with a little baby-like figure that had been held over his head as it was offered to Kay.

"Ack!" Was all he could say, when he realized the kid was there.

---

Meanwhile, Neveah, who had seen the shadows start to move, urged Kyo to his feet and pointed to the headquarters, unable to say much. Hoping he got the message, the butterfly woman took off as fast as she could, to get into the building. Somehow, she wouldn't mind the huge crowd in there now. At least they were alive. And now, she could try and find Zasalamel.

No good. Just screaming. Now the walls were beginning to tremble from the force of the creatures... and Danny didn't seem to be moving. The door to the main hall was opened, and the boy on her shoulder set on the floor. "Xerksis, go find the others." She told him, quite aware that he could understand. She ignored his pout, shutting the door before moving swiftly back into the garden where some of the others still were. At least Xerk would be safe in there, hopefully.

Pale fingers reached out and set themselves upon Danny's shoulder almost in a vice- or at least tried to. "We need to get inside. They will get in and they will have her without a fight if you don't. They will have us all." Referring to Vanaja at first- perhaps that would wake Danny up. Hopefully the others outside were listening. Seeing the woman was confused, Kyo would lessen her hold and attempt to guide her to the door.

Xerksis sat on the inside of the main hall, irritated and very much alone. What was his guardian doing, anyway? Why couldn't they go to the dark things? Why was everyone so scared? In the dark gray, the Illithid turned onto his knees and began to crawl, eventually finding his feet and stumbling upon them towards the area where he felt minds. A message was being sent out to no particular mind in general; anyone or maybe everyone nearby would hear it. 'Here. Now.' There had been now plush-toy sacrifice, some someone had better damn well come and get him. A tantrum from the Mindflayer would not be a good addition to the situation. Brat.

Nicolai shrugged. "Playpen works. I don't know how many of these can be left in one alone, but I suppose it's better than bogging us all down."

Oh, Nicolai! You're such a kind and compassionate person! he thought to himself, mentally rolling his eyes at himself. Yeah, so? Worlds collapsing. Dead people going airborne... what is this? Time to be sweet about what's going on? Nuh. It was time to be Akoriat. Akoriats only lived fifty years, tops, and survival was always the main goal. Whatever works.

"Let's do that," he urged, trying not to smile at the spaztic Drow before him. "Like. Now."

Oh, man oh man. Was that ever the secret phrase. She had to look after Vana- she had to. Whatever else might come, if she couldn't get the fern babe through it, then she'd truly failed.

"Eyyah... ri...." The words wouldn't work. Danny cleared her throat quickly, then began nodding her fervent agreement. It was useless to try and say any more beyond that; her throat was so choked up that she didn't think she could, anyway. She let herself be ushered toward the door, even being so helpful as to pull it open and skitter through when it was within reach. Over her back, Vana began gumming at her fist anxiously, eyes still bright with tears though her demenor was far more reserved and laid-back. If the baby recognized the danger of the current situation, she was certainly brave in facing it.

Coailiann heard Xerksis' call and winced. Damnit, why was everyone talking to HER? Right. She lived there. Shoving Wiko back at Nic she gave him a look that probably couldn't be seen and started blindly toward the giver of the message.

Thankfully, nothing was in her way in the hall and though she nearly tripped over Xerksis, she found him. The girl picked him up (even though he was half her size) and carried him into the lobby quietly before setting him down on a nearby couch. Or what she assumed was a couch.

She had no idea food was on it, in any case.

"OKAY!" she called loudly, "IM GETTING A PLAY PEN AND ALL BABIES BE PUT IN IT! KAY? KAY."

She blindly went back into the main lobby and started feeling around for doors, counting to herself each time she did. Second door on her right was the storage room.

Aha! there it was! All her things from baby months were in there and she opened the door. Now, to find the damn playpen...

A loud screech filled the air and several shadows that had been crowding the windows disappeared, letting light pour into the main lobby. There wasn't much, but it was enough so the people without night vision would be able to see their own hands in front of their faces. It was useful - for anyone but Coailiann considering there was no light in the storage room.

"FOUND IT! SOMEONE HELP ME DRAG IT OUT!"

It was times like this when the girl hated being small.

The woman heard Kay run off to find the playpen and followed. She was nearby just as the girl started to call for a hand.

Walking into the room Rouge nodded when she noticed where Kay was-her crystal dimly lit once more.

"Here I've got it." the woman muttered, taking hold of the playpen. "I can get it out there if you can direct me."

Kay backed out of the storage and sighed in relief as she was at least able to make out vague shapes in the dark. Had someone found lights? Oh! The candles.

She'd tell people about the candles soon.

"Just pull it out and put it behind the bar thing over there. That'll keep 'em from being seen."

Kay may not have known what was going on but babies were a nuisance anyway and weren't likely to help situations.

And if it was bad, well, the bar would be a nice little fortress.

"...Can someone tell me what's going on, now? PLEASE?"
PostPosted: Sat Dec 09, 2006 12:20 pm

Okay, an Order. Now that he could understand. Scrambling to his feet, the Tall Drow child took a moment to get his bearings back. Turning to face the man he'd nearly took out moment ago, the Drow pointed to the baby and opened his arms. "Cahn teyk." He offered.

Once he had Wiko (and even if Nic didn't give him the baby), Zasalamel promptly followed after Kay. Something told him she couldn't see in the dark as well as he could, and he needed to help somehow. Of course, Rouge got there first. Instead, he stood back with (or without) Wiko, looking around.

"Mihnd leenk." He asked Kay, figuring he wouldn't be able to say it well enough out loud. He could explain it to her, he figured.

Rouge nodded and pulled the pen out, hiding it safely behind the bar as directed and making sure it was properly set up.

"Okay you guys can put the little ones in here." she said poking her head up from behind the bar. "I can stay back here and make sure they stay calm if need be."
PostPosted: Sat Dec 09, 2006 12:24 pm

Okay, goodie. Someone who would actually let her in on what was going on? It was a bloody frigging miracle!

Please, Zah, what's going on? Why are people panicked, why are the lights out, and why, in heavens name, do I look gray?

She was hoping it was the distinct lack of light. She REALLY was.
